Muggle Studies Club So for our first club activity, we are going to cook the way muggles do. Bring along with you, your favourite recipe and let's get cooking. Before we start though let me go through the rules. Rule 1: All SS Board Rules Apply Rule 2: Since we will be using sharp instruments in this activity and also hot elements, anyone caught acting foolishly and endangering others will lose points. And depending on the severity of the act you will face detention and be banned from participating in any other activities. Rule 3: Show respect to your other peers, Professor Lawson and any other Professors that might pop in. Rule 4: Help each other out. Teamwork is important. Rule 5: Have fun!! The room has been set up with rows of benches each containing an oven, stove top, sink and food preparation area. At the back of the room is a huge pantry and industrial type refrigerators. So come in and take your place at a work station and we can cook up some gourmet delights. |
Kay walked into the room that Muggle Studies...well the club was going to be. She looked around and no one there. Did she get the wrong time? Walking over to one of the work station< she pulled out her book that had her recipes in it. She only had two or three but they were her great-grandmother and she loved them. The one she wanted to do first was fudge. It was candy but food right? Kay sat down and waited for some others to show up. Even the Professor would not want her to start with him. Would he? |
How superb! Gold had a cookbook, under an arm. Not that she needed it, but maybe someone could go through it, and pick a nice dish. Or maybe Professor Lawson could have a look. At any rate, a cookbook is a useful, little thing, so she had brought one. "Good day, Professor Lawson," she said politely, as she stepped in. "Hope you and Mrs. Lawson had a wonderful summer." Yep. |
Maddie walked into the room and picked a workspace. She saw that there were only two other people there and waved shyly. She pulled out the recipe she had brought and looked at it again. It was a recipe for a cake that her cook, Mrs. Cavendish, used to make for her all the time. 'Good morning, Proffessor' she said politely, and waited for the cooking to start |
They were going to.....cook. Muggle style. Did he know she was horrible in the kitchen? Well Sir Lawson would find out soon enough, wouldn't he? Arya made her way into the room with a cookbook and a smile. No she couldn't cook, but she did like to make a mess and cooking was a great way to do that. Making her way through the classroom, she spoted Gold and gave her a wave. She chose a seat near the front and hoped on the bench, sliding the book onto the table and fliped it open, smiling at her professor. "Hey, Sir Lawson. How are you?" |
Sophia walked inside the room. She loves food and she often watch her mother cook -- but not in a Muggle way. She, being interested to study more about Muggles not to mention her mother was a Muggle-born witch, joined this club. Looking around the room, she only saw 4 students. She saw Kay, the Hufflepuff she'd met at the common room, and smiled at her. Then she walked toward the professor. "Good afternoon Professor Lawson!" she said. |
Rhea walked into the room where the muggle studies club was. She had been exposed to muggle cooking before and she figured this was a great way to show other what she had learned. Giving that her mom was originally from the Caribbean she brought along a Caribbean cook book. Maybe they could jerk, or make some other tropical dishes everyone could enjoy. One thing about Caribbean food was, it was very spicy. She loved that about it though. She beamed at professor Lawson and said a haughty "hello professor" and moved to an empty station, waiting for the professor to give further instructions. |
Anywhere there was food was where Diggy wanted to be. And although his dad was a master chef Diggy never once asked to cook with him. Now granted his sister Paris was very territorial when it came to their dad and the kitchen was off limits to everyone but her when he was in there cooking. However Diggy thought since he ate enough to feed a small army it would be nice to know how to cook himself. You never knew when your dad might not feel up to cooking dinner. And that would just be tragic. He walked in and looked around at the stations. Not many people were there and he shrugged and walked over to an empty one. he noticed a girl with flaming red hair. Like her head was always on fire. He wasn't sure he liked that color, but she seemed to wear it well. This was going to fun...unless he burned off his eyebrows like his dad did a few years. He didn't know if he wanted to walk about looking like that for the new few weeks. |
Cookery! Wooo! Oliver wandered into the classroom set out like a muggle kitchen with a grin on his face. Granted, cookery was for girrrrls, but who could complain when you got the chance to make a batch of cookies which you could then scoff on your own. And Oliver was being good at the moment; deciding upon a sugar free recipe following the consumption of syrupy sugary Butterbeer which sent him a bit bonkers and ended up with him falling off the roof of the Leaky Cauldron. Guh. But... lets us not speaketh of that again. heh. Ooh! There was the Gryffie Prefect with the hair to match her house colours. Awesome. Oliver gave her a |
Evelyn couldn't believe she was standing there, in front of the door. There. In front of, the Muggle Studies Club, door. Dear Merlin, what possessed her to do this? Lawson! That's who! He was tricky and evil. Evelyn could have said no, and had him re-create the darn candy all by himself without her having to join the club, but nooooooo. He had to convince her to come along and learn by herself. So, not only was he successful in torturing her by making her sit extra time in her least favorite subject, he also was making her learn in her free time when she usually slept. Yes, she could've been sleeping right now and in fact, she would have preferred that no matter how much she was interested in cooking. Pfft. Rubbing her face, Evelyn hesitantly took a step towards the classroom before taking a step away from it. No, she agreed to do this. And Destiny too, wherever she was, but... walking into the classroom, she kept her head down low, not looking at anyone, and stood in the way back next to the pantry. If she had a hood, she'd have that up too. |

Simon entered the room.It looked kinda' small.Or maybe it's just seemed small for him , after spending so much time in the Great Hall.He sat down. |
Ellie walked in. Muggle Studies... club???? What was this going to be about??? Then, she stopped, dead. Oh, no. Not coooooking! she thought. Her dad always said, 'Never let a pureblood cook without her wand.' Ellie believed him. This could be disastrous! Did they realize that? She could just picture the whole room going up in smoke! Even most muggles can't cook! Ahhhh.... But she was already here. Too late for turning back... |

Nessa heard about the Muggle Studies Club and thought it was be a good idea to join. She thought it would be good to help other students who were not familiar with Muggles at all. Nessa walks into the room to see a lot of stoves and ovens around the room, which reminded her a lot of home. Walking in, she looks around to see if she know anyone and she sees Maddie. Nessa gave Maddie a wave and walked to over to a stove and oven. She read the instructions of what will be going onto and she begins to think what she would want to cook. Finally Nessa starts making a batch of banana bread, which her mom use to make all the time. |

SPOILER!!: Digzy Digz <3 |
Evelyn. That sneaky Slytherin. She was the reason Destiny was here, dressed in her awesome apron and carrying a book on recipes. If it wasn't for her friend, she would have not come to this club, and she would not have the scowl upon her face. Seriously, seeing the Lawsonator in class was not enough? She had to see him in a club too!? Oh Merlin. The only thing she was looking forward to was all the FOOD she was going to be able to eat. Even if they weren't supposed to share, she was gunna eat it anyway. Especially if people decided to make desserts. Especially pie. Too bad for everyone else, though, Destiny was not going to be making desserts. Nope. She had already picked out a recipe, and it was a good one! At least she thought it was good. Entering the classroom..well, the ovenry, or whatever it is called..Destiny noticed she was the ONLY one wearing an apron!? That meant..she would be the only one wearing one, which made her special! Unless the others had theirs in their bag and such, then it would make them special too. Humph..she should have brought a chef hat. Spotting Evelyn standing all the way in the back, Destiny made her way over to her, "This was your idea you know." Just had to remind her that. |

He poked it and it popped in his face. Showering him with sticky, sugary crystals. He giggled again and wandered back over to Oliver. "I put my name down for the tryouts," he said sliding back into the conversation like he had never followed a bouncing blue bubble around the room. It was Diggy's turn to shrug. "I dunno what we are making. I hope it has sugar in it." His eyes glazed over at that thought. "Hmm sugar." he murmured. "You know Paris would never let me set foot in the kitchen." he told Oliver. Oliver had been on the receiving end of a Paris hex as well. "Can you cook like dad?" he asked his uncle. He didn't mean to keep comparing them but Oliver looked so much like his dad it was hard. And Diggy was as homesick as he ever was. |
Cupcakes Yes, that's all that she had on her mind at the moment. Well cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. Baked goodies and such, yes they were running amok in her mind. She just had this urge to bake at the moment and after those cupcakes during their celebration, they have been on her mind. Her own cupcakes will be just as delicious if not a little bit better, yes that was her goal for sure. Plus, she did have a bit too much energy at the moment and it would probably wiser for her to focus the energy on something sweet and yummy, not something bad. Yes, those days were over for her. Mina didn't do bad, she was a nice girl after all. |
ooc: Sorry to keep you guys waiting but I have got the flu and can't think straight right now. I shall edit in a reply tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. |
Marie stood outside the door to the Muggle Studies Club debating on if she should go in or not. Why was she even considering joining this club? Did she really want to put herself through the torture of spending more time than she really had to with... Lawson, the one professor she blamed for her breakup with Evan. If he would have just kept his mouth shut and not encouraged Evan to play football he would have never left school last term. She wouldn't have had to spend most of the term worried about if he was ok or if he was coming back because he would have been there, at school with her. But nooooo, he had to put the stupid idea in his head that he could make it as a professional player if he really wanted to. So without even telling his girlfriend what he was doing Evan just left her and school to play a stupid muggle sport. Yes, in Marie's mind it was all Lawson's fault that her and Evan were not together anymore... him and that stupid football. So why was it she found herself standing outside this door again... getting ready to face the enemy? Because she was moving on with her life that's why. She was now Carter's girlfriend... well she would be once he found the perfect moment to ask her that is. Yes, Carter was the only reason she was considering joining this club. Since he was muggleborn she thought it would be a good idea to learn how to do things the muggle way Finally convincing herself to actually walk into the room she opened the door and went in only to find... Destiny and Evelyn in there too!? Whoa, what were they doing there? The last she knew, Evelyn hated all things muggle. She She went over to a work station next to her friends and realized that she did not have a recipe with her. How was she suppose to learn to cook something if she didn't even know what she was going to make? "Um, hey guys, would either of you have an extra recipe I can use? I seem to have left all mine back in the dorm room." Yeah, like she had any to begin with. Pfft, why did she need recipes when they had house elves to do the cooking. |
Muggle Studies Club with Professor Lawson? F-U-N. Real fun, not those who said it'd be fun, but it was actually a fiasco. And Evan would have that F-U-N. He had something to keep his mind off... stuff, and Professor Lawson was perfect for that. Not only did this club would teach him the true way of Muggles' lives, but it'd also be magic-free. He failed to cast magic these days, and it'd be nice to use only your hands. So yes, he was totally in. Skipping to the door, he halted to check if it had already started. Relief. It hadn't. He quickly entered, pretty excited and enthusiastic until Marie. He grunted slightly. Why was she here? Was she not a Malfoy, who were famous for their disapproval of Muggles? He was frozen for a few seconds, and it took much effort to look at somewhere else. A small smile appeared on his face. Mina was here too. He could work with Mina, and ignore Marie, and everyone would be happy. He sat next to Mina, greeting her with a warm smile and took some papera out of his pocket, which contained several recipes. Checking them one last time to see if one was missing, luckily, none was, he looked up at the professor for the instructions. This would be so awesome, despite Marie. |
Wooot! Muggle Studies! Something he was really good at. He didn't know how to cook really well but at least, he do know the fundamental things that should be keep in mind while cooking. And since it was going to be muggle's way of cooking, Cedric was prepared that they couldn't and shouldn't use their wands. Having lived as a Muggle kid for eleven years, Ced had known almost every little thing about the non-magical world and he was still living as a simple muggle over the holidays and summer vacations in the first place. Upon entering the class in an upbeat mode, Cedric ardently took a glimpse around and saw that there were already people who seem to be working together and there was Professor Lawson too. And he just hoped that he didn't came that late. He wiped the moisture off of his forehead as he entered the room; it was rather getting a teensy bit hot on the school grounds these days and he'd want winter to come sooner. "Hey Professor Lawson." He greeted him with a genuine smile and reasonably enough, he walked toward the corner where the boys were. |
SPOILER!!: Diggy! <3 Now.. back to the weird bubble thing. “Er.. What was that before, Digz?” He asked with a chuckle and a look of incredulousness. Oliver would be a bit worried if he went around exhaling blue bubbles like that – but then Diggy did have a He looked at his own recipe book and back at Diggy. “I thought we were meant to bring our own.” Maybe he'd misunderstood. “I was gonna make cookies.” The mention of sugar led to more face pulling from the tall skinny Slytherin. “Shame I can't eat it.” He mumbled. “Well I can.. but I shouldn't.” Cos Oliver would always do what he wanted, but the consumption of sugar and his reaction to it was going to end up in someone getting hurt – most likely himself. Stoopid allergy. He chuckled a little at Diggy's comment about Paris. “She's very territorial.” nod nod. “No. I can't say that I've tried before. Unless you count stirring the cake mixture for my mum when I was six.” Most of which ended up in Oliver's stomach which led to sugar induced bouncing off the walls which led to his mum shouting which led to Oliver crying and then puking. Sigh. The boy did have rather a weak constitution. |
Amy walked into the lesson, morning Proffessor Lawson, she said, as she grabbed an empty seat, she sat down, smiling and pulled out her quil and parchment and notebook, she was guaranteed to know this class, she thought happily |
He shook his head and blue sugar crystals rained down on him and Oliver like a fanciful shower. He giggled. The sugar was making him giddy. He was no where near curbing his sugar addiction. "Well Paris taught me everything she knew so maybe I will make the team," he told Oliver. He hoped he made the team, but he wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. Diggy turned and looked at his uncle. "Oh um its a new candy I've been working on." he told him softly. Diggy had been spending a lot of time working on some new candies. He didn't know why, but it was fun and he got to try out some new things. Like the blue bubble thing. Though last night he was burping blue canaries. Maybe he could make a candy that let you burp up different things. That would be cool. Girls would hate it, Diggy giggled at the thought. He looked back at Oliver when he was done giggling. "Oh well I don't have any recipes. We can make your cookies." Cookies were good. Cookies had sugar and even better they could make sugar cookies. And they could put yellow icing ok top of them with sprinkles. His face scrunched up, "Why can't you eat them?" It would be silly to make something that you couldn't eat. If they made cookies Digz was totally going to eat some of them and maybe take some back to his room and give some to Stark. The cat was picking up Diggy's very bad and addicted love of sugar and candy. "Well Paris just likes everyone to know that she's daddy's girl." he told Oliver. Paris was extremely jealous when it came to their dad and everyone just learned to stay out of her way. Unless you just liked getting your butt kicked. "But dad spends Saturdays with us when Paris has that mother daughter thing with mom." he pointed out. All the boys loved that day. "Oh well this is going to be interesting. I've never cooked before either." He really hoped they didn't burn anything down. That wouldn't be a good way to start the term. Though the starting of his term couldn't be any worse. |

She was hoping perhaps she could've avoided Destiny for the beginning of the meeting thing until she was in a more happier mood. But apparently not. "My idea?" she gasped in horror, clutching her heart as if she were dying. NOT her idea! "If it's anyone's fault, it's Lawson's." she whispered in slight anger. She didn't want anyone else to know she was the- Oh no. No no. Kay was here? And...Marie? Finally looking around, since she WAS going to point accusingly at professor Lawson, her eyes did find two people that actually knew her. Now she really did need a hood or something. However, turning her attention back to Destiny, her surprised face turned to one of frown. "He tricked me. With his weird mind control-ness and the little human thing he carries around." The evil little, toothless, crying, monster...little human. "Plus...he mentioned...something about dragging you here...I don't know! What's with the apron anyway?" |
Alcemee walked in and looked around surprisedly. She had not expected them to be cooking in the Muggle Studies Club. But she did know a little bit about cooking since she was a half-blood. She walked over to one of the ovens. |
Marie too! XD Quote:
Destiny looked at every single person that had walked into the ovenry, and not a single one was wearing an apron. Good. That still meant she was the only one that would be AWESOME and wearing one. In their faces! Yeah, Destiny should have known Evelyn was going to blame Lawson for this. It was probably all her friend's fault that he even started this club. Evelyn was going soft..which meant she liked the Muggle Studies Professor as much as she liked Truebridge. *shiver* "Right. Blame it on the OLD man!" she whispered back. As Evelyn looked around the classroom, Destiny did too. Hmm..Kay was here. This club could turn out to be somewhat fun actually. Perhaps an egg could accidentally be thrown at the Huffie's head. What!? Mind control and little human? Lawson was an alien! Destiny had seen those moving pictures on the muggle box about aliens. They eat children's brains and then laugh about it over a cup of tea. "Hey Evelyn." she whispered nudging her friend a little, "What if this wasn't a club for us to learn how to cook? What if it was a club for us to be eaten?" Her apron was not important right now. Either was the fact that Marie needed a recipe. Lawson was gunna eat them! |
Butting in on Destiny and Evelyn! :D X. Quote:
Speaking loud enough so she could hear, "Well if it is, your better watch out cause i am kinda hungry" he joked. Moving to an empty table he pulled out his recipe, Triple Choc Fudge Brownies. "So what are you Ladies making anyway?" He asked both Destiny and Evelyn |

And he tricked HER into going, and bringing Destiny along, because wouldn't he just looove for them to be eaten!? Evelyn knew he would. Yes. Perhaps she could sneak out the door before anyone noticed? It was worth a shot! As she just about started to crouch low to the ground, a voice close to them made her jump and her arm automatically swung around in defense. Lawson wasn't going to eat her! No, it was just some random guy she didn't know making a joke. A very, convincing joke. "Ha ha..." she muttered sarcastically, crossing her arms and nudging Destiny to stand in front of her. "Nothing. Making...nothing." She didn't want anyone to know her super secret candy! That, only like a few people knew about... |
Wesley skipped into the classroom, wearing the only muggle clothes she'd brought (black athletic shorts, a plain yellow T-shirt, and some slightly scuffed-up trainers). She didn't have a cook book because she didn't own any, BUT she did have her Muggle Studies notes from three terms past. "Hello Professor Lawson!" Wesley greeted, trying hard to keep the excited giggles out of her voice but failing. Sending a wave out to Evelyn, Kay, Oliver, Rhea, Evan, Marie, and a couple other people she'd never met before, Wesley took a seat on one of the middle benches, right in the thick of things. |

She couldn't believe Evelyn, of all people, would fall for one of Lawson's tricks! Not only did Evelyn fall for his trick, she had brought Destiny into this mess as well. Great, just great. They were not going to live to see the day Sly stopped eating grass. And what about Evelyn's kitten? Who was going to take care of that? Not Marie, since she was going to be eaten as well. "I say we get outta here." she whispered and gestured her head towards the door. They could always say they forgot their recipes. Only they would not be escaping. Not with one of Lawson's minions talking to them. "Heh. Very funny, buddy." Hey! Why was Destiny standing in front of Evelyn? Why did she have to be the human shield! Surely they would want to eat Evelyn first. She did, after all, have a tan. "We're not making anything. We don't have recipes." she said, throwing her book under a random table. That wasn't obvious, was it? Maybe they should just run for the door. |

Heading back to his table he add his ingredients into the bowl and stated to mix. |

"Nothing is good. Nothing means less juicy, and less appetizing." Evelyn nodded while crouching down behind Destiny so she was out of view. She probably looked ridiculous at the moment, but the Slytherin didn't care! She wanted to LIVE! Rolling her eyes at seeing the book her friend was carrying before, happen to be falling under a random table, she raised a brow and looked at her friend's head. Really, if the guy didn't see the flying book, than he would have obviously heard it. No time for telling Destiny that though. They needed to escape. Super Slytherin Style... ..."Run for your life!" she yelled into her friend's ear, (hehe), and pushing her forward so she was still a shield for Evelyn. Mwaha! Quote:
"SAVE YOURSELF!" Now...ONWARD TO THE DOOR! |
Destiny, Evelyn, Patroclus--Too lazy to quote Marie was sitting there listening to Destiny and Evelyn talk about... WHAT! Aliens... who was an alien and who was going to eat them? Looking around the room her gaze landed on Lawson... who had tricked Evelyn into coming to this club. She so needed to It seemed there was no time for that though since Evelyn had convinced herself that she was going to get eaten today... and she had Destiny believing it too. And who was this boy messing with them? He looked familiar to Marie... she had met him somewhere before but she couldn't remember right now when or where she met him. She picked up the book Destiny had thrown on the floor then made her way over to her friends who were... trying to sneak out of the room? "Come on you two, he's not stupid enough to try and eat us." she whispered to them. "Besides, if he is then I will stomp on his foot and punch him in the nose." Yes she would, she would not let him hurt her friends. |
Excited as ever for the first of their Muggle Studies Club activities, the Hufflepuff smiled brightly as she walked into the room that no longer resembled their classroom at all but a kitchen, greeting the Professor cheerfully, "Hello Professor Lawson!" before glancing around at the faces already present. Hmmm, where were the boys? Surely they would come. Possibly not very enthusiastic once they arrived, maybe. But they would come, right? Deciding they were probably on their way, Kaitlynnh made her way to an empty work station area and dropped her backpack from her shoulder, catching it by the handle the young girl set it on the countertop and searched for something inside while she waited. |
Gwacie/Katie =P Bouncing as his usual Mat had a huge grin on his face as he entered the classroom. Not that he was really happy to go in a cooking class. Cooking was for the girl but this was an excuse to spend time with his friend. Surely they will eat what they were cooking right, right, RIGHT!!! As he pass in front of the professor Mat salute him. "Hey professor Lawson sir!" He didn't wait for an answer. As soon as he noticed that Katie was already there, Mat sprint next to her. "Yo Katie! Why do you have always to be the first to arrive?" As he said that he start to chuckle. This wasn't really a question meant to be answer but merely a fun comment to make. |
Gracie/Katie, Marie/Mat William grinned as he entered what used to be the muggle studies classroom - now turned... kitchen? Were they making muggle potions he thought before shaking his head, tossing a friendly wave at professor Lawson. "Howdy professor Lawson!" he greeted cheerfully before looking around for his little group of coolness. Looking around as he made his way over to find his group he suddenly remembered they were cooking. Well this should be interesting. He spotted Katie straight away and chuckled as he made his way over, blue eyes shining as he said, "First to arrive like normal eh?" in a teasing voice. "Just to warn you I've had like 20 chocolate frogs so I'm pretty hyper. Hey Mat." he explained, before grinning at Mat. Dropping his bag onto the table beside him he grinned, looking around curiously. |
SPOILER!!: Patroclus, Evelyn & Marie So, this minion of Lawson's obviously doesn't eat. Well, today were their lucky day too, huh? Tonight they dine on STUDENTS! "Well, you have fun eating nothing." And it looked like the boy was going to cook..nothing something. She had seen him walk to the pantry, collecting his ingredients..or him non-ingredients. Shaking her head, since she was now VERY confused, she turned back to Evelyn. The minion was busy, so their escape could happen. Gasping, quite loudly, Destiny covered her mouth. This was HORRIBLE! Just like Evelyn said it was. "It was..yelling too?" she said, talking through her hands, which made it sound like; "Et vuz wullen foo?" Realizing Evelyn probably had no idea what she had said, she uncovered her mouth to finish her thoughts, "This is not good!" Why wasn't anyone else freaking out? They were all walking into a trap! Abort, abort! Reeeeetreat!!! Jumping about a mile in the air, Destiny quickly turned around as Evelyn yelled in her ear. "Jeez. My ear!" she whispered loudly before being pushed in the direction of the door. Only they did not get very far. Not only was it extremely difficult to walk in her laceless shoes, but Marie was trying to stop them. Snorting at what she said, about Lawson not being stupid enough, Destiny pointed to her, "Shun! Shun the non-believer!" What Marie said after that though, made Destiny stop. Which was hard, considering Evelyn was still pushing her. "That was..really loud. And he is right there!" Merlin help Marie. |
Quote:
Looking up, she caught sight of someone and she almost saw red, but looked away. She wasn't about to head down that road at the moment, she better than that for sure and was here for a reason. She would just have to do her best to ignore what was displeasing her. She had done it before, so this time wouldn't be all that difficult. Noticing someone seating beside her, she looked over and a bright smiled formed on her face. It was Evan and she couldn't really be in a foul mood with him around. Every time, they hung out it was fun and with him around, she was pretty sure she would have fun as well. She did tend to have more fun with her friends around. More so with newer friends, but she wasn't about to think about that at the moment. Glancing over at his stack of recipes, she whistled. "You have a nice collection. Maybe we could exchange some recipes or something," she smiled as she looked back to her own recipes. It never hurts to expand ones recipe collection. |
SPOILER!!: Marie and Destiny Why...wasn't...Destiny...moving!? Finally stopping trying to get her friend out the door and to SAFETY, she heard Marie speaking. Oh. Well, it did sound pretty ridiculous now that she thought about it. Standing up straight, she stared at Marie as she took a step away from the DHS (Destiny Human Shield) and folded her hands behind her back. Being ridiculous. However, her eyes widened when Destiny pointed out the fact that he was standing right there... "He's going to eat Marie." she whispered to Destiny, going back to panic mode. Well... "I think you should kick him instead." That seemed to work last time didn't it? Measuring the distance from where they were at and to the door, she figured there was no way they could get that far without being caught. "Marie..." she hissed quietly and looking around as if everyone started hugging each other and she didn't know what to do. "Marie...play dead! You'll look less appetizing." |
For the Escapees: Destiny Evelyn and Marie Looking up from his mixing bowl, Patroclus now noticed that Carter's girlfriend was also at the table with Destiny and Evelyn. Last time he had seen her was last year, when they were actually trying to stop the other two from trying kill students for wands.....those were the days Patroclus could help but laugh at the three girls as they huddled together whispering Merlin knows what. They kept looking from the door, to Professors Lawson back to the door, and then to him. It all became quite clear; they were trying to escape. Piping up, not taking his eyes from the contents of his bowl as he whisked them to fluffy peaks, "Why don't you just ask to leave, this is a club not a class, i doubt he will keep you here against your will. Then again you could just pretend you ate off ingredients and have to go to the hospital wing." He dunked his pinky finger into the bowl to try the mixture, licking it off his finger he realised it need more coco powder. |
Aileen walked into the room and looked around. They will be cooking? Well that will be interesting since she hasn't ever cooked anything...She spotted some of her classmates that she had met earlier and of course a professor. "Hello, professor." she said quietly. Then she spotted some Ravenclaw girl. Quote:
|
Gabrielle came into the classroom - "Hello profesor".Oh, no way happy.Gabrielle hate Muggle.Greeted Mrs. professor sat down and listened.Next time all their instructions. |
Daniel arrived just in time... He had promised the Professor some help and he is thinking of doing it now. He then sat at the front of the room. He had seen this type of show on a muggle television once he was in Australia with his godfather, so he knows how the game is played. He smiled at the direction of the Professor and said, "Hello Professor, how are you?" |
Kate entered the room with excitement. There were people with bowls and spoons and other cooking stuff working on the tables. "Great! Cooking! I love to cook" She thought. Kate scanned the room looking for familiar faces, but she didn´t saw anyone. "Good morning Professor. I´m Katherine Pots, first year. Nice to meet you" She said, offering her hand to greet. "We can cook whatever we want to?" She asked, hopeful. "I have a delicious dessert recipe from Arabia to implement" |
Wesley!! Rhea had been skipping through her cook book trying to find the perfect recipe when Wesley walked in. She waved and smiled brightly at her little friend. Well wow she really wasn't all that little anymore. She most certainly had grown. She returned her attention back to her cook book and continued looking. Maybe she ought to make something different and sweet like Toto or maybe sweet potato pudding. Oh yes the professor would love that and so would she! |

Gracie/Katie, Marie/Mat, Ari/Willy Legend slowly entered the room, his eyes gazing down on the ground. Looking up slightly he noticed Katie, Mat and Free Willy all at a work station. Picking up his pace he walked right over and dropped his bag on the ground. Giving an small nod to William and Mat he focused back on the Professor. |
Haha. OMG. Not a good time to get sick Quote:

Marcus nodded at Legend as he made his way over to one of the work tables. Looking out over the students, Lawson's gaze rested on the three Slytherin girls and he chuckled under his breath. "Evelyn and Destiny no one is forcing you to stay here. If you wish to leave then there is the door." He looked at Evelyn for a moment longer knowing full well she wouldn't leave not if she wanted that candy re-created that is. "And Marie, I would just like to see you try and punch me in the nose." Lawson raised his eyebrow at her before turning his attention back to the rest of the students. "Welcome to all of you. Now as you can see for our first muggle activity we will be cooking...muggle style. Now as eager as you all are to get started, I think we need to familarise ourselves with our surroundings. So have a look on your workstation and check out all the utensils." ooc: Okay so first off I realise that there is a charms class running and you are doing cooking in there as well. Just remember that charms and muggle studies will be two different styles. Secondly your work station contains all the usual kitchen utensils. If your character doesn't know what something is, link a picture in your post and Lawson will explain what it is. |
Professor!, Mat/Mawie, Will/Ari & Legend/Dani; LOL, little group of coolness? XD Glancing up from searching through her bag, Katie smiled brightly at the Gryffindor. He seemed happy for a chance, it was refreshing! Though.. she had learned from experience by now, that could also mean he had eaten chocolate. Oh well, at least he was being his old-self. "Hey Mat. Because I'm the girl, and you boys.. are boys." the girl in the group, of course. It made perfect sense to her. Returning her eyes to her task, Katie made a face and gave up for a moment, hearing William's voice very close. "So Mat says," She nodded to agree, because.. it was true, of course. Swiping back a curl that had gotten loose of her ponytail, the Hufflepuff put her hands on her hips. Her expression was one of playfulness, "I have two hyper boys and-" Katie paused, noticing Legend's appearance, she raised an eyebrow. "-a grumpy one? Hey Legend." "I have a question for you guys," Katie announced, taking her bag from the countertop and moved it, along with Legend's, out of the way. "Does anyone have any thoughts on what we should make? A certain recipe, or anything? Because I think Professor Lawson is having us choose what we make, and if we are, we might want to start thinking about that now." The fourth year went quiet as Professor Lawson addressed the club, focusing her attention on what he said. Then turned back to As a thought came to her, Katie twirled around and raised her hand for politeness before asking, "Professor, it is alright if we work in groups, right?" |
yeah too...those peoples Why couldn't Katie ever shut up or leave him alone. Legend's green eyes glared at the Hufflepuff. GLARE. GLARE. Maybe she would get the point that she needed to STOP insulting him and shut up? Maybe? Reaching into his pocket he took out the familiar notepad and a Muggle pencil. Shut it. He wrote on the paper and showed her. Food? Food? What about MACARONI!!!! That was the best food ever. However Legend KNEW that Katie would say SOMETHING mean about it. It was Katie how could she not? What was the next best thing to Macaroni and cheese? Spaghetti and Leaning agaisnt the workstation he wrote one last note threw the pad at Katie and then crossed his arms. Why was she all OHH IM SOOO SMART IM IN CHARGE. ALL the time? The last note was simple it only had five words. I can cook. And right underneath it it said: You suck |
Evelyn, Marie, Patroclus, annnnnnd Lawson...phew! Oh no! Evelyn had said something that really made Destiny cringe. Kicking the Professor. Okay, so it was a known fact the she really did not like Lawson, and yeah, she would like to kick him sometimes, but that kick from last term was not something she wanted to think about at the moment. "No, I don't think she should kick him. Just stick to the original plan!" Whatever that was. Did they even have a plan? Too late for that now, though. At any moment the Professor was going to grow wings and leap onto the three of them. Wait a moment! Aliens don't have wings! Silly. Looking back at the Lawson minion, Destiny couldn't help but laugh. "Ask him to leave? Are you CRAZY!? He is going to EAT us!" He wouldn't let them leave. "Hey, what are you making there anyway?" she asked as she saw him taste whatever was in his bowl. It was probably some type of gravy that Lawson liked to pour onto the children he eats. And then the Lawsonator spoke! About her apron! "No, sir. It is not a joke. I haven't washed my hands yet and I probably won't either." Perhaps he wouldn't eat her if he knows she was dirty. And wait! He gave her..points! HAHA! In yo' face everyone! Destiny knew she was special for being the ONLY one wearing an apron! She couldn't help but wonder if he would have given out more points if she wore a chef hat, too. Next time, for sure! Now that she had points, there was no way she was leaving. Lawson was giving out housepoints, and she WANTED MORE! "I think I'll stay now." she said giving Evelyn a glare that told her to sit down too. Taking her cookbook off Marie, Destiny sat down at a work station and found the recipe she was going to work on. She snickered at Lawson's comment to Marie, and turned to face her other Slytherin friend, "And stomp on his toes." she whispered, then gave a quick thumbs up. Classic! Destiny was pretty familiar with all the utensils set before her. She had used them all at least once and was sure she knew what they all did. Picking up a wooden stirring spoon, she held it above her head, "This is a SPOON!" |
Destiny and...everyone else lol Original plan? What was the original plan? Either Marie was going to play dead, or she was going to kick the Professor! Whichever came first that is. But... Wait, what did that one guy say? Well they couldn't do what he said NOW! It would be quite obvious to know if they wanted to leave if they did all of that. Glancing around at everyone, Evelyn frowned before standing up straight again and looking utterly... Pssh. This was all a trick. First, he practically made her come to the club, and now, he's showing her to the door. Confusing! At least he didn't have the little human with him this time. That was one little plus side to all of this, and actually made it more bearable. She stood still in her spot, staring at the Professor for a few more moments, even though Destiny already left to go sit back down at the workstation, and debated whether or not she should...just go. But, that wouldn't happen. Sighing, and with a defeated posture, Evelyn dragged her feet back over to the workstation and plopped herself down on a seat. "Well done genius." she mumbled to Destiny before laying her head down on the counter before a muffle voice could be heard. "This...is a table." Just in case people didn't realize that fact either. |

WHAT!? Lawson was telling Destiny and Evelyn they could leave? No they can not leave, Marie won't let them. She was not about to stay in this club without them here now. NO WAY! NO HOW! How would she have fun if they weren't in class? Crud! He heard her say that? How could he have heard her when she whispered to Destiny? Did all these professors have super sonic hearing or something? 'I bet you'd like to see me try it... so you can throw me out of your little club here,' she thought. Like she would want to punch him now that he knew she was going to do it anyway. Pffft, what fun would that be? But wait... he didn't say anything about stomping on his foot. Did that mean he didn't hear her say that? Hmmm, she would have to wait for just the right time to hurt that foot of his, but she had lots of time, she could wait. He still had that coming for tricking Evelyn into coming to this ittle club of his.,, not to mention he was still the one responsible for making Evan leave last term. Ooohhh, that deserved a stomp on the other foot alone. Making her boyfriend leave like that. He probably told Evan not to write to her too. Glaring at Lawson, Marie went back to her work station next to Destiny and Evelyn, who had decided to stay. Yes, she was now on a mission... stomp on Lawson's foot.... and if she gets away with it then she will stomp on the other foot, you know, just to make sure he knew she meant business. |
Nymphy was a bit firmiliar with cooking. His uncle was never good, so fresh food was his responsibility. He took a shot in the dark! Nymphy raised his hand. "Professor.... Isn't this a whisk? or a whisckyer or something?" he said. He probably sounded stupid but at least he was trying. "Ooooooo.... and this is a laddle! I'm sure of it!!!!!!!!" he exclaimed. |

Gold was fine now, though. Which was exactly why she beamed at Professor Lawson, before letting him attend to the next student. Well, not attend. More like greet. How nice of him. Quote:
Gold quickly sorted through the stuff, on her own workstation. There was much of the usual, and some stuff she didn't recognize. Where was Mr. T? She needed her Baker Extraordinaire. She looked around the classroom, wondering if he was here. He had to be, he couldn't miss a club like that. Or cooking, you know. |

He relaxed when the professor moved on to talk to the other students. That was always a good thing. He wasn't going to be eaten then. This was going to be good, he thought. Learning how to cook. That was good. Food was good. Dillon looked up. Muggle cooking? Epp!! That was dangerous. He didn't even think his dad simply cooked the muggle way. He was going to lose his eyebrows for sure. He raised his hand, "Um professor do we have eyebrow insurance?" he asked meekly. |

Celandine peeked around the doorframe, her expression unusually timid. Cooking wasn't something she had any knack for whatsoever. One time she helped make a salad and stood near an oven while there was a cake in there... ... the thing was she didn't know there was a cake in there and the salad part all she'd done was shred lettuce and wash it. She chewed her lip as she glanced around. Was this a bad idea? Should she just... tiptoe away? |

'It's a chocolate fudge cake' she said 'My cook, Mrs Cavendish, used to make it all the time... I hope the recipe works. What are you making?' |
Libriana walked in and saw their task. She withdrew a recipe and got together the items to make it. She was a little skilled in this because her mother had taught her to cook the muggle way that way if she had to live in the muggle world she could at least make herself food. |

Mina and Marie. :] sort of. Evan smiled at Mina. "Sure." He was always open to new tastes and stuff. Talking about new tastes, he was sure that no one here had ever tried his recipes. They were Turkish meals, all delicious. His mom had those recipes, but she was never successful with them, and he looked forward to seeing if he could cook Turkish meal properly. He smiled brightly back at the professor when he greeted him. He was one of the few people the blondie wanted to see when he returned to school, along with Marie, whom he tried his best to avoid, but whom again always had to be where he was. His smile grew even bigger, as if that was possible, when professor answered so well to the trio of Destiny, Evelyn and Marie. Man had a style. He didn't forget to give a brief disapproving glance at Marie, who seemed to plan to hit Professor Lawson. The man was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Who would even want to be rude to him?! He examined all of the utensils carefully. He had a vague idea about their function. It was just a process of trial and error. He looked over everyone excitedly, skipping Marie's stare this time. Yep, this was going to be fun. |

Amy looked around her table ok so: she said listing off what was on the desk, this is a ladle, this is a mixing bowl, this is a piping tube, this is a sieve, this is a whisk and this is a set of spoons, she finished off, pointing to each one in turn and smiling |
Ericks walked towards the closest oven. He wondered whether he should ask for a partner... |
SPOILER!!: Tommeh <3 Woah.. Diggy was inventing cool magical sweets?! Oliver's eyes widened as he looked at the boy. “Awesome.” he replied. “I would totally buy those.” Totally. “You should go and see those Entrepreneur people at the jobs fair thing.” He suggested. Wait? Digz wanted to help make the cookies? Oliver screwed up his face. So much for his plan of scoffing the lot all by himself. Guh. But he wasn't going to refuse... not if Diggy had come without a recipe - cos that's what family was for, right? “We can make two batches.” Oh Oliver wasn't a cunning Slytherin for nothing. No siree. “I can eat these cos I'm making sugar free ones. But I'm supposed to avoid sugar. I have an allergy to it.” If you could count climbing the walls (literally sometimes) as an allergy. Oliver nodded as he listened to Digzy talk about Paris. He and the girl had never really got on smoothly. Stinging hexes were a regular thing when Oliver went to visit his brother and his family. He guessed the girl just didn't like his blunt honesty and sarcastic humour. They were such a cosy little family – Oliver did feel a twinge of jealousy as he listened to the shenanigans they all got up to. Quote:

His lips twitched into a small smile as he watched the girl head back to her work station. And that would be another win for Lawson. Again he rolled his eyes at the Slytherin's answer, "Ya think? "Alrighty first off I am going to show you how to slice and dice. Daniel, will be around in a moment with some carrots and celery for you to practice on. While he is doing that, I shall go through the different kitchen knives." Marcus stood behind his workstation and laid out all the knives onto his table. "This is your typical kitchen knife set. They each have a different use. Does anyone know what each knife is used for?" |
Evan raised his hand immediately. He did know the most obvious one. "The biggest one in size is for meats." 'Cause, y'know, they were boney and stuff, and flesh was in fact tough, unlike what many people thought. |
Oliver raised his hand. "Sir, the long serrated one is for slicing bread." This was like being in primary school again... and it was kinda fun. heh. |
Looking at the knives all laid out, Mina raised her hand. "The smallest one is used for peeling fruits and vegetables." The name of the knife was on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't quite grasp it. |
"The different types of knives are used to cut different meats using the fork for assistance to keep the meat in place and to know where you're cutting, however the small on is used for fruits and vegetables and the ones with teeth are used to cut different types of breads," Selena said. |
SPOILER!!: Katieluff Hmm, that was a good idea. He had never thought of that. Being a sweet maker, that would be totally sweet. "Hmm, maybe I will. I never thought of that. I could get Paris to help me with some of my experiential," Paris was the best potioneer he knew and she had the best lab, well outside of JoJo's. But his was for a gearhead not a potioneer. His face fell when Oliver said sugar free. Was there even a such thing as a sugar free cookie? "Yeah two batches sounds really good to me. I want sugar in mine." He wasn't going to waste a perfectly good cooking session on sugar free cookies. That was just wrong on all accounts. "Sugar is the best thing in the world why would you avoid it?" he asked him honestly. SPOILER!!: Iron Chef His eyebrows tingled for a bit and then the warmed up and then everything stopped. He looked up at the Professor. "Thanks, " he told him. He would have called him by name but he didn't know who he was. Diggy knew what one of the knives were for. "The boning knife is for boning out small cuts of meat and boning fish." He said with a raised hand. His sister had waved that kinda knife at him enough to know what it does. |
"You usually use the second to smallest one to cut steak with. At like...dinner or something." she said, recognizing that knife and pointing to it just so people knew which one she was talking about. It's like the only one she recognized too. Who uses those other HUGE knives anyway?! "Or any other food on your plate for that matter if you really feel like it." Omg! That's why they called it a steak knife! Because it cut steak! ...Genius! |
A chuckle burst out of Mat's lips when he heard that professor Lawson had remembered him. In his mind he was sure that no professor in Hogwarts knew him even though it was his fourth year here. He had been in the shadow for so long and never much participate in anything this amazed him. This didn't last long. As soon as he heard Katie's replied Mat rolled his eyes. Why does her answer were so annoying!! "Yeah! Yeah! Sure thing." Then he head snap when his brain register what Willie had said. What?! CHOCOLATE FROG!! "Hey Willie? You got any left on you right? RIGHT!!??" Oh man, he could totally have one right now. His stomach was always growling when he heard of chocolate. A grin reappear on Mat's face as he watch the exchange between his best bud and Katie. This was rather hilarious and he was sure that Katie didn't like it at all. But this was the point. So now they needed to look around at their station to see what they would be using and also come up with something to cook. URG!!!! What did he knew about cooking. Well nothing, zip. "Well Katie I'm good at tasting stuff." This must be a good thing, RIGHT! All kitchen needed someone to taste the product. If his memory was correct they call it testing the quality or something. Oh now it was time to listen to what professor Lawson had to say. He was pretty sure he would made a fool out of himself but that didn't matter as long as he was having fun. Raising his hand he said:" If a say a cheese knife am I right. I think they have variety of them. One for hard cheese, soft cheese and another one I think." Taking a good look at the ustensil he noticed that they had no cheese one. OH DRAT!!! Another mistake |
Jacob raised his hand enthusiasticly. He knew Knives... well kind of. "Isn't that big square one for cutting through big hunks of meat and bone" Wait what was the name. Was it a Butcher knife?...No he knew this. Nope... Never mind. He didnt know this |
Quote:
Arya looked at the knifes and only knew what two of them were used for. But seeing how they both had been mentioned, she just sat quietly and listened to the disscusion at hand. |
Yes the one for cutting bread is the big one with the serated edge proffessor amy said, remembering the accidents she had had with that one |
Quote:
Looking up at all the knives he had laying there Marie couldn't help herself. She raised her hand, "Well professor, I would say they are all used for cutting something That is except for the fork, it would be used for stabbing something." |
Quote:
"The four little one's that look the same, are simply your steak knives that are commonly used at your typical table settings..." Rafe looked at the other ones a little closely. He was only really familiar with the ones that cut meat. "The one between the Chef's knife and the stabby-one, is a carving knife if I recall? It's a thinner blade than the Chef's knife, enabling you to carve thinner, more exact slices." Rafe's mouth began to water at the thought of a rare Chateaubriand steak entered his mind. |
Destiny shook her head at Patroclus' offer of her helping him. She really didn't want to make brownies, since she didn't even like them things! Plus, she had already picked out a recipe she was going to use, and it was MUCH better than browines. "No thanks, I have my recipe riiiiiight here!" she said lifting her book up so he could see. Quote:
Jeeeez! Enough with the threats already! This was definitely the second time he had threatened Destiny with having students ATTACK her. The first time was in the class last term when they learned how to play football! "Fine." she scoffed and pushed her stool out, making sure the stool made that extra loud screeching noise as she did so. "I'll go wash my hands." She stalked her way over to the sinks, never taking her eyes off Lawson, and threw her hands in the water. Quote:
Like herself, perhaps. |
Rearranged a little bit =3 (Professor & THE boys - Legend, Mat & Will) Yup, Legend was a big grump. But Katie wasn't going to let that bother her, because they were all going to have fun. Grump or no grump. "Spaghetti?" The Hufflepuff read outloud for Mat and William to hear, though her gaze went from the muggle pad of paper to Legend. Both surprised and impressed he had crossed out meatballs after writing that thought down, rather then take a chance of offending or annoying her. She nodded her approval, dark eyes turning to find Will and Mat's reaction. "What do you two think about that? We should make the sauce a little more special though, not just tomato; that's too easy. I have a recipe in my bag somewhere for that.. I wasn't sure what we should make, so I wrote home and asked mum to send it just in case." Katie turned back to fish through her bag, "I also borrowed a muggle recipe book from the library, if you guys don't like Legend's suggest-" the young girl stopped short of finishing her sentence, pausing when Legend's notepad hit her. Giving him THAT Katie look, she huffed and bent to grab it. "Oh? I didn't know." She answered in a false innocent tone, smiling as she handed it back and resisted the urge to stick her tongue out. Her attention turned to Mat as he spoke, she gave another small nod. "Okay. Well, that's good." Because depending on how things went, Katie might want the boys to taste test whatever they made first. Clearly, Mat was a new to cooking. And that was okay. "Don't worry, cooking isn't hard. It's.. kinda like potions! You have to have patience, and pay attention, and stuff. It's easier then it sounds." She added, trying to encourage the boy's happy mood and enthusiasm towards their task. Quote:
Whatever interaction he witnessed between the four of them, it would be normal. For them. Turning to their own set of kitchen knives, Katie studied them without touching. She raised her hand before speaking up, "The longest, staight, skinny one in the front is usually used for cutting bread, or other foods that are harder outside and softer inside. And the big fat, square-ish one is for cutting thick meats and stuff, I think?" |
"Hmmmmm......I'm pretty sure that the short curvy one is for small slices. its called a parting or parning or paring knife or something!" he said, less sure than his last repsonce. Nymphy had only seen his mother use it once to peel an apple. |
Huh? Aileen looked blankly at the knife set. There is so many knives? What for? At home they only used two or three different types-for normal cutting and for meat. Yes and the smallest one was for...fish? She raised her hand. "Professor, I think that the smallest one has something to do with fish and the sixth from the left is for cutting meat." |
