"I mean me and my Cousin." He giggled. "But if you want to read it you can later, there's nothing important in the letter, we just wanted to know why my father and my uncle has spoken to each other when they hadn't spoken since me and my cousin was like 5 and now they are talking like they haven't been an argument." Simon sighed. "Thanks." He smiled as he took a brownie and then went into his bag. "Want a Mars Bar?"

Yeah go on then, amy took the bar and bit in ooh this is good she said mouth full, I haven't had one of these in ages thanks she smiled and stood, up put the book away then she went back to her chair I'm going to bed now before I collapse she smiled at him have fun with your letter she said waving as she walked towards the stairs, see you tomorow she got round the corner where he couldn't see and blew him a kiss?? What the hell is going on with me? She said outloud as she walked to her dorm

Simon watched Amy leave the Common Room, he had no idea what he was going to do now. "See you in the morning Amy." Simon said as she left, he then put the letter down in his bag and got a book out of his bag, he started to read the book now, wondering why he couldn't stop smiling when Amy was in the room.

Cadence's spirits began to fall at the look of utter confusion and disbelief etched on Melanie's face. Was it so hard to believe that there might be multiple boys who would be interested in being with her? Immediately, Cadence felt the need to go on the defensive, which was something she had never had to do with Lanie before. "It's not like we broke up, and I immediately found someone new. It had been, like, four months or something, Lanie. And Nate and I DO keep in touch... as friends. When he left, I told him that I wasn't going to make any promises about not dating other people. I've changed a lot since last year when Nate and I started dating. Why not be with someone who's a better fit for the new me? Nate is a nice guy, and he was a great boyfriend, but Jude and I just... fit together somehow," she finished with a sigh.

She would go into all the details about why Jude was such a perfect fit for her, but she wasn't sure Lanie cared much for those details. The important part was she, Cadence, was happy with Jude. Did she want Melanie to approve? Yes. Did she have to? No because it was Cadence's decision. Torin like Jude, her parents liked Jude, and it would be great if Melanie liked Jude, too, but she didn't have to. Cadence was going to be herself and be happy.

"It's nice to meet you Sophia. I can't wait for classes. Our first one is DADA. I love that class." Kay said smiling.

"HI Arya. How was your summer?" Kay asked glad to see her friend. "You ready for DADA class?" She asked

"Cool! DADA is really the subject I'm looking for -- well, Charms and Transfiguration too." Sophia said excitedly. Interested in the subject, she asked, "How was your DADA classes for the last two years? Were they challenging?"

Hannah walked into the common room. She looked around, unsure who to talk to. She felt awkward after what had happened on the train and had barely come out of her dormitory at all.

Hannah walked up to an empty chair by the fire feeling self-concious, she sat down and watched it burn.

Melissa looked down at the ground and shuffled into the common room. She was still annoyed about the points. Stupid Dungbombs! Sighing slightly she looked up to see Hannah in a armchair, by the fire. She blinked rapidly and stopped in her position, woah, Hannah!

Still stood, she moved slowly towards her. "Er, hey Hannah," she spoke.

Amy walked down the stairs and fell into her familiar arm chair, she shut her eyes and listened to the hubub that she would get used to, something flared in her memory and she opened her eyes, looked her watch and sighed, Defence against the dark arts wasn't for hours, happy that she could relax, Amy shut her eyes

"Hey," Hannah said smiling warmly. She was glad to see a friendly face even if it wasn't someone she knew particularly well yet.
Then she remembered she'd been meaning to ask someone...
"Have you seen Lily-Anne recently? I haven't really spoken to her since..." Hannah tailed off. She wondered if everyone knew about what had happened.

"It's Melissa by the way, I don't know if you remembered or anything," Melissa slightly laughed, but smiled back at her. Lily-anne? Not recently, the last time she did was before Jay nearly kissed her. Glup, she shouldn't really tell that to Hannah, and she wasn't going to. "Erm, I have seen her but I haven't seen her today, sorry," she apologised to her. "Oh and Lily-anne sent a letter to you know," she spoke then whispered, "your dad," she leaned backwards with an apologetic look on her face.

"Melissa. Right! I'll have to remember that," Hannah said, then she frowned.
"Has she got a reply? What did she say to him?!" She then added quickly, not stopping to think about being polite...

Melissa chuckled at her, but frowned too. "Erm, I dunno she never said anything to me," she spoke sadly.

Avery was working on writing a note to her mother when she heard Cady's voice. "Hey Cady! I thought I heard you!" Avery rolled up her parchment and walked over to her and who ever she was talking to. "Have you seen Nymphy at all? I kind of miss him." Avery blushed a litte she hadn't realized how much she liked Nymphy untill she was away from him over the summer...she had yet to decide what that meant. "What have you been up to?" Avery hadn't seen in a couple days. She was wondering how she was doing.

Oh. Cedric forgot to introduce himself. "Ah, I'm Cedric Nicholas Leone, but you can call me Ced, yep. And I'm a fifth year." He smiled as she told him she had seen him before. He had seen her before, on classes and such. "Things happens. I've seen you before too." He stated earnestly. She'd better not know why he said 'things happens'. It would be crucial on his part.

"Seems like you like Astronomy. I like that subject. I had once lost twenty points for being late in that class when I was a first year. And I started hating the class but now... I like it." 'Nuff said. Hehe. Ced didn't like telling or confessing too many personal things to a person you'd just met and he hated interfering people too. He himself liked interfering and getting a nose of other people's businesses ages ago but he wasn't like that anymore.

"Thanks." He smiled as he gently took the damp tissue from the girl. And then he started wiping it on his hand.

"Torin!" Sarah scrambled through the portrait hole and into the common room, spotting her fellow Prefect sitting on the couch.Was she late? Oohhh, she might be, you know.Glancing at her watch, she wandered over to him and took in how many 'Puffs were in the room. "Sorry I'm a little late," she smiled, taking the seat next to him for a moment. "Not a great number of people here, but do you wanna start? Not sure when Miranda will get here..."

Okay, I have no idea what to put so here it goes...
 

Melissa wandered into the common room and looked around it. Torin and Sarah were there looking like they were about to start this 'meeting' of their's but where was Miranda? Wasn't she meant to be here too. And plus Melissa had no idea what was this meeting about anyway.

Amy wandered through and saw the prefects sitting near each other, they seemed to be waiting for someone, oh well nothing to do with me, she thought as she plonked down infront of the fire and warmed her feet

Amy sat up and turned around waiting for the prefects to speak

Melanie sunk into her seat a little, looking down at her shoes, as Cadence began to explain, suddenly feeling unbelievably guilty. She didn't know why. After all, Melanie had only been a little surprised (okay, maybe a bit more than a little) that Cadence had managed to get over the catastrophe with Nate as quick as she did after she had watched her become so upset over it. It was a good thing, of course...

She didn't know why the way she reacted the way she did, she just did. Cadence's words cleared up her confusion a bit, though. Melanie bit her lip, not enjoying the fact that she had clearly, though unintentionally, done something to upset her friend.

"I'm sorry." Melanie murmured, frowning. She looked up from her shoes, making eye contact with Cadence. "Cady, I didn't mean anything by it, you know. I think it's great you're moving on and all. I'm not sure why I was surprised..." she trailed off. "At any rate, I didn't mean to upset you." Melanie gave her a soft smile.

Melanie was temporarily distracted as Torin, one of the Hufflepuff prefects, spoke. The girl twisted around in her chair to see Sarah, the other prefect, standing next to him. She raised an eyebrow slightly, quiet and listening. Melanie was curious as to what they had to say.

Karly turned in her seat to listen to what the older students had to say

"It's fine," Cadence replied, waving away Lanie's apologies. "I'm not upset. I was just... explaining," she said, giving Melanie a smile. She had probably come across as a bit more upset than she actually was, but Jude was a great guy. Melanie would see that when she met him.

Cadence looked up from her chair when she heard a voice. Before Cadence could even give the girl a greeting, though, Avery was already asking about Nymphy, and she couldn't help but smile a little. Then she moved on to asking Cadence what she'd been up to, and she opened her mouth to respond again, but then she heard...

Turning in her chair, she looked over to where Torin was standing, wondering what was up. This probably had something to do with the bad behavior in classes. This would be an interesting conversation for sure. Crossing her legs, she looked at the prefects, giving them her full attention. The rest of her conversation with Melanie would have to wait.

Oooooh, Torin Kane being masterful.Now Sarah could see why Brody liked him.

Returning his nod, she stood at the same time, best to look like a team that way.Although his raised voice echoed in her ears slightly more than if she'd been sat down still, but no matter.When he'd finished, and hopefully got everyone's attention - Merlin help them if they WEREN'T listening - Sarah started the little speech., again with a slightly raised voice.

"I'm going to get straight to the point here - Defence lesson one," she gave them all a stern look, clasping her hands in front of her. "Those of you that were there will no doubt have noticed how much chattering was going on before class started, and how the Prefect's repeated requests for quiet were ignored.Now I'm not saying it was just you lot responsible, but WE," she gestured to Torin, then herself, "are responsible for you.We love the fact that you new students are making friends, but class is not the time to talk to them.Professor Truebridge may not have taken points this time, but he may next time, and so might other teachers.We're already in the minuses, and that can't continue....Torin?" Sarah looked across to her fellow Prefect, giving him a nod to let him know it was his turn.
