Torin wasn't really sure how he managed to wander back inside after what had happened, but he figured that if he stayed here he would be okay. hopefully not too many people would come around here, and if they did... well, maybe they wouldn't know that he had made a spectacle of himself. Well, at least Brody hadn't seen it. He was glad of that much.

Swishing her dress, Gold pounced upon Mr. T. Because she had seen him, and he needed a good, tackle!hug. He wasn't meant to be upset, you know. Tonight was - and rightly - a good night. So once she had hugged Mr. T to heart's desire, she finally pulled away and was pretty, pretty glad that she had charmed her dress beforehand.

"Hey, handsome."
.... Why was he being hugged?
Not that he really cared because at least a hug was better than people laughing at him like they had been before.
"Hey, Gold." He felt better when he realized who it was. Gold would never make fun of him and laugh. He knew that much. She was good like Miranda was.

"Hey." Gold grinned up at him, much taller than usual in her sparkly, new heels, but still not as tall as him. Which was understandable, of course. Since Mr. T was well over six feet, and Gold didn't really want to look that tall, even with super awesome high heels.
Only guys look good, that tall.
"I saw you didn't look too happy, earlier." She reached out to hug him again. Lots of hugs! Since tonight was meant to be good, and hugs are good. "Don't ruin your mood because of others, Mr. T. You should be happy, tonight." She twirled his tie, beaming up at him.

He wished he was in a better mood as she hugged him, but he wasn't really. Though he still felt better than he had before. And that was good. Eating more food would help as well. He just would have to make sure not to go crazy.
"But everyone was laughing at me. They still will laugh at me." And it hurt.

Gold frowned. "You don't always have to care about everyone," she said softly. "People aren't always good, Mr. T. If you let them decide your mood, you'll find yourself much, much unhappier than you are now, or could ever want yourself to be. Do you really want to look back on this night, ten years from now, and think that it was such a wonderful one, and you didn't enjoy it because you let other people hurt you?"
She poked his forearm with a finger. "Come on, let's forget everything else and have lots of chips and biryani."

NO, NO. Those were bad thoughts. The kind she ought not to be having.
Quickly masking her feelings, she turned a bright face towards him once more. “You know you won’t even get to dance alone. You need to please the masses.” He was a famous Quidditch player and all! “I’m sure there will be lots of people willing to dance with you.” She informed him with a small smile, before letting out a small chuckle at his dancing.
Not really working, no. But it was a beginning.
A few more people had wandered over to the food table and so the butt shaking came to an abrupt stop. Hey, he still had a reputation to keep, y'know! It was worth risking that reputation to get that small chuckle from Evangeline though, and Clifford sent her a swift, playful wink. Hehe.
"Oh yeah? Big shame for those others then, cos there's only one person that I want to dance with." And who was that? HER of course.

Cue pretty smile.
She had a point. He would give her that. "Okay, I think that food is a good idea." He loved food. It always made him feel better about things. "What's biryani?"

What made Evangeline chuckle more? Noticing the way Clifford stopped his dancing when more people approached the table. He didn’t want to disappoint his young fans, eh? Or he didn’t want ‘Rising Quidditch star shows his moves at Hogwarts Alumni Ball’ to be the headline of the next day’s page six. Evangeline didn’t blame him.
But it still amused her. Hehe.
That didn’t stop her from raising one eyebrow at his words, though, and approaching him, she pressed her lips to the corner of his. “Don’t be silly. I’ll be satisfied in taking you home tonight.” There was no way he only wanted to dance with her. Pssh.

Aww. Trust Mr. T to cheer up, at the mention of food. Especially if it was good food. It was like she and Mr. T were food!kins, or something. They definitely shared a love for baked goods.
"Ethnic cuisine," she said, leading him to where a big bowl of Biryani sat. Fried, golden-brown rice, with awesome spices and lots of deliciously-cooked chicken. "You know you want to try some." Gold definitely wanted to try all the awesome, ethnic cuisine at the food table.
Though she had had a taste of most of it before. She had been on the Food Committee, after all.
"I wasn't really-," Selena then shook her head with a small smiled on her face, "nevermind, it was nothing of relevance," she said simply.
"What's wrong with dinosaurs?" Selena teased. She thought they were rather cute sometimes. Depending of course. "The library is amazing," Selena nodded. Sometimes she would slip between the pages and fall into another world. She noticed that Miss Antigone was scanning the great hall. "Miss Antigone, if you are looking for someone, there's no need to stay here if you wish to look around," Selena said politely. She probably saw an old friend or something.
Tiggy laughed heartily and looked down at the girl. "The problem is not with dinosaurs themselves... the problem is a 30 something man wanting to sleep on the sheets. He is ridiculous sometimes," she laughed.
Then with a sigh she realized maybe she should mingle a bit. "Well, I am looking for someone but when she gets here everyone will know it, that is for sure. But it was lovely talking with you and I wish you luck in all your future endeavors, my dear. I am sure you will do well, though. Indeed," Tiggy told her and gave her a little pat on the arm. Cute little teacup person was pretty cool.
With one last piece of shrimp popped into her mouth, chewed and swallowed she set off to mingle through the alumni to see if she knew anyone.

Selena thought dinosaurs were awesome. But maybe it was just her. "Thank you," Selena said, "It was lovely chatting with you Miss Antigone," she said with a curtsy before the tall lady left.
Selena herself just looked around for anything not seafood. Chocolate? She was definitely for that. Chocolate, chocolate. Just needed to make sure it didn't get on her dress, actually, she could care less. Selena then decided not to eat the chocolate. Maybe she should just go for a walk around or something...

He looked at the food as she described it. He hadn't had it before, but it looked rather nice. So he grabbed a plate and started heaping some on it. Yummy food. hehe.
"You know, being on the food committee was amazing."
Elizabeth couldn't help but grin as she heard Robert's stomach growl just at the sight of food. And even more as he responded to her teasing with some of his own. "No it's not," she said impishly back, before giggling a little as he piled food on his plate indiscriminately. At least it was a little bit distracting from the weird awkwardness of the conversation with Mari. But then she had to go back to it, as Mari spoke again. "You should. Maybe you could help me actually get her out more," she said, letting her concern over her cousin override the weirdness temporarily. And if Mari could talk art with Rhiannon, maybe it would be easier. Going back to the food, she selected a few strawberries, with chocolate from the fountain. And a quesadilla. And then one of the smoothies.
"I don't remember either," she said in response to Mari's answer to her question about the owls. She didn't miss Robert's chuckle, either, and she shot him a look. It wasn't her fault she didn't remember. Half the time she'd been more concerned over him finding out how she was sending the messages. She could only borrow Rhiannon's owl so many times, and she certainly didn't own her own. But there was one at home. Hence the stickiness, especially since he still seemed weird about Mari. But then he was actually answering Mari's question, and she leaned against the table herself as she munched on one of the strawberries.
It was true, though, that they didn't always see each other that often. When he was actually playing, she was more often bouncing around the house by herself. Or, more accurately with Bella, Macavity and the other pets. Which made the fact Mari had been so far away worse, since it meant she couldn't even see her. And her eyes widened at the envy she could sense from her best friend as she responded to Robert. It sort of worried her, a little, especially with what she knew went on in Mari's own life. And then Cayden was actually brought up, and Elizabeth glanced back at Mari with her own calm mask droping over her features. "Oh, did he? That's too bad," she said. There really was no love lost between her and Cayden. Even before she'd ended up with Robert. She tried to stay civil, though. It wasn't worth making things harder for her best friend.

He asked with a smirk and an innocent look on his face. Leaning down to kiss her cheek, whispering in her ear, "Now sweetie...you're supposed to be my shining example of good behaviour." He pulled back and smirked with a raised eyebrow teasingly almost completely forgetting Mari was anywhere near them.
Listening to the talk about Liz's cousin and then about the letter's sent to Mari his eyebrows raised as something dawned on him. "Wait...Liz...how have you been sending owl's to Mari anyway?" Especially since he always brought Snowball with him when he went out of town for matches.
As he heard Mari speak about it being good he was able to spend time with Liz now he caught the envious look that passed briefly over her face. And only felt a moment of smugness in that fact. His lips pursed slightly as Cayden was brought up and he didn't speak. Too bad indeed. He hated that guy with a passion. He basically ruined his last year or so of school. Thank god for Liz. He looked at Liz and busied himself with eating.
Mari eyed Elizabeth closely for a second as she made that remark about Rhiannon. Hm. That sounded like there was more of a story there than could be told over small talk and party food. Perhaps she should pay Elizabeth and her cousin a visit. If only to get out of her own house. " I'll stop by sometime. I remember liking Rhiannon and one can't ever have enough friends." She said with a small smile.
Robert and Elizabeth then did that...thing that happy couples are prone to. The sliding into their own pocket of existence for a few minutes..thing. Mari looked away for a moment, only because it was awkward for her even if she didn't show it at all in her expression. She'd always been quite good at keeping the majority of her emotions shut away anyhow.
" I hope I haven't gotten you into trouble," Mari teased as she heard Robert questioning Elizabeth about the owling. " She's a smart girl Robert. Probably smarter than both you and I so I would wager she'd figure out a way to send me letters." She said with a smile, continuing her bit of teasing. As Elizabeth responded to her terse explanation concerning Cayden's absence, Mari pressed her lips together a moment. " He wouldn't have enjoyed himself anyway. He prefers to be around the house when he's not at work." She said with a light shrug. Noting Roberts silence and Elizabeth's awkwardness, she made a resolution. Right. No more bringing up Cayden. " I wonder who else will show up to the ball." She said, looking around the room now for a moment. " And Robert, I'm afraid I'll be stealing Elizabeth from you later. I'll need someone to dance with." She said, trying to bring the conversation back around to something..neutral.

Tia made her way to the food table and sighed she hoped that Ryan was okay while she was having fun at the ball and well she hoped that she could see some of her friends soon or old friends qudditch kept her pretty busy nowdays
Francesca had made an escape from the people gathering in the Entrance Hall to get some food since she had YET to eat anything that day. Observing the food, she eyed the quesadillas and grinned. "Oh my gosh they have legit quesadillas are you serious right now." Fran was a huge fan of quesadillas so she grabbed a plate and picked up a couple of quesadillas. "At least this food looks decent. I thought it was going to be terrible to be honest."

Quesadillas. Celestina could see and smell the cheese from where she stood. Crossing herself, the Irish witch made sure to take one cautionary step away from Fran and her Killer Quesadilla. She was certain that if she so much as sniffed too much cheese she would end up with cramps.
Sighing, she glanced down at the table. Her options were....almost non-existent. Chips or fruit and vegetables.
Eh. Grabbing a plate of sliced apples, Bucky humorlessly popped a slice into her mouth. "If I recall correctly," she spoke around her food. "Pretty sure Hogwarts' food has been the best food I've had."
Fran eyed Bucky as she picked up the sliced apples. Why would you EVER pick sliced apples over some of this food here unless you were sick or something? It wasn't Fran's place to judge though. "I missed the food here ya know? Along with a lot of other things that used to be here but we're not speaking of those. So what are you doing now that you're out of this place? I imagine something extremely exciting since from what I remember, you were an eccentric person who liked artsy stuff or something like that." Fran couldn't be bothered to remember every single detail about the people she encountered at Hogwarts. In fact, she barely remembered her professors in the first place.
Daphne's stomach was rumbling the moment she stepped into the Ball, so one of her first stops was to the buffet. She saw plenty of traditional English cuisine, but she was more intrigued by the unique foods from different cultures.
She gingerly picked up a plate and put several types of dumplings on it. She loved dumplings a lot. Then she found some sort of fries with toppings, which she eagerly added. She scanned the massive table, uncertain how to fit all these things on her plate.
Ama!Nabs IS NAMED MINHO & Is SO Black Panther Right Now
Fine. If they were not speaking of those, whatever those were, they were not speaking of them. Celestina wasn't one to pry into stranger's lives before one in the morning.
"Exciting," mumbled Bucky before snorting. She inspected Fran out of the corner of her eyes before facing her fully. "Not exactly. I've basically just worked a bunch of odd jobs to save up money. You wouldn't know how horrible it is to dress up as a crab during rush hour."
Celestina pouted at the chocolate. What had been that spell Jamie used to make things....not dairy-fied. That was so milk chocolate, wasn't it?
"Anyways, um, yeah, then I had some kind of like open house gallery event. I invited everyone I could remember from Hogwarts. Sorry about that," she apologized extending a hand and resting it briefly on Fran's shoulder. "Guess you didn't pop into my mind at that moment. Anyways, the sales from there couples with what I saved let me open my own photography studio!"
There! That's as exciting as her life got. It wasn't like she hunted wild creatures as a hobby. Although, she really could offer her services in capturing Unicorns. That was an easy galleon.
"Actually I would know what it's like to wear a crab suit during rush hour. Summer job I had right after I graduated I worked for this quidditch stadium and the team's mascot was a pygmy puff. Needless to say the team was terrible and I had to dress up as a pygmy puff and talk to small children. Worst job I've ever had to be honest." Francesca snorted and took a sip of drink. Thank god she didn't have to put up with kids anymore. Not physical kids anyway since some of the players she put up with were almost like small children. "Eh it's okay. I get free tickets to Quidditch games since I'm an official for most of the matches stateside but I never have anyone to invite ya know? You should come to a match sometime. I hope this next season I get to officiate my first international match so I can get tickets to THOSE games for free." Fran's eyes widened when Bucky said she had her own photography studio. "I wish I was better at taking pictures. I'm honestly terrible, I'm one of those amateurs who tries too hard with a plain point and shoot camera. It's terrible."
Ama!Nabs IS NAMED MINHO & Is SO Black Panther Right Now
HA. So Fran WHATEVERHERLASTNAMEIS knew exactly what it was to dress up as a crab and cater to little bratty children. Bucky was currently chuckling over this mental image while chewing on an apple slice before she dropped her plate on the table.
Celestina stared at Fran, half a chewed slice of apple trapped between her teeth.
FREE QUIDDITCH TICKETS?! Coughing, Bucky extended her hands and captured the fallen apple. It took her a while to recover before, she looked up at Fran with a neutral expression, the corners of her mouth wet with some dribble. "Cool. About Quidditch that is."
Before she could put her foot in her mouth, Celestina decided to occupy that space with something worthwhile--like more apple. "Yeah, some people just aren't really good at it," she spoke honestly. "Let the professionals do it, you know what I mean? That's what they're there for."
Francesca was contemplating something. They didn't exactly have a photographer for team portraits in the states since the last one the Ministry hired ended up breaking protocol by creeping on players in the locker room. As hot as the players were, Fran would never compromise her job over that since if she was even caught with a player from her country, she would be dismissed. "How would you like to fly out to the states and apply to be the official photographer for our quidditch teams? Our last photographer was dismissed so we're currently looking for a new one. I can't exactly give you the job since it's not my place but I'm fairly good friends with the guy you would be working for so you're almost guaranteed the job. He'd just need to see some sport photography if you have any of it in your portfolio." 'Fairly good friends' in Francesca's world meant she just needed to talk him in her own special way i.e. threaten him.
Ama!Nabs IS NAMED MINHO & Is SO Black Panther Right Now
Quick, Warbuck! Put some apple in your mouth!
Obeying her conscious' orders, Celestina stuffed three slices of apple into her mouth before she could say something atrocious like: I don't want to move to the United States though!I have to work under a man? That's so SEXIST and Does Vannacutt posing for Witch Weekly in his natural attire count as Sporty Photography?
"I guess, I can arrange a trip. I've never been to the states. I don't do Trans-Continental traveling. I don't do much Apparating, period. I try to use port-keys as much as possible. Too many splinching accidents. Wonky ear," she finished, pointing at her right ear. It was missing the top bit. How very charismatic.
"And um...I guess, I can show you my portfolio sometime."
Honestly, though, considering she was Vannacutt's girl-friend, friend who is a girl--was it a good idea to do so? Bucky didn't know.
Was she...bored or just uninterested in the job? Francesca couldn't quite pin what Bucky was doing at the moment. Maybe she was containing her excitement? Yeah. That's what she was going with because there's no way anyone would pass that type of opportunity if they were of sound mind. "We would cover your hotel expenses and everything while you were in the states. The only things you would need to bring with you are your portfolio and clothes. Food and everything would be covered by us and you would be staying in New York City which is where our headquarters is." Francesca nodded and took another bite of quesadilla. They really needed this back home but she wasn't exactly supposed to be WORKING while on 'vacation'. Her job was amazing, though so it wasn't like it was a hassle. It was just bothersome for someone at times, especially when conquests took her out on dates and all she really cared to talk about was the last match she called.
