Professor Carlton, had made the Charm look easy, but that after all was her Job. Patroclus wondered if he would be as successful as she had been. Removing his wand from its place in his robe sleeve, Patroclus cleared his throat, and moved his wand anti-clockwise around his mouth and nose, proclaiming the incantation, “Viseo Ebullio”. A small bubble appeared sitting around his lips, not knowing what to do he held his lips close tight, trying to preserve the bubble, however the tiniest breathe from his nostril sent the bubble popping. "Viseo Ebullio” Patroclus tried again, this time he was successful, the bubble surrounded both his mouth and his nose, but as he breathed in, the liquid walls of his bubble, quivered and popped. "Viseo Ebullio" with a strong wand movement he uttered the spell once more and this time was tremendously successful. The bubble encapsulated his mouth and nose, and swelled and contracted as he breathed. Patroclus found the sensation rather odd, here he was in a room filled with breathable area, breathing through a bubble chamber attached to his face.

Carter heard some arguing coming from the Destiny and Marie direction. And... It looked like he was being mentioned. He sunk down in his seat a bit. But that didn't really do much. There had got to be something else he could do...
Then a brilliant idea hit him. He could just ignore the situation, right? He pointed his wand at his ear, then making a counter-clockwise circle he said "Viseo Ebullio." Ha! Now he couldn't hear Destiny out of his right ear. Brilliant. He did the same thing to his left ear.
It worked! It seemed like Destiny was now going to be his inspiration for something-he-didn't-want-to-hear-so-he'd-make-a-bubble charm. Now that he had peace and quiet it was time to practice on his mouth again. "Viseo Ebullio." he said making a counter-clockwise motion around his mouth. A large bubble soon formed. He waited a few seconds and then said, "Finite!" while pointing his wand to his face. Then all three bubbles burst.
Oh, well. It was good while it lasted.

"We're going to start by practicing the incantation and wand movement for the charm," she told the class. To demonstrate, Lexi raised her wand and pointed it toward her face. "Viseo Ebullio," she said. As she spoke the incantation, her wand traveled in a counter-clockwise motion around the area she wanted the bubble to form in. Pretty soon, she was standing in front of the class with a fully formed bubble around her face.
She pointed her wand toward her face once again and said, "Finite." The bubble burst, and Lexi's face was once again back to its normal appearance.
"Now as you just saw, the charm can be ended by pointing your wand toward your face and using Finite. That's if, of course, you want to end the charm before it wears off," she said. "It's hard to say just how long this charm will stay in place on its own. It depends on the person casting it and their ability to use magic. If you're older and have been studying magic for a while, the charm will stay in place longer. If you haven't been studying magic long at all, your charm will likely disappear a lot sooner."
"You'll know when the charm is starting to wear off when you feel the bubble growing smaller and smaller. At that point, you need to get to safety---whether it be the surface of water or some area that's not polluted with...horrible smells," she continued. "Go ahead and take some time to practice the charm now. Practice it a few times and try ending it yourself and letting it wear off on its own."
Oh, snap. Had she zoned out, or what? Gold frowned, mentally scolding herself as she focused herself back on to the lesson and, dipping her quill in the PINK! ink she was always used, took a few notes. It was nothing very advanced, but lists can come in handy.
Watching Professor Carlton demonstrate the spell, Gold copied the wand-movement that she already knew pretty well. Counter-clockwise motion, around the target area. That much was pretty easy. So would be the spell, since Gold already had the hang of it.
She pointed her wand at her neck and then, from that point, began to raise it above, letting it travel in a smooth, swift counter-clockwise circle. "Viseo Ebullio." She got it right, as she had expected, at the first try. Gold eyed the bubble now around her head, before pointing her wand at it, casting a quick Finite, and pointing her wand at her hand. Her right hand, obviously; since the left was holding her wand.
"Viseo Ebullio."
Now her right hand was enclosed in a bubble. Gold chuckled, and raised it in the air. "Professor, can I try the spell non-verbally?" she asked. "I can already manage it verbally."
Jessica grab her wand and tried to practice. She knew it'll be pretty difficult to do such thing. "Viseo Ebullio!" She said doing the wand movement clockwise and it did'nt work!, "Oh Come on!" She tried to do it again. She thought it was her wand movement. "Viseo Ebullio!!!"She cast the charm again with the other way - the counter clockwise motion. ANd it was pretty well done. She was super duper glad she made it. Her eyes were almost going to pop out from her skin, when she saw the bubble forming on her head. Finally, she said, "Finite!" pointing to her head. she grinned. She was obviously merry to do it again. "Viseo Ebullio!" .............., "Finite", she did keep on doing the charm one after another, the bubble was like to appear and burst, again and again.

Grayson had actually managed to pay attention during the whole discussion, even though she hadn't suggested anything. It hadn't seemed necessary, and she wasn't the type to repeat other people's answers. But the bubblehead charm definitely sounded interesting. Watching as Professor Carlton demonstrated the wand movement, and told them the incantation, she started thinking of all the ways she could use the spell. Definitely more than just if she wanted to go underwater.
But first she had to see if she could cast the spell. Mentally telling herself she could, she took her wand from its holster, and imitated Professor Carlton's counterclockwise loop, centering it around her head. "Viseo Ebullio," she said, trying to make sure her intent was there. Maybe it would make the spell stronger. And a faint smile crept onto her face as a bubble appeared around her head, distorting things around her a little. That was weird. Before she could think much more about it, though, the bubble popped, and her expression turned thoughtful. Maybe she hadn't tried hard enough or something. Distracted for a moment as she watched Celandine cast the spell, then change the color of the bubble, she sighed. I know I can do this, she thought, before a determined expression came to her face. "Viseo Ebullio!," she cast again, moving her wand counterclockwise around her head again. And as the bubble reappeared, she held her breath for a moment. Please don't pop, she thought, and after a few seconds she carefully released her breath. Yay. Now to see how long it would last.

By now Arya was able to cast a decent sized bubble over her face, stretching over her the majority of her face. But she couldn't get it to hold for long, atleast not long enough to shield her from anything nor provide air long enough if she were underwater. As the last bubble dissapeared from her face, she waited a moment before pointing the wand at her face.
Moving her wand in a circular motion over her face, she soflty said. "Viseo Ebullio." A small clear bubbled formed over her face from her nose down. Twirling her wand, she waited for the bubble to dissapear while looking at her spider explore the classroom. After a minute of two the bubble was gone. Still unphased by this she simple kept casting until she was able to substain the bubble for more than four minutes, that was her goal for the class.

Victoria wrote down everything that they talked about for the lesson before pulling out her wand. She heard that the Bubbe-Head Charm was pretty advanced, but she tried to keep herself confident that she could do it. With a small sigh, she pointed her wand at her head. "Viseo Ebullio."
...Nothing. She may have stressed a letter or two out in the name or something because her wand didn't travel counter-clockwise around her face.
Alexandrie smiled as the charm wore off a full 120 seconds after being casted, 2 minutes! She was proud of herself, from 20 seconds to 2 minutes was pretty good she personally thought. She casted the charm again, "Viseo Ebullio." with her wand having traced counter clockwise over her head. The bubble appeared and she focused pointing her wand in her face, "Finite." she casted but nope didn't pop, "Finite." This time the bubble poped a couple of more times and she would have it down completely.
Dianna listened to the Professor as she demonstrated how the spell works. She then told them to try the spell on their own.
"Viseo Ebullio" her wand made the counter clockwise movement. She swore something happened but no bubble came out.
"Hmm..Viseo Ebullio!" she tried again and this time a bubble appeared around her head.
After a few seconds she pointed her wand towards her head. "Finite." and the bubble popped.
As she waited for Professor Carlton to give her the go-ahead [well, hopefully, the teacher would; Gold could not be sure], Gold eyed her right hand, the one which was enclosed in a big bubble.
Hehehe. Funneh!
Making the bubble vanish with a quick, non-verbal Finite, Gold traced her wand round her face in a counter-clockwise circle.
"Viseo Ebullio."
She grinned down at her wand through her bubble-head charm, deciding she was going to allow this bubble to wear off, on its own. Though she had a feeling that would take too long, and she would end up having to use Finite, anyway. Her charmwork was pretty strong.

Still all bubbled up, no sign of it fading yet, Celandine raised her hand.
"Professor, if this spell can be used like a helmet, could you use it like a shield too? How long would it last in a duel? Does it deflect magic or just physical objects?" Cela made a curious face from behind her pink bubble.

Rae wasn't sure about doing this, she didn't feel comfortable about it. Maybe it was pointing her own wand at her head when she was horrible with charms? Her breathing picked up, her chest felt heavy, she got really nervous and light headed, she quickly walked over to the Professor, "P-professor, I-i don't think i c-can do this." Well crud, there was no way the Professor was going to remove that blasted rope once she knew why it was there. Which meant Marie would have to elaborate on the reason just a little bit. Now to come up with a reason, and quickly.
Relly, why was it so important to know why it was there? What was important was that she wanted it OFF her arm.
"Well you see professor, Destiny and I were in the flower garden one day when Professor Mean Man Lawson seen us having some fun." Yes fun, that was what they were having. Marie was having fun getting Destiny wet and Destiny was having fun bothering her and Carter. "He knows what great friends we are so I guess he thought it would be fun for us to be attached to each other." Yeah, fun for him that is. He was probably having a good ole laugh at their expense.
"I really don't mind being attached to her but I think this rope is getting in the way, you know, keeping me from performing the proper wand movements here." Not to mention it was keeping her from sitting next to Carter, who was waaaaay over there, like twelve feet away from her. "I thought if you removed the rope then I would be able to make this charm work" Surly the professor would see that she wanted the rope off to get away from Destiny to be able to do her best in class... right?

Marie..didn't mind being attached to her? Noooow Marie was really lying! "Marie, I'm sure EVERYONE knows that is a lie!" They could ask anyone! Destiny glanced towards Evelyn for confirmation of this, before turning back to Marie. "Suck it up and use your other hand. The only reason you want to get out of the rope is so you can sit next to him." she pointed her wand towards Carter. "Besides, even if your arm was free, you still wouldn't be able to do this spell."
Looking up towards the Professor, she gave her a smile, "See Professor? We haven't learnt our lesson yet. The rope must stay on."
And as long as the rope was on, Destiny could try and keep Marie away from Carter.
So Marcus was the one responsible for binding Marie and Destiny, hmm? As much as Lexi wanted to agree with the girls that the rope could definitely hinder their performance in class, she couldn't necessarily override a disciplinary action put in place by one of her coworkers. Her eyes sort of narrowed in thought as she tried to piece together what Marie was saying. Something was being left out of the story---she just knew it.
She was in the middle of class, though, and she couldn't dig deeper into the story now. So instead of asking any other questions, she just smiled and said, "Well I'd hate to end all the fun now. I'm sure Professor Lawson has a time and a place in mind to relieve you of the rope. Until then---..."
...Ahh, so that was the true reason behind the binding rope. Lexi's eyes flickered to Destiny for a second, then the professor turned back to Marie with a disapproving look. When it appeared as if an argument was about to erupt, Lexi raised her wand and turned it in a counter-clockwise direction around both their heads. "Viseo Ebullio!" she said, enclosing both inside a bubble---together. "Well if you haven't learned enough respect from Professor Lawson's rope, then perhaps being bubbled in together will help just a little, right girls?"
As she headed off, she called out over her shoulder, "I expect that bubble to remain there until I end the charm myself." ...and since Lexi had plenty of experience in charms, her bubble wouldn't be popping on its own for quite some time.

Figuring she would still be able to talk with the bubble, she raised her hand and waited to catch the Professor's attention. Once she had it, she asked her question. "Professor, on average how long should the air bubbles last? I, mean, if the charm was really strong." She hoped that she had worded the question correctly.
Fallon was glad to see that after talking, her bubble was still intact. It seemed just slightly smaller than it was before.
"From my experience, Miss McCarthy, there's really no way to determine an average life span for the Bubble-head Charm. There's always been such a wide variety of life spans that no one's ever really been able to set a determined amount of time for it," she explained. "It's up to each individual witch or wizard to know how well they can perform the charm, so they can set their own individual life span."

As Lexi scanned the room in search of volunteers, she noticed that Cela's hand was in the air---for a random assortment of things, too, it seemed. The Head Girl head a question, was volunteering to bring poor Rae to the Hospital Wing, and she was volunteering to release a dungbomb.
Smiling, Lexi replied to the question first. "Remember that finite can be used to end the charm before it has time to wear off. In that sense, it's not strong enough to give you protection from spells used in a duel, especially the more advanced spells," she explained. She paused for a moment, thinking about intelligent of a question it was, then continued. "I think it can definitely be used for some of the spells, though, such as...Avis Oppugno, for instance. It would likely stay in place until an advanced spell broke through or until it wore off on its own."
"Thank you for volunteering...for both," she said, glancing toward Rae. "Please bring Miss Quirregen to the Hospital Wing and if you can get back before we move on, you may volunteer in here, as well."

As Fallon made her way to the front of the classroom, Lexi handed her one of the dungbombs she'd had owled to the school a few days ago. As she watched it move from her hand to Fallon's, Lexi made a slight face at the object. Only in the name of education she thought to herself. "Just hold that for a minute or two and as soon as the other volunteers are up here, we'll get started," she said.

A few weeks ago, dungbombs were being released left and right, and now that the students were being asked to release them (again, for educational purposes), it seemed very few actually wanted to.

Lexi perked up when a little Ravenclaw girl volunteered. "Of course! Come join us in the front, please," she said, motioning for the girl to come forward. Lexi had hoped to get a few members from each house to volunteer, but so far it looked like the Slytherins and Ravenclaws would be the only ones to take her up on the offer.

"Thank you for volunteering...for both," she said, glancing toward Rae. "Please bring Miss Quirregen to the Hospital Wing and if you can get back before we move on, you may volunteer in here, as well."

"Okay professor." Celandine stood up, put her things to one side and looked at Rae.
Who was vomiting. Celandine made a compassionate sort of face and pointed her wand at the contents of the waste basket, vanishing it.
"You should maybe bring the waste basket along." She suggested quietly. "It isn't far to go." She held the door for the Slytherin girl.
Rae was making such a fool of herself, maybe she was sick... Or maybe she was just nervous about Charms... Either way, not a good outcome. Rae heard the Professor ask for anyone to take Rae to the hospital wing, and someone answered. Rae didn't dare look up, for she was scared to vomit again and she was so embarrassed she did not want to show her face.
Rae still didn't know who was with her as the door was opened for her because she still wouldn't look up. Continuing to hold the wastebasket underneath her, she walked out of the room with the so far unknown girl.

Weeeh. Hehehe. She knew the charm fairly well. She stood up at the front to join the two other volunteers. Besides... she was a smart cookie... and the thought of cookies made her think about her chocolate... rawrs.
Nancy watched Cela take the Slytherin girl outside and gave her a little sympathetic smile. Oh noes. Hopefully she would be better again soon. Somehow she felt a little responsible for her. She was her Prefect after all. Meh, she should probably be the one taking her to the Hospital Wing...though Cela was just as responsible for her. Hey, she was sort of responsible for ALL the students so yeah.
Professor Carlton repeated question if somebody was willing to volunteer diverted her attention back to the lesson and her professor. "Oh, I'd like to volunteer, professor." Nancy said with a small smile as she raised her hand to get the professor's attention.
