As he sidestepped a kid and leaned against the wall, he half-grinned at Kellen, eyes straying down to the badge pinned to his own chest. "Almost didn't get to keep it. Dad wanted me to hand it in. He said badges and responsibility like this breed a hero complex or something. And I don't need one." He paused before adding, "Of course then I told him about Sabel and he backed off right quick..."
