Alexa COULDN'T smile it hurt too much. She followed the Slytherin Prefect's example and slid down loooooooow in her seat hoping Pilliwickle didn't take notice.

Jeez the lady scared her. Jumping about a mile, since she was NOT expecting that noise to come out of her mouth, Evelyn pretty much slammed into the nearest desk and held onto it with a death grip.

Crazy lady...

Frowning, and irritated, she made her way to the BACK of the room and slumped down in the seat, trying to get her heart race down.

She could concentrate if she was happy or sad. So there! And right now, she was irritated.

Crossing her arms, she stared with an emotionless expression, not really feeling up to even face smiling at the moment. But after a minute or so she took out her notebook and quill. Better just be prepared..

And look too busy to smile...

Oh Holy Merlin, the professor has done lost her mind. The only thing that would make Marie smile right now was if Evan walked through the door. Not seeing him coming through the door she was not about to smile, she just kept drawing on her parchment.
She would worry about concentrating when class started.

Mildred STILL wasn't happy with their so called 'efforts' to smile. She did NOT approve of this gloominess one. little. BIT! She wanted her classroom to be a happy place! A place full of all things bright and WONDERFUL!

She didn't let the surliness of the students get her down though, and continued to grin down at them. She could only hope her brightness was contagious!

"Let's get going then," she started, using her wand to magically close the door so no latecomers could sneaky sneaky in. "This lesson, we're going to expand on what we learnt last lesson."

"Can anyone demonstrate what we did last lesson for anybody that might not of been present?" GIGGLE.

Alexa immediately raised her hand and said, "I can, Professor!" THen closing her eyes she imagined the butterflies she wanted and said, "Papilio" while doing the wand movement. She had practiced that spell so much she knew it was going to work! She opened her eyes to see black butterflies floating around, mixing in with the Professor's purple ones.

Raiden's automatic reaction was to raise his hand.

Not a good idea when you don't want the professor to notice you, he realised a moment after doing it. Still, it was... classtime now. He had to answer questions, right?

And seeing as the Gryffindor girl had already demonstrated butterflies.

"We also learned..." He flicked his wand. "Orchideous."

A few white lilies popped into existence and scattered across his desk, and Raiden felt instantly better.

THEY WERE WHITE.

He could do colours correctly again. YES.

Lina smiled, watching the butterflies and flowers. Oh, how neat!

Chris grinned brightly. "Professor I would love to help demonstrate!" he stood up at his chair happily and said the incantation with his wand jabbing in the air in front of him. "Orchideous!" a boquet of bight purple flowers popped out. He held them out slightly for the eldery Professor to have if she wanted them before he sat back down.

He was at least excited for this lesson.

What had they done last class? Errr.
But everyone, icluding the Gryffindor prefect, was doing that Orchid-orchdeda...Orchidiiid...whateverFlower spell, and THAT, Miranda totally remembered doing. Kind of.

She rubbed her eyes and stifled a yawn, hiding behind her enourmous sleeves. Seriously, had she like enlarged it by accident or something? Weird...

Kaya sighed, this professor was in one hell of a good mood today. Wanting to get this lesson over with, she smiled at the teacher and got ready to listen, finally it was starting.

"LOVELY!" Professor Pilliwickle resumed the bouncing when the clever Gryffindor conjured up some butterflies!! She was a little disappointed at the lack of colour.. but they did look good fluttering with her purple creations. Hehe. "Two points for you!"

"And another two points for YOU!" Mildred exclaimed when someone else conjured up some FLOWERS! Again though.. where was the COLOUR!?

... Oh, but colour didn't matter right now.

WHAT did the sweetie pie Slytherin Prefect have on his head!? Mildred stared. And then she wiggled her chubby fingers in his direction before coming back to her senses.

She'd get him ... later.

"NOW!" She started once more, tearing her beady eyes away from the Slytherin's fluffy head and addressing the classroom as a whole. "Both butterflies and the flowers have a previous form.. flowers of course, evolve from seeds. And butterflies? Caterpillars!"

Did they get where she was going with this yet? HM!?

Lina blinked. Well, of course they did. "Well, that's true. Many things in nature undergo metamorphisis. Going naturally from one thing to--" Oh, please tell me no. "Professor, don't animagi do something similar?" Maybe they would be taking care of caterpillers. Or forcing the metamorphisis. Oh, but that wouldn't be a good thing, would it?

Aaaand...that was all she was going to say?

Butterflies, caterpillars, seeds, and flowers. Oh joy. This was turning into a wonderful class, she could tell already. Not. Hmm, tapping her quill on the desk, she waited for the Professor to continue on about what they were going to do in class today, though..she didn't.

"Sooo...are we Transfiguring Butterflies and Flowers into their earlier forms or something?" she asked in a slight sarcastic tone, though not really enough to be really heard. Please, someone tell her that was not what they would be doing in class...But then someone mentioned animagi. Were they going to learn about animagi!?? That would be amazing if they were!! Would probably be the best class ever, since it would really help her a lot with studying on the subject. She could only pull out so much information from one book!

Jacob was completely confused by what she was implying. Were they supposed to guess what thet were going to conjure today? "so..." he started "are we conjuring caterpillars and seeds? or what ever comes after butterflies and flowers? Making stuff go back to its previous form?" yup he was lost. Did anthing come after butterflies...or flowers.

Vashti wondered if Professor Pilliwickle was wanting the class to ask her something. Perhaps something to do with the lesson? Probably. Hm... She'd said it would expand from the last lesson which had been about butterflies and flowers. Then she said something about what they evolved from. Caterpillars...and seeds... OH!

"Professor?" Vashti said, raising her hand. "Are we learning about how to conjure caterpillars and seeds today?"

Hm. This made Miranda ponderrr.
She raised her hand. "Miss, so, what you're telling us is that...one cannot transfigure anything out of 'thin air', if the thing we are conjuring up doesn't have a previous form?"

Oh gosh, her lack of sleep made her see or say no coherent things. Kind of.

Gold raised a hand. What the professor had just said, made her think of something. "Professor, I have a question, related to that. I wanted to ask... if we untransfigure a flower or butterfly, would it turn into a seed or, in the latter case, a caterpillar?"

She didn't exactly get this untransfiguration thing. She had tried to study it... and sort of failed. Okay, maybe not failed. She just hadn't been able to totally grasp it.

Raiden stared as the Professor wiggled her fingers at him, preparing to all but duck down under the desk. Apparently being older didn't mean she was going blind or something.

But... well he was saved. She apparently deemed it more important to continue with class than to grab him by the head and go after his ears.

Breathing a sigh of relief, he sat up a little straighter in the chair. It was safe now? She wasn't going to go all flaily screechy excitement at him?

A second later, his eyes flicked to Lina as she... mentioned Animagi. They'd discussed that before, at the slumber party. Surely the professor wouldn't be teaching anything like that. It was long and hard work to become an Animagi.

Besides. Raiden was already part animal right now. He didn't particularly want to find out how to become more.

She noted Raiden glancing at her, and just shrugged with a slight embarrassed look. I'm not going over there. I'm not going over there. But before she knew it, she was sitting next to Raiden. What the heck? But sadly, of everyone there, he was the only one she really knew. Well... she was just going to protect him from the teacher touching his ears. Yes, that was it. It had nothing to do with not knowing anyone and being uneasy about it.

Oooh, a clever one this girl seemed.

Mildred smiled sweetly at her, nodding at her words. "I wouldn't say animagi are similar," she pondered slightly. "After all, transforming yourself into an anima isn't what you'd call a natural evolution, is it?" She didn't think so!

Mildred did like a good ol' guessing game. Which is what she'd been attempting. And YAY! Here was a guess! And a good one too! "CORRECT!" The Professor exclaimed, clapping her pudgy hands together some more. "We're not going to be conjuring seeds and caterpillars," she said, smiling at the children that had guessed that nevertheless, "but reverting objects into their earlier forms."

And seeing as they were all SO good at conjuring butterflies and flowers, it seemed a good place to start! Plus, she wanted to see more PRETTY in her classroom.

Mildred sent her sweet smile in the direction of the Hufflepuff who had piped up. "Oh no, dear," she shook her head, "one is able to transfigure anything except the exceptions in Gamp's Law." She was assuming most of them knew what that was? The older ones ought to anyway. "Saying that, almost everything has a natural form anyway, doesn't it?"

Oooh, the questions were coming fast now! HEHE.

"Untransfiguration is returning what you previously transfigured," Mildred explained not only to the Prefect, but to everyone. "So for example, if you transfigured a butterfly into a brooch -" What a PRETTY brooch it would be! - "untransfiguration would simply turn it back into a butterfly!" Made sense, didn't it?

"Now, as Miss Floor said," that was the Slytherin's name, wasn't it? Oh, she was just useless with names. "Today we're going to be reverting objects into previous or natural forms. Does anybody know.. or want to have a crack at guessing the incantation?"

Right. "Something fors?" Gold suggested, raising a hand. "Fors because it's the suffix for a lot of transfiguration spells, and the 'something' could probably be replaced by a word for original or first." Maybe even previous? "Umm, a French or Latin word, maybe?"

"Or ... isn't there something like a Homorphus Charm that can reveal the true identity of things? Of animagi, I think." Yeah, she was totally going to fail this subject. Scrape by with an A, at the best.

Alexa sat up as straight as she could and watched the Professor intently. She had no idea what the incantation was, but she was really interested in the subject matter.

They had the guess the incantation? GAHH. Jack was SO horrible at this! His fluency in other languages was...not good. He raised his hand anyways, though, since he had been quiet throughout the rest of the class. "Erm, I'm guessing it would be something that has the root of 'reverse' or 'natural' or...something like that," he said with a shrug.

Yeah. Root words. NOT his strong point.

Marie raised her hand, "Well Professor if we use Papilio to conjure butterflies would we use Oilipap to trnsform them back to their earlier stage? You know just say the incantation backwards."

Okay now that she said that out loud it did sound a little stupid but there was nothing she could do to take it back.

Jacob raised his hand slowly. Completly unsure of himself, he guess "would it be something with 'Verto', it means to turn or transform."
