"Good morning, all," Professor Svensson said as he stepped through the door, shut it, and paused at the back of the classroom. "Quiet down, please, and take out your quills and ink--you'll be writing right away. I will provide the parchment." A flick of his wand sent the stack of parchment on his desk around the room, leaving a blank piece in front of each student. "When you receive your parchment, write down your favorite animal and your favorite thing about that animal, and be prepared to share it with the class. Then sit quietly," Professor Svensson instructed as the parchment flew around the room and the man himself strode to take a seat on his desk.

Taking a piece of parchment for himself, Lars pulled a self-inking quill from his pocket and scribbled the word "yellow" on one side and the word "loud" on the other. Then he propped the parchment up against a book and watched the students, making sure they did not get too loud. Writing did not generally require noise, after all.

Jack blinked in a sort of shock as Svensson suddenly entered the room, and just like that, they were getting to work. His favorite animal? Erm...that was interesting. Hmmm, what was his favorite animal? It was interesting how much effort was required to recall such a small little fact as that...AHA! He remembered now. And he knew exactly why. He smiled and started scribbling down on his parchment.


Smiling with satisifaction at his answer, he sat back and waited as everyone else wrote down their answers.

Since the professor seemed MIA, it looked this Gryffindor was going to take a N.A.P. But just as she was going to lay her head down, the door opened and entered the professor. The Gods were against her today. Urg. Sitting up, she listened to what he said. YES! They didn't have to get up. Sweet. As the parchment flew toward her, she let it land before wondering what to write. What was her favorite animal? Hmm. Good question. This assignment would have been so easy for her little brother. Dang.

Dipping her quill into her ink bottle she wrote down the only animal she could think of at the moment.

"Iguana. I like iguanas, because they are green and don't make a loud of noise."

Lame! She read her response again. Ugh. Oh well. She wasn't feeling creative at the moment, and that was the best she could come up with. Thank you Danny for his pet lizard. She than sat quietly, waiting for further instruction.

Torin raised his brow and then quickly wrote down on his parchment. Whatever the Professor wanted.

He looked over to see what Fyo was writing.

Diane was fast to take a seat, having reached the classroom when class was just about to start. Not something usual with her. The arrangement of the seats made her seat somewhere on the back. Then as she was placing her bag besides the table, before you could say 'Trodgor The Burninator', she had parchment magically shoved under her nose and over her desk.

The instructions for this assignment were quizzical enough. The problem resided in the favorite animal choice. She did not think she had anything of the sort. "Excuse me, how does somebody chose their favorite animal?"

She raised her hand, still lost. "Does magical creatures count?"

Not that it would make any difference with her. Maybe she needed a cathalog. Magical Creatures Geographics? Just to get some idea...

...and in the blink of an eye, the door to the classroom had opened and Professor Svenson had entered. Anna shut her textbook and shoved it back down into her bag. Just as she did so, a piece of parchment came fluttering her way, and she watched as it landed neatly on her desk. Oh...how adorable. What a neat little spell. She retrieved her parchment, then began to write.

Animal: Owl
Why: I have an owl named Charlotte, and sometimes it's as if she knows me just as well as I know myself. I love the way she, as well as all other owls, know just where to locate me no matter where I am. Owls are friendly and helpful and assist us in so many ways. Not to mention the fact that they're cute and cuddly, too.

Wow, my favorite animal?, Aislynn thought. She took out her quill and dipped it in ink and took the feather end and gently scratched it under her chin. She was pondering the answer. She like a whole lot of animals it was hard to condense her favorite down to just one. She then took her quill to the parchment:

She was very satisfied with her answer. Though Aislynn didn't think it would be quite original, who wouldn't think unicorns are one of the most fascinating at lovely creatures in the wizarding world?

Natasha smiled at Fyo once more, before getting her quill, as the teacher started speaking. Favorite Animal? She didn't even have to think about that. As soon as her parchment landed on her desk, she started writing.

She thought for a moment, that was the best she could come up with... For now, anyway.

'Favourite Animals' was enough to wake up the Ravenclaw, and made her focus on the class.

Willow . . . did not like animals.

What was she supposed to do then?

"Professor," Asked Willow, with her hand in the air, "What am I to do if I am not particularly fond of animals, and therefore, don't actually have a favourite one?" SERIOUSLY "I'm allergic to most of them, you see." Lie. "Should I just write about a random one?" Eurgh.

Reese looked up when the Professor walked into the classroom. She listened to him explain what they needed to do and when he was done talking, she looked down at the parchment sitting in front of her. Pulling a quill out, she quickly wrote:

Favorite Animal: Baby Monkeys.
Reason: Why wouldn't you like baby monkeys? They are just so adorable.

When she was done writing, she placed her quill beside her parchment and looked back up at the Professor.

William sighed quietly as he dipped his quill into the ink well as the parchment came to him, already knowing what to write. After all, his second favorite animal was sitting in his pocket, safely tucked away in its cage. If the professor knew he'd definitely be in trouble, but luckily for him, the animal made no noise and so he was safe.

Animal: Bluenose Dolphin
Reason: They're majestic and smart, smarter than humans. They are just awesome really, huge yet gentle, caring and harsh.

With that finished he put his quill down and waited for further instruction.

Fyo nodded but, before he could reply, the Professor had entered and, within moments, a parchment had settled itself on the desk in front of him. Giving Natasha an apologetic sorta smile, Fyo inked his quill and bent towards his "share of" parchment.

Reason: To begin with, scorpions are SHINY! And nocturnal. Which is pretty funky, actually. As a general rule, scorpions are also tough, know how to defend themselves, can survive in considerably harsh conditions, and are opportunistic predators. Plus, they have awesome pedipalps - umm, claws, to be more general.

Issy couldn't help but snicker at Willow. As depressing an idea as disliking animals was to her, disliking anything alive was sort of Willow's thing. The professor might not be too pleased, she noted, but... really. Who could help it, right?

Dipping her quill in lavender ink, Issy began to scribble without heistation.

Animal: Giraffes
Reason: So adorably awkward and yet graceful, they're unique and sweet and cute. And when they wrinkle their noses, it looks really funny and their mouth scrunches up and I want to squeal.

Torin looked at Fyo's paper and laughed. His best friend was so lame at times. But he loved him for that. "Pedipalpawhats?" he asked slightly confused.

Dominic was pretty out of it - especially when he saw the Ravenclaw Captain being towed in by another Ravenclaw. A female who was younger, which even though the sixth year knew it was Willow's friend, he still felt slightly angered because HE wasn't the one dragging her. He wanted to be the one to support her when she was too tired to walk on her own.

But the sound of Svensson's voice broke the sixth year from his reverie, causing him to look up from his jealous staring - something he didn't even realize he had been doing - and look towards the Professor. Lesson was starting; even though he typically did decent on Transfiguration, he still ought to try and pay attention.

Favorite animal? Picking up his quill, Dominic gnawed lightly on the end of it as he thought of his favorite animal. About to start writing, his eyes flickered over towards the Eagle captain as she spoke about 'being allergic to animals'. Lie, he very well knew. As did she.

Now wait, what was his favorite again? Stupid Ravenclaw making him forget . . .

He should have known Torin wouldn't get it. What Fyo really wanted to say was "Stop peeking at my parchment, pink boy!" but, since that might come under the heading of chatting, Fyo decided against it.

"Pedipalps," he corrected. Second pair of subsidiaries of the prosoma in the Arthropoda-subphylum, Chelicerata. Fyo blinked, realizing Torin would not get that. At all. "Err, claws," he mumbled sheepishly.

Aaah, now he understood. Why couldn't Fyo have just said that a along. "You need to stop swallowing textbooks and regurgitating them. Seriously."

He shook his head and waited for the next instructions.

ANIMALS?! EEP. Cam was an expert on animals, and how the heck was he suppose to just name one favorite animal? They were hundreds and hundreds of animals he adored. Yup he was an animal-lover... well except for insects. He shivered at the thought of insects--THEY WERE DISGUSTING. Dipping his quill into the ink, he quietly wrote down his favorite animal (sorry other animals) and his reason.

He thought about all of the other animals he liked. Oh he was sad right now. It was an impossible, yet fair decision. What if the sea lions would hate him now because they weren't his favorite anymore? What if his pets would bite/scratch him to death because he only picked one animal? WOULD ALL THE OTHER 300+ ANIMALS HE LIKED HATE HIM? WOULD THEY REBEL AGAINST THE LEMURS? Oh dear oh dear. Not one animal hadn't even seen the parchment and already he had a bad feeling.

Raising his hand, he asked, "Professah, why just one animal? Why not a bajillion?? I hate...," he sniffed, but he reminded himself he was a MANNN, "leaving out all of the other animals. They have feelings too, right?" Animals wouldn't see this parchment--YET STILL, sniff, it was WRONG.

Cam turned his head towards Willow who ADMITTED to the class she was allergic to the animals. ALLERGIC? Poor Willow. He gave her a smile FROM DA HEART and pitied her--she was really dead to him right now, because people who had allergies to animals just DESERVED to have their own foundation! He needed to give her a galleon, no, 2 galleons after class because she was a poor poor girl who had not enjoyed life yet.

Sniff.

Fyo gave Torin a look that clearly said, "It's not my fault you don't like anything except pink!pink!PINK! women," before turning back to his parchment. The third year re-read what he had written, not sure if he was satisfied with it. A moment later, though, he decided it was enough and, laying down his quill, began to bottle his inkpot.

Varius liked Transfiguration. It involved magic and last time they had all been turning into canaries! Very funny indeed! However, this simple task was stunted him. Varius wasn't all that keen on animals and didn't generally take an interest, so he decided just to write down the animal he cared for last year in Care of Magical Creatures.

She had to think for a few minutes about what animal is her favourite and then started to write:

Animal: Lemur
Why? Because they are cute and fluffy and they are distant cousins of the apes.

Lyra sat there for a few moments, staring into the distance but not really looking. She was thinking what kind of animal she liked. Infact , Lyra loved all animals! , she was the kind of person that just simply loved them all!. Giving a little frown she bit the tip of her quill and finaly decided to use a animal she loved the most, She grabbed the piece of parchment in front of her and began to write down.

Animal: Fox
Reason: Because they are cute, yes main reason. And because they have cool traits i can......sort of....relate too, like: observational skills, ability to observe unseen, , courage, gentleness, and reliable friend.

Lyra placed her quill down, and looked at her parchment. Happy with the result she leaned back in her chair and waited.

Celandine looked up from her work and blinked a few times, a sloowwwww smile appearing on her face. Pedipalps?

She wrote her answer down.

Chris smiled when he got his Parchment, he took his quill and began to write down his favorite animal and why it was.

When he finished he placed his quill down and waited for further instructions.

Nia watched as the parchment fluttered down and landed in front of her. She inked her quill thoughtfully. There were several animals she could choose as her favourite. Stroking the feather of her quil under her chin thoughtfully, Nia gave a little nod and wrote down her answer.

With a smile, she waited to be told what to do next.
