"Right" Kayla said as she stood up from her chair. "I think a visit to Professor Dumont is in order" she made her way to the exit and stopped just short of the doorway when she heard Jack speak again.

Kayla looked over her shoulder and smirked. "He would be my best friend and your worst nightmare" she gave him a small wink before walking out the door.

Jack shouted after her "No wait! I'm not finished!" he shouted so she could hear

Kayla walked slowly back into the common room. "This better be good" she said leaning against the door frame with her arms folded across her chest.

"I went to detention, and we had a talk, now, we get on" Jack told her "Now, he's saved me twice" Jack told her almost ashamedly.

"You're not making much sense Jack. First you tell me that the Professor was messing with your mind and put you in detention and now you're telling me you now get on and he's saved you twice" Kayla's eyes flashed angrily, if this little first year thought he could play games with her, he was going to have to get up earlier than that.

"Why don't we start again? Why did you and your brother get detention in the first week of term? And this time tell me the truth" she demanded.

Jack sighed "I told you the truth, Ok, In the great hall, I hit my head and passed out, he saved me, I was annoyed about my brother who left to go and live with muggles, apparently Dumont helped him, So John and I went to his office, he told me some things I couldn't comprehend so I flipped and trashed his office, then he put us in detention, I found out some things about him and we talked, I broke down, he wanted to break down and John just became a wimp" Jack paused

"Then he let us out after the horrible detention and we decided to try and be nice since I realised he tried to stop Jose, now we are trying to stop the curse that has been put on our family, I jumped in the lake to try and find Liam's part of the letter which tells us how to release the curse, Liam died in the lake, and I nearly drowned, Dumont saved me again, and I have my guard up against people I don't know and people I do, so he's trying to help me, but he tried to use my girlfriend to get to me and I don't like it, I think it is unfair!" Jack finished off

Kayla listened quietly and patiently as jack told his story, her face remained impassive as he spoke until he got to the part about Liam. Her eyes flickered briefly but that was the only sign she gave. She remembered Liam well and what had happened to him.

"Well that's quite a story" she said quietly. "I apologise for snapping at you. It's just that I would like Hufflepuff to do well this year and we're already so far in the negative...it's not funny."

She sighed a little and pressed her head against the wall. "How did he use your girlfriend against you?"

Jack nodded at her "Don't worry about it" he told her "He tried to get her to find out stuff and report anything wierd to him" Jack sighed sadly

"Hmm...well maybe it's best to stay away from the professor for a while. It'll stop you from losing your temper and getting into trouble and maybe Dumont will forget about you and he'll stop trying to find out stuff" Kayla nodded, yep that sounded pretty reasonable to her.

Cadence lead the way out of the common room and into the grounds toward the lake.

"Oh you mean Jolly man Fat Friar" Ray asked. "Yes he is, also I don't know why maybe he was a friend of the family or something" Ray said as he dwelt on the idea for a moment. Well for me I think they are back to get something I have this feeling that they are searching for something that is hidden here at Hogwarts I wonder what?" Ray asked.

Jack shook his head "I can't! He follows me!" Jack told her "And... his wife left him to go and emigrate with my step-mother as friends, so it's like we are all in this together" Jack slumped against the sofa

It sounded good. Eva didn't really bother pretending she knew what Kaika was talking about. Her friend knew her too well. Eva smield as Kaika entertained herself dreaming about her new fantastic broom. I really should get one and learn these types of things.

Eva shivered.
"Well, I'm not into Herbology either. Or anything that involves creatures." she was thinking of the subject the hated the most. Care of Magical Creatures.

"Why would the ghost be searching for anything here at Hogwarts. I mean, ghost are like spirits aren't they? Ghost can't possess anything that exists in our world. You try shaking a ghost's hand. It's not a pleasant experience. If they are searching for something, it must be inportant to the staff here at Hogwarts. How friendly are you with the Fat Friar?"

The common room portrait door slid open, revealing the common room and allowing the seventh year inside. Tiger took the lead, prancing infront of his owner whom had her head in a book all the while following in a fairly perfect line how she could do that when not paying attention, compared to when she was remained a mystery. As her messenger bag strap tried slipping down from her shoulder, Savannah shut the book, now noticing several fellow badgers gathered in the lounge she smiled warmly.

"Tiger, be a good boy." She said quietly, eyes fixed on the small orange feline that went about pacing towards Tonks' portrait, brilliant green orbs not moving from the animated picture. Shaking her head, Savannah took a seat on one of the couches, slipping her book back into her bag while keeping an eye on her mischievous cat.

Jessica was sitting on her favorite chair in the common room, reading a book in preparation for the HoM classses this year. She put the book aside when hearing footsteps, and looked up. Somebody just entered the room, and it was none other than Savannah, the former Prefect.

Being a bit surprised at the name Tiger, Jess looked around and spotted a cat by the portraits. She deduced that it belonged to Savannah.

"Vannah, hey!" Jess greeted with a happy tune. "How are you, I haven't seen you for ages! Last year at Hogwarts, hm?" she said and stood up, moving closer to the girl.

"Well I have never met him... Also my uncle did say he attended some of out family's parties and such" Ray replied to the last question first. "But I will surely try to talk to him and ask him if they are up to something, maybe not somethning they can possess but something they can benefit from it" Ray explained. "Do you think we can get to talk with the Fat Fiar or more importantly find him?" Ray asked.

Abby had to think for a moment. That was an interesting question. How do you owl a ghost? "During the opening feast the ghost spent a good deal of time at the head table. I wonder if the teachers know how to get in touch with them. We could send the Fat Friar an owl, but he wouldn't be able to remove the note from the owl. A patronus charm might work. It doesn't require having to read a note, and it would search out the ghost we want. What do you think?"

"Yes but can you send a note to a dead person?" Ray asked. "What if it was an impossible thing then what we would have to go around and search for the ghost" Ray added. "Right?"

Emalyn smiled. "Yeah don't worry about it," she commented while Melanie was laughing. "No problem! Have fun!" and with that Emalyn waved goodbye and went back to the Dorm.

He smiled. "Well, I guess detention would be alright, if you're there." He snuggled closer to her as a breeze drifted by. "Well, hmm...perhaps we should just stay here and see what fun we can come up with."

He nodded. "Yeah. I mean, it's not like I'll do great in the class, but I probably shouldn't lose the book before class even started."

Kaitlynn made her way back into the common room after her History of Magic class. She had to admit that it wasn't what she expected, but it was a good lesson anyways.

She made her way over to one of the armchairs and pulled her notebook and quill back out of her bag. She might as well get started on her homework. Also she thought to herself, she really needed to find a student to interview, she needed to make sure that she got her artical for the Quill in on time.

"Moaning Mrytle was one of the ghost at Hogwarts. She should know how to get in contact with the other ghosts. I wonder if she came back with the rest of them. She used to haunt the girls' second floor bathroom. If I remember correctly Moaning Mrytle was killed by the basilisk when she was a student here at Hogwarts. Tom Riddle used her death to creat his diary horcrux. We could see if we can find her. Mrytle may be able to get a message to the Fat Friar."

Jake practically stormed into the common room, his eyes ablaze. What the heck was going on? Why was he all... angry? Probably that stupid lesson, he thought to himself. When the fury inside him swelled at that thought he took it as a yes.

Striding over to the fireplace, Jake settled himself on the floor so he was staring into the flames, his back against a chair.

I am not going to cry. I am not going to cry!

*Gabben walked into the common room with his pack over his shoulder. He walked over to the fire place and saw the boy he had talked to in history.*
"You alright ...ummm Jake wasn't it?"
