Sarah made her way down the steps towards the painting that would take her to the place she wanted to be...the Hufflepuff common room.
Mumbling the password,she waited as the painting swung back to let her pass.
Glancing around she could see that she was the first student there.Deciding that bed was not where she was going to go straight away,she wandered over to one of the sofas that was situated near the fire.Resting her weary body down she sighed.
"Well so much for making some Huffie friends at the feast.Am I ever going to get to know people in my own house?!" she said in a loud voice to the empty room.
Curling her legs up under her she leant against the back of the sofa and watched as the fire crackled away.

Following a young girl down had been easy, and Jake had been told the password, so he mumbled it and entered the common room. Immediately his attention was taken by the long table in the brightest part of the room, and Jake became fascinated. As he headed towards it, he looked around for the girl he'd followed, the only other person present.

"Erm... hi," Jake muttered, biting his lip. Should he thank her for the action she proably didn't realise she'd done.

Harley was so pleased to finally be at Hogwarts, He had to admit he wasnt really paying much attention through out the feast but he now couldnt wait to relax in his new common room it was completly different to his Dorm room in Durmstrung but he couldnt be happier

Emalyn walked quietly into the commonroom. It had felt like forever since she had seen it last. She smiled at the view of the room and made her way to her favorite seat. Looking around, she could see that not many people were there yet. She sighed and laid her head on the armchair, looking into the fire.

It's good to be back.

Spence walked through the portrait and to a chair. She gracefully plopped down and stared at the flames soaking wet. She didn't know any cleaning spells and she had tripped in juice.

Jessica was extremely glad to be back at Hogwarts. After the feast ended, she headed for the very familiar common room. The girl walked in and sank into a cosy armchair. Looking around, she noticed Harley, the boy she had met on Diagon Alley when he needed a cauldron.

"Harley, hi! Remember me?" she asked enthusiastically, standing up and moving towards him.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, how do you like it so far?"

Harley was happy to hear a familier and friendly voice and turned to see it coming from the girl he met in Diagon Ally, Walking towards her he replied "Hi Jess..Of course i remember you" He smiled and thought to himself How could i forget such a pretty girl. Then continued "Its pretty good so far, Shame about the minus points already though isnt it" He took a seat opposite her.

Sarah was mesmerised by the fire and didn't know anyone else had come in until she heard a voice.Looking up she saw the first year boy she had been talking to at the feast.
Allowing a weak smile she responded to him... "Oh hello,found the place then? Make yourself comfy there is plenty of room at the moment."

Jake nodded at her and found an armchair that looked comfortable, and it wasn't too near the fire. Definite plus. Needing to bounce, but just a little, Jake managed to get up and settled.

His drowsiness gone, Jake looked over at the girl. Dang... forgotten her name already, but he could pick it up, Jake was sure. "So... you signing up for Quidditch try-outs?"

Sarah laughed when the boy..Jake was it? asked if she was going to try for the quidditch team.
"No,not this year.I only started flying last term and nearly killed myself so I think I'll wait a while."
Truth be told she really did want to try out,but her nervousness on a broom wasn't helped by the fact she couldn't practice over the summer.
"Will you be?" she asked him back.

Jake nodded. "Oh, yeah," he smiled. "I've never played before, so I may not get on the team, but it'll be good to see how things go."

Since he'd heard of Hogwarts and his memory started clicking together snippets from games he'd seen as a toddler with his grandfather. "From what I remember, it should be good..."

Jake began to swing his legs a little, as his feet didn't quite hit the floor. "What classes are you taking?" He planned to re-read each of his books that night, even if it was just skim-reading. He didn't want a repeat from earlier, when he'd called Divination "Dinnyvation".

Set walked in the common room afer the delicous feast. The room was amazing, it wa the coolest thing he had ever seen. He looked for his freinds, and when he couldn't find them he decided to ckeck the notice board and then wait for them in an armchair by the fire.

Spence sat there shivering. Drenched in pumpkin juice. Cold but not wanting to leave, she sat there.

Jim walked into the common room and sat down on he sofa.

Coming from her dormitory, Spence walked in with her new PJ's on, not caring who saw. She walked over to the fire and sat in one of the arm chairs.

Eva smiled as soon as she put her feet on the common room. Yes, it was good to back.Like Sebastian said, that place had a smell. Reconfortating, comfortable but mostly... like home.
Hogwarts used to become a home for its students and that's exactly how Eva felt. There, she was at home.
Though she was a bit tired from the journey and the feast, with everything that included, the fifteen year old girl decided to stay in the common room watching the atmospheer, chuckling with the firsties and studying the transfered students.

She raised an eyebrow slightly as a young girl came in from the dorm with a pijama on. Nice, but she wouldn't do it. She chuckled in amusement.

Hearing someone chuckling, Spence turned and raised a eyebrow. She saw a older girl laughing at her. Spence asked, Do you find something funny about a kid relaxing in her PJs? Sounding way beyond her years.

Eva looked back to see if the girl was really talking to her. seemed like it. She smiled.
"No, nothing." she said, though she was still smiling. The younger girl, a firstie for sure, seemed offended by her little chuckle. "Though is something you don't see everyday." she added.

While talking with jessica Harley overheard what could be called a conversation between a couple of girls, one around his age and clearly a first year. Not wanting the obvious firsty to feel alienated on her first day at the school she simply turned in her direction and said, "Hey sweetie, You have the right idea there I was going to do the same thing in a little while" He gave a broad smiled and hoped that this made her feel a little better about the fact an older house mate was laughing slightly at her

Spence noticed that the girl had not meant anything by what she had said. I guess you don't. starting to chuckle herself. She looked at the older boy. She smiled broadly at the praise. Thanks and you should try it. It is so much more comfy.

Eva winked at the girl.
"It's always nice to be different." she said. She raised her head as a guy joined the conversation. He seemed to have the wrong idea about Eva's actions. She shook her head. She wasn't trying to scare the young girl or anything like that. To prove just that she stepped up and introdducced herself:
"Eva Longood. Welcome to Hogwarts." she smiled widely. "You're in the best house." she added.

This time Harley did make a slight chuckle, "Okay but if I do you have to promise not to laugh at me" He paused for a second then added in a quiter jokey voice "They have baby Thestrals on them, a leaving present from my friends at Durmstrung" He then gave a louder laugh and turned to face Jess again

Jake looked longingly over at the doors to the dormitories and then back at... Sarah! That was it.

"Well... I'm feeling pretty tired," he yawned. "Sorry to cut our conversation short. Good night," he smiled as he dropped down from the armchair and onto the floor. He may even come back later on, depending on how tired he was.

Crossing over to the doors to the tunnels which went on to lead to the dormitories, Jake started through the tunnel to the boy's dorms.

Spence Novack. Nice to meet you. And that's what a lot of people tell me. Spence smiled at Eva. She stuck out her hand.
Well you can see mine has a weird pattern. They are from my mom. Before I got accepted here. But I love them. Spence smiled and chuckled and turned to Eva.
