Kayla rolled her eyes, if that's all he can do the last five years have been seriously wasted. She raised an eyebrow at his duplication of her stance but didn't move from hers. "I already knew" she smirked.

Her eyes narrowed as he took a step toward her and was pleased to note that she didn't have to look up that far anymore. "No sweet is that good" Kayla retorted. "Back off Helios" she said in a low voice. "Or you'll be wearing more than pumpkin juice this time."

"Back off? You know that would not be much fun." Helios said with his head slightly tilted. She was a fiery little vixen, always looking to prove she was as tough as any of the tough guys in school.

Relaxing from his stance, the boy poked Kaylas nose. Either that was her chill out button, or was the one labeled; DO NOT PRESS

"No more games for now. What do I get to make Krissy happy?" Was that a declaration of boredom, or a conceit of defeat?

A low growl emitted from her throat as he taunted her and she wasn't going to have it. Where was Nicholai, when you needed him, not that she liked hiding behind a boy but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Oh he did not just do that!!! Kayla swatted his hand away from her and took a step back from him. "And why should I help you?"

Maddox walked in just in time to hear the fight that was brewing between Kayla and Helios. He clenched his jaw, stood at his full height of 6'3", and folded his arms securely around his chest and walked over and stood next to Kayla.

"Do we have a problem here?" Mads growled at the kid, while simultaniously placing his arm around kayla's shoulder.

Siblings? Nathaniel wasn't aware that Freya had any. "Why haven't I heard about these siblings before Freya?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. "Oh, I've run out of candy completely. It's a shame really. I'm not eating as much as I used to. Don't want my teeth to rot out of my head." he said smiling and showing his pearly whites. "I'm not here to buy Sophia anything but if I see something she might like I guess I'll buy it." he said picking up a licorice wand and thinking about buying it.

Freya stared at the boy for a moment, had she neglected to tell him? Oops. "I, um, was adopted by another family, Nathaniel." Freya said as she turned back to the shelves and taking a bag of chocolate off of it. 'That's all he needs to know.' "Do you bring a trunkload of sweets with you for term? Gosh, I think I would go completely crazy if I had that much sugar rushing through me." She looked over at him with pale eyes, "Maybe it's a good thing you're not eating so many sweets...it's possible that a lack of energy could keep you out of the trees."

Nathaniel wasn't so sure about this. Freya's body movements were speaking to him more than she actually was "Is that ALL of it Freya? I really wish you'd open up to me." he said in a low tone. He didn't want people in her business. "I'm a health nut Freya. You know that. A boy can have a sweet tooth though." he said with a smile. He decided that he was gonna be in the candy shop longer than expected so he clipped his skateboard onto his backpack."Candy does not play a role in me climbing trees. My love of nature does that." he said pushing up his glasses. "Do you need help picking out candy for your...siblings?"

Mariel practically ran in to Honeydukes, being the very first obvious stop on her Hogsmeade weekend trip. She was running dangerously low on her supply of chocolate frogs and lemon drops, and could not wait to replenish her supply. She was practically shaking with anticipation as her green eyes took in row after row of sweets and a wide smile grew across her face as she started to select her candy. With her arms full of chocolate, lemon-flavored sweets, and some Toothflossing Stringmints for good measure, the young Ravenclaw spotted Nathaniel talking to Freya in the crowd. Her smile faded as she noticed that there was only one licorice wand and one bag of chocolate between them. That was just unnatural! "Hey guys," she greeted them slowly as she approached. "That's not all you're getting, is it?" She gave them both a bemused look as she tried to comprehend their lack of enthusiasm about sweets.

Kayla looked up at Maddox and gave him a smile and she leaned against him a little. "No everything is cool" she looked over to Helios and gave him a smirk and a wink. "Ain't that right Helios?" Oh she loved Mads, always turned up at the right time.

Now he couldn't help but laugh. Kayla was being overly defensive, and now she had a bodyguard. "Because Krissy is our friend? Because you're not normally this rude?" He threw his hands up. This was getting ridiculous.

"Only if you are looking for trouble." Helios nodded to Mads. In a world of wands and magic, it was actually relieving to be intimidated physically.

Nathaniel looked at Mariel. He was so happy to see her. It seemed like forever since he'd seen her last. He felt himself blush for no reason at all "Hey stranger. No,this isn't allI'm getting. I'm getting a few more things." he moved his hair out of his eyes. His hair had changed since he last saw Mariel. He had grown it longer and added a tint of green. "How's classes going for you.. and hows your creature doing?"

Maddox looked down at Kayla and gave her a wink. "Are you sure? because i distinctly heard someone speaking rudely to my extremely beautiful best friend who also happens to be a prefect." He said all this while slowly turning to send a death glare at the so called 'prince.'




Maddox snorted and looked down at the kid. "You wouldnt last a second." By the appraising look that Helios was giving Mads, he could tell the 'prince' only thought of him as a meat head. "And I dont just mean physically, Sir."

"Just returning the favour Helios" she sneered. "Fine...you've known the girl for five years now but if you can't still work out what she wants then I'll tell you. She likes chocolate frogs, licorice wands and sugar quills. Does that help?"

Oh you have got to be kidding me, he was going to take on Maddox, who she had seen smash a guys face in just last year.


"No really it's nothing I can't handle but I'm glad you're here anyway" Kayla replied giving Mads, a smile and putting her arm around him. She gave him a gentle squeeze when he spoke to Helios. "Easy Mads, we don't want another Zeph."

Mariel would have waved, but her hands were too full of candy, so she just settled for a grin. "Well, that's a relief. I was sure there was something really wrong if you were only getting that." she inclined her head in the direction of his licorice. Not her favorite but sugar is sugar and that would do far better than nothing. "You must try some of these lemon drops. I think there's still a few left." The Ravenclaw girl turned to look at the shelf, making sure she hadn't taken them all. "Ok, so what else are you getting?" she asked looking around. She'd help him pick out a few things, but she'd have to do it verbally not physically since, again, her hands were full.

"Ugh, classes seem more difficult this term," she said disdainfully. "Or at least more homework than I remember... Oh, did I tell you I got assigned a jarvey? What did you get? We should go down to the nursery and sketch our creatures. You like to draw don't you?" Or at least that's what Mariel thought she remembered.

Helios went from red to white and then back again before speaking. "Thank you for your advice, Kayla, but I suggest your friend know his role. Us Greeks do not take kindly to threats. " No matter how they fought, Kayla and Helios were both descended from Greek warriors. It would explain the temper.

Though Helios was shorter than Mads, he refused to be intimidated. An adrenaline jockey that thrived on thrills, he was aching for a fight. But the rules of a polite society forbade his urge to lash out. Posturing was pointless.

One couldn't help but notice the irony of such anger in a store made for selling treats used to make people happy.

"I like candy. I have a sweet tooth but I also like to eat healthy stuff Mariel. Ya know like oatmeal and whatnot." he said looking at all the sweets she had. Father had given him a lot of money to spend. He knew he had just sounded way older than he was. Whatever. "What others do you suggest wise older Ravenclaw?" he said with a chuckle.

"Classes seem to be fine. Minus all that chatter in Transfiguration. That was stupid.No you didn't tell me. I got a Augurey. He's really neat. I've been down to see him a lot. Freya got an animal too." he said opening up his backpack and pulling out his sketch pad. He flipped to the drawing he had done earlier to show Mariel. I did this earlier.. but it needs to be colored in"

Maddox smiled and said, "Only if your sure." He gently squeezed her back. He hadnt seen her in a few days, and was missing his best friend like crazy. Though her last words put him in check. He knew it would lead to that and he instantly calmed down. "This punk isnt even worth my time. Zeph....is a different story." He winked at her.





Maddox snorted. He was laughing so hard he was almost doubled over, and taking kayla with him. He took a deep breath and tried to talk but jsut started laughing again.


Finally, Mads gripped composure and with a slight chuckle said, "You pigheadedness astounds me. Go back to Greece if you cant take a comment without having a temper tantrum."

Mads laughed some more, and in a mocking tone said, "Oh look at me I'M GREEK! Worship me!" Again he almost doubled over in laughter.

Kayla watched Helios' facial expressions and gripped onto Mads even tighter this wasn't going to end well. For some reason she always seemed to bring out the worst in people. "Okay that's enough. There's no need for insults and such" she gave Helios a warning look.

Kayla looked up at Mads and gave him a smile. "Yes he was but still we don't want it going that way" she replied.

She almost hit the ground as Maddox started laughing as she was still holding onto him and then she heard what he said and she groaned softly. Knowing exactly how Helios was going to react. "Mads..." she began in a firm tone..."how about we get a drink at the pub or something. Cool down those tempers." Funny how she always seemed to forget that it was her that started all these fights.

Maddox smiled and said, "Dont worry, I have much more self cntrol then you give me credit for sometimes." He smiled and winked.

Mads calmed down with the tone of Kayla's voice. He didnt want to get her and himself into trouble so he smiled and said, "How about we just take a walk and see where it leads us? My temper is perfectly fine by the way." He grinned and kissed her cheek gently.

"Yeah I know" she said softly. "I just get a little worried that's all, you seem to always get into trouble for me."

Kayla breathed a small sigh of relief as he agreed with her suggestion...sort of. "That sounds like a good idea" she murmured as she felt his kiss on the cheek.

Mads seyes softened a bit at her comment. He pulled her chin up so that she was looking directly at him. "You are worth the trouble." Then he kissed her forehead, and pulled her into a hug.


Mads smiled and let go of Kayla's shoulders, only to find her hand to direct her out the door. "Lets go, Love." He headed towards the door pulling Kayla along with him.

Mariel nodded as Nathaniel spoke, then abruptly stopped. "Uh, oatmeal?" she said disdainfully. Did people really like that stuff? Or worse yet, admit to liking it? Pushing that thought completely out of her mind, she continued with her talk of sweets. "Ok, lemon drops and chocolate frogs is a definite. Have you ever tried Drooble's Best Blowing Gum? That's stuff's great. And grab some sugar quills too. You can eat those right in class and it looks like a regular quill."

Mariel rolled her eyes at mention of that Transfiguration class. "That was ridiculous. You didn't lose any points did you?" She certainly didn't remember Nathaniel chatting in that class, but it was so noisy she couldn't be sure. Ravenclaw lost plenty of points, but none by her.

Her eyes widened slightly at his mention of an augurey. "Oh, those are really cool. Did you know they like to fly in the rain? Oh, you probably already did your research and already know." She took his sketchpad to examine his drawing. "I guess I'll have to draw by myself," she said with a mock pout. Then, since she was just joking, Mariel handed the drawing back to Nathaniel with a smile and said, "Very nice! So what'd you name him? My jarvey's called Felix. I really need to get back down there to visit him."

With a wave of his hand, Helios appeared relaxed and calm. Even his hair went from raging flame to brilliant halo. He could go from warrior to politician in 1.6 seconds. Fact.

"There is no need to carry on like this. Let there be peace.." ..for now. Helios and Kayla would continue their squabble, letting the feuds of generations past live on.

Mads, Maddy, Mad Maddox. They could have been great friends. But the animal kingdom knew nothing of friendship. Girls like Kayla and Krissy kept them human, but when blood came to a boil there would be nothing to keep them from competing over the title of alpha male.

Oh...and Helios bought some chocolate frogs for Krissy.

Kayla chuckled softly. "You sound just like Nico" she closed her eyes as he kissed her forehead and she returned his hug. She wished she was sure that she was worth the trouble.

She held onto his hand and giggled. "I'm coming." Kayla heard Helios' parting words before Mads pulled her from the shop and she wasn't so sure that there would ever be peace between them either.

Jake stalled as he reached the door of the building, the sweet scent of sugar already sharpening his senses. But that wasn't why he stopped. Oh no.

"Jake Bakers Jail Upstead?!" he exclaimed, as he pushed the door open anyway.

"Sugarrrrrrr!!!!!" Jake exclaimed, his eyes going wide, trying to take in everything at once. This was awesome... for a kid who never really had much sugar, Jake was living the life. At home he was allowed the stuff sparingly, and his mother always commented that his made him 'bounce off the walls', whatever that meant.

Fizzing Whizbees... now there was something that sounded good to Jake...

All the sugar!!!!!
