"Classes seem to be fine. Minus all that chatter in Transfiguration. That was stupid.No you didn't tell me. I got a Augurey. He's really neat. I've been down to see him a lot. Freya got an animal too." he said opening up his backpack and pulling out his sketch pad. He flipped to the drawing he had done earlier to show Mariel.

Mariel nodded as Nathaniel spoke, then abruptly stopped.
"Uh, oatmeal?" she said disdainfully. Did people really like that stuff? Or worse yet, admit to liking it? Pushing that thought completely out of her mind, she continued with her talk of sweets.
"Ok, lemon drops and chocolate frogs is a definite. Have you ever tried Drooble's Best Blowing Gum? That's stuff's great. And grab some sugar quills too. You can eat those right in class and it looks like a regular quill."
Mariel rolled her eyes at mention of that Transfiguration class.
"That was ridiculous. You didn't lose any points did you?" She certainly didn't remember Nathaniel chatting in that class, but it was so noisy she couldn't be sure. Ravenclaw lost plenty of points, but none by her.
Her eyes widened slightly at his mention of an augurey.
"Oh, those are really cool. Did you know they like to fly in the rain? Oh, you probably already did your research and already know." She took his sketchpad to examine his drawing.
"I guess I'll have to draw by myself," she said with a mock pout. Then, since she was just joking, Mariel handed the drawing back to Nathaniel with a smile and said,
"Very nice! So what'd you name him? My jarvey's called Felix. I really need to get back down there to visit him."
