Sanglant heard someone whistle and looked over to see a boy his age sit down rather loudly. He looked familiar. Wasn't he the boy that was partnered with Kerry in that crazy potions class? He thought so, but wasn't sure. He decided to introduce himself. He walked over and put out his hand.

"Hi. The name is Sanglant, but most just call me Sang. Nice to meet you."

"Oh, how silly of me. Sang..this is Ryan Black, he's our Quidditch Captain." Kerry said, blushing again imagining what Ryan was thinking of the situation, remembering back to last term when it was Ryan that Kerry was all flustered over.

Ryan couldn't help but notice the way she was speaking something was making her nervous and he was sure it was the new boy. "Actually I haven't but why don't you take a deep breath before speaking. I something going on ?" As he said that a sparkles in his eyes appeared as if he was suspecting something. He had to admit that it was so fun to see her that way that he was going to enjoy it as much as possible.

Smiling at the boy he shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you Sang. I'm Ryan." He wasn't sure if he had met him earlier but he wasn't thinking about it much.

"Nice to meet you Ryan. So Kerry tells me your Quidditch Captain, eh? Thats a tough job and I don't envy it of you. Although, I am sorry to say I missed the signups for tryouts. Being new here I have missed a few things, but am starting to get used to it now. How are the tryouts going?"

Kerry shot Ryan a cold glare as to say "shut it." Taking a deep breath and composing herself, she said, "I'm fine thank you very much. You just took me by surprise as all, your noisy entrance startled me." Kerry said trying to make it sound believable.

Kerry sighed when Sang mentioned tryouts. "Did you have to go there?" Kerry asked dropping back in her chair.

"Tell him Ryan... tell him how terrible I was and get it over with." Kerry said impatiently. "I'm telling you.. I fly better than that. I'm just lucky I didn't drop my bat or whack someone's head off today." Kerry laughed, trying to make light of her lousy play.

"I am and I love that position. It depend on point of view, it can be hard but how exciting sometimes too." All the adrenaline that this was giving him was the best that he could have ask for. "It's no big deal. You can try next term if you want and so far, it's doing ok. It's just sad that not even the half of those who had sign actually show but I was expecting it anyway."

Ryan could easily understand what she meant but why would he possibly let it go. "Are you sure Kerry? I mean you look tense. And let me tell you that you were looking tense too before I made any noise." He took a devilish pleasure to see the way she was reacting.

"Hey! I showed up! Well physically anyway..and on the second day of tryouts." Kerry laughed. "But prefect duties kept me from attending the first session, I coudn't help it...I told you about that ahead of time." Kerry said trying to make Ryan feel a little better about not everyone showing up for tryouts, and trying to break the awkwardness she felt in the room.

"And no I wasn't tense..well maybe just a little but that's because I was so mad about tryouts.. right Sang?" Kerry asked dragging Sang into the conversation oncea again and hoping he would defend her.

Sang felt as if he just made a big mistake.

"Thats right. She seemed depressed about it, but I am trying to help. Im sure you weren't terrible. Its all in your head. Just try something that I did last year when I got on my school team. Close your eyes, and just block out everyone except your team and the two bludgers. Thats all you have to worry about. No crowd, no other people trying out. Just you and the bludgers."

Sang sense that there may be or have been somethign between these two, but wasn't sure. No reason to push the envelope. Perhaps it would be wise to not have Kerry and Ryan in the same room all to often.

Chuckling at her comments, this wasn't a comment making for her but toward other. "Don't worry about that Kerry. I mean you did show up. I was talking about those who sign up and don't show up at all. That's what I don't really appreciate but I knew you were going to be there at least once." He knew that she had a tendancy of overreacting and didn't go to far on that end.

Rolling his eyes, he didn't buy this last comments either. "Tense for Quidditch ? Should I really believe that...."

"Hmm... perhaps if I picture Ryan's face on the bludger, then I would do better. Thanks Sang! That's a great idea!" Kerry laughed, "Just me and the bludger, that's all I need to think about." Kerry smirked giving Ryan a look again.

"Anyway... " Kerry said turning towards Sang, "So tell us more about yourself. Did you really only come here for your exams? Why didn't you just complete them in the states?" Kerry said trying to draw the attention away from her and Ryan and back to Sang, who she wanted to get to know a little better.


"Yes, I was tense when I came back.... I kicked even took it out on the poor garbage can here and nearly startled poor Sang. That's how we got to talking, if you must know." Kerry retorted playfully, trying to keep things light, sensing Sang was getting uncomfotable, as was Kerry. "arghhh..why does Ryan have to show up now of all times?" Kerry whined to herself.

Nice subject change Kerry. Sanglant was starting to like this Kerry girl's train of thought, although this Ryan fella seemed to screw it up a bit.

"Well, my dad thought that studying here my last 3 years would do me good. A little diversity in my schooling, you know? We only lived in America because my dad has a job with the Ministry there. But he got this new assignment as an Ambassador to the Ministry here, so it worked out nicely."

"I could see how diversity would be a very good thing, but it must be strange switching schools so far into your education. I couldn't imagine leaving Hogwarts now. Are you glad you left? Or are you still getting used to things?"

Ryan didn't buy it either but he was starting to get really tired. So standing up from the couch is said:" Well you two don't mind me but I have to go to bed. I'm very tired." Looking at Kerry with a devilish smile, he add: "Have fun" As he cough you could barely heard him saying the word flirting but it was intended to be like that. Taking his potions stuff, he walks toward the stair and up to the boys dorm.

"A mixture I suppose. I am what you might call the obedient son... I do what my father tells me to do. It works out both ways though. I do what he asks, and he doesn't ask what I do."

Sanglant chuckled to himself, thinking of the trouble that his father probably knew about, but preferred not to question. Just the relationship he had with him.

"Anyways. Is there somewhere in this castle a guy can grab a bite before bed? Or perhaps just something to drink? Im a little hungry, and don't really know what I'm doing. Kerry, think you could help a guy out?"

Kerry just looked at Ryan, "yeah right you're tired," she thought to herself, but glad he was leaving just the same, she was beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable with both boys in the same room for some reason.

"Night Ryan! Don't stay up too late fretting about the quidditch team, we're going to do great this term. I just know it... we just have to iron out the kinks." Kerry laughed. "Better we do that now then during a real match, right?" She said as she watched him go up the stairs.

Kerry turned to Sand, "Obedient? Really? See I don't picture you as a good little son." Kerry smirked, "but then again, you really might surprise me." Kerry smiled.
Hearing him ask about food, she grinned in a giddy manner. "I'm sure I could help you find something. Shall we go then?" Kerry smiled standing up and walking towards the portrait hole.

"Sure. What, or should I say where, do you have in mind?"

He followed the short prefect towards the entrance hole, watching her hair bounce against her robes.

Kerry stopped at the portrait door and turned to Sang before heading out.

"Well, if you're truly hungry we can head to the great hall, if they're still serving something. If not...we could always sneak down to the kitchen entrance, I'm sure there's a house elf or two who would be more than happy to feed us. Unless of course, there's somewhere else you'd rather go?" She asked wondering what he might have in mind, knowing that he was saying he was hungry, was just an excuse to get out of the dorms.

He laughed to himself, having been easily seen through by her.

"Well, we can always get something to eat later. Care for a walk outside by the lake?"

And with that, Sanglant walked through the entrance.

Aura entered the Common Room, holding her kitten. She wanted to get started on her Arithmancy homework so decided to head to the Library where she could study in peace. Placing her cat down on the Common Room floor, she left through the Portrait Hole and made her way to the Library.

"A button what?" Whende bent her neck around. She needed a mirror or something to see her waist. "What's a button... thing?" She stopped trying to look at her asparagus and returned to resting her head against him.

"Button ice-cream," said Patrick simply. If she didn't remember that was her business.

Aura entered the Common Room, her school bag over one of her shoulders. That was when she realised something. She spent so much time concentrating on school work that she hadn't spoken to any of her fellow Gryffindor friends. But now she had work to do and made her way out of the Potrait Hole.

Angel walked into the common room, and took a seat in an empty chair. She didn't see any of her friends and still didn't quite know anyone too well. So she started on her Defense Against the Dark Arts homework.

"But-ton-ice-cream..." She carefully pronounced every syllable, rolling the phrase around in her mouth. "Is that? Hmm..." Button cream... When rubbed the tip of her fingers against his waist absently. "Er... I know this. Really." Was that a flavor at Florean's? Or a made-up Whenick flavor? Certainly not a made-up flavor from this year. "Can I buy a vowel?" she asked.

Kerry returned to the common room, exhausted from quidditch tryouts. "I hope I did well enough to make the team" she sighed to herself as she plopped down on a couch near the window and closed her eyes.
