She sort of knew that, so she just nodded. "A tato..." Whende made a face and slid her hand out of his for a second. She lifted up the side of her shirt a couple inches and tried to bend her neck around to look at it. "I can't see mine," she muttered.

Kristyn crawled through the portrait hole and went to go sit by the fire. Her Kitten Topaz curled up in her lap purring contentedly. "Good news Topaz, Dad isn't really my dad, so that mean man won't be yelling at you anymore." she cuddled her kitten closely and pulled out her favorite muggle novel "Gone with the Wind"and began reading contentedly.

Phoebe walked in she had just been walking around for a while, she was bored , today she had blue hair and ice blue eyes. she sat down on the sofa she saw a girl reading, 'gone with the wind' she loved that book her mom used to read it to her when she was a kid. now she lived in an orphange with bullies, and her sister wa sno longer there, she had left hogwarts ages ago and she now worked at St Mungo's.
"It's a good book that isn't it," she said, nervously.

"Um, let me see," Patrick said twisting his neck over When's and looking. "Looks like button-cream to me," he said peering interestedly.

Gwen dragged herself, exhausted, into the common room (her sore ankle did not agree with the portrait hole). She dropped into a comfy armchair nearest to the fire, and smiled appreciatively as its warmth caressed her face. She'd just had her first Quidditch tryout and she'd had quite a workout. No matter, she thought, settling into the cushions. I'll only be disowned if I don't make the team. She chuckled to herself and thought longingly of her bed in the dormitory. But going there meant getting up and climbing stairs...it can wait.

Kristyn looked up and smiled. "Oh it's simply brilliant! I've read this copy dozens of times, as you can see." She laughed as she held up the ragged copy of her favorite book.

Noticing Gwen come in Kristyn waved. "Hi Gwen, you look tired, where have you been?"

Gwen jerked out of her light sleep. I can't believe I'm falling asleep in here....

"Hi Kristyn," she replied, stifling a yawn. "I just got back from Quidditch tryouts."

"Oh right! I forgot all about those. Maybe I'll try out next term. Well then, How did it go? I'm sure you were bloody brilliant." Kristyn smiled at the tired girl.

"Exhausting!" Gwen hollered with as much vocal strength as she could muster. "But fun...in a delightfully masochistic sort of way."

"How're things?"

"That is a much more complicated question than you could ever know.So I'm just reading one of my old muggle books." Kristyn sighed. "I'm glad you had fun being masochistic!" Kristyn giggled.

Chris walks in and sits in the couch and sighs deeply , closing his eyes

Sarah walked down the Girls Dormitory, into the common room. She stood at the bottom of the stairs for a second or two before deciding that sleep had done her seriously no good, and she really wasn't in a good mood to go out. Sarah still couldn't understand why she should be sulking though... She sighed and moved to the couch near the fire place. Taking out her charms homework, Sarah though.. this was something that was bound to distract her.

Sanglant entered teh common room coming from just walking around the castle. Even after being here for close to a week, he was still getting lost. It was so much bigger and more complicated than his previous school in America. He spotted an empty table, pulled up a chair, and started to study a bit before bed.

Kerry entered the common room and gave a kick to the nearest thing she could find..a trash can.

"Arghhh!" she said aloud. "That was one lousy try out." She pouted as she threw herself into a chair, oblivious as to who was around her.

Sanglant turned as he heard the elder girl enter the common room in ab obvious pout. He wondered what it was about when she mentioned something about tryouts. Wonder if it is about quidditch? he thought to himself. Only one way to find out.

"Excuse me, are you ok?" he asked the girl.

Kerry looked up and saw a new boy she didn't recognize staring at her. She blushed a bit as she didn't even realize someone else was in the room, "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that little temper tantrum. I just got back from quidditch try outs and they didn't go as well as I had hoped for myself. This is the first time prefects can try out for the team and I was really looking forward to proving myself. Oh well... luckily there's a few more days of try outs left." Kerry sighed.

She sat back in the chair and rubbed her face vigorously to try to shake the feeling off. Realizing she had never even introduced herself, she looked back up at the boy. "Oh, I'm sorry... how rude of me. I'm Kerry by the way. And I'm usually not this crabby." she said trying to smile. "You must be new here, I don't think I've seen you around Gryffindor."

"NIce to meet you Kerry. The name is Sanglant, but my friends call me Sang. Quidditch, eh? Well thats too bad, I didn't even realize there were tryouts already. I've been so lost and confused lately, being new to the school and everything. I came over from America for my last 3 years of schooling. My father was in Gryffindor, and wanted me to get my OWLs and NEWTS here."

"Well it's very nice to meet you Sang" Kerry smiled. "Arghh, I guess I should pick that mess up, huh?" Kerry laughed motioning to the garbage can. Taking out her wand she muttered "scourgify! There much better." Kerry said putting her wand away.

"So..you said you were from America? Wow!" Kerry said nodding her head, "then this must be a quite of a change for you. What do you think of it so far?"

"Quite a change indeed. It is a lot bigger than my old school, and everything changes making it so confusing. And this potions class I just went to. It was crazy. That never would have happened back home. But I like it for the most part. I just don't know anyone yet."

He thought about this for a moment.

"Except you of course. It was nice meeting someone. It was a little lonely these first few days not knowing anyone. I fell asleep on the train here and sat by myself at the Opening Feast. So I just kinda did my own thing for a while."

Kerry laughed, "Yeah, the whole changing stair cases things throws a lot of new people for a loop. Is it sad to say, I sort of get a kick out of the first year's faces when they first step on them and they begin to move?" Kerry grinned. "But I'm sure upper years said the same about me when I was a first year, too."

Kerry listened as Sang talked about potions class, "Ahhh, you really are new to Hogwarts. That's nothing unusual around here. There's never a dull moment, that's for sure." Kerry laughed. "That's what makes it so enjoyable, you never know what's gonna happen next. You'll find that out as you go along though, I'm sure. And don't worry about making friends, that will come in time, too. You met me, didn't you? I can introduce you to lots of people, if you'd like. I think we just sometimes get so caught up in things around here, we miss the new faces. I'm sorry for that."

"Don't be sorry. Its no big deal, just one of those things. So other than quidditch and prefect, tell me about yourself. You intrigue me."

He wondered what Kerry would say. As he looked over the short brunette, he noticed her eyes were a vivid blue. Very cute he thought to himself.

Kerry blushed, "I intrigue you, do I? Well, yes as you saw by my lovely display of emotion before, I love quidditch!" Kerry laughed, "In the past terms I've only been allowed to play as a sub, so you can imagine how excited I was to hear prefects could tryout this term! When I'm on my game... unlike tonight" Kerry said rolling her eyes, "I'm a pretty nasty beater, so don't say you weren't warned." Kerry teased. "You don't want to run into a girl with a beater's bat, it could be dangerous." She laughed some more.

"Let's see... what else... well, I'm a sixth year prefect. Hogwarts has been my home for the entire six years, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. In fact I have a younger sister Agie, who's in her second year here. Something tells me you'll bump into her...or rather she just might bump into you at some point. She's a rather mischievious little thing. I can't imagine where she gets it from. I mean I'm a perfect little angel.. I never get into trouble." Kerry grinned, raising her eyebrows. "Or so I try to think anyway. It's tough to be prefect when you're yearning to create mischief, you know. You have to be a good role model, but you can't help but laugh at some of the things people do, thinking you would have done the same."

Kerry felt like she was rambling on and on...she blushed even more, her face now a deep shade of red, resembling the red on her robes. She giggled nervously, "I'm sorry, it's not often someone is intrigued and wants to know more about me."

"Really? That shocks me. You seem a very intriguing girl to me Ms. ??? Well, I don't know your last name, so I will stick with Kerry for now."

Sanglant couldn't beleive that HE was causing this girl to blush. He should be the one blushing. As he adjusted his robes around his neck, he realized that he WAS indeed blushing. What an affect talking to this girl was having on him.

"Well I look forward to meeting your sister. Mischief is something that I might be accustomed to, although it has never been proven." He grinned at the thought of his past deeds. If that had ever been able to prove it, he probably wouldn't even be here. "But Quidditch is something we have in common. In fact, I was on my school team back in America. I played Beater for them last year, and we came in second in the league. The league consists of the 3 teams from America, and 1 from Canada. Those Canadians won the league for the 3rd straight year last year... dirty canucks."

He was rambling and he knew it. Yet another thing in common with Ms. Kerry.

Ryan walks quietly in the common room. After a quite strange potion lesson, he needed to take a break and relax. As he walks toward the couch, he noticed that Kerry was there with another boy. By the looks of it he could feel something but he didn't want to make any comments so he decided to whistle just for fun. This would probably embarrassed her but he had fun. Sitting on the couch loudly, he put his books in front of him.

"Oh, my last name. Umm, yes... that would be Brandywine." Kerry smiled. "Kerry Brandywine, but Kerry is fine, no formalities need here."

Kerry watched as Sang seemed just as uncomfortable as she was, fumbling with his robes and pulling at his tie. "Was it something about her that did it to him?" she wondered, she didn't mean to make him uncomfortable, but there was something that was beginning to intrigue her about him, too now.

"Oh..no you don't want to meet Agie, she'll ahh...torture you. She loves to pick on new students...kinda put them through the ringer, you know?" Kerry quickly jumped in, imagining what she'd think of the situation right now. It wasn't really him she'd torture, but rather..her. She loved seeing Kerry squirm in these situations, but she wasn't going to tell that to Sang.

"Really? You were on the quidditch team? Wow! So why didn't you try out for the team?" Kerry demanded, playfully throwing a pillow at Sang. "We really need some talented players out there...especially when I'm having a day like I did today." she laughed. "Man, that's really cool to have interleague play. Here we only have interhouse play and an occasional all-star game with staff or something like that. It would be amazing to play other schools." Kerry said mesmerized by what she was learning from Sang.


Kerry jumped when she saw Ryan in the room. "Just who I need now, he'll get the biggest kick out of this." Kerry thought to herself. "Oh...um hey Ryan!" Kerry said all flustered. "Have you met Sang? Sang transfered here from America. He was just telling me about Quidditch in the states." Kerry speaking so quickly she nearly stumbled over her words
