Hepzibah bounced her way to the Potions classroom holding a piece of parchment delicately in her hand. She pinned up the notice whilst humming humpty dumpty - one of her favourite nursery rhymes - and then headed off to get something to eat.

Lua raised an eyebrow at what the substitute was saying, poor professor Branxton is probably locked up somewhere in need of assistance. Yes, they have locked him up as bait to get their book.

She began coughing or more so slightly chocked "Sorry professor" she said when she regained her breathing. Now she needed to stay focused and monitor the professor's behavior closely.

"I would go with Yara-Ma. My ancient skeleton?".

Megan raised her hand, "My favourite stuffed dalmation Spot!" She yelled out. "Don't hurt him!"

Neva raises her hand. "I have a locket of my late mothers that would break my heart if I lost it" she admits. She bites her lip at remembering the amount of times that had almost happened this year. Being forgetful yet guarding something precious was a very bad combination.

Anything precious that I would hate to lose? Sini thought about the question for a moment before raising her hand, "Professor, my family is precious to me; I would hate to lose them. Although I realize you might be speaking about an object that I find to be precious, in which case there are a few things I would hate to lose. I have a necklace my Grandmother gave me a few months before she passed away that I would be lost without as well as a ring my Aunt left me after she died a few years ago. Those are sentimental things that I would feel an emotionally loss, but then there is my planner which I use to keep track of everything I need to do, I would mentally be lost if I was unsure what I had to do that day.” Sini was unsure if this answered the Professors question, but she had to try.

Erinelle shrugged again, wondering where the heck this lesson was heading off too and raised her hand politely, "My head," she answered stoically, not really showing much emotion through her pale face and her bright blue eyes studied the Salem Professor curiously. Her answer had been true, she'd hate to suddenly go mad.

Hepzibah turned to the Gryffindor who spoke first, "My dear, lets stay focused on the lesson. Shall we?"

Her attention moved back to the answering pupils who seemed to relate well to the question, "I am glad you all seem to understand the concept of something being precious. However," she stared at the enthusiastic Gryffindor from earlier, "I didn't mean just an object my dear child, people can be attached to lovers, family, friends. Everyone gets attached to something and someone. I'm glad you pointed that out, 2 points."

"Most of you fell into my trap which I hinted at earlier: the easiest questions can be the hardest to answer. Well, most of you gave fantastic answers, but I was only looking for an answer! one thing that was most precious to you; but some of you couldn't decide. 2 points to the stuffed dalmation lover since she was the first to demonstrate what I actually wanted to see."

"Now, before we do lose our heads," she winked at the Gryffindor who suggested it, "we shall carry on." The Professor finished writing up the list of things the students gave, on the board, and returned to them with another question. "Who can tell me to what extremes would you take to protect, save or try to find your most precious valuable? hmm? Lets hear them!"

Trelane felt on edge. Something seemed very strange about this lesson. He raised his hand. "Give stuff up, like a reward. Some things I'd give up my life to find."

Erinelle's face cracked into a grin suddenly, emotion pouring through her expression and eyes. She was suddenly warming up to this Proffessor, she liked her other sister, the one she had danced with quite a bit, but this Professor she didn't know so well but she seemed to have a good sense of humour. She raised her hand again and spoke up clearly, "I'd go to any lengths, i'd probably push myself to the limit, if worse came to worse, i'd probably die for it." She was now accutely aware she wasn't talking about loosing her head any more, but something much closer to her heart.

Extremes? Cassandra thought... it was hard for her to thing in terms of extremes, and then she looked at Trey, smiled and raised her hand. "Professor, I would defy my mother's will, and reveal my deepest secret to keep what I hold dear." She was proud of that. She had remained friends with Trey even though her mother had instructed her to stay clear of him because he was muggleborn.

Neva thinks for a moment. She thought it a very absurd question. Finally deciding on an answer she replies " I'd sacrifice my good lucks and youth" she says with a wry grin, much like Gilderoy Lockharts.

She turns to Erin, grinning. "Honey. You would die if you lost your head anyway" she says, giggling.

Sini smiled realizing she had gained two points for Gryffindor. "Oh, I guess that makes sense Professor. If I had to choose one thing then it would be my Mom above all those other things I mentioned before. If she was in danger or I had to protect her, I would do whatever was necessary. I would not be able to lose her, I would be heart broken." Sini said after raising her hand.

"I would die before my ring, which has been in my family's posession for hundreds of years, was lost from the bloodline." Cameron stated straight forward and evenly. For her, the need of the many out weighs the need of the one.

Her grey eyes remained locked upon those of the Professor, even if the Professor was not looking in her direction. However, she had started twisting the large silver ring around her left finger. Its face was encrusted with a large, sparkily emerald. On one side were intricate carvings that swirled about one another; an ancient family crest adorned another side.

No matter how interesting this little chat was, Cameron wondered how on earth this related to Potions. Undoubtidly, Professor Hart would have some clever reasoning. Or perhaps....perhaps she was speaking of that book that they lost. It was, after all, the hottest gossip going on about their visitors. The Salem Professors seemed bent on getting it back.

Sebastian rose his hand. "I'd most likely do anything for that thing which is most precious to me. It may get to the point where nothing else matters once it's gone. Once it's gone it may seem like there isn't any reason to go on."

His answer was rather...dreadful, but it was truthful.

Professor Hepzibah didn't expect so many death answers, "All of your answers are perfectly good, but I was expecting something a bit more simpler than that. Ah ha! See the contrast there? the more complicated questions tend to have the more simpler answers!" she couldn't help but giggle a bit at her knew philosophical finding.

"Anyway, I was thinking more about a spell of some sorts to regain it, because lets face it... you say you would all sacrafice your life to save your most precious item or thing. It is not going to be much use to you when you are dead now is it?" she winked at them and wrote up some varied answers on the board.

"I am going to tell you a little story about a woman and her precious thing. So if you all put your equipment and books away, ears open and no thinking just yet. Just listening. Something Hester isn't very good at," she cackled at her own joke of her precious sibling.

He then began putting away his potions supplies. He had a feeling it would be a story about old people times. His great Aunt would tell him stories like that. ::

My precious item would go to the next heir of the Branch family bloodline...but no matter. She thought inwardly.

Cameron glared toward the boy who felt the need to exclaim his loyalty to Slytherin house. Even though she herself was a proud Slytherin, she did not go yelling it when the Professor had asked for silence. She would rather he not belong to their house at the moment in time.

As Professor Hart explained to them that she would be telling a story, Cameron felt as though this would not be a happy story. She had a bad feeling about the Professor's intentions; the book, she figured, must play a role somewhere.

"Here we go" Neva sighs quietly,so that only Erin and Cameron can hear. She leans back and places her feet onto the table. If she was being forced to endure another tale about the sisters beloved book, she thought she may aswell be comfortable.

"Okay, before I tell my story. Lets do some ear exercises so I know you all won't miss a thing!" She stood up from her desk and signaled for the class to do the same. "Now after three we are all going to start wiggling our right ears with our LEFT hand, okay? 1, 2, 3!" Hepzibah began wiggling her right ear with her left hand, encouraging the students to do the same with her right hand.

Erinelle leant forward and got ready to listen, she figured that a certain reading item would most probably be mentioned at some point and she was all ears. She smiled at Cammy briefly, noticing her expression and figuring she thought the same about the book too. She grinned at Neva before hearing the Professors latest instructions and bursting out laughing.

She grabbed her right ear and shook it with her left giggling her head off. Thinking they were to be doing the same with the other ear and hand.

Neva throws a gormless expression to the Professor before resigning herself to the inevitable. She takes her right ear and wiggles it so slightly that one wouldn't notice she was doing anything at all.
