As you enter the classroom, you first note how at the right and left you can find empty long tables. It seems that they have been used frequently, and you are left wondering how they have been able to withstand so much use.
The herbology tables are made out of wood and are spread out enough to give everyone enough room to take notes and practice with the plants.
However, currently, this classroom is locked. Professor Virohsa will surely open the classroom tomorrow, once the class starts. Once the classroom is opened, you are free to walk inside, find your spot, and await your first herbology lesson.

"The outstanding achievements of The Compendium of Materia Medica are shown in several ways. First, it has abandoned the classification of the medicinal materials into upper, middle and lower classes but has instead put forward a new classification based on 60 types under 16 classes； second, it gives precise names, places of origin, curing properties and process methods of the 1892 medicinal materials included in the book； and third, by adding 374 new medicinal materials it has enhanced Chinese medical science； and fourth, it has recorded more than ten thousand recipes, three quarters of which are newly recorded, and this is a great contribution to Chinese pharmaceutics." she added.

Kalaya scribbled down some more notes, added what was being repeated a lot. She always thought that if many people are saying the same thing, it is almost always true. She was only a second year, and had never attended Herbology before so she didn't know, well, any of the answers.

The Four Natures method pertains to the degree of yin and yang, ranging from cold (extreme yin), cool, neutral to warm and hot (extreme yang). The Five Tastes are pungent, sweet, sour, bitter and salty, each of which their functions and characteristics. The Meridians refer to which organs the herb acts upon. "

Spirits soaring, Jessica entered her first class this term. It was still slightly impossible to believe it, but she was back – finally back at Hogwarts – back where she belonged. Inhaling deeply, she let her eyes wander around the class.
Taking several deep breaths, her mind throbbing from all the information, Jessica noted it down neatly. The pile of paperwork was getting out of hand now. She shuffled it slightly and tried to rub out the blot of ink that had fallen on the parchment. A ripping noise informed her how her parchment had torn from the middle. Crumpling the paper in her hand, Jessica stuffed it in her bag. Pulling out a new roll of parchment from her bag, she laxly began to write.
“Shen Nong, Shen Nong, Shen Nong,” she muttered under her breath, carefully outlining the name. She was certain she had read it somewhere.....[I[Not that hard, but still hard,[/I] she thought, jotting down some more facts. She decided to add what she knew about the man to everyone's answers, though she would mostly be repeating what others had said.
"Shen Nong," she began, hand high in the air. "Was a legendary Chinese hero, also known as Yan Di--" she paused a bit. She wasn't sure she was saying it right. Frowning slightly, she continued. "He lived from 2,852 too 2,737 B.C and awas known as the father of the father of agriculture; he invented wooden ploughs and introduced the concept of markets and trade; he also invented Chinese herbal medicine and tea." she stopped. Yes, she was sure she had that right....
