Professor Virohsa frowned. "FUN? You think it is funny to commit battery, assault, panhandling, and bullying?!?", she snapped. "It may be funny in your home with your parents, but it is NOT funny here at Hogwarts", she continued. "Also, it wouldn't hurt you to talk properly. There is no ain't word, the correct word is isn't. And you use I when referring to yourself in the subject", she frowned. What was wrong with this girl? Was she so delusional that she was unable to talk properly?

"30 pts from Slytherin and detention for you", she said coldly. "I expect you re-think your behavior and consider what is appropriate in situations outside of your parents' home", she told Selena. "Unless you want to add anything else that could increase your punishment?", Professor Virohsa said as she waited.

Turning her attention to Alex, she looked at her for a moment. Alex certainly looked distressed as well as confused. "As for you, your actions are commendable, dear. And I shall award you 5 pts".

Great. Selena had managed to lose Slytherin thirty points. Well, twenty-five, considering that Alex had gained five points back. What in the world was Selena's problem?! I mean, why couldn't Selena just listen to what she had to say. At leastthey would not be stuck in Virohsa's office right now, and Selena would not have a detention. There was a small part of her that felt bad for Selena getting detention with Virohsa, but the truth was she deserved it.

With one last glare at Selena, Alex then glanced up at Jaren. She jerked her head towards the office door. She needed to talk to him. But not in the office. Outside somewhere. She let Jaren lead the way, and once he exited the office, she stepped outside and slammed the door shut, fuming with rage.

Professor Virohsa glanced at both of them leaving. She then turned and walked back towards her desk, where Laurasia was still sitting by. "Sorry, dear. I'm afraid that couldn't be helped", she said as a formality. "So, where were we?"

Laurasia had been sitting in the chair sipping her tea as she listened to the entire exchange. She rolled her eyes at certain moments & let out an exasperated sigh when the points were, inevitably, taken away. "This is just what I'm talking about," she thought to herself. Even though Slytherin was winning at the moment, it just seemed as though things could change very quickly due to such childish antics.

She cooed to DeeDee softly as Professor Virohsa shut the door & returned to her desk. She smiled at the professor. "Oh, that's okay. I know how busy you usually are. We were just discussing...childish & inappropriate behavior," she said with a slight giggle. "Well, I will bear your advice in mind & try to be more vocal when I encounter such things on the parts of my fellow housemates. I don't want to keep you tied up any longer though, I'm sure that you have a ton of things to do & I have homework to tend to as well." She placed DeeDee back in her bag & rose to leave.

"Thank you for the tea & the talk, Professor Virohsa. They are both very much appreciated." She smiled brightly & quietly exited the office.

Professor Virohsa nodded. "Very well, dear. I will see you around", she said as she turned her attention back to her notes.

Patrick knocked on the open door, before he entered and said, "Professor I was wondering if you needed any extra help in the greenhouse this week? I know you had some helpers a few weeks ago but didn't know if you still needed help. I am a hard worker so you can depend on me. I am always walking bye the greenhouse on my way to the Magical Creatures Hospital. I been helping out there as well.

Professor Virohsa nodded as she listened to the Gryffindor boy. "Thank you dear, you are too kind to offer your services. I believe the bulletin board box will be placed right after class. So make sure to drop your name in!", she explained.

ooc- class is on saturday. So the "box" in the bulletin board after Lesson 2, should appear then!

Jaren made his way to his Head of House's office, letter in hand, and an unreadable expression on his face. He knocked on the door twice and waited to be let in.

Nadia walked though the corridors and into the Herbology area, to find that there was already a person waiting. She blinked and did a double take when spotting the letter in his hand. He had been summoned then - wait, he? Too? Wait wait wait wait --

Standing besides the door as well - since she was sure Jaren had spotted her by then, making introductions looked somewhat lame -, she silently waited to be let in along. Unless he had been summoned for a different matter, but... Nadia was somewat convinced they were in there in fact for the same reason.

Professor Virohsa glanced towards the door. "Come in", she said in a very cold tone. Having to call a Prefect to her office was not something she had expected to do this term year.

The wait wasn't long at all, and as suspected that had been their cue to enter. So once Jaren had pushed the door open (he was nearer the door), Nadia followed inside before stopping on her tracks.

"Ah, should I wait outside - I mean, do you want to see us separatedly, professor, or should I..." she gestured the room, asking if she should invite herself in or not. She had already taken as fact they were here, Jaren and her, over the same issue.

Professor Virohsa looked at Nadia and nodded. "It may be faster if you both come inside", she replied. Professor Virohsa put down the quill she was using and moved aside some parchments to her inbox folder.

She waited for both students to close the door and sit down.

Ah, another suspicion she was right about. Gulping, almost not noticing it, Nadia walked in finally and closed the door behind her. Then went over and sat in one of the chairs facing professor Virohsa's desk, waiting for her to be the one to start talking.

Idly she wondered who and when had Virohsa been given notice of that small happening.

Jaren entered the office without a word. How was it that he had managed to convey insulting professors left, right and center without actively attempting to?

At least accuse him of something he had done...

After both students were inside and seemingly settled, she motioned them to sit down.

"I've heard, as you probably know, a certain episode that took place during History of Magic. I do not know 100% of the details, but I know enough to know that Nadia was particularly vocal towards Professor Lainey.. and that Jaren didn't try to control the situation nor support the Professor. Would you two care to divulge any further information regarding this incident?", she said as she looked attentively at their eyes.

Jaren returned the Professor's stare with his own deep green gaze.

"I did do both of the above," he said calmly, "once it was clear that both parties were becoming increasingly more distressed. It began as a light discussion on Professor Lainley's lesson, however I believe a comment or two touched a sensitive nerve with her and was mistaken for an offensive comment."

Granted, he was not as good at resolving verbal conflicts as Zekke was, but he did attempt his best.

Professor Virohsa nodded. "I have no need to remind you that part of being a Prefect is to support your Professors and to help restore order in a chaotic situation.. especially, when the reputation of the Slytherin House is at risk", she said severely. If you were listening intently, you could probably tell by the small strain on her tone that she was most angered at this. However, if you were not, then you would notice nothing for her voice appeared to be cold as always.

Professor Virohsa frowned. "I will expect you Jaren, to either write a letter or talk to Professor Lainey. I want to make sure you apologize for your inactiveness and reassure her that you will fulfill your role as a Slytherin Prefect. You have your choice. Just make sure that you do.. And if you do not know what such duties are corresponded, I would suggest that the easiest route to take is to agree with the Professor in question during that event.. even if you personally disagree with it", she said slowly and quietly. After all, that was the Slytherin way to resolve issues -- taking the safer stand that could provide the best alternatives.

Though really there was no need to remind Jaren of his duty--if one thing could be said about him, it would be that his sense of duty was very, very keen. In any case, face expressionless as always, he nodded shortly.

"I will be more alert in the future of such circumstances," he said neutrally.

Nadia gaped, trying to talk, but Jaren had spoken before. And that's what she was going to say, too. The exchange continued with Nadia meaning to speak but in the end managing only to gap like a fish, finally, and since she coudln't raise her hand (it would look odd to say the least), she stood from her seat, gesture that she wanted the attention.

"Professor, if I might," she started, "Jaren did his job. The one thing she did was taking me out from the classroom to prevent further... distrain. Now," she stopped trying to clear out her thoughts. "The situations leading to this were that Professor Lainey decided to make her first class on the concept that one learns from History. Oppossitely, I believed that history only teachs that history repeats itself and hence nobody ever learns from history, and defended this stance.

"I made it into a debate, attacking that idea, but it seemly looked like a personal attack. Maybe I choose the wrong place and time. I guess I felt disaproval to be taught something against my personal beliefs."

Nadia opened her mouth again, closed it and gulped. "But I have not the professor's past nor she has mine..." we are bound to have different outlooks of life. "On the matter of appologizing, we have. Gan - I mean, this other girl had the most creative way to make an appology. I appologized personally," she frowned, "and Jaren shouldn't appologize, he did nothing wrong. What I don't understand is who told you of this happening, if the professor herself received and accepted my appology last week."

She was still doubtful about what the professor had been meaning by the reputation of Slytherin being at risk. It wasn't as if it was already disastrous, they were Slytherins after all; they were used to the bigotry. But it might appear to Virohsa, maybe, that this was a new thing.

Professor Virohsa frowned. So.. there was someone else involved as well. "Well, I daresay child, if you stuck your finger inside a burning stove you will burn your hand. After you have burnt your hand, you will learn not to stick your hand in there as well. And yet, some learn and some do not. So, you were both correct in that sense. However, this does not excuse outrageous behavior inside the classroom that could have been managed more diplomatically", she frowned.

"And yes, your behavior was more erratic than Jaren. However, as a Prefect he is expected to perform at higher standards. Even though he didn't fail as a student, he surely didn't act as a Prefect when he engaged in the debate and failed to support the Professor", she explained. Professor Virohsa looked at Nadia quizzically. Trying to figure out why she thought that Jaren needed protection. Jaren was very capable, and needed none. It wasn't like she was going to give them detention.

"And as to the reason of why I am talking to you right now, as your head of house I have the responsibility to talk to you even after you have taken personal steps to remedy the problem. And from your tone and words, I will assume your apology only refrained to your behavior during that event and not your debate or inability to contain yourself. As such, I can only assume that such behavior will occur again when a different topic arises", she said severely. She remembered too well Nadia's outbursts in the Halls last term when she was trying to kiss boys.

Nadia narrowed her eyes a bit, not liking at all what the professor was implying. "Maybe I do have such problems, but a professor has duty to educate the students over pass on ideologies. Anyways, I wouldn't have spoken my mind if the professor hadn't asked, and as for outrageous behavior -"

She stopped, unbelieving, "Would you want to put me under Legillimence, or take my memories into a pensive and examine it closely, before going on? I believe you are thinking under the implications that it was outrageous behavior and not a misunderstanding?"

She gulped forcefully. OK, she was loosing it again. That was not the - arg! How she dare - Nadia had been handling this diplomatically enough as it was, but as of right now.

"Why would anybody support any other only on the authority one or the other has?" she finally asked. "I can see how Jaren would be asked to put order, which he did. But to support the professor in what sense? Besides, you are again talking under the presumption that this was an attack to her. Her behavior, as in getting offended by what I said, came as a surprise to me. If I can't hold a debate with another human being without arising a personal battle, I shall refrain from having that debate with that one person. But that is all I can promise."

All the while thinking, Why the authority of a professor would undermine mine as a person?

Professor Virohsa looked at Nadia with a hint of curiosity and wonderment. "Ah, no dear. I did not expect you to perform Prefect rules. I expected you to be able to hold your temper or at least not insult a professor. Those are normal student expectations."

Professor Virohsa grinned slightly at Nadia's behavior. She had a strong backbone that could be proven dangerous in a different setting. "Very well, I shall then expect you to refrain from having arguments with that specific professor. That is well enough", she added. "You two may leave now.. unless you have any other comments you wish to discuss", she told them.

Nadia blinked. In all honesty, she was expecting a more vivid response. Even a lecture! She wasn't exactly sure what the lecture would be about, but she did expect it to come. She hadn't exactly been talking like - hadn't been - Ah... anyways. The confussion was enough to disipate the previous irritation.

Still, she was dazed and didn't come with an answer immediately. "Yes, professor," she finally said, regaining enough sense to respond coherently. Jaren was still having to appologize but, she didn't dare push it further.

She started standing up, when a thought stuck her and she suddenly stop. "Professor, you talked about making amends with professor Lainey's in you letter. Do you want me to... go over an appologize to professor Lainey again?" Which was intriguing a thing, and not to say a bit embarrassing to go there on the same thing. Lainey might think she was pulling her leg with both appologizes?

Professor Virohsa glanced at Nadia. "No, dear. I think one apology and the fact that you will not engage in any future debates with her is good enough", she told her.

Jaren didn't understand Nadia's desire to...try and weasel him out of the situation when he'd already accepted it as it was. As if it was that hard to perform the specified tasks. Nadia's speech might have caused even more problems in a different setting, and managed to set off a twinge of annoyance which was not apparent on Jaren's facial features.

"I have no further questions," he said finally to Professor Virohsa.
