For this next creature, I am using a specimen from our very own hospital down on the grounds. Some of you may have seen it before if you have visited. I know 2 of you definately have.

Moving to the tank again she replaces the sheet again, and then removes it to reveal a snake-like creature about a metre long, swimming lazily in the water.

Does anyone know what my little friend here is?

Violet took notes. Especially the answer for her asked question.

Violet raised her hand slowly and said "Proffesor, is it a Boomslang?"

Nadia raised her hand, "A sea serpent?"

It is a sea serpent! Can anyone tell me any tales, funny or not, of sea serpent sightings?

kass raised her hand "isn't the loch ness and the ogopogo a sea serpent?" she said

Kristal took notes furriously and shot her hand up in the air. "Umm..... Well there is that one story. The Lochness Monster. The story goes that that serpent arose from the creepy dark waters. He continues to mystify many muggles."

Violet thought oh man! first I thought it was a sea serpent! She raised her hand and said "My friend once told me that she've seen the lochness monster in Scottland. She said it was freaky."

Kalaya finished her notes and thought for a moment.

"When I was in the muggle world one of my friends went to summer camp. When she came back she had many stories. Most were ghost stories, but one included a serpant. It was about a swimmer, who went swimming after lights out. One of her friends had been watching her when she spotted a sea serpant. She yelled to warn her friend, but her friend couldn't hear her. She saw the serpant look her way and then her friend's way. It dived under the water and she saw her friend screaming and being pulled under. The girl ran away and back to her cabin before it came back up. Needless to say, the girl told all of her friends what had happened. But the next time she went swimming she disappeared. Many of her friends believed it was the serpant that had pulled her under because it didn't want news of its existence to get out.
Later my friend thought she saw the serpant, she described it as a snake, and it creeped her out. She wouldn't go swimming the rest of the trip. As far as I know, she refuses to go to any lakes that have had any reports of sea monsters."

Kalaya leaned back in her chair wanting to hear more stories but also wanting to move on.

Lol, yes, that sounds like a typical hysterical muggle story. 3 points. Except that sea serpents don't harm humans. Hehehehehe...

"In my country theres a leyend that a little boy captured a serpant and took it to his house, but the serpant grew bigger and bigger until one night it broke the cristal of his house and took of to the lake. They say the serpent has grown to be a monster and that you cannot go swwiming in the night because the serpant goes hunting boats at that time. People aroubd the lake swear to have seen it, but theres never been any photos to see the truth."

'i remember when i was 6. it was my birthday, and we were in a ship. we saw a sea serpent in the sea and it didnt do anything to us, but a muggle nearby claimed that it was attacking our boat and he believed he saved our lives.Muggles,things they come up with.'

Alex glanced around at Jaren who she knew that he didn't like snakes or any kind of serpents under any circumstances. Slowly, she pushed her chair back, to get as far away from the creature as possible and half-listened to the stories that the students were telling.

She had bad experiences with snakes. Not very pleasant when you wake up in the morning and you find them slithering around in your bed. But enough about that.

Kalaya smiled as she took note that serpants don't harm humans. She liked hearing all the different stories, but she was also eager to move on.
I hate it when this happens Kalaya thought.

Lily raised her hand to tell a story. "Professor, when my neighbor went on a cruise, she said that her cruiseboat got caught in a storm. It almost sunk when, all of a sudden, it stopped rocking. Some of the sailors said that they had seen a big snake. Could it have been a sea serpent that saved the ship?"

Heshasa raised her hand...When my uncle was a child around 6 or 7 he claimed to have seen a serphant head rise above the water while he was swimming. Since his parents were muggles he thought it was going to eat him and all so he ran as fast as he could back to land. And refused to swim, fish, or even go out on the dock for the rest of the trip even though his parents insisted he was seeing things.

Pacilla thought and thought. Then she remembered a story about her muggle aunt. "Professor, awhile back when I was 7, my muggle grandmum told me and my sister a story about my granddad and my aunt, and two muggle uncles. They were going fishing, I think it was like 7 or 8 in the evening when they went out and about half an hour in my aunt thought she had seen a slithery snake like creature rise a little out of the water. Though it was dark and before she had time to tell my granddad, it was gone... Maybe that was sea serpent?"

It's actually alot more likely a Ramora saved them.

There has never been a documented case of sea serpents attacking humans. They just aren't agressive.

"What about the one where two guys on a fishing trip who were trying to catch fish for dinner that night were heading back into the docks when they hit someting in the water and they thought it was a weed so they kept onm going but then evertime they tried to strt the motor it wouldnt go and then as they were looking down at the motor they saw two gigantic eyes and they never saw anything ever again No one heard them ever again either."
Emily started to laugh as she told the story she had heard it many times throughout her city and wondered if anyone would think it was funnt too.

Emily raised her hand again.
"Arnt they long and have green scales all over there body and bright red eyes. there mouths are big enough to swallow a large ship in one bite?"
Emily was nervous but she decided to answer question whether they would be wrong or not.

No, that is just a mythical or legendary description.

'Sea Serpents are alarming in apearance. they can reach lengths of 100feet. it has a horse-like head and a long snake-like body that rises in humps out of the sea' ali said

"Sea serpents have a horse-like head and a long snake-like body. Also, they can reach lenghts up to one hundred feet," Alex spoke quietly from the back of the classroom, her hand raised.
