Linnea raised her hand, "Merpeople?" she suggested, knowing that there had to be a reason for merpeople to tie the legs of plimpies (ooc: plimpys? *shrugs*) together.

"Do you mean a kind of animal, or a creature?" Xavier asks. "Becuase they eat snails, so I'm sure that they get on snails nerves."

Kalaya scribbled down notes and thought about the question. She shrugged, unsure of the answer. So she listened intently to find out the answer.

Violet raised her hand said "I think it's merpeople."

That's right, and yes they do tend to tie their legs together. 2 points! They do that in the hope that it will be a few hours before they return. They will very rarely use any kind of violence against them, but you do get the odd one just like in every species on the planet...

She walked closer to the tank, holding the spherical mottled fish with its long legs ending in webbed feet.

As you can see they are quite dark in colour. Where are they known to inhabit?

She flipped through her book quickly, trying to find the answer.

"No one knows exactly, their habitat remains as mysterious as the centaur's. Although, the ones who have mastered their language say that Merpeople live in highly organized communities varying in size according to habitat, while others have elaborately constructed dwellings," Alex replied quietly, her hand waving in the air.

Erica, flipping through her book to the part detailing Plimpys, raised her hand to attempt another answer to the professor's question.

"Plimpys are known to inhabit the bottom of deep lakes, mainly to search for food."

Sangeetha raised her hand 'Please Professor, Plimpys live at the bottom of deep lakes where they are in search of food, such as snails.'

She thought for a split second then said 'They tend to nibble on the feet and clothes of swimmers, too.' She smiled. That part was actually funny for her, but she knew she wouldn't like it if she had a Plimpy nibbling her clothes or feet for that matter!

Jessica raised her hand again. "Plimpys usually live deep down in the sea where they get food more easily," she replied, getting more and more interested in the lesson by the minute.

Sangeetha raised her hand.

'Professor, what are the usual interests of Ramoras, as in food? Do they hibernate?'

Correct! 2 points. Yes they prefer a diet of snails when they can get it, though they will sometimes snack on plants that grow down there as well. The plimpy is vast in numbers and they are in no way under threat, so there are no special restrictions pertaining to them.

The typical diet of the ramora consists of small fish and shellfish, and sometimes even certain marine plants. They do not hibernate, they are active all year round. They do sleep for short periods when needed and usually find themselves a hole or crevice that they can hide in from predators, though they are extremely fast and can usually outswim any shark. Good question, 2 points!

Now we are going to move onto another water dwelling animal.

She again moves back to the tank, covering it, muttering a word, then pulling the cover off a few seconds later. Students stretched their necks to see, but seemingly the tank was empty. The water was very shallow, only a few inches deep, and only a few weeds and a chunk of wood could be seen.

I wonder who can spot the creature for me and tell me what it is?

"A Dugbog, professor," Jaren said, raising his hand.

Nadia titled her head, considered it. Since they couldn't see it, might it be that it's a Moke? Or something small, like an Hipocampus? She did a double-take, not taking into account its appearance now but the habitat when considering it might be a Kappa.

But. A dugbog. Ouch, of course. It made sense.

Yes, if you look closer at the 'wood', you will see that it does indeed have eyes. It is a dugbog.

What ministry rating do they have?

Nadia raised her hand, this time with some more confidence. "XXX, trained wizards can handle them."

That's right. Now, what habitat to the dugbog reside in?

"Marshes found in Europe and North and South America," Alex answered, her hand waving in the air.

Great, 2 points. They glide and slither through the marshland looking for food. Fill this in:

Alex raised her hand again. "They feed on small mammals and will injure the ankles of humans," she spoke quietly.

"Their favourite food, though, is Mandrake," she added as an afterthought.

Great, 3 points! That's right, mandrake is their favourite food, so many farmers ofetn resort to violent means to rid their crops of dugbogs, making them in danger of becoming an endangered species. Can anyone think of something a farmer could do to protect his crop?

Professor, since they mainly attack small mammals, couldn't one get a larger mammal, perhaps a dog to "scare" them away?

"Well, a scarecrow looks not to be the usual procedure, and besides dugbogs don't seem to have any natural enemies. But yeah, a larger mamal might do the trick. Another option I can think of is that the dunbog, because it resembles a piece of wood, might be as prone to get on fire. Hence, might fear fire, and as consecuence we might be able to make a fire ring around the crops to defend the place.

"The worst part is maybe that the dunbog has this capacity to slither down the earth to look for the mandragora's roots and therefore there's the problem with defending the roots down there. A preventive messure could be taken by a matter to dry the pounds where the dungbogs live or might live.

"Still, you need to actually check down there too and there's probably no way to fight them. At least, not a creature to be able to get down there that the dungbog might not feed of. Lastly, I would also recommend setting traps for the dugbogs, which should be easy, the snare being any small animal like a rat or so."

Violet who is always late to answer the quesitons started to take notes again.

Heshasa continued taking notes feverishly. There was no way she could get many of these questions.
