"Well Destine, a forked line could mean a coming decision, though if it is an arrow, it could mean bad news or a message of some kind. The foot could represent the need to keep up, walking on, or it could be telling you to stop what you are doing, and to walk away from the past. So it would seem to me that together they are telling you to finally decide to leave something behind, to leave it in the past, and to move forward to better things in your life." |

Noticing her nodding off, she was surprised to see her write something down. "So you did see something, you say a butterfly... that could mean you are expecting some sort of happiness or pleasure to come your way. It could also represent innocence or a some kind of transformation as well." |

| Professor Kotkin moved to the front of the class. "All right class, if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask, but it is time for class to end. Finish writing down what you see and carefully return your orbs to their proper shelves. I'm happy to see you all doing so well! In our next class we will be studying tasseomancy, so make sure you come thirsty!" she said smiling down at her students. (ooc: I will be assigning homework and giving out your class points for participation in the next few days. It's been fun!! Thanks!) |

Ginny was very impressed about Professor Kotkin's answer.
"Wow," Ginny said under her breath.
Grabbing her quill and parchment, Ginny wrote down the meaning of her tea leaves. After she was done she waited for further instructions.

She smiled slightly at the Professor. It wouldn't be correct to say she believed in signs, but she wasn't exactly a skeptic either. Divination would certainly be interesting this year.

Kiaria smiled in relief at the Professor's words. "Thanks, Professor." She finished copying her notes and returned her orb to the shelf and sat down to await further instructions.

Rosa nodded to the professor and quickly wrote down the meaning on her parchment. She gazed in her orb one more second before grabbing it and returing it to the shelf, but she didn't see anything else than mist. then she returned to her desk and packed her bag. she put it over her shoulder and said 'bye, professor' as she walked out.

Laurasia finished writing down her notes & then packed her things into her bag. She carefully picked up the orb that she had been gazing with & gently replaced it on the shelf where she had gotten it from.
She then grabbed her bag & left the classroom.

Ginny packed her things away. She had been doubtful about Divination but she had found this to be very enjoyable. She left with a smile on her face.

Every shadow she looked at seemed to be turning into a big, juicy, unhealthy hamburger... or a plateful of fried chicken... she could even smell it, for crying out loud...
Her left hand rose and smacked her on the head.
Peony scowled. That was another reason why she didn't like Divination. You were supposed to 'let go of yourself', but if she let go, there was another one, waiting right there to take over. Get some self-control.
The Voice always wanted to spend her money, reflected Peony sulkily. A spine, then self-control... did it know how much these things cost? Don't you dare take control over anything. So you can get whacked in dueling again?
Peony barely stifled a sigh. Get over it.
Her eyes caught something in the mists. It looked like... something like muffins...
Peony blinked and tried to ignore her esophagus. A book. Beg pardon? If you sort of go upside down, squinch your eyes and ignore everything else, it looks like a book.
Peony would dearly have liked to know how the Voice went upside down in her own head, but she didn't. She just did as the Voice suggested. Oh yeah, it does look like a closed book. Or a rectangle. Or a blank.
But closed book was the only one she managed to find a meaning for: a question needing investigation.
Peony frowned. Slowly the smoke began to move and formed something that looked like a cartwheel with the sides taken off. Erm... cartwheels, cartwheels... It's a daisy. Well, excuse me, Ms. Botanist.
But it did bear a little resemblance to a flower. And there were no cartwheels in the book. Peony flipped to the D section, and her cheeks became a little pink. The daisy meant a new love.
Well. That was interesting. Her lovelife - or lack thereof - might improve. That was nice. Of course, that was before the smoke began to resembled something like an empty checkerboard.
It curved slightly at the edges, wavering.
Peony poked at the Voice slightly. You must be blind... It looks like a net to me, but I wanted some confirmation. Yeah, I think you're right.
Net: A trap.
Peony groaned out loud. "Wonderful." ( ooc: I apoligize sooooo much for missing this.) Professor Kotkin noticed (finally) Peony had written down her vision. "Well Peony, you have seen a book. A book represents discovery, information or education. The daisy could mean love ahead, hope of some kind or even simplicity. Even if it is some other flower, it symbolizes love or some token of affection. Next you see a net. You are correct in saying that it represents a trap, but it could also mean gathering. Since the book could also mean seeking information or gathering, like the net has shown, I would think that along with the daisy.... you will be gaining some information about or from someone. Either you have affection for this person, or they have affection for you. Hopefully this information could mean that you will find that your feelings are mutual, and therefore can move forward in your friendship, or maybe better yet, romance." she said blushing again. |
