Somewhere between the doors leading to the Wampus and the Pukwudgie common rooms lies another door, leading to yet another of the strange quirks of the school. Namely, the Ilvermorny gymnasium, set up with all sorts of exercise equipment in one area, and the rest taken up by an expansive court used for basketball, volleyball, tennis, and just about every other indoor activity that it might be needed for. Not only that, but there’s a storage area for the balls, along with a small gymnastics training facility and weight-lifting equipment. Along with that, a climbing wall stretches up along one side. Ilvermorny wants you to stay healthy!

Something like that. He had been a young child, so yes it had been several years. Zi would agree that it did feel like they had known one another since forever. And he would always be thankful to his family for adopting him and his sister. It was okay, Zi got it. They would always be best friends. No one understood him better.
Alright, alright. So they both were worthy opponents when it came to being one another's sports partners. "Let's see who gets the next point.." Zion commented as his eyes focused on the ball that Hunter sent his way over the next. Backing up a few pages, he gave the racquet a good swing connecting with the ball and sending it back over the net again.

Even Hunter was thankful that Zion had come into his life, and he always would be. The other guy was someone he could always rely on; everyone needed a Zi in their life and if they didn’t have one, then Hunt was incredibly sorry for them. See? He could also always count on the adoptive cousin to understand him. In this case, understanding that they were both worthy opponents.
Yes! Let’s see, Zi!
Hunt’s eyes were trained on that optic yellow coloured mass that was the ball. It came at rapid speed at him. He acted quickly by swinging the racquet energetically. The hit sent the ball at full speed back towards Zion, and he immediately went into a moment of panic thinking that it might smash into him.

Hunter had nothing to fear, Zion wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Even if for some reason distance came between them, Z would always find a way to be there for H if he ever needed him. That was one thing they were both really good at, being there for one another.
Zion watched the ball coming at him quickly barely having time to raise the racquet in his hand again to give it a swing before the very top of it barely connected with the ball. Rather than hitting the ball downward or out towards the net like he had expected to happen, the ball flew upwards and came straight back down even more quickly smacking him directly in the face just as he happened to look upwards checking to see where it went.
Oops.

Anytime soon?
If Hunt had heard that, he would have been eyeing Zi with some amount of horror. They had always been close so Hunter would find it quite off-putting to have to adjust his life with such a huge change. As it was, he knew better. This pair would be playing tennis and all the other sports for years and years to come.
The future author was ready to receive the ball, ready to hit it back in the direction from which it would have headed from. But nothing at all like that happened. He watched, as though in slow motion, all the antics of the ball which resided in a collision of the ball with Zion’s face.
“Z!” Without thinking, H took off for the opposite end of the court, rounding the net and sidling up to the other boy. Already he was checking for blood and perhaps {hopefully not!} a broken nose. Healer Hunter was in the house!

There was no reason to panic! He had only meant that perhaps they might end up going to different universities or something like that when the time came. That was even if Z chose to go that path after he graduated. Right now, he still had no real plans for what he wanted to do with his future. Besides all the obvious things anyhow.
The impact of the ball with his face, shouldn't have caught him as off guard as it did. But one second Zi had been watching the ball go up in the air and the very next.. well.. it was hitting him right in the face. Somehow, he hadn't gotten hit in the nose but squarely beneath his left eye on the cheek. There was no doubt going to be some swelling and a very nice bruise.
"Think that's your point.." he commented quietly, blinking back a few tears that stung his eyes. Yeah, that couldn't be helped after being hit in the face with a ball. See, nothing to worry about, H.

Oh…
Hunter had not thought about that. He did know that he wanted to study Literature but he hadn’t yet seriously mulled over where he wanted to go. When the time came, would he purposely decide to go to the same Uni as Zi? He didn’t know but what he did was that he really couldn’t picture not constantly being in the adoptive cousin’s life.
It happened. Such injuries were a part of sports. The racquet was dropped at their feet as he focused on more important things. Zi’s nose seemed fine but it was a spot under his cheek that was injured. “Thank goodness the ball didn’t get you in the eye.” The relief was evident in his voice. Hunter momentarily left the other boy to grab a towel from the rack that was kept for players. “Oh yeah, the point.’’ He grinned, Zi’s words now sinking in. “Mine for sure. That means I win. Hold still for a bit?” With his wand pointed at the folded crisp white towel, he muttered “Glacius!” He allowed enough icy air to touch the towel but not enough to freeze it. “Here.” Carefully, the towel was held against the injured cheek. “Better? The cool will help with the sting and swelling.”

Now why in the world would Hunter do something like that? Z, expected him to get into a top rated school for Literature and not let anything or anyone hold him back. There was a chance that Z wouldn't make it into any of those big schools.
Sports injuries for him were rare thankfully. So all he could hope for now was that it wasn't all that bad. "My eye is fine." He confirmed, setting the racquet on the floor while Hunter went to get a towel. 'You won on a technicality," Zion reminded him lightly, his tone still quiet but also playful. The cold towel pressed to his cheek felt nice but it didn't keep him from winching slightly at first anyhow. "Besides it being cold? It's fine." It's could've been much worse than it was.

Don’t ask him but other than he had become attached to Z, there really wasn’t any other reason. After all, the boys had been on their academic journey together all their lives. As for Z, why did he continue to sell himself short? That guy was brilliant in his own way! H secretly thought that Zion would do well as an athlete or studying art.
“Yup, I see that.” That was a great relief. Hunter imagined that an eye injury would be terrifyingly painful. “It’s still a win, I’ll take it, Mister!’’ Only Zion would be suffering from an injury yet cracking jokes. The hearty chuckle that Hunt gave at the technicality jest was enough to prove that. Now he was rolling his eyes. “You know very well that it's supposed to be cold.” Hunter leaned down to grab the racquets. “Come on. Let’s go sit on the bench for a bit. We can head back inside afterwards.” He just wanted Zi to rest for a while so that that injured cheek would be able to get some proper attention, with Hunt replenishing the Freezing Charm if needed.

This was true. They had always been together throughout their entire schooling all the way up until now and would continue to be until they graduated. Well, when it came to academics, Z wasn't very brainy. Sure he passed his classes but not with a fair amount of struggling. Maybe all he really needed was that good ole' shove in the right direction from someone that was always looking out for him when that time came.
Indeed. An eye injury was not all anything Zi wanted to experience. It really would've put a large damper on the day and perhaps longer depending on how bad it was. Thankfully it was on his cheek. "The win is yours but next time I'll really wipe the court with you." He had to make up for how how badly this game had just gone! "But does it have to be THIS cold?" Yep, he can still be a pain in the behind after getting hurt. "Yeah, okay.. good idea. Lead the way." He would be following right behind Hunter. Maybe getting off his feet and sitting down was a good idea.

Zion was rather brainy in his own way. This was something Hunter was adamant about. Yes, he did know the other boy struggled with certain aspects of their academics but H was always there to help. In any case, whatever Zi might think he lacked there, it was certainly made up for in that artistic talent.
Ooh, there it was again! Zion’s smartmouth! Hunter obviously could not help but laugh. “We’ll see about that. You best be prepared to play your best games yet.” As for being a pain in the behind? Maybe to others, yes, but Hunture was a vessel of patience when it came to Zion. “Yes, it is. How else are we going to keep the swelling away?” Shaking his head at Zi’s silliness, he led the way to the benches. “If you think that you ought to see the Healer, let me know.”
