The Big Bang Theory, which I’m currently rewatching, has always been one of my favourite sitcoms. I fell in love with Sheldon because of his intelligence and quirks, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when a spin-off focusing on his childhood was announced. Young Sheldon, much like TBBT, quickly became another show that brought me immense joy, largely thanks to its unforgettable lead character.

That said, Sheldon isn’t the easiest person to live with, as we often see in his various relationships. His many quirks and particular needs frequently drive his family and friends a lot crazy But despite all that, I’ll always adore him for how wonderfully unique he is.

The quote below is one he often uses when someone looks at him like he's lost his mind:

Prompt #17: Hot Tempered
Character Name: Anthony Edmund Bridgerton
Character Origin: Bridgerton

Anthony wasn’t my favourite in Season 1; let’s just say he displayed some qualities I wouldn’t exactly encourage. That said, I did notice redeeming traits even then: he’s a protective brother who only wants the best for his siblings, and his love for his mother is undeniable. It wasn’t until Season 2, though, that I truly began to admire him. With the arrival of his future wife, Kathani Sharma, we finally got to see the real Anthony: the romantic, the devoted, and the deeply caring man behind the stern façade.

Of course, he’s also hot-headed, which is partly why I chose to use predominantly red for this graphic. The colour not only reflects his fiery temper but also complements his passionate, romantic side.

Prompt #30: Shackles
Character Name: Dexter Morgan

The original show - Dexter - premiered 19 years ago From the very beginning, I was captivated by both the series and its lead character, who has since become my all-time favourite fictional serial killer. But Dexter is no ordinary killer - he only punishes those who frequently harm others. His compulsion, known as “The Dark Passenger”, has been both his shackle and his driving force throughout his life.

Below is one of Dexter’s quotes describing himself and the meticulous way he carries out his punishments - highly organised, precise, and methodical. Red was chosen for this graphic to reflect his work as a Blood Spatter Analyst by day, while the black and darker tones symbolise the control his Dark Passenger adventures by night.

Prompt #28: Rejected
Character Name: Stitch
Character Origin: Lilo & Stitch Animated Series & live action movie

The creator of Stitch originally designed him as a way to cope with his own feelings of rejection. That theme carries strongly into Stitch’s story - especially in the recent live-action movie, where he’s judged before a council that wants nothing to do with him because he was illegally created for destruction across the galaxy.

Now, we all know that after a bit of *minor* chaos, Stitch managed to befriend Lilo and her family and from there, we got to witness his wonderful character development as he became soft, caring, and genuinely loving. And honestly, didn’t he look squishily adorable through it all?! I swear I get a major case of cute aggression just watching and listening to him

Here's my all time favourite Stitch quote, which really does apply to many of our lives In my mind, the confetti represents the fun and laughter he brought Lilo; the flower outline could be a flower used to make leis {which further signifies the setting of Hawaii} and the blue naturally represents Stitch.

Prompt #16: "Call me a 'silly ghost' at your peril, whelp. You are speaking to nobility."
Character Name: Totodile
Character Origin: Pokémon Games & Animted Show

Totodile is one of those Pokémon that you fall instantly in love with. A Water-type starter from the Johto region, I was completely smitten the moment I first saw him! More specifically, Ash’s Totodile - endlessly bouncy, cheerful, and impossible not to adore. His happy-go-lucky energy reminds me so much of my RPG character, Idris Grunt; they both radiate the same boundless enthusiasm and good vibes.

For this graphic, I chose a shimmering water background to reflect Totodile’s element and his bright, playful spirit. The blurb captures one of his most iconic quirks - that good-natured tendency to chomp on anyone {or anything} nearby. It’s part of his charm, really: all heart, all joy, and just a little bite of mischief.

Prompt #13: Pride
Character Name: Nico di Angelo
Character Origin: The Percy Jackson Novels

Nico di Angelo has always been one of the most complex characters in the Percy Jackson universe. As the son of Hades, he carries a quiet intensity that sets him apart - a mix of darkness, loyalty, and deep emotion that makes him fascinating. Beneath his brooding exterior lies a brave heart full of love!

He came out of his shell after finding friends at Camp Half Blood, enough to admit that he is gay has a crush on Percy. He eventually found his match in Apollo's son, Will, and the contrasting dynamic of their personalitites - Nico being dark and brooding, Will being bright and radiant - always warms my heart.

This graphic features one of the quotes that never ceases to make me laugh; it certainly is a testament to Nico's sass.

Prompt #10: Rage
Character Name: Detective Elliot Stabler Sr.
Character Origin: Law & Order; Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; Law & Order: Organized Crime

Elliot is a brilliant detective, a loyal friend, a devoted family man, and above all, deeply compassionate to almost everyone he meets. I say almost because that compassion doesn’t extend to the bad guys. Alongside these traits, Elliot can be quick to anger - especially when a case isn’t bringing justice to the victims. In my opinion, that very fire fuels his determination to solve each case, no matter the obstacles.

Beyond his work, I’ve always loved his friendship with his former partner, Olivia Benson. The two were partners for many years and remain fiercely close. Of course, it’s been strongly hinted countless times that there are deeper feelings between them. Twenty-six plus seasons later, the Law & Order writers still keep us guessing and, honestly, I eventually gave up hoping they’d make it official.

For Elliot’s graphic, the red background represents his anger and intensity, while the yellow symbolizes his loyalty. The quote featured is one he once said to Olivia <3

When Ravi first appeared on the show, he was introduced as a new junior firefighter. As the seasons went on, we got to see more of him, which made me very happy!

Though he’s one of the more recent additions to his firehouse, Ravi has quickly proven himself to be one of the most capable firefighters there. He’s always eager to learn, a true team player, and radiates warmth. That’s exactly why I chose warm tones for his graphic - to reflect his personality - while the blue represents water, a vital element in his line of work.

Prompt #15: Peeves
Character Name: Timothy Farragut McGee
Character Origin: Naval Criminal Investigative Service {NCIS}

Tim first appeared in Season One as a probie - a probationary agent finding his footing. Like anyone new to a job, he was often nervous and sometimes unsure of himself. But as the seasons progressed, those early traits gave way to growing confidence as he consistently proved himself to be an exceptional field agent with impressive tech skills. In more recent seasons, we’ve even seen Tim step into the role of Acting Director of NCIS - a true testament to how far he’s come. Aside from his day job, he's a fiction writer with his novels being bestsellers. He's often classified as a 'nerd' on the show owing to his love for video games and science. This, combined with his knowledge of tech has earned him the nickname "Elf Lord" by his colleagues. Needless to say I fell for him, his 'nerdy' personality his intelligence immediately and 23 seasons later, he still is my favourite

Why did I choose this prompt to represent him? Back when Tim was a probie, he was often the target of harmless office pranks. Over time, as he moved up the ranks and new probies joined the team, he started pranking them in return - carrying on the tradition in true NCIS fashion.

Prompt #26: Gloomy
Character Name: DeShawn Jackson
Character Origin: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Sydney {NCIS: Sydney}

What can I say about DeShawn? The biggest fact? Here it is: I find immense joy in watching him investigate crimes - not just because of his excellent looks but because he’s witty, charming, and a true gentleman. He shares some fantastic banter with his crime-solving partner, Evie, who loves teasing him at every opportunity. There’s definitely a slow-burn romance brewing there, but hey, a girl can be a little miffed when someone gives her favourite character such a hard time xD

DeShawn is not only brilliant but also deeply compassionate - qualities I really admire in him. And that’s not the only reason I feel connected to his character; I later discovered that the actor who plays him has Guyanese roots! Learning that after I’d already started watching the show had me doing a happy dance

NCIS: Sydney has only two completed seasons so far {with Season 3 set to premiere in just a few days}, which means we still don’t know much about the characters’ backstories or personal quirks. One reveal about DeShawn, though, absolutely blew my mind - he loves eating pizza with hot honey. I kid you not. The below quote is him feeling a little gloomy after he was left in charge of the team and Evie began ribbing him.

Prompt #02: Nobility
Character Name: Lucy Tara
Character Origin: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Hawai'i {NCIS: Hawai'i}

Lucy is the youngest member of the NCIS: Hawai‘i team, and I’ve always seen her as the “baby” of the group. Not just because of her age, but because of how her teammates look out for and protect her. Don’t get me wrong - Lucy can definitely handle herself - but she’s built such positive, healthy relationships with everyone on the team that they can't help but have her best interests at heart. Oh, and did I mention she’s incredibly short? That’s another reason she’s earned the title of “baby.”

NCIS: Hawai‘i may have been cancelled last year, but I still think about Lucy - her humour, bravery, kindness, and the love she showed toward her friends, colleagues, and girlfriend. I really wish we’d had more episodes to learn even more about her.

Prompt #04: Powdered Wig
Character Name: Dwayne Cassius Pride
Character Origin: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: New Orleans {NCIS: New Orleans}

It's been a few years since this show has been cancelled but Dwayne lives rent free in my head. There are many traits in him that I admire: his ability to capably lead a team and investigations; his compassion; his loyalty; his protective instincts; his stability and calm; his principles. I think it's the principles by which he lives his life is most important to me, as he always chooses to do what's right despite how difficult that sometimes is. That being said, Dwayne can be passive-aggressive when investigations are not yielding results that he wants. But overall, a really decent fellow

Dwayne's a huge fan of music, which is the influence for the quote ang graphic. Whenever he's going through something painful, he turns to his music; he's an avid piano player.

Prompt #29: Groaning
Character Name: Martin "Marty" Deeks
Character Origin: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Los Angeles {NCIS: Los Angeles}

Another member of the NCIS franchise which was cancelled but left me with a memorable character. We first met Marty when he was assigned as a LAPD-NCIS Liaison Officer {over time, that position was terminated, and he was promoted to a full fledged NCIS Agent}. What made me attracted to Marty above all was his sense of humour. Sometimes that humour pops out at inappropriate times, and the jokes can be bad which leaves his colleagues groaning and grumbling He uses that humour as a means to hide behind any pain he's feeling as much as to cheer someone up.

The graphic is a tribute to that episode where Marty went undercover as a tennis player, I believe {it's been years since I saw it} It was a funny one and so it stuck with me.

Prompt #08: Grey Lady
Character Name: Mary Jo Hayes
Character Origin: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Origins {NCIS: Origins}

This is the prequel show to NCIS. Season 2 premieres in a couple of days but that first season! The agents are always busy with one investigation or the other so the office can get wildly chaotic. That's why it is necessary to have someone who's the 'glue that holds everyone together'/someone reliable to provide support to that team. That's Mary Jo.

Mary Jo is my girl. I love Mary Jo.

She's dependent, compassionate to the point where she goes out of her way to help others. She's not afraid to call others out when she sees them doing something that doesn't define what a good human should be. A woman with a tragic journey through motherhood, despite having no children, the graphic is a dedication to the four miscarriages she suffered which eventually led to the end of her marriage.

Despite all that pain, my girl perseveres. My girl remains kind. My girl remains strong.

Prompt #05: Stains
Character Name: Ali Abdul
Character Origin: Squid Game

I don't think I can write much about Ali given his fate; if you've watched Squid Game, you'll know why his entire storyline hurts for any viewer who likes him. All I will say is that he is the kind of friend you would be lucky to have for life.

The pink colours of the graphic represent the guards' outfits, the green the players' outfits. The seemingly endless tunnel, one could say it represent the long, mysterious path the players walk in an attempt to emerge a wealthy victor.

Prompt #03: Chains
Character Name: Seong Gi-hun
Character Origin: Squid Game

Now that I think about it, I don’t quite have the mindset to delve deeply into the Squid Game characters - everything they went through was just too heavy. What I can say, though, is that Gi-hun stands out as one of the most humane characters. He risked his life for strangers when he didn’t have to, and that compassion defined him. I chose chains to represent him because his humanity bound him - chained him - to being a good person, even under the crushing weight of his struggles.
