Andrina was busy concentration on the door as she heard Lili talk to her. "Shh. Did you hear that?" She asked as she pressed her ear to the door, sure enough she could hear a voice, but the words were rather difficult to make out. "I think... it's talking.. about.." She trailed off, her eyes wide.. "The minister.." She chewed on her bottom lip for a minute, "Maybe I am wrong though.." She added

Lili listened intently while Vivienne was in the room. At first she heard nothing, then muffled voices. She wondered if Andrina was right and what was being said was actually about the Minister. She sure hoped that she was wrong and that that wasnt what she had heard either.

The voice was like listening to someone slowly rake their nails down a chalkboard. "Zis iz not normal for ze Veil," Vivienne whispered through chattering teeth. "What we do?"

The voices started and shivers shot down Elijah's spine. An eerie feeling swept through the room, and he slowly pulled out his wand. "I don't know what we can do. Part of me wants to stay, and hear if it say anything else. The other part just wants to shut it up. That's not right."

He crossed the room slowly, daring to get closer to the veil. "It's never done this before?"

"No. Zis is not ze normal behaviorz. Eet iz obviouz zat it wants ze Minister for somezing," Vivienne said through chattering teeth. "Zere 'as been nozing else."

POWERFUL . . . FOREVER.

"Any suggeztionz?" she asked. "Or do we do nozing until after ze conference?"

"I don't think bringing the Minister here would be the best idea." Elijah shook his head, mentally adding this to the collection of weird things going on in his Department. "Let's cover it up for now. I'll make sure he at least hears word of it."

He waved his wand, and a bubble-type shield sprang to cover the archway. Suddenly, the whispers ceased, but the veil still waved as if in an invisible wind.

"Just leave it in there for now. If anyone asks... say it was malfunctioning, or something."

He shuddered, knowing the possibilities of the veil, and everything associated with it. Something, plainly, was not right.

Vivienne nodded and whipped out a small notebook where she recorded the time that the spell was placed over the Veil. "I shall remind ze workerz not to tamper wiz ze Veil," she said in a somber voice and put the notebook away.

"Good. I appreciate your fast action on this, Vivienne. I see hiring you was not a mistake." He shook her hand and then unlocked the door. "They can come back in now. Thank you again."

He nodded his head once, opened the door, then set down the hall to return to the Hall of Prophecy.

"hello, Is there anyone there? I've been sent her by Elijah Wright, to work here for the time being.'
She waited hoping someone would be in there.

Vivienne was still decked out in her Dior dress and shoes when she reached the locked door. Pulling out her wand, she undid all of the protective charms and with a shaking hand, unlocked the door. It creaked as she pushed it open and a cold gust of air escaped.

All was still and quiet in the room.

The voices coming from the Veil suddenly ceased and all that was heard was soft whispering and the swooshing of the tattered hangings. It was now normal....

A week later

Vivienne returned to the Death Chamber and unlocked it. But before sending off memos to her department employees, she had one memo to post.

A lump formed in her throat as she stood back from the bulletin board. She knew the French Minister. He was an old family friend and the one who personally wrote the letter that gave her her present job in the British Ministry.

But there was no time to think about the past. There was a list of assignments to be completed and a report to be drawn up regarding the behavior of the Veil.

Lili took a minute to read over the note on the door before she entered the room. She pushed open the door and entered the room. She'd been gone for so long, but she could still remember what it felt like to walk into the room and be over whelmed with a feeling of cold. She pulled her sweater tighter around her and walked across the room.

Vivienne looked up from her desk where she was proofing her report on the Veil. She nodded her head at the two employees who entered. "Zee old memo board notices need to be removed," she said curtly and pointed to the rubbish bin near the door.

Lili nodded and made her way over to the board, she began taking down the notices, reading them over as she worked. She left the recent one on the board, and placed the others in the garbage.

Lillian stood up and began to pace in circles around her desk. "How is it", she wondered, "that it is so cold in here, and every step I take the sound echoes"
Sighing, she sat down, bored, and began to get to work.

"Ahh-ahh-CHOO!" Vivienne had a handkerchief over her nose when she sneezed and cringed at how loud it sounded. "Pardon. Eet iz my allergies and zee coldness of zee chamber no help." She snapped shut her report and watched her employees at work. "Lili and Lillian, we need to catch up on zee filing since zee conference is over." She nodded at the pile of work stacked near the filing cabinets that blended in with the wall. "If you want, go get somezing hot to drink while you work."

Lili nodded at what Vivienne said, and made her way out of the room.

Five minutes later

Lili walked back into the room with a fully insulated mug, she'd used a replenishing spell on it so she didn't need to interupt her work. Making her way over to the filing cabinets she got to work.

After DA had showed Nico the way to the death chamber, which is hard to remamber, he entered the room. It was a large and dark room and really mysterious. Theo nly thing Nico came into his head was "Wow".

Then he walked inside, looking if there is somebody and said into the room: "Hello. Anybody here?"

Lili glanced over as the door opened, but she didn't want to lose her concentration so she kept filing and waited until he walked over closer to say,'Hi, I'm Lili.'

Nico looked arround and walked through the room. Then he saw a woman who is really conentrated with her work. He walked to her.

"Excuse me. My name is Nicolaij Drakow and 'm here to start my new job here in the death Chamber" he introduces him.

Lili listened while he talked, and then said, "I'm just an employyee here, but your new boss is over there." She lifted her hand and pointed it in Vivienne's direction. "It's nice to meet you," she told him.

Vivienne had been standing on the opposite side of the room and the Veil obscured her view of the door. But when she heard a new voice in the room, she instantly became alarmed. Her heels clicked loudly on the floor as she made her presence known. "May I inquire as to who you are?" she asked and held up a handkerchief to her nose as she sneezed.

Nico turned to Vivienne "Blees you", he smiled, "My name is Nicolaij Drakow. I was sent from Mr. Wright to start here my new job as an employee for the death chamber" he explained.
