Serena walked into the office and stared around. She was new and had no idea what to do first. So she walked up to the nearest person she found,hoping it was the department head. "Hi,are you by any chance Samantha?" she said a little anxiously.

Miley walked into her office and sat down at her desk.How was she exactly suppose to do these tests?The Professor wrote her back.This was soooo complicated.She pulled out some files and started to look through them.Maybe an idea will hit her soon.

Samantha stopped by the office. "Hello ladies, I was just making my rounds and wanted to see how everyone was doing." She noticed that Miley seemed confused about something. "Don't forget that if you need help with the OWLs and NEWTs you can send me an owl at any time I will try to help out as much as I can." She smiled. "You are all doing a great job!"

Miley looked up at Samantha."The Professor hasn't written me back about what the students are learning and I don't know what to do..."She shuffled some papers around.

"I can try to give you some help via owl, maybe a few suggestions to get you started," Samantha told Miley. "Do you think that might be helpful?"

ooc: Oops! Sorry about that!

Entering the room and hearing Miley's question Jay piped up "I had that problem as well. What I did is to try my best to make the tests to how I think they would benefit the Students." She told her. "I can help you as well if you need any."

OOC: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA!!!

"Via owl?What's that?"Miley said."But anything that might help,I will try."

Samantha placed the poster up for everyone to look at -

Piper read the notice and sighed

Annamaria finally made her way into her department, and she noted that it was slightly odd, being on the last level. The populace of the lift had grown smaller and smaller until she had been by herself, and then she was alone again in a hall. She looked around, wondering where everyone else in her department was. " Well, I suppose I had better try to find someone," She muttered to herself as she put her hands on her hips in a determined manner.

Samantha was walking by the Examinations Authority room when she noticed the new employee who had arrived. She stepped inside, holding her hand out in greeting. "Hello there, Annamaria, isn't it? Welcome to the Department of Magical Education. I'm Samantha Rose, Head of the Department. You may always feel free to visit me any time you wish. My door is always open to my employees."

ooc: Attention everyone! I want to try and make the Department a more entertaining, fun place for all of you to work. Toward that end, I have a thread where all of you can come to help brainstorm plots and other fun things. Come participate, your ideas are welcome, always, and we need your ideas! Planning Thread

Annamaria turned quickly at the sound of another woman's voice and she was instantly at attention. She smiled easily as her new boss introduced herself, and reached out, giving Samantha's hand a firm shake. " Yes, that's me," She said amicably. Nodding, she released the other woman's hand. " Ah, well that's very reassuring. I'll probably be there every so often; I ask a lot of questions." She laughed.

"That's fine, I don't mind," Samantha said. "I enjoy a little company now and then, actually, and we're here to help, so ask away!"

Annamaria pursed her lips briefly in a thoughtful manner, trying to figure out what her first question should be." Well, I would like to know what sort of projects the department has going on right now." She said hopefully. " That way I can get right in on the action, as it were." She said with a jovial shrug. She thought for another few seconds and then she spoke again, as if she had been surprised. " Oh! I suppose I should know who I'll be working with the most too, " She laughed a little," It would be prudent to know my colleagues." She smiled again, and thought how lucky she was to have a superior that was so easy to talk to.

Samantha thought a moment. "Well, right now we're just making the final preparations for the Ministry Convention which will be coming up very soon," she said. "We've done a lot of planning, putting together the OWLs and NEWTs which are going to be used in the schools from now on as well as compiling lots of research, and I know there will be another large project coming up soon." She thought again. "Your co-workers here in the Examination Authority are Gayle, Gabriella and Serena, then you have Alaina, Blair, Jay and J.J. on the Inspection Committee. They're all really nice people and I think you'll like them," she said honestly. "Oh, that reminds me, I know I came here to do something!" She then posted the following notice -

Lucy walked into the office with security. It was her first day at the Ministry and she wasn't very sure what she was suppose to do. She knew she had to find the department head and ask for some instructions. She saw two women talking and walked towards.
"Excuse me, do you know where I can find Samantha Rose, the department head?" she asked both. She didn't need to look at her notebook to see the name of the department head. She knew a few couple of things about Samantha and how it was like to work there. Nobody could say she hadn't done her homework.

Samantha turned and saw a young woman she hadn't met yet, but she knew that it was undoubtedly the new employee who was to come to the Examinations Authority. She smiled and said, "Hello, you are Lucille, or do you prefer Lucy? Welcome to the department. Annamaria has just started with us as well, and I was just explaining to her that we are getting ready right now for our presentation for the Ministry Convention, just a few last minute details. I also should let both of you know that we are looking for new ideas of things we can work on in the department, and that we have a new incentives program in place. This is an exciting time for all of us, and my door is always open should you have any questions at all. If you like, I would be happy to give both of you ladies a brief tour of the department, perhaps even a bit more of the Ministry, just to show you how everything works. Basically, the Examinations Authority does set the exam standards for the schools, in fact, we've just recently finished working on the OWLs and NEWTs which are going to be used, and I'm sure there is going to be much more work on that very soon."

"Yes. Lucy is fine, thanks." she replied also with a smile. She greeted the other woman with a polite nod. She listened to Samantha carefully. "I wouldn't mind to have that tour, if you don't mind." she answered to the other woman's suggestion.
OWLs and NETs. Things students hated. She knew that. She spend a lot of nights without sleeping due to the exams. She had a vision of how the educational system for young witches and wizards should be and she always tried to see the teenagers side. She used to do that with her 'nieces'. Eva and Ellie weren't in fact her relatives, but she felt like it.
Work. She didn't mind that. Her life had much more sense when she was working. Lucy liked to deal with pressure and paperwork.

Annamaria noted the other new employee, and she couldn't help but smile a bit as she thought about the abundance of women in the office. That was usual for education, though she thought. The majority of her primary school teachers had been women as well.

" Hello Lucy, I'm Annamaria." She said, giving the other woman a firm handshake. " It'll be fun to have someone with me on this tour. I've just gotten here myself too," She said feeling a sort of new-employee camaraderie with her.

Samantha smiled, she was happy to see the camaraderie between the two young women. She really did have a great staff, and she knew that the new Department Head was going to fit in reallly well here. She expected there to be lots of changes going on here very soon, and all for the better, an infusion of new blood was exactly what this department needed. "Well ladies, let's go and take that tour," she said happily.

ooc: Just to clarify, I myself am not leaving! I'm just planning to do a charrie switcheroo, stay tuned and find out!

"Hello, nice to meet you, Annamaria." Lucy replied to the Annamaria's greeting, shaking her hand. Other people usually thought Lucille was a bit cold. In fact, Lucy was a very formal person at the begining. A shy smiled appeared on her lips; she was use to work in a more competitive place, so it was good to the see people there were nice.
She followed Samantha.

Annamaria in turn followed after Lucy and Samantha, trying to keep the silly smile that moved over her face in check. She wanted to be enthusiastic, but she didn't want to seem like a giggling little schoolgirl either, she thought as she tried to put on a more serious face. But it was just so exciting, to think that she would actually be helping decide what the exams entailed. the offices were also actually very nice, warm and cozy feeling, but she wasn't quite sure why she hadn't expected them to be so.

Samantha was happy to show the department off to the new employees. "Oh, I wonder if both of you know that the Ministry Convention is going to be coming up in just about a week from now?", she asked. "This is going to be a super exciting event, the entire Ministry is going to be represented as well as people from all over the wizarding world. Many ideas are going to be shared, there will be a lot of learn, so I really hope both of you can make it. I'll have more details on this soon."

Annamaria perked up again as Samantha informed them of the Ministry Convention, and she nodded as she answered. " I had heard some of the others talking about it, but I wasn't too sure about what it was. It does sound very exciting. We'll be able to discuss so much with other education officials," She said. " I will most definitely be there," She said a bit emphatically. How many other first time Ministry employees got this kind of exposure to other ministries? She felt very lucky indeed to have been chosen this year.

" I know I am going to the Ministry Conference" J. J. Starr told Ms. Rose. " I told you this when everyone quit and I stayed here Ms. Rose" Joe Jon MontCenaggio ( J. J. Starr) told her.
