oh good...another post...cool...when i read this post which is between Jenna and Bellatrix i found a kind of true friendship which i thought Bellatrix had never experienced or never cared about...but this entire post showed Bellatrix in a bit of human way...it looked as if yeah Bella did have a great friend...even if that friend herself was a death eater...cool...waiting for more...

He had seen Bellatrix on her arrival, but his little talk with Andra had kept him away from a warm welcome towards her. Varius bounded up to her now, as she laughed in response to a little comment by Jenna, and those latter two decided to head a table in the corner of one of the gardens, for the refreshment stands had been conjured, their table-clothes complete with intricate tassels of gold.

But it was not to talk to the eldest Black sister, that he quickened his pace now, but to talk to the young woman at her side.

“Hey Bella,” he said warmly, as he came to a graceful halt in front of her, and took her by the arm, in friendly fashion. She was, after all, family. Not a close cousin, of course, but certainly a cousin – though, then again, the majority of pureblood families were highly inter-related: it could not be helped. “Jen,” he added, and his tones were suddenly deeper, more mature. Bellatrix noticed the change – as could be expected of one so observant – but, if Jenna did, she gave no sign of it.

“Varius,” Bellatrix acknowledged, with a half-friendly nod – the closest she would get to warmth, with the majority of people – though she was warmer with Varius, than most other people. They could even share secrets, if it ever had to come to that. Not that it came to such a turn of events often. “My, you cut a fine figure, tonight. But that’s to be expected. I’ve heard it runs in your family.” This was her cue to smile, though Varius noted – without surprise – that the smile did not reach her eyes.

But it was that smile’s custom not to.

For once, he ignored Bellatrix. “I said hello, Jen,” he said, tones rather uncharacteristically stiff, as he turned to Jenna – Jenna, who had remained quiet at his greeting, something of a silent spectator.

Bellatrix took a moment to bite her lip, rather uncertainly – Jenna looked up with wide, argent-like eyes. “Good evening, Varius,” she said cheerfully. She wore a smile as bright as the tones in which these words were uttered, but there was a strange sort of tension that suspended itself in the air now, and it did not take a genius to know of its presence. Varius raised an eyebrow, and it was clear that – for the umpteenth time – he did not like her attitude.

“If you do not want to talk to me, I will leave,” he said, most stiffly.

Jenna gave him a vague look – a look that maddened, though he knew, somewhere at the very back of his mind, that it was not, could never be, meant to. “Why would I not want to, Varius?” she asked mildly. “I talk to everyone.”

That stung. Stung brutally. “Do I come in the category of general people?” he asked, his tones growing stiffer by the second. There was something angry about them, too, and Bellatrix decided it was not her place to be here. This was, as far as she was concerned, Jenna’s problem – she, Bellatrix, was not needed.

“I will be over there, if you need me – Jenna, Varius,” she said out loud. She motioned towards an empty table, inclined her head, and turned round in a little swish of robes. Jenna would have bit her lip, but she knew she could not. Instead, she tried to grab her friend’s arm.

“Bella, wait –”

But she missed. Bellatrix had already walked off, and Jenna knew her friend would not turn back, now – that was the way Bellatrix was. But Varius’s breathing was heavy, even furious, and he suddenly turned away from her.

“You know you do not need to make a fool of me in front of others,” he said quietly. “Tell me to leave, and I will. Jenna –”

She could not. She would have loved to talk to him, and maybe at one time she had thought he was the one. But she knew he was not, now. She knew, and that hurt because they were close, unbearably close. She knew, and that hurt because she wanted the Varius she could share everything – everything – with, back. She knew, and that hurt because the wall between them was as inhumane as that wall was human.

“Mr. Lestrange –”

“Mr. Lestrange?” There was no rage in his tones, merely shock she could expect. “Jenna, why are you doing this to me?”

“Mr. Lestrange, you have to understand –”

“I can not!”

“That sometimes we have to –”

“I love you.”

Jenna fell quiet, her eyes wide.

Buttt ... why more? Wouldn't it be less pages, if you had signed in, before? -confused- ... and you ought to rememberrrrr.
