Ok, so here's what's happening. I have ideas ready for a next chapter and post ready, but earlier today I had to get an injection and my arm is really drowsy so it would be a pain typing up lotsa stuff. But I will try to post s'more in the next week because after next wednesday, I might not be able to update as regularly.

I finally managed to get a post ready, *feels stupid* so it should be coming up soon. Stupid ms Word messed up so I had to do losta weird things, but the post's still normal.

Chapter 10 - The Real Fake [weird name, weird chapter]
 

Chapter 10- The Real Fake.

“Is it in place?” Harry asked.
“Yes master, as soon as the boy touches it, it shall take him to his doom. What if someone else touches it before the boy?”
“Ah, my ingenious plan. The charm will only be activated after the wrapping is removed. It should be him who arrives.”
“That is great sir; it looks like this is going to be a good Christmas for us.”
A tear trickled down Harry’s face, but he wiped it off his rather flat nose. “Excellent, this will be the last Christmas he will live to see.”
“But sir, do you think he will be able to get away from us?”
“How dare you say that, the mighty Lord Voldemort will not be beaten by a sixteen year old child. You disgust me.” Harry spat.
“I’m am terribly sorry sir, I beg for your forgiveness.” The small dark haired man said, getting down on his knees.
“Avada Kedavra,” Harry said, sending a burst of green light onto the man kneeling, making him collapse on the floor.
A small rat shaped man wals walking and jumped at the sight of the corpse.“What is it Wormtail?” Harry’s cold voice said.

Bright sunshine, lighting up the room. A gently touch on the ankles, with a heavy load on the feet. The cold sweat trickled down his face as his arms reached out to put his glasses on. His first view of the room was blurry; all he could see was a pile of boxes, all in different colours.

“Harry, are you awake?” Ronald Weasley asked.
“Yeah, Merry Christmas, Ron, presents!” Harry said jumping out of his bed into his load of boxes.
“Happy Christmas, look. Mum finally got it right; she gave me an orange jumper with the Chudley Cannon logo.”
Harry began opening a small box with a book in it. He suspected it was from Hermione but checked the note attached.

It was great to see you again. I hope you enjoy your present just as much as Prongs and Moony did.

“Ron, look,” Harry said holding a book in his hands. On the front were a cat and a unicorn, with big bold letters saying ‘Animagi for Dummies’. At the bottom was a warning note saying that no one should try becoming an animagus by themselves. Funnily enough, this was partially scribbled out with the name ‘Prongs’ written next to it.

“Wow!” Ron said looking at the book. Do you think you could become one?”
“I dunno, I guess we could try,” Harry said going into open his other presents.
“Merry Christmas Harry and Ron,” Hermione said walking into the room in her pyjamas.
“Merry Christmas Hermione, thanks for the chocolates,” Ron said.
“Hi Hermione, that Quidditch book is awesome,” Harry said flicking through pages of a quidditch book Hermione had given him.

Yup, its a post.

“Hey Harry, where did you get that book from?” Hermione said.
“The Animagi one? Sirius got me it,” Harry said unwrapping Hagrid’s present. The usual rock cakes were in one container with Hagrid’s special treacle.
“I tried getting it out of the library, but Madam Pince said that we weren’t allowed to get it without a teacher’s permission. I was going to go to Professor McGonagall today.” Hermione said looking at the pages carefully.

“Look,” Harry said opening a small green box wrapped in black paper. “What is it?”
The object glinted as the sun shone on it, but then made a low rumble and glowed blue for a second.
“What was that?” Ron said looking at the golden object.
“It’s, well…The locket?” Harry said going out to pick it up.
“Harry, stop!” Hermione said putting her hand in front of Harry’s so he couldn’t touch the locket. “You saw it glow, and the noise it made. I don’t think it’s real.”
“So what if it glowed, wouldn’t that prove that it is a real magical object?”
“Magical object, yes. The horcrux, no,” Hermione said sadly.
“Is it a portkey?” Ron asked, reaching for his wand.
“It could be, we need to take it to Orios,” Hermione said, going to wrap the locket in the paper it was.
“Wait, if it’s a portkey, won’t it work through the paper?” Harry said, finally believing Hermione and blocking her from it.
“Yes, it would. We need someone to go get it,” Hermione said, she looked at Ron, then at Harry.
“I’ll go, that way I could tell Professor Orios about it,” Harry said. He slowly put his robes on and ran out of the common room, on his way to the headmaster’s office.

“So, your mum gave you a quidditch jumper,” Hermione said trying to make conversation.
“Yeah, it’s so cool, look,” Ron said pointing to the Chudley Cannon logo. Did your parents send you anything?”
“Yes, they sent me a necklace, let me go get it.” Hermione said running in the direction of the girls dormitory.

Ron went back to opening his presents, but looked out of the window as he saw something strange happening. The sun, which was in the sky was getting covered by something round. It slowly moved until it was in the middle of the sun and the rays were shining out of the side.

“Hermione,” Ron said as she came back into the room. “Look at that.”
“Wow, if that’s what I think it is, we’re very lucky to see it. It’s a solar eclipse, ah.”
They both gazed at the eclipse for a moment and then the moon moved away and Ron looked at Hermione.
“Is that the necklace?” He asked pointing to the thing in her hand.
“Um, yes, it is. Look, if you shine it in the sun you can see the crystals reflect it all.”
“That’s beautiful,” Ron said staring at her.

“Where is it Harry?” Someone said walking up the stairs.
“It’s in the dormitory, c’mon.” Harry said walking into the boy’s dorm.

Professor Orios, accompanied by Lupin and Sirius looked at the locket.
“Well, it looks like its safe, but it could be a portkey.” Lupin said.
“The locket, how did it get there?” Sirius said looking confused.
“You know about it?” Hermione said moving away from Ron.
“Well, partially. When my brother left the death eaters, he had that with him. He said that it was really special, but how did it arrive here?”
“Look, there’s a note.” Ron said picking up a piece of paper stuffed in the box. He carefully moved it out without touching the locket and read.

“The dark lord shall die, all with a touch.”

Just want to warn you that there is a semi-evil cliffy, so watch your step, but you won't have to wait long because I should be posting tommorow evening/ wednesday dawn

“Kreacher,” Harry said.
“What?” Sirius said.
“Well, Kreacher is on the search for the locket, so if he finds it, he’ll tell me.”
“Is he listening to you?” Sirius asked.
“Yeah, we made a deal. Kreacher, come out, come here, I want you now.” Harry said looking around.

Poof

A tall creature, with pointy ears stood in the middle of the room, accompanied by a short elf.
“Master wants Kreacher?” The tall elf said.
“Yes, Kreacher, did you sent me a locket?” Harry asked.
“No sir, we couldn’t find it, was just opening your present.” He said pointing to pair of socks in his hands.
Harry looked at Sirius, and then laughed.
“Dobby, do you like the socks?” Harry asked the other elf.
“Yes, Mr Potter, Dobby likes them lots.”
Kreacher seemed to only notice that Sirius was in the room and jumped, dropping his socks.
“You!” He snarled.
“It’s nice to see you too, Kreacher.” Sirius said with a grin. “I missed your manners whilst I was away. Nearly forgot how polite you are.”
Kreacher scowled at Sirius, and then looked at his new master, Harry.

“Hold on, if you didn’t die, then why did Kreacher obey my orders?” Harry asked looking really confused.
“Because I knew one day something would happen to me. I gave him the order of obeying anything you ever say, no matter what it is.” Sirius said, “But I still don’t know why he lied to you the night I died.”
“Master was busy, couldn’t let the Potter boy find out. T’was only a little white lie.” Kreacher said.
“Which could have cost my life,” Sirius said.

“Kreacher, Sirius, you can welcome each other another time, for now we need to check what will happen with this locket. You say that you didn’t send it?”
“No mister Loony,” Kreacher said glaring at Lupin.
“It’s Moony,” Lupin said looking at Kreacher, “so it is a trap then.”
“I guess so, and there’s no time better than the present.” Sirius said pulling his wand out.
“I knew you’d say that,” Lupin said. “Who wants to go and deal with him?”
They all said they would go, but it wasn’t possible.
“Fide, you need to stay with the school. Just in case their plan was to get you out of here.”
“Ok, but stay safe. Harry, take both wands.” The headmaster said.

Hermione said that she wanted to get changed and left the room, leaving the men alone. Harry and Ron got dressed in their outdoor clothes and got their wands ready. When Hermione returned, they were all ready to go.

“So, take hold of the locket in 3, 2, and 1, now!” Lupin said as he grabbed the locket.

Sirius, Ron, Harry, Hermione and Lupin began to disappear from sight, leaving the headmaster standing alone in the empty boys dormitory.
He was turning around and saw Hagrid’s treacle. He took a piece and put it in his mouth, realising after a few seconds that Hagrid had made it. His teeth were stuck! Luckily no students had seen him.

They were spinning in the air, with the sun flashing on them. After a few seconds they landed onto a large pile of earth. They had landed in front of a large house. But this house was familiar, for Harry had visited it in his fourth year. The last time he came here, he was nearly killed, and he felt that this time would be the same.

All the group stood up and tried to locate where they were, until they noticed a few tombstones. It was a grave yard.
“Excellent.” Lupin said.

Lol, the was one of my favourite lines, it's fun making the guy in charge look a fool.

The next post was supposed to be posted awhile ago, but I didn't have time, so here it is.

“What did you say, Remus?” Sirius said pulling his wand out.
“Excellent, unless they knew about it. Look,” Lupin said pointing at the graveyard in the distance. “Do you understand, Harry? Tom Riddle Senior was buried here, so his tombstone will be here.”
Harry understood what Lupin meant, but looked shocked. After all, the dark lord wouldn’t just send the Order to the sight for no reason. Sirius looked at Harry and calmly said what’s wrong. Before Harry could answer that a scream emerged from the local pub. The hanged man was situated past the graveyard, across the road. The group broke into a run suspecting what was happening in the muggle filled pub. Surely the pub was filled with the locals having their Christmas dinner.
As they passed the graves, they heard another scream and a flash of purple light filled the windows.
“Guys, get your wands ready,” Sirius said running towards the pub.
“Ready,” Lupin said getting ready to open the doors.
“Sure,” they all said.

Lupin opened the door and the group walked into the pub. It looked normal, but when the door was closed, everything changed. A few muggles were on the floor and some men dressed in black robes were sat behind the counter.
“Potter, what took you so long?” One of them said.
“Who are you?” Sirius asked walking slowly towards the counter.
“Oh, dear cousin. How I missed you,” A woman said. “You fooled us, but if you were clever enough you would have stayed away.”
“Bella,” Sirius spat.

A few muggles on the floor were screaming as they heard the strange talk between the wizards.
“Who are you?” A woman cried.
“We’re here for you,” Hermione said comforting the woman but keeping her finger on her wand.

POOF

“Where did they go?” Lupin asked, as the death eaters apparated.
“I dunno, lets go out and see. C’mon.” Harry said opening the door going back to the outside.
“Look, is that them,” He asked seeing more than a few hooded figures stood in the graveyard.

“Oi, Potter. Let’s make a repeat of last time, eh?” One of them shouted.

Harry’s scar began to sting more than ever, as he fell to the ground.
‘Go on, you can take a great shot, then I can bring your parents back,’ said a voice in Harry’s subconscious.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOO,” Harry screamed jumping up with the pain in his forehead. He shot of in the direction of the graveyard, with Ron, Lupin and Black behind him.
“Harry, wait,” Ron shouted trying to catch up with him.
“Ron, you can’t talk me out of this, either you help me or you go.”
Rons face went blank as he tried to control himself from sending a spell directly at Harry.

“Stupefy,” Harry shouted sending a red beam straight ahead. It hit one of the figures in the chest and the person fell down.
“Expelliarmus,” Ron said aiming at one of the death eaters who was raising his wand. “Accio wand,” he muttered, pointing at the death eaters arm.
“Sirius, Remus, help,” Ron said as dozens of spells were barely missing him. He slowly looked back and then shouted, “Where’s Hermione?”

‘Pop’

Hermione had apparated and began chasing the group, and she was an incredibly fast runner. Within seconds, she had caught up with Ron and was trying to think of a way to get help. She reached in her pocket and pulled out a rock cake. Aiming it at a death eater, she took a shot.
It flew past Harry and hit the woman in the nose. She collapsed onto the floor and screamed in pain as her nose had been broken.
“Nice shot,” Ron said with a grin on his face.
“Thanks,” said Hermione blushing.

They final had finished running as they came face to face with the death eaters. Around 3 were on the floor injured or unconscious, but more than 5 were up and moving.
“Avada Ked-,” one began.
“Tarantallegra,” Harry said aiming at him. The death eater’s legs began shaking uncontrollably.
“Petrificus Totalus,” Hermione said sending a full body bind curse onto two death eaters.
A red light flew through the air and hit Sirius. He had been knocked unconscious.
“Enervate,” Lupin said bringing Sirius back to the world.
“Harry, hide behind that tombstone,” Sirius shouted getting to his feet.
Harry ran behind a tombstone that happened to be Tom Riddle Senoir’s stone. A few death eaters all sent stunners at the tombstone at the same time. As the red beam of light made contact with the tombstone, the red light shot into the air. The tombstone had cracked in half and a silver shadow was out.
Lupin looked at it and summoned it towards him. He held it in his hands and closed his hands, muttering a lot of different words. A minute later, the horcrux exploded into a cloud of silver mist and disappeared.

The death eaters who sent the stunners looked at each other with fear on their face. They had just destroyed their master’s soul, surely they were in trouble. With their wands drawn out, they began to attack each other. The group from Hogwarts just stared at the death eaters. Soon enough, it reached the final two people fighting. Bellatrix and her husbands brother, Rabastan. They both turned and faced Harry saying, “You were lucky,” before apparating together.

Lupin walked towards Hermione and asked her something about what happened in the pub. He then pulled out a strange shaped telephone. He dialled a number and said, “We need some obliviators, an enforcement squad and a reversal squad, Muggles down, at location 4.”

“Location 4?” Harry said.
“Yes, we numbered each area suspected of containing a horcrux. This is area is no’ 4. Now I think about it, there are only 2 left. The goblet is still being searched for, but the owner has covered their tracks.
I think it’s time for us to return to Hogwarts,” Lupin said.
“Um, how?” Ron asked.
“What do you mean?” Lupin asked.
“Well, the portkey, do you know where that is?” Ron said.
“Erm, well, are you all up for a walk? We can apparate to Hogsmeade and then walk to Hogwarts.” Lupin said, chuckling.

Okay, if I didn't love Harry so much this would be the part were I would have smacked his achoo... sorry. I swear...Ron's just watching out for him...wanting him to be careful...but I guess it's understandable, you'd get tired after a while of the bad guys and then you just have to kick some achoo...

So much for your three week hiatus Ali... :lol: It's more like I took the three weeks off I'm sorry I haven't been here...I suck :cry: but you're cool and so your story and I'll be back later to read the other post.

I wanted to make Ron hit Harry but it wasn't the right time, :P. 3 Weeks fly dont they, I'm back home now so I'll be able to post normally.

As said above, I'm back home. You wouldn't believe how much I've written whilst being away, around 11 posts, inc' 2 chapters. Post next

They apparated back to Hogsmeade but stopped off for a butterbeer.
“Bet you didn’t expect Christmas to be like this, eh?” Sirius asked the group.
“The feast! We could make it if we ran, we have 30 minutes to get there,” Harry said, looking at his watch. The time was 4.30 and the feast would start at 5.00
They quickly finished their drinks and walked out into the streets of hogsmeade where it had started raining.

“Perfect!” Sirius said as his long hair was sticking to his face.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were having a race to get to the castle gates but were surprised when a large black dog ran past them. It got in front of them and then stopped, making them move to the side. Just as they were reaching the castle gates a ribbon of fire blew in front of the group from one of the dragons. Sirius transformed back into his human self and tried protecting Harry from the flame. The dragon moved back when Lupin arrived and bowed down. Its wings touched the ground and it placed its head in front of Harry.
“What’s it doing?” Harry asked looking at the head on the floor.
“It’s giving you a lift, go on,” Remus said walking onto the dragon with Sirius.” “But you need to keep a tight hold or you might fall into the lake,” Sirius said, laughing.

Once they were all on, the dragon rose into the air, and moved quickly over the grounds into the entrance gates. It lowered its head and let the others off and they went into the hall, prepared for a feast.

They walked back into the hall and saw the few people who had stayed over Christmas. Many parents felt that Hogwarts wasn't safe enough for their children stay over Christmas.
The house tables had disappeared and everyone was using a large table. A few Durmstrang students had also stayed at Hogwarts and were sleeping in a classroom made for them.

Most of the Hogwarts staff was eating when Lupin, Sirius and the kids entered. The all stopped and looked at them whilst Professor Orios hurried over to them.
"So, what happened?" He asked curiously.
"We dealt with it," Sirius said noticing a few students were trying to eavesdrop. He glared at them and they turned back to eating their dinner.
"The locket?" Orios said.
"No, we couldn’t find the locket, but we did find a horcrux. The gravestone of Tom Riddle Senior was destroyed accidentally by the death eaters. Now we only need to find two more." Lupin said.
"Two? The locket, what else?" Sirius said,
"A cup belonging to Helga Hufflepuff. When Riddle worked at Borgin and Burke's he laid his eyes on the goblet. The owner died at the hands of her house elf at the cup was nowhere to be found." Lupin told Sirius.
"What makes you think that Riddle had anything to do with it?" Sirius said.
"He regularly visited the owner and was the last to see her."
"Sounds like the dark lord did it. How about continuing this talk later, I'm starving." Sirius said going towards the table.

The all sat down and ate from the mountains of food. The turkey, chicken, beef were all being consumed as well as the many different vegetables. As Harry was piling some potatoes and carrots on his plate, Professor Orios stood up.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas day," At this Harry let out a small laugh. "In February, we will be welcoming someone back to Hogwarts. The person has been in St.Mungo's for a while so I would appreciate it if you made them feel welcome. They won't be here long, but they will be here on their favourite day, Enjoy your meals"

"Who do you think it is?" Harry asked Ron a few hours after the announcement.
"They are from St.Mungo's, so do you think it could be Neville's parents," Ron whispered.
"Um, maybe," Hermione said. "I thought it would be someone else."
"Who," Harry and Ron said at the same time.
"I'm probably wrong anyway. I'm tired now; I'm going to go to sleep. Good Night."
"Night Hermione," the boy's said.
As soon as she went out of the common room Harry looked at Ron.
"What was that about?" He said.
"I have no idea," Ron said. "She's nearly never wrong, but why didn’t she want to say?"
"Maybe she was told to keep it quiet."
"Or something's going on. But she does have a point; the food's made me sleepy, I think I might turn in. Good Night Harry," Ron said climbing up the staircase to the boy's dormitory.

Harry was left alone in the common room, with a few people younger than him. He began flicking through his animagi book that made it seem simple. After a while, he got bored and decided to go to bed.
It had been a tiring day but the journey was nearly over. Memories from the past would be coming, changing the world Harry lived in.

Chapter Eleven - The Betrayal.

"Did you see what happened at work, Lily?"
"No, Sirius, nothing bad I hope." A woman said.
"Fudge was walking through the office and was really angry, probably didn’t get the promotion he wanted. When he came to me he was about to explode, but a stag just happened to walk past. It distracted him as he went to chase it."
"A stag. James, did you know anything about this," Lily said sternly with a smile on her face.
"I’d like to sat I didn’t," James said.
"No you wouldn’t," Lily said butting in.
"Well, I just happened to stroll past-."
"In your animagi form?" Lily said trying to stop herself from laughing.
"You could say that," James said with a grin on his face.
"You know you could be arrested for that because it isn't legal. You don't even have a licence."

The three stopped for a moment and shuddered at the sound of being sent to Azkaban.

"Have you heard from Wormtail recently?" Sirius asked.
"Nope, he's been weird around us," Lily said,
"Don’t worry, I doubt he would do anything weird or dangerous," Sirius said.
"Unless we're doing it with him," James said as they all began laughing.

In the distance, a baby started crying. Lily jumped up and went to check on him.

"Look's like your joke woke Harry up, maybe he didn't find it funny." Sirius chuckled.


"Harry." A voice said.

The potions class was hot and stuffy, unlike January weather. Harry had just been day dreaming whilst the class was making a green potion. Professor McGonagall was stood in the doorway.
"Harry, McGonagall wants a word with you," Ron said.
Harry jumped and walked near her, trying to figure out what he had done wrong.
"Mr Potter, I heard you got a book teaching you how to be an animagi. Is this correct?" McGonagall said.
"Um, yeah, but how did you know?"
"Professor Orios told me to check a few presents that you received after the locket turned out to be a portkey." She said. "Would you like to have animagi lessons?"
From everything he expected her to say, this wasn't expected. "Yeah, sure. Thanks."
"Meet me in the room of requirement and 7pm. You may bring Ron and Hermione, no one else." She finished and hurried of.

Harry walked back into the class and told Ron and Hermione the news. They were all just as excited as he was and agreed to go to the Room of Requirement with him. When the potions class ended they went to the great hall for dinner.

"Do you think it'll be hard?" Ron said.
"Probably, will we use the book?" Harry said wondering whether or not McGonagall would need help from a book.
"We might do, I'm just so excited," Hermione said.
"We need to keep this quiet, or else everyone would want to do it." Harry told them.
"Why do you think she's giving us these lessons?" Ron said.
"She probably saw the book and thought we'd try it out anyway. At least this way she can keep an eye on us."

kool. mcgonagall will teach them :P

I wonder, hmm... I based Ron and Hermione's on their Patronuses, so would harry's be a stag.

just a small warning: I'm not sure what stag's bodily features are right so I apologise if anything is wrong. :boggy:

At exactly 7pm the group arrived into the room of requirement.
Inside were Professor McGonagall, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.
Harry, Ron and Hermione walked into the room and sat down on the cushions on the floor.
"Welcome, I hope you all are ready, because we're going to try the hard stuff straight away." McGonagall said.
"Professor, I brought the book, will it be any use?" Harry said.
"Of course, if I remember correctly, someone else used the book and it helped them become excellent animagi." She said looking at Sirius.
"First of all, you need to picture an animal in your head. Pick the animal in your patronuses. So that would be a stag for you," she told Harry.
"Stare at your hand for a while, and then imagine it the hand of a stag. Or maybe the leg of a stag, give it a go."

Harry stared at his hand, but then decided to change his leg instead. Focusing on his leg, he blinked and tried to see the leg of a stag. Nothing happened.
He was going to try again but Lupin stopped him.
"Harry, you remember how to create a patronus. Instead of picturing a happy thought in your head, try to think of the animal. The way it walks and looks. Go on, give it another go," Lupin said.

He stared at his leg and then blinked, picturing the stag in his head. When he opened his eyes he realised that his legs had changed. He had hoofs instead of feet.
"Whoa, how did that happen?" Harry said looking at his feet.
"Now it's the tricky bit, think of your own foot. Try to turn your feet back to usual." Sirius said.

Harry closed his eyes trying to think of how he looked before. When he opened his eyes, it all stayed the same.
"Why isn't it changing?" He said trying not to believe he was stuck with these hooves.
"Let's leave it at that for now," Professor McGonagall said with a smile on her face. "We'll make you back to normal in the next session." She looked at Sirius, nodded, and then walked out of the room leaving Harry without his feet.
"Finite Incantaum," Lupin said pointing his wand at Harry. His feet returned and the hooves disappeared. "Ron, Hermione, why don't you have a go?" Lupin said. "Try to think of an animal."

Minutes later, Hermione has changed her hands into tiny otter hands. It took Ron a little bit longer to change into a Jack Russell terrier but they all succeeded. At the end of the session, Lupin gave them a block of chocolate and left the room.
Just before Sirius left, he said, "Keep practising in here, we'll arrange the date of another lesson soon."

haha way kool. but wat does an otter look like? :S

And the action begins...again...
 

An hour later, they were sat in the common room talking about what they had done. They wanted to tell the other Gryffindors about it but it was supposed to stay a secret. The common room was full of people so it was important that they didn't speak aloud.
"I thought it would be much harder," Hermione said.
"Yeah, but Sirius managed to do it whilst he was at school. He was a few years below us when he did it properly," Harry said staring at his feet, wanted to change them.

After thirty minutes, it was time for them to go to bed. It had been a strange day but days stranger were yet to come.

The sun shone into the boy's dormitory as Ron was waking Harry up. Even though it was a Saturday, they still needed to wake up and practice their animagi skills.

Half an hour later, Ron managed to get Harry down into the great hall so they could have some breakfast. Just as Harry was about to take a bit out of a slice of toast, a snowy owl landed in front of him. Tied to its leg was a small note.

By The Lake, 10 Minutes.
Fide Orios.

At the staff table, the headmaster watched Harry read the letter. When he finished reading it, the head walked out of the door, presumably towards the lake.

Standing up, Harry showed Ron and Hermione the note and gave the toast to Hedwig. It nibbled the toast and then flew off in the direction of the owlery.

When they arrived at the lake, they saw the headmaster stood to the side. He looked at them and smiled and began walking towards them.
"Harry, Ron, Hermione, I have great news." He said. "We are certain that we have located the cup belonging to Helga Hufflepuff."
"How did you find it?" Harry asked.
"We have an informant within the high ranks of the death eaters. I trust him and believe that the cup is where he says it is."
"Who? You sent a spy in?" Harry asked.
"If I told you who then it would endanger his life and end the mission. All you need to know is that the cup is located somewhere you wouldn't expect it to be."
"Where?" Hermione said.
"You've heard of Godrics Hollow, haven't you?"
They all fell silent and looked at Harry. Godrics Hollow was the place where his parents were killed.
"How the heck did it get there?" Ron said.
"When the dark lord attempted to kill you, Harry, he was not alone. Someone was with him. Someone called Peter." He paused, waiting to see Harry's response. There was none. "Peter was given a task to hide something in Godrics Hollow, knowing that no one would ever expect something so dark to be hidden there."
"So the Hufflepuff cup is in Godrics Hollow?" Hermione said.
"Yes, it is. I wanted to ask you three something. Would you want to go to Godrics Hollow to retrieve the cup?"
"Yes," Harry said, regaining his ability to speak. "Do you think there is any danger going over there?"
"There might be a few death eaters hiding there, but it should be safe. I will accompany you with Remus and Sirius. Is there anyone else you would like to come?"
"No, thanks. Six people should be enough," Harry said. "We're going now, aren't we?"
"Yes, meet me in my office in ten minutes, we will go by fire.

This should have been up earlier, but I guess I never got round to it. Anyway, post coming up...

Soon after, the group found themselves in the headmaster's office waiting to go to Godrics Hollow. They were told what to do if they found the cup and were ready to go. Until Lupin spotted a problem.
"We're out of floo," Remus Lupin said.
"You've got to be kidding," Sirius said finding the situation amusing.
"Do I look like I'm joking, Sirius?" Lupin said with a small grin on his face. "Well, maybe I do, but I'm not. We need to get some floo. Harry, could you run down to Professor McGonagall's office and ask her if we can borrow some floo powder."
"Ok, I'll go now." Harry said rushing out of the office. He was going to start running but decided to save his energy for Godrics Hollow.

When he reached Professor McGonagall's office he knocked on the door and waited for her to let him in.
"Enter."
"Professor, I'm sorry to bother you but can we please borrow some floo powder?" Harry said.
"Borrow, you mean use. Of course you can, take some from the jar next to the fire," She said pointing at the fire. On the side was a small red jar filled with the powder. He saw an empty jar next to it and wondered whether or not he could use it.
Almost like she was reading his mind, she said, "Go ahead, you can take it. Tell the head master to bring it back later."
"Thanks," He said emptying the contents from the red jar.

With the jar in his hand, he went back to the headmaster's office. He entered the room and put the jar on the desk.
"Okay, you all know how to do it. Speak nice and clearly and it should work." Remus Lupin said.

Harry took a handful of the green powder and stepped into the fire.
"Godrics Hollow," He said swallowing some ash from the fire.
He began spinning faster and faster, gaining speed. He could hear voices but he knew that they were from the other fires. After a minute, he hit a hard, cold stone floor.
Being the first one to arrive, he looked around at his parent's house. There was a white marble fireplace with a photograph of Lily, James and Harry on the top.
The leather sofa's looked brand new and the wooden floor was covered with a beige rug.


"Peter, what did you say?" James asked eating a potato.
"I have a feeling I'm going to win the muggle lottery." Peter said.
"What makes you think that, have you fixed the results?" Lily said feeding Harry.
"Lily, I would never do such a thing," Peter said.
"Lily, it looks like Harry's ready to go to sleep," James said looking at the baby yawn.
"Ok, James." Lily said picking Harry up and taking him into his room.
"So Peter, did you fix the lottery?" James said.
"Why, do you think I would do such a thing?" Peter said with a slight grin on his face. "Well, maybe."
"I knew it," James said. "I've never seen you so confident in your life."
"Why," Lily said re-entering the room. "Harry fell asleep straight away, he must've been tired."

Keeping Harry as a stag would be mean. Keeping the whole group as animals would be meaner though. I'd never do such a thing yet.
Draco is hibernating now, he shall return to the world soon. Or later than soon.

A traitor in their midst.
 

Suddenly, they hear the door open.

"Peter, go check the door," James said taking his wand out of his pocket. "Lily, if I say the word, I want you to protect Harry."
"Ok James," Lily said looking worried.
"Peter, who is it?" James said about to check the door himself.

Two figures walked into the house. One was Peter Pettigrew. The other was like no other man on the world. He had a flat nose, with slits for eyes. He was quite a tall man dressed in dark robes, with a green medallion around his neck.

"Peter?" James said looking at the man.
"I'm sorry, but it had to be done," Peter said running past the door into the kitchen.
"Lily, take Harry and go! It’s him! Go! Run! I’ll hold him off," James shouted pulling his wand out. "Expelliarmous."
The man moved his wand to the side, sending the spell away. It hit a glass cabinet and shattered.
"Avada Kedavra," The snake like man said.
With a flash of green light, James fell to the floor.


"Harry," someone said.
Harry jumped up, pulling his wand out. Standing next to him were Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.
"What happened?" Sirius asked.
"I saw it, the night Peter turned them in. I was there."
"What," Lupin said turning pale.
"When Voldemort killed them."
"Did you see where he put the cup?" Professor Orios said.
"Erm, he ran to the kitchen."
"Perfect, that way it would blend in with the surroundings. C'mon, we need to get it!" Orios said.

They ran to the kitchen and searched all the cupboards. All cupboards were empty, except one. The group emptied it out and looked at the items. There was a cup with the emblem of Hufflepuff. Sure enough, they had found it!
"Yes," Lupin said. "That means we only need the locket."
He waved his wand and all the objects on the floor neatly placed themselves back into the cupboard.
"Can't you destroy it here?" Ron asked.
"No. Even though it contains the soul of the dark lord. It is the last remaining object belonging to Helga Hufflepuff. It is priceless and cannot be destroyed. We shall take it to Hogwarts and remove the horcrux another way." Lupin said.

They all surrounded the fire and stepped into it, one at a time saying, "Headmaster's office, Hogwarts."

They all returned to their offices and houses when Hermione broke the silence.
"This means we only have the locket to find, and then it's over."
"Even if you find the locket, the journey might be over. The battle, on the other hand, has just begun," said the portrait of the fat lady.

They all looked at her. How did she know what was happening?
"I'm not just painted on canvas; I know how to listen to you."
"Butober Pus," Harry said hoping the portrait would open if they said the password.
She swung open and let them in, making them wonder how much information she knew.

Chapter Twelve - Memories Healed, The Past Unforgotten.
 

January had finished and the weather of February had arrived. The sun had been replaced by thunder, and rain would continuously fall. Winds that could blow a person away were surrounding the Hogwarts grounds. However, inside the castle, the mood was totally different. The great hall had been filled with pink objects and banners. Little Cupid-like creatures would be seen running around, firing arrows at people. Rumours were spreading about who would come. Some said that the previous Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher would return, but some thought that the Weird Sisters were going to play music. Each rumour was well thought of and it was hard to tell which was a lie, and which the truth.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were sat in the Room of Requirement trying to improve their transformations. So far, Hermione had succeeded into turning herself into an otter and back again, even if the otter had some human characteristics. Harry managed to turn his lower body into that of a Stag's and began looking like a centaur. Ron was getting ahead of everyone by turning transforming his legs into the legs of a tiny terrier and changing them back again perfectly. Sirius and Remus would occasionally stop by and check on them, making sure they didn't do anything unusual.
The hardest part was keeping this a secret, which occasionally slipped out. Once the group had forgotten to make the room unplotable and a few third years walked in. Ron quickly changed back into his human self and blocked the door before anyone could see an Otter and human stag.

They had been practising for around one hour and were all quite hungry. They hadn't seen the new decorations that had been put in place and were in for a shock.

As they were walking into the hall, a creature dressed in red ran past them.
"What the hell?" Ron blurted staring at the creature and the hall's decorations.

A pink fountain was positioned in the middle of the hall with pink confetti around it. A banner was hung behind the staff table with a surprising name.
"Him," Harry said looking at the name.

'Welcome Back Gilderoy!'

"You've gotta be kidding me, it can't be." Ron said remembering what happened to Lockhart. "I guess he's got his memory back."
"I knew it," Hermione said. "A Valentines ball, him, it makes sense. It's perfect-."
"What?" Ron said cutting in.
"It makes perfect sense," Hermione said, finishing her sentence.
"Guys, I don't think we're supposed to come in here." Harry said looking at the door.
"Why," Ron said.

Harry pointed to a sign hung on the door which they walked past.

Do Not Enter the Great Hall.
Food will be available from your common rooms.
All will return to normal tomorrow.

Footsteps were coming from the corridor approaching the hall. They were trapped.

"What do we do, all the doors going out are locked. Would Apparating work?" Harry said.
"No, it wont work, haven't you read-."
"Hogwarts a history," Ron and Harry said.
"What about our animagus form?" Ron said feeling excited.
"That might work, c'mon. Give it a go," Harry said.

They all suddenly changed into their animagus forms successfully and slowly walked out of the hall. As they passed the door they saw a person. A first year student was trying to get a look inside the hall but jumped as soon as he saw a Stag, Otter and Dog walk out. They ran out of the main door into the grounds of the castle.

The sun was low in the sky as the moon glowed in the pink air around it. The three animals ran to an area where they couldn't been seen and tried to turn into their human selves. They was a problem, the transformation didn't work.

From inside a warm wooden cabin, two men were watching this.
"Do you think we should help 'em?" A deep voice said.
"Shouldn't we, it's a dangerous place out there," said a familiar voice.
"Okay, but let's play with them first."
The men let out a small laugh and opened the cabin door.

The two men walked up to the animals and stared at them. The animals stared back and looked like they were trying to communicate.
"I wunder where these came from," Rubeus said.
"I dunno, but Fang'll be hungry now. How about we give him these, which should fill him up." Another giant said.

The animals eyes widened and they began running around frantically. Ron had begun barking but stopped after realising it would make him more like an animal.

"What if these turn out to be animagus’s?" Hagrid said.
"Nah, else they'd 'ave transformed back or ran by now. These are what the man called lunch."
"I never got to know 'im properly. When I got there he was happy, a few days later he was killed by the new guy."
"Well, he was good," The giant said sadly. "Pity he went, they were getting more human as well. Anyway, let's not get this get in the way of Fang's lunch. Just in case it escapes," He said raising his wand.

The animals moved frantically, endlessly trying to communicate before they were dog lunch.

"Finite Incantaum," he said.

The animals suddenly changed into 3 human teenagers.

"Good job yeh haven't learnt the next spell. Else you'd be stuck like that forever," Hagrid said chuckling.
"Fang would 'ave liked you," Reid Quarterman said.
"How did you know?" Ron asked.
"We saw you walk out of the main doors. Didn't want you to get eaten, did we?" Professor Quarterman said.
"You better get inside before anyone sees you, it's late." Hagrid said escorting them back to the castle.

They walked into the castle and remembered why they had escaped in the first place.
"Lockhart," Harry muttered.
"I guess yeh heard. I thought you'd find out." Hagrid said. "You always do."
"What do you mean?" Professor Quarterman said.
"In their first year, they found the secretly hidden philosopher's stone. And they saved it from you-know-who."
"Really?"
"Didn't really save it, it got smashed." Harry said telling the whole story.
"You saved it from the Dark Lord, which is good enough." Quarterman said.

"Anyway, how come you two are such good friends?" Ron said.
"Ah, well. You could say we're cousins," Hagrid said.
"What? How?" Harry said.
"I'm Grawp's cousin, Hagrid's Grawp's brother. 1 + 2 = 3." He said.
"Whoa, when did you find out, Hagrid?" Ron asked.
"A few days ago. I was with Grawp in the forest and Reid walking into the area. He was surprised to see Grawp alive and told me he was his cousin."

"Right, we're at your common room now. Go on in, we have a lesson tomorrow and I want you guys to be prepared."
"Ok, Professor," Hermione said walking into the portrait hole.

*claps* Yay! They weren't some evil stalker men! :D That's cool that Hagrid has another brother. Post more soon!

Water Fights Rock So Much.
 

The three walked into the common room and sat near the fire. Opposite the fire was a table with lots of food.
"That's it." Ron said.
"What?" Hermione said watching Harry stand up to get some food.
"The Valentines ball thing. Do you want to go with me?" Ron said staring at the fire.
"Chicken or Lamb," Harry said putting some food on the plates for his friends.
At the same time, Ron said, "Chicken," and Hermione said," Lamb."
"Lamb," Ron said allowing Hermione to get her specified meat.
"Well, will you?" Ron said again.
"Yes, of course." She beamed. This time, unlike last time, she wasn't the last resort.

The next day, lessons were made shorter by one hour for people to prepare. A horse drawn carriage was said to arrive with the mysterious guest.

Hermione had disappeared after the DADA lesson and Harry and Ron were trying to find Ginny.

"C'mon, quick. Or she'll get someone else," Ron said walking into an empty classroom. "Nope."

They had been searching the castle trying to find Ginny. Harry wanted to ask her to go to the ball with him but they had no luck so far.

"Maybe she's in the quidditch pitch?" Ron said.
"Maybe," Harry said. He didn't think she would be there but he thought that he should check it. "We might as well check it," he said turning to face the castle doors.

In the distance, they could see a red haired person in Hagrid's hut. As they reached the wooden cabin, the door swung open and a red haired girl stepped out.
"Hey Ginny," Ron said. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing now, I was talking to Grawp earlier."
"Grawp?" Ron said looking at her. She was talking to a giant?
"Yeah, he's really good at English now."
"Ginny, have you heard about what's happening today," Harry said.
"No, I didn’t have any lessons today so I've been with Grawp. Why?" She said.
"There's a Valentines Ball today, will you go with me?" Harry said.
She looked at him for a moment and said, "Yeah, I will. When is it?"
"Seven. Lockhart's going to be there. He's the guest," Ron said.
Ginny gave a weak smile when she heard his name but those memories still haunted her.

Good post! I love how Ron asked Hermione to the Ball.

Okay, before you start, this aint one of my best posts. But I hope it's ok anyway.

Five minutes before the ball and the boys were walking down dressed in their given robes. Two robes appeared on each boy's bed and he was to choose which set he wanted to take. Harry had picked a dark green set of robes whilst Ron picked a black set. Neville was to go with Luna and had taken dark purple robes.
As they walked down the stairs, the sound of the other students was silent. Many of them were sat on the stairs, waiting for their dates to come out.
"How do I look," Ron said.
"Great, Ron. You look great," Neville said.
"Thanks Neville, so do you!" Ron said.
"When will they be coming out?" Neville said.
All Harry needed to do was point as the many doors opened releasing the girls. One at a time the girls found their dates. After a minute, a red haired woman dressed in a pink and a brown haired girl dressed in blue (stick to the books, film people!).
Ginny was dressed in a pink dress which looked nice with her hair. Hermione had made her hair become smooth, just like in the Yule ball, and she looked great.
"Wow," Ron said looking at her.
"Yeah, they all look good." Harry said looking at the girl behind Hermione. She had smooth blond hair that was shoulder length and straight. She had a dreamy look to her and looked like she was floating. She walked towards Neville and put her hand out. He took hold of it, and walked towards the dance floor, smiling.
"Harry," Ginny said. "Would you like to go over there," she said pointing to the drinks table.
"Um, sure." He said taking her hand.

Just as he took hold of a plate, the castle doors burst open. Three horses walked into the hall with a carriage on the rear. The man inside the carriage had wavy blond hair and a charming smile. He slowly opened the door and placed his feet firmly on the ground. He looked around the hall smiling, until he saw Harry and Ginny. He froze and stared at the girl who nearly died in front of him.

In the corner, a heavy guitar solo began playing. The Weird Sister's had arrived. Fireworks were launched and whizzed around the hall, blocking the bewitched sky, which had been made a special shade of pink.
"…and you gotta…"
"Whoa, that's loud." Harry said.
"Yeah, it is," Ginny said. In the distance, you could see Ron and Hermione stood near the drummer dancing. Neville and Luna were swaying to the heavy song, which was unusual. But then again, Luna didn't fit in with usual. Ginny was watching these two couples until Harry understood what she wanted to happen.
"Ginny, do you want to dance?" Harry said.
"Yes!" She exclaimed.

They walked onto the centre of the hall and began dancing to a slower song being played.

Just after they began dancing, Lockhart walked towards them and tried to get Harry’s attention. Ginny looked at him for a minute and saw him look horrified when he saw who she was.
“Ginny?” Lockhart said.
”What do you want?” She said looking at the man who was going to leave her dead.
“I’d like to apologise for everything that happened. It was my fault and I take the whole responsibility for what happened.”
Harry stared at him as he apologised. An idea came to his mind. “And the lies, have you said that you didn’t do what you wrote in your books?

Lockhart looked at Harry for a minute. “I’ve never told any lies, you foolish child,” he blurted and walked away.

“I think it’s time to go back to the common room,” Ginny said as she saw Lockhart storm off towards the buffet table.
“Yeah.”

that was not a bad post ali. i liked it. and i hate lockhart. useless git.
