It wasn’t like they weren’t sitting around doing nothing with their time normally, and it kept THIS from happening.
As for the talk of her diet, he had no problem letting her have her freedom of food choice. She was a beautiful woman whom he was happy to have as a wife. Gavin didn’t think Tasha needed the four-letter word but he didn’t have to be a former Ravenclaw to know he shouldn’t fight her on it. But simply compliment and make her well aware of her beauty. Such a beauty. He was drawn back to present as she commented on seating, his blue eyes following her own gaze to the aforementioned spot by the window as she took his hand in hers. “Sounds good,” he replied with a smile, leading them both over in the right direction before taking out her chair. Tasha being so excited she walked quickly over to the table that she had pointed out. Sitting down she picked up the drink list, she was dying to have a real pop or soda, what ever anyone called these drinks. The one with all the bubbles. "if the waiter comes around, grab me a coke a cola thing hun" she said... she actually wished it could come sooner but what was she going to do, mostly muggles in here.
Picking up the menu that was already on the table she looked up at her Husband. "what do you think your going to have?" there were way to many options right now, and they all looked so very yummy. For sure diet was going on hold, Tasha was happy that she was wearing nice but comfortable clothes.

| Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once... Milo did not usually come out this way on a weekend... or anything day of the week, for that matter. It was out of his way when he was coming to work, but he heard among the chatter at the Ministry that this restaurant had mighty good Vegan options. He had told Daisy that he would be here around noon for lunch, so he was hoping she would show up...
.... and he may have told his younger brother as well. What? Could you blame a guy for wanting to have dinner with his girlfriend and best little brother EVER? No, you couldn't.
He marched right on into the restaurant when he arrived, sat down at a table near the window, and began looking over the menu.

The man keeping an eye out for said waiter while letting his own gaze fall over the various menus offered to them. A cranberry soda would do for himself he thought, his attention then moving onto the entrees and specials of the day. The charms professor was mulling over the choices he had narrowed it down to when the waiter appeared, the order for drinks then submitted before Tasha spoke in question to break her own silence once he was gone. “Well I was between the Bavette D’Aloyau…and the Escalopes De Veau,” he answered as he looked back up at his wife. The beef or the veal as options for dinner, always preferring to order something that wasn’t a normal entrée when he was out. Not that anything on the French style restaurant’s menu was something Gavin was all too familiar with. “What about you?”

Tasha felt like she was going to burst at the seems with happiness. Giggling like a school girl "I was thinking the Bavette D'Aloyau actually" it sounded quite yummy. Reading the description only made her decision stronger. "yes i think thats what i'll have" it wasnt the diet crashing meal she was hoping for but theres no greasy burger where they were eating and the meal did sound delicious. "do you think shes okay?" the change of conversation was only a worried mothers mind wondering. "she'd send an owl if anything were wrong wouldnt she?" surely Tasha taught her better than not to say anything but, she remembered when she was in school, things were always happening.

"I just wish we knew something." The MLE didn't have any answers and they were supposed to be the experts. He wanted to have faith that they would have some leads but it was tough to keep that up when there only seemed to be dead ends. And trying to work while he was so distracted was difficult in itself. He was lucky he hadn't lost his job and he definitely couldn't afford that. "Luckily I haven't had any spilled potions or work-related mishaps." He tried to joke some to lighten the mood a little. Yes, it was a difficult thing that was happening with his family, but he wouldn't want a coworker to have to shoulder that burden.
Talk about quick service.. Oliver looked up when the food arrived. "I'm certainly not complaining," he smiled. "Looks great." And he was fairly hungry too. He nodded his thanks to the server and dug right in. This was a good choice for lunch today. Mmmm delicious!! Sam sat quietly, cutting up her food. Bite. Sip. Bite. Bite. Sip.
She wasn't sure what to say... She decided that if he wanted to continue talking about his sister with her, he knew she was there for him. For now however, she wanted to try to take his mind off of it. Would it work? She doubted it, but she could always hope to brighten his day. "Are you going to Orientation?" she asked. It was coming up again already, and now they weren't the newbies at the Ministry. It seemed like a quick eternity... if that made sense. "I can't believe it's already time for that again," she commented, taking a bite of her pasta. "We might have to train people now." |

He marched right on into the restaurant when he arrived, sat down at a table near the window, and began looking over the menu. It was amazing to think that Daisy hadn't stepped inside this place once since she had joined the Ministry. Generally she ended up eating inside the cafeteria, doing so with Milo ever since he had come to work there as well. Obviously. The chance to eat with him at a restaurant was way too wonderful to give up even though they had date nights and those would never stop.
There he was sitting by the window and looking at the menu. Daisy smiled at her handsome boyfriend. She loved him so much. "Hey there," she said as she joined him, kissing his cheek before looking at her own menu. Were there vegan options? Because otherwise she wasn't sure how well this would go for him. Not being a vegan made her life easier when it came to getting food. Daisy just had whatever tasted good and didn't have a lot of fat or calories. Living simple seemed to work well for her so she had no desire to stop. |

| A Poop * k8 * Persy Rodrigo was here to have lunch with an old...friend was too strong a word, but someone she knew. Pffft. Willie. They had many differences of thought, but Persy didn't care. This was what she did; she ran things. Events, coordinated campaigns. She'd helped Roxanne Carter last time. It wasn't like she had promised to help her this time or anything, so she didn't really feel badly for helping Willie out this time.
While she was in England, she really should see her family. But with the divorce....she'd not been spending too much time here in England. Her father's family in Spain was much more understanding about everything anyways. And her mother was in Spain with her father, so.
She sighed as she waited for Willie to arrive.

She greeted, her voice soft, yet firm. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting long. Scooter had an accident on the front porch." The heavily tattooed woman took a seat across her partner, patting her thighs as a welcome to her crup, which so eagerly jumped up on her lap. "What do we have for today?"

"Well, of course, that's why we were late, lass." The thirty year old waved down a waiter asking him if it was okay to have her little Scooter here (he said of course) and for a tall glass of ice cold orange juice.
Sipping her orange juice, she looked off at the Ministry building nearby, yet listened to Persy avidly. She set down her glass at the last sentence spoken, raising an eyebrow. "It's not an image. I am just like you."

If you don't want to discuss that--it's fine. We should discuss posters...and other things like that. What kind of public works you might want to do...you've got a lot to choose from...." She said as she looked over Willie's resume once more. "You could hold a family bonding...event. Or maybe stage a benefit for a scholarship for a muggleborn kid." Bleh. "Something to make you look good. But also something you really wanna' do so that you don't look fake..." All of this should be obvious, but Persy just wasn't sure.

"What about you?" She suddenly asked, sipping her orange juice. "What do you want from a candidate?" Willie leaned forward to glance at Persy's notes. "Someone fake? Because I don't. I rather lose than be another one of those."

Keep that thing on the ground! Was Persy's personal opinion. And she actually laughed a little. "No, no. I want a candidate who I feel will benefit me the most. But most people want someone who'll be good for the whole, depending on your...political associations," she shrugged. "I might vote for you since you're my...employer," she smirked. "But you really do have some good ideas." She let her eyes wonder over Willie's tidbits once more.
But she sighed. "Okay, well, we don't have to make you fake. You'll just be yourself. But...you have to play up your...'be yourself' thing." She didn't know what else to say to the woman. "Anyways. What are some events and some money raising things you'd like to do?"

After inviting the young man to speak with him, Kieran decided to have their meeting at a nearby restaurant. Why not get something to eat while they talked a little business? He certainly didn't mind that extra expense when trying to obtain new talent. Plus he was hungry. Opening up a menu, he looked over the selections as he waited for one Bart Culloden.

Bart fully was on time, yep, he wasn't going to be late for this. After speaking with a few other teams and even his father-in-law on a few things he was pretty excited to sit down with Kieran. He had heard good things about the team from his mother. Of course she had been sending him stats and over all her opinions in the last month. It was quite sweet to be honest. She was always working so hard for him and he always knew it even if he didn't show it.
Entering the restaurant he looked around and soon saw the man he was meeting. Maybe he'd head to the ministry after he was done. See Mariel and his mom before heading to find his dad and seeing if he needed help with any election things. He'd be headed back to Australia soon, but figured he could do some things while he was here. "Hello, Mr. Kavanaugh, Bart Culloden" He placed his hand out to shake the mans hand.

"Please, call me Kieran and have a seat." He smiled at Bart and gestured to the seat across from him before sitting back down in his own seat. "Thank you for meeting me today, Bart," he said with a smile and gestured towards the menu on the table. "Feel free to order anything you like." It was on him, of course, and he liked his prospective talent to feel welcome and at ease as they talked. "So, I've heard a lot of good things about you and your experiences with the Warriors. Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself and why you might want to play for the Kestrels." Of course, he could tell him what he'd offer him, but he'd like to get to know him a little first and hear his thoughts too.

It was on him, of course, and he liked his prospective talent to feel welcome and at ease as they talked. "So, I've heard a lot of good things about you and your experiences with the Warriors. Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself and why you might want to play for the Kestrels." Of course, he could tell him what he'd offer him, but he'd like to get to know him a little first and hear his thoughts too. Kieran, alright that was something he'd make a mental note about. He picked up the menu and glanced at it. He wasn't sure how many people truly realized his step mother was Rebecca Maroon and one of the reasons he had changed his name to Culloden. "I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule."
He'd probably just get some pasta. Figuring that out he closed his menu and looked towards the manager. "Hearing good things is something I always want to hear." There were probably many bad things to go with the good. "Well I started playing quidditch pretty young. My mother is the Division Manager at the Ministry so the sport runs in the family. I played on the U17 league before going to the Australian Quidditch Academy." Taking a sip of his water he tried to get his thoughts in order. "I've been playing for the Warriors since graduating and have been a starter for a year and a half now." He wasn't sure exactly what he wanted, but he figured he'd say it all. "My wife and I are planning on moving back to be closer to family and I knew your team had a great reputation and your stats are very positive. I do have a few other interviews set up, but I wanted to speak with you first. My father in law speaks very highly of you."

I'm sure you are meeting with a few teams," he chuckled. That was how it often went. They got wind of new or interested talent and several of the teams got into negotiations. Or at least the ones that had openings.
Deciding on the fish and chips, he set his menu aside and focused on the young man in front of him. "Ah, Victoria Culloden is your mother. I wondered with the name if there was any relation." He'd have to have a word with his scout though for not delving into the boy's background a little deeper so he'd appear more informed. "Very nice lady, good at her job too." He thought Victoria to be a very efficient and effective leader, and was always happy to work with her. Though it made him wonder if he was also had any association to one Rebecca Maroon. Probably best not to bring that up either way.
He knew he had been playing for the Warriors and Kieran nodded as Bart provided that information. "I have your records from your time with the team. You appear to be a very solid beater with an impressive background." He also went to a Quidditch Academy, though not the one in Australia, and he knew that it took someone with real dedication to the sport to go to a specialized school like that. "Unfortunately, my scout never made it to any of the Australian games to see you in action."
Wanted to speak with him first? He wondered why, if there was a reason other than their stats. "Father-in law? Someone I know then?" Really, David needed to have better prepared him with more of the personal information so he didn't look dumb here.

Really, David needed to have better prepared him with more of the personal information so he didn't look dumb here. Bart was glad when the man didn't seem to know his background. He didn't need to know about his step monster being Rebecca and his association with the Catapults. Though not a bad team and he did like the players, he just didn't want to be associated with the former manager. He was nothing like her and would never be like her. "Yes, she is my mother. She has been very supportive through my quidditch upbringing. Her job at the ministry in the quidditch department had helped as well." Not meaning it gave him an in, but kept him motivated to want to play. "Once Hogwarts took Quidditch away I played on the U17 league, but needed more if I wanted to continue my career. Since we were originally from Australia and I grew up a Warriors fan I wanted to go back Which is what got me to the academy in the first place." A dream come true to get to play for his childhood team.
He had his records, so maybe he already knew that Rebecca was his step mother, no matter he wasn't bringing it up so unless the manager did he was keeping quiet. "I sustained a head injury that kept me out for most of last season, but I'm back with a clean bill of health and was able to play at the very end." Just unconscious for a week, no big deal. "I can always do a practice for you to see my play a bit if you would like. I am not apposed to a tryout of any sort, but I think you would be missing out not to take me on." Bart was cocky he knew, but he knew he had game too. "Cameron Bayless he just took owner ship of the Tornadoes." He figured he would know once he said. Surprised he didn't read his name in WHIM with the Bayless article a few months back. What did it say? Oh yes ran away with his daughter because she was knocked up. If they only knew he couldn't even have children. Gossip you just had to love it.

If they only knew he couldn't even have children. Gossip you just had to love it. Kieran sipped his water, his eyes glancing at the file in front of him before looking back at Bart. He thought Victoria was a fine Quidditch manager for the Ministry and it wouldn't surprise him that a child of hers would be playing professional Quidditch. She also likely taught him a good work ethic and the ins and outs of the game. "The loss of Quidditch at Hogwarts really has been unfortunate," he nodded. "Of course, I was very Quidditch-driven in my youth as well. I went to Luxembourg Quidditch Academy in my fourth year, then was signed onto the Kestrels right after school. This will be my 25th season with the team." Yeah, he knew he was old. But his long time devotion to the Kestrels did make him very selective with who he wanted on the team. And he thought that Bart would be a good fit.
But he was glad to know a little more about the young man, and to hear it from his own mouth. Kieran nodded as he said about his head injury. "Mhm, yes, that was in the notes my scout gave me. Good to know you were able to bounce back." Quidditch injuries were just a routine part of the game, but it was telling who was resilient and who was not. "Oh," he chuckled, "I don't think a tryout will be necessary. Your record does speak for itself." Though it probably would be nice to see how he would fit with the team. It was just too bad that it was the off season so it was a little more difficult to get them together to play. "Oh, right, okay, yeah.." Kieran nodded as he mentioned Cameron was his father-in-law. Well, he felt slightly embarrassed for not having realized that, but he and Bayless weren't that close for him to have recognized the name. "Good guy, he is.." He was about to say more, perhaps make him an offer, when he noticed the server approaching out of the corner of his eye. "Do you know what you want?"

I was 12 when they got rid of it and I'm not 20." That was a long time not to have the sport at school. It was sad for the children there to be honest and he was grateful his mother now had tryouts and camps to help get talent out there for scouts to see. "It really hurt the games and sports department. My mother has had to add in things to make scouts happy and to try and make sure anyone interested got the best opportunities." She was great like that. He had always looked up to her even he hadn't mentioned it much.
Wow 25 years was a long time. He just nodded to his conversation as he tried to wrap his brain around 25 year. He didn't even look that old. "They got me to the hospital right away and I had the best healers. That's why I recovered like I did. They knew what to do quickly." Some healers might have blown it off, but not hers. This healer was beyond great. He wasn't going to have to tryout, yes he did like that idea.
Looking at the server he gave a grin, "A water and the steak well done." He said anything so Bart was taking advantage. "He is, I've been with his daughter since we were 14. he wasn't to thrilled with me through Hogwarts, but I've grown on him." He joked trying to lighten the mood a bit, but really Cam would never say a bad word about his son in law now.

He joked trying to lighten the mood a bit, but really Cam would never say a bad word about his son in law now. Kieran nodded lightly as his mind wandered a bit. Eight years, yes that sounded about right. And far too long in his opinion. "I hope they're doing something about reinstating it. It's such a detriment to today's youth as well as the professional teams." Sure the Ministry and the team scouts were doing their best to create opportunity, but it really did hurt the professional league. And it was long overdue for them to reinstate it back at the school. Or else there would be a lot of wasted talent. "Yes, your mother really does work hard to make that happen. I really appreciate all that she and Ms. De La Garza has done to make it a little easier for us." He figured it had to have doubled their work load. "Yep, signed with the Kestrels when I was 17," he continued. "And I was one of their starting chasers for 18 years." Maybe Bart didn't care, but he was rather proud of his illustrious career. "And then this will be my seventh year as team manager since retiring from playing." He hated to admit that he was too old to play, but it was a younger player's turn. And he felt he did rather well with turning the team around. "Well, that's great. It's important to have good, competent healers on the team." Quidditch was full of personal injury, it only made good sense. And he made sure to have a good sports healer for the Kestrels too.
Once Bart ordered the steak, Kieran placed his own order of fish and chips, though he had to admit that the steak sounded good to him as well. "Ah, that is rather young, but good for you," he said with a smile. It wasn't his place to judge, not that he was, though he supposed he'd consider himself a lifelong bachelor at this point. "Well," he said as he pulled his paperwork closer to himself again and flipped through it. "I think it's safe to say I can offer you a deal to play with the Kestrels."

"Well," he said as he pulled his paperwork closer to himself again and flipped through it. "I think it's safe to say I can offer you a deal to play with the Kestrels." He nodded at everything the man was saying, "I know it was on my mother's list when she was running for minister a few years ago and it will probably be on my father's if he is elected." Why yes he did just plug his father into this meeting. He would always be a walking advertisement for his Cossy. "Mariel and my mother as well as the rest of level seven work really hard at keeping up with the young talent, but I wish the board of governors or the minister would finally step in and fix the probably with it not being at the school. " It was just a shame.
Wow that was impressive. Being with the same team your entire career. Was that even normal? Bart had no words, but just admiration for someone to be that loyal to one place. He felt like he'd leave anywhere for the right price. " I see why they trust your judgement so much. It had been a childhood dream of mine to be on the Warriors, one I thought would never happen once my mother had divorced my real father and moved us from Australia to here, but I was able to go back and play for them." Which was why he went to the academy in Australia to begin with. Yes he was very thankful for the fast action healers that got him to the hospital and taken care of quickly. "Yes it was and we had our share of breakups as we got older, but we always ended back to each other. She is one of a kind and about the only woman that could really handle me." He couldn't help but laugh as he said this. Cinna truly was the only girl that could ever put up with him. "We are going to be starting a family, through adoption." He figured it was okay to say something about that. It was only in the thinking stage really. Could be years before they actually started one. He was offering him a job right like that. Bart leaned back in his chair and thought a moment. No point in being all jumpy and needy. "I'd like to see the contract and figures before I agree to anything."
Yep, playing it cool.

Shortly after the restaurant opened, he nervously made his way to it with Addison. "Have a seat, Addi.'' Connor held the chair for her. Yes, he may have been a Slytherin and quite a rude person years ago but his wife had made him somewhat into a Hufflepuff. Chivalry and what not. When she was seated, he asked, "What was it that you needed to tell me?''
With bated breath he waited. When Addison had said she had something to tell her husband she hadn't been lying. It was something alright. Something big. Something both exciting and scary at the same time. Connor had only been back a few months, they were all still getting adjusted to his return and she prayed that her news would be well received by him.
The blonde knew she would be telling him soon and she hadn't expected anything less then going to lunch so they could talk. Having had brought it up slightly earlier that day she knew her husband wouldn't be himself until he knew. So lunch together was it. A small smile tugged at her lips as she slipped into the seat that was pulled out for her. "Thank you my softhearted former Slytherin," she teased softly as she waited for him to sit across from her.
The thought of ordering their meal and starting to eat before she told him the news was lost the second Connor sat down. He was wasting no time in getting right to the point. Clearly he had to know. Addi smiled lightly her blue eyes lifting to meet his own as she reached to take hold of his hand. Lacing her fingers between his she felt years younger remembering the first and only time they had this conversation. It seemed so long ago and it was. Ten almost eleven years ago already. "Connor... I'm pregnant. We're going to have a baby." Calm voice. Nothing more then a hint of nervousness in her eyes.
Connor would take this well. Her husband loved kids and they had always wanted more then just one. Now they would. Koen would have a sibling.
