Though not a bad team and he did like the players, he just didn't want to be associated with the former manager. He was nothing like her and would never be like her. "Yes, she is my mother. She has been very supportive through my quidditch upbringing. Her job at the ministry in the quidditch department had helped as well." Not meaning it gave him an in, but kept him motivated to want to play. "Once Hogwarts took Quidditch away I played on the U17 league, but needed more if I wanted to continue my career. Since we were originally from Australia and I grew up a Warriors fan I wanted to go back Which is what got me to the academy in the first place." A dream come true to get to play for his childhood team.
He had his records, so maybe he already knew that Rebecca was his step mother, no matter he wasn't bringing it up so unless the manager did he was keeping quiet. "I sustained a head injury that kept me out for most of last season, but I'm back with a clean bill of health and was able to play at the very end." Just unconscious for a week, no big deal. "I can always do a practice for you to see my play a bit if you would like. I am not apposed to a tryout of any sort, but I think you would be missing out not to take me on." Bart was cocky he knew, but he knew he had game too. "Cameron Bayless he just took owner ship of the Tornadoes." He figured he would know once he said. Surprised he didn't read his name in WHIM with the Bayless article a few months back. What did it say? Oh yes ran away with his daughter because she was knocked up. If they only knew he couldn't even have children. Gossip you just had to love it. Kieran sipped his water, his eyes glancing at the file in front of him before looking back at Bart. He thought Victoria was a fine Quidditch manager for the Ministry and it wouldn't surprise him that a child of hers would be playing professional Quidditch. She also likely taught him a good work ethic and the ins and outs of the game. "The loss of Quidditch at Hogwarts really has been unfortunate," he nodded. "Of course, I was very Quidditch-driven in my youth as well. I went to Luxembourg Quidditch Academy in my fourth year, then was signed onto the Kestrels right after school. This will be my 25th season with the team." Yeah, he knew he was old. But his long time devotion to the Kestrels did make him very selective with who he wanted on the team. And he thought that Bart would be a good fit.
But he was glad to know a little more about the young man, and to hear it from his own mouth. Kieran nodded as he said about his head injury. "Mhm, yes, that was in the notes my scout gave me. Good to know you were able to bounce back." Quidditch injuries were just a routine part of the game, but it was telling who was resilient and who was not. "Oh," he chuckled, "I don't think a tryout will be necessary. Your record does speak for itself." Though it probably would be nice to see how he would fit with the team. It was just too bad that it was the off season so it was a little more difficult to get them together to play. "Oh, right, okay, yeah.." Kieran nodded as he mentioned Cameron was his father-in-law. Well, he felt slightly embarrassed for not having realized that, but he and Bayless weren't that close for him to have recognized the name. "Good guy, he is.." He was about to say more, perhaps make him an offer, when he noticed the server approaching out of the corner of his eye. "Do you know what you want?"
