Ferris frowned slightly as she asked about Fluffy, and if he thought that the vet had sent anything back yet. He looked at her with a sympathetic smile, honestly rather skeptical that this could be the case, but he didn't want to put her down. So he said, "I don't know Vi, maybe," and gave her a reassuring smile just as they reached the hotel. He opened the lobby doors for the both of them, leading her across the marbled floors of the hotel over to the elevator. He pressed the button quickly, stepping into the elevator with the girl and pressing the button for the fifth floor. |
Vianna nodded her head slightly at Ferris's response, following the boy's lead into the hotel, through the lobby, and to the elevator. She waited patiently but somewhat anxiously until they reached their floor, the doors to the elevator opening to allow them into the hall. Once there, Vianna pulled out the keys to her room and opened the door. "I'm going to go change," she said before heading over to her bedroom and replacing her damp clothes tainted with grass and dirt stains for a new, dry set. |
Ferris nodded as Vianna told him she was going to change, releasing her so she could go into her room. He then made his way to the next door, opening it with his own key which he took from his jeans pocket. He walked in, setting the bag of marshmallows down on the kitchen counter before heading into his bedroom. He changed out of his slightly damp clothes, exchanging them for a soft v-neck tshirt and a new pair of jeans. He then walked over to Vince's room through the connecting tunnel, and knocking on the closed door. |
Once changed, Vianna headed back to the living room, taking a glass of water and drinking it quickly as she was thirstier than she originally thought, before then heading over to her brother's room to announce her return. Vince was caught off-gaurd as he now found himself having to answer to two doors on different ends of the room. He headed over to Vianna's and opened it quickly, not giving the girl a chance to speak before then heading over to the opposite door and opening it only to find Ferris on the other side. "What?" |
Ferris gave Vince a polite smile as he opened the door, about to ask something when he caught sight of Vianna across the room. "Uh..." he trailed off, as he hadn't expected Vianna to be in the same room. Deciding it didn't matter, as the question wasn't anything he didn't want her to hear, he continued, "I was just wondering if the vet called at all today? You know..about Fluffy?" he asked him. |
Vince's brows furrowed at the question. He had completely forgotten all about Fluffy and his room key and the vet. "Vet?" he repeated, raising a dark eyebrow. But then the night's events slowly started returning to mind. "Oh, right... no, haven't heard from any vets today," he said shaking his head slightly. "But that means the ra-- squirrel's going to make it, then, right? Does that mean I can finally get a new key?" he asked hopefully as neither Ferris or Vianna had answered his request for one the night before when they were too busy worrying about the squirrel. |
Ferris gave a grim nod as Vince told him he hadn't heard from any vets that day, as this was what he had expected. The doctor told them two to three days, but still...he knew it would've made Vianna happy to have her squirrel back sooner. He looked up from his reverie as Vince asked if he could finally get another room key, "Huh?" he said, raising his eyebrows as he had nearly forgotten the whole reason Fluffy was sick. "Oh, right, yeah, of course. I'll get you another one now." He then turned away, and headed out of the room, feeling the need for a little walk. |
Vince grinned as Ferris agreed to getting him another key and turned from the door, only to find his sister had taken over his living room and was now sitting on the couch watching the flames flickering in the fireplace. With the slightest hint of guilt taking over his features, the boy proceeded to sit down beside her and the two of them watched the flames with equally crystal blue eyes, both silent as Vianna submerged in memories of her squirrel and Vince dreamed of getting his new key so he could leave the hotel and wander outside already. |
Ferris returned to his room about fifteen minutes later, having gone on a little self-tour of the hotel just for the sake of walking alone for a bit. But he also went to the front desk, got the key, and eventually returned to the hotel room. He went into Vince's room from his own, only to see the two siblings staring at the fire with the same amount of silent interest evident in their blue eyes. His eyebrows rose for a moment before he said, "Vince, here's your new key. Try to be careful with this one, would you? We don't want all the woodland creatures barfing up keychains." |
Vince and Vianna looked up in unison as Ferris returned to the room with the new key. "Ha, very funny, Ferris Wheel," said Vince, jumping up to his feet and taking the new key with a sparkle in his eyes, as if he was being handed a pot of gold instead. But this key signified his freedom and it meant he no longer had to be enslaved to spend his days locked up in his room (though this had only lasted the night before and a few hours of the current day). "I'll see you two later," he said with a grin, not delaying his departure from the room for another minute before disappearing past the front door. Vianna watched him go with mild amusement, muttering a "be careful" to the boy. |
Ferris gave Vince a departing smile before watching him leave, shaking his head with slight amusement in his eyes. He then turned to see Vianna still sitting on the couch, and his smile widened. He walked up behind the couch, leaning over the back of it in order to slide his hands down the girl's arms and find her hands, intwinging their fingers. "How's my gem?" he asked her, resting his head next to hers as he leaned over the back of the couch. |
Vianna looked down at her hands as they were now accompanied by Ferris's own before looking up at the boy's face beside hers and giving him a smile. "I'm fine," she replied, not wanting to admit that her head was now filled with thoughts of her beloved squirrel and how much she had come to miss the small creature's presence in such a short amount of time. "Did you take the medicine?" she asked him. |
Ferris gave a brief nod as she told him she was fine, not quite believing her only because she was so thoughtful, gazing into the fire with her brother before. But all thoughts of weaseling the truth out of her left his mind as she asked if he had taken his medicine. "Shoot!" he growled, shaking his head and releasing her hands as he marched back to his room, slightly annoyed that he had forgot once again. He returned a couple minutes later, grim amusement on his face as he took a seat next to her on the couch, "Alright, I took it." |
Vianna welcomed Ferris back to the room with raised eyebrows. "Professor, I can't believe you honestly forgot again!" she said with a laugh. Normally she would have scolded him for being so forgetful with something so important, but she couldn't help finding his forgetfulness rather amusing at the moment. "Now not only do you have the back of an eighty-year-old but the memory of one too!" she teased, her laughter turning to giggles. |
Ferris glared playfully at the girl as she expressed her disbelief that he had forgotten to take his medicine once again, but it was true. It was a little....surprising that he could forget something so fast. He could only scowl slightly as she mentioned that he not only had the back of an eighty year old, but the memory of one too, "Shut up," he murmured for lack of a better comeback, pushing her shoulder playfully with his, a small amused pout on his face. |
"What're you going to forget next, Professor? Your own name?" she continued teasing between giggles. But she couldn't help it, she had always been one to tease. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" she quickly added, waving her hands slightly. She was slightly reminded of their first visit to the doctor when she told Ferris the damage to his back had been permanent and there was nothing that could be done. She laughed lightly and took a deep breath, slowly calming herself through the amusement still sparkled in her mischievous eyes. |
Ferris pursed his lips as the girl continued to tease him about forgetting his own name, telling him she was kidding, but there was still a spark of amusement behind his features. He finally just knocked her over, back onto the squishy cushions of the couch, and laid down on top of her, his back to her. He crossed his arms over his chest and gazed into the fire with a slightly triumphant look on his face, as though nothing had just happened. |
Just when Vianna had begun to calm, she found herself falling back onto the cushions of the couch by a vengeful Ferris who now laid down with his back to her. "Professor!" Vianna let out between laughs. "Are you trying to kill me?!" she accused, pushing the boy as best she could, though failing miserably as he was a good deal heavier than her. |
A grin spread across the boy's face at her words, letting out a soft chuckle though he made no response other than, "Oh? What was that? Was someone's pesky little bully of a girlfriend talking?" he asked himself, putting a thoughtful face on as one of his fingers came up to rest on his chin, as though thinking. "Nope...Nope, can't be. It's definitely not my girlfriend," he teased her. |
Vianna's jaw dropped and she gave Ferris an accusatory look as the boy teased her by talking to himself; though of course, he couldn't see any of the playful glares she shoot in his direction. "Alright, fine!" she finally said after moments of trying to push the heavy boy off and finally learning it wasn't going to lead her anywhere. "I won't tease you anymore, just stop crushing me-- please?" |
Ferris let out another light laugh as the girl finally gave in, telling him she wouln't tease him anymore, but asking that he not crush her anymore. He stood up, only to lay back down again, this time facing the girl and not completely on top of her, rather lying next to her half on top of her. "Y'know, you're pretty cute when you're giving in to my obnoxious ways," he told her with a cheeky grin before placing a kiss on her lips. |
Vianna narrowed her eyes at the boy now facing her as he complimented the way she gave in to his ways before awarding her with a kiss. Unwillingly, the young girl kissed him back; she felt too proud to be returning his kisses, but when his lips met hers it was hard to deny him. "Yeah, simply adorable," she said with bitter sarcasm after pulling away. But it wasn't long until a smile lit up her features once again as she always found it impossible to stay mad at him for any longer than a second. "It's still not very nice to crush your girlfriend, though, y'know." |
Ferris was a little hesitant towards her as she gave him a sarcastic comment, worried she might actually be upset with him, when she let out one of her smiles. He smiled in turn, glad to see that she wasn't angry with him, and his eyebrows rose as she told him it still wasn't very nice to crush his girlfriend. "Well, it's not very nice to tease your 'eighty year old' boyfriend, either," he told her, that amused smile still on his face. But one of his hands made it to her waist, stroking the side of it gently, "Are you alright though?" he asked, hoping he hadn't actually hurt the girl. |
Vianna gasped, raising her eyebrows slightly at Ferris's retort before laughing lightly. She watched him for a moment before he then asked if she was alright. "I'll live," replied Vianna with a nod. "Though I think another minute like that and I might've had to borrow your back medicine," she added with a chuckle. |
Ferris smiled, glad to hear that the girl in front of him would live despite his weight on top of her for that whole minute. But when she mentioned that if it had gone a minute more, she would need his back medicine, he couldn't help but let out a laugh. "Well, I'm glad I got off then," he said, amusement in his brown eyes. His laughter slowly died down and he watched her for a moment, "I'm sorry," he told her, smile still on his face. He was about to lean in and kiss her once more, but stopped himself, knowing he was getting all too greedy with these kisses and was sure it was making the girl impatient with him. (ooc: because that's completely logical. lol.) So he stopped himself a few inches from her mouth, pulling back as though training himself. |
