Minerva smiled, "That was such a horrible night, but of all people that would come find me kicking the wall it was you. That was the first night I called you my knight." She thought about it for a bit, "The first time I started thinking of us differently was right after you and Taylor. I had taken hold of your hand to fix it and got really nervous and couldn't figure out why." She was tracing the out line of his arm with her hand and sighed feeling content. "I was so fearful that this would be a repeat of Damon. That you wouldn't be able to get over Taylor." She looked into his eyes, "I have no worries of that now."

Maxwell smiled. "It was the first time i fought for you...I know it was hard for you...but if it makes you feel any better, i sat up all night thinking about you. I wold have snuck into your common room just to check on you if i knew how.." He said with a smirk full of mischief. "I remember you seeming nervous...i thought it was maybe you being afraid of my temper...Taylor always seemed scared of me..." He said wondering if he was really that horrible. "You were a perfect friend that day...i had to fight so hard those first few days not to kiss you...but i wanted to be sure i was really over Taylor before anything could happen with you...I couldn't hurt you like he did...I never will." He said looking back into her eyes and kissing her nose.

Minerva smiled at him realizing how long the feeling for each other was happening before either realized it. She laughed, "Knowing you I'm surprised and a little disappointed you didn't find away to sneak up." She then listened and her smile disappeared and she rolled to her stomach propping her self up on her arms. "Maxwell I would never be afraid of you, even when we were friends I trusted you more then most people. Justin and Harvey are probably the only other two people I have trusted and that took a lot longer then it did with you." She smiled as he kissed her nose, "Well I'm glad you couldn't hurt me, because my temper can be just as bad, you heard the screaming the other night at my house." She knew the entire house had to have heard them yelling at each other.

Maxwell laughed. "Maybe i'll try when we get back..." He said sweetly. He was relieved at her words. "I'm happy you trust me...I never want to see you look at me the way that Taylor did...like i was some sort of beast.." He said knowing he felt like one at times... "I heard it..and I wanted to come up there and see what happened but i didn't wanna make things worse...I don't think Leelee likes me very much.." he said with a chuckle.

Minerva shook her head, "I would never ever think of you like that. Taylor was crazy to think that. Plus I can handle a temper, I'm not afraid of much." She sat up next to him and leaned kissing his forehead and playing with his hair a bit, "Well I'm glad you didn't come up, if you would have walked in that office and saw Edward with his wand in my cheek and mine at him I don't think it would have ended nicely. I told you what was said about your dad, but he was furious about the file. I wouldn't worry about Leelee she doesn't like anyone. I don't even know if she even likes her own boyfriend."

Maxwell smirked. "I love you! you always know what to say to me...you make me feel like you'll always understand." He said smiling at the kiss on the forehead and her playing with his hair. "I don't think i would have been able to control myself...i'm glad i didn't see that...and well Leelee didn't seem like she hated me too much..." He said with a small chuckle.

Minerva smiled "I love you too. I really feel the same Maxwell. I feel like you just get me, I think that's why things aren't as hard with you. No matter what you seem like you understand."She looked into his eyes and sighed "It's not the first time I have went up against him. When I was in hiding and Justin's mom and Kyle were trying to keep me protected Edward found me there. We didn't know he was trying to find me to protect me. I saw him looking through the window a mistake he never makes and I was afraid he was going to hurt the rest of them so I took off outside after him and went wand to wand with him. He knew I was safe where I was because Kyle and him grew up together, so he did not speak a word of why he was really there, he made it like he was the bad guy to keep me safe." She shivered a bit thinking about that day. "I'm going to be traveling with him at some point, he wants me to go with him on a case and I think I'm going to go. I want to see first hand what goes on." She wasn't sure how Maxwell was going to take that part and was a bit nervous to tell him, but he was in the hall he knew she wasn't getting out of it.

"I feel like i do, and if i don't i try my hardest to understand.." He listened to her story and hated what she had to say about going with Edward on a case, he didn't trust Edward. The man was a killer...although now it seemed so was his father...In Maxwell's eyes Edward was responsible for Carina's death but he couldn't say that out loud to Minnie. He sighed, he wasn't going to lie and pretend to like the idea. "What does it matter what goes on? You don't plan on doing that so who cares...do you?" He asked a little scared of the answer.

Minerva looked away feeling for the first time a wall creep up around her. "I don't know what I want to do. I haven't put much thought in it. With everything that has went on, I just don't know what I am going to do, but I want to understand it more, I want to learn. Maxwell there are traits Blaze family members carry this business has went through the family and well Edward thinks I have some of those traits. The way I can read people just by looking at them, but I have told you that before." She didn't look at him feeling a bit ashamed to feel that she needed to be standoffish with him.

Maxwell wanted to be angry with her but he couldn't, he thought she was being stupid, these people were clearly bad..Max saw everything in black and white. You were either good or bad there was no in between. He sighed again. "I just, i don't want you to get hurt...you're not like them, you might be able to read people but you're not heartless...you're not cold like they are, could you do it? could you find a little girl knowing her death could come by you doing so?" He asked without anger but instead searching her face for answers.

Minerva looked away, "I didn't say I wanted to do it, but I need to know about it more. Maxwell my need to know started out because I wanted trained I wanted to be able to track...track those men." She said with hate in her voice which was not something that was ever heard from Minerva. "but then the other night scared me to death seeing Jack's name. I...I have to learn this business if it will help protect the people I love, I'm not losing anyone else."

Maxwell put a hand on her shoulder as she talked about those men. "I...I want to find them too...I want to help you, you're not in this alone." He said moving to look in her eyes. "I think i understand...But you won't lose me..nothing will take me from you, okay?" He asked with his normal understanding look, if this is what she wants to do than he'll support it.

She looked into his eyes with fear and hurt showing through hers. She was confused, confused about everything except her feelings towards him. She took his face in her hands and leaned in kissing him.

Maxwell looked back trying to calm her with his. He kissed her back and pulled her into a hug, he pulled back from the kiss and put his head next to hers and whispered. "Nothing's ever gonna happen to us...I'll be right here...always.." He said looking in her eyes with love and confidence that his words were true. "Don't be afraid."

Minerva fell into his hug when he looked at her again she couldn't help but smile a bit even though she felt anxiety creeping in. "I try not to, but its just hard not to be scared." She leaned back in hugging him and placing head on his shoulder just wanting to have his arms around her.

Maxwell held her tightly. "I know but, i'll never let you down...i'll never let anything happen to you. We're partners after all, we've got to look out for each other.." He said holding her tight and feeling the love between them, nothing else mattered, nothing but her...

Minerva pulled from the hug and looked at him, "I love you so much." She leaned in kissing him passionately. She just couldn't believe how amazing he was, always so understanding, never seeming to doubt or get upset with her.

"I love you." Maxwell kissed her just as passionately. Pulling her closer, he would always try and make her feel happy and excepted. He pulled her onto his lap and held her closely.

Minerva sat down and smiled a bit through the kiss. She took her hands up over his shoulders and around his neck. She couldn't believe how happy she was with him. The feeling was so strong.

Maxwell continued to kiss her, trying to push her to face him, sitting them face to face. He moved his hands to her back and started rubbing it a little as they kissed.

Minerva stopped kissing him and smiled, "How do we always end up like this." she teased him, but went right back to kissing him, because of course she could never get enough of his kisses. She moved her hands into his hair and moved to get more comfortable.

Maxwell smirked and was about to say something when he found himself kissing her again he lowered his hands to her hips and worked his way up her back again, getting rid of something and holding her closer.

Minerva felt herself get a ping of hesitation. Why the feeling she looked at him with a hint of anxiety in her eyes. She got up giving him a weak smile and walked back to the side of the bed sitting down. She patted next to her for him to follow and curled into the blanket.

Maxwell felt confused and then slipped in next to her. "Are you okay?....Too much?" He asked feeling back and reaching for her hand.

Minerva moved closer to him wanting to be cuddled against him. "I don't know.. I want to say no, because well." She felt her face getting red, "Because I want to be close to you, I feel a bit reckless around you, but at the same time that anxiety and memories come up. As much as I try to push them away they are there. I'm sorry."
