Kristi had gone up to her room after Marcella left for Azkaban. She hoped they'd be okay. She just couldn't imagine what Snape and Marcella would be going through right now. Tired of just waiting around in her room, she went down to the kitchen and found Archie at the table which was full of books. "Find anything?" she asked, taking a seat beside him. |
"no ,been through five now all of which would make a a troll look thin"Archie said running a hand hrough his hair. |
Kristi laid her head on the table. "You're never going to find anything. There's a reason why they call them 'unforgivable' curses, you know. The only way we're going to get him out of there is if we bust him out. But I suppose we won't be able to manage that either," Kristi said to the table. |
As Marce returned to Grimmauld Place, she was greeted by a sympathetic hand on the shoulder from Dumbledore. She merely narrowed her eyes and then stormed away in response. Scrambling up the wooden stairs, caring nought for the noise she were making, she threw herself onto her four poster bed and cried loudly and heartbrokenly into her hands. |
"Marcella's home then"Archie said getting up "coming?"Archie asked kristi |
Kristi looked up when she heard the front door open. Walking to the doorway, she watched as Marcella stormed up the stairs. She didn't know whether to leave Marcella alone or follow her up. After a few minutes just standing there, she decided to follow her. She didn't bother knocking on the door, but entered the room to see Marcella crying uninhibited and uncontrollably. Kristi sat down on the bed beside her as her own eyes began to fill in sympathy for her friend and in her own frustration over her father's imprisonment. She placed a hand on Marcella's back as a gesture of support. |
Leaning onto Kristi, she shook her head lightly, as she mumbled through her tears, "He looks so awful Kristi. So thin, so ill, so deprived..And the worst thing was, all he worried about was me! He said," she choked, her hands shaking over her face, "he said for me to forget him." |
Kristi put her arms around Marcella and let her cry. Silent tears streamed down Kristi's own face as she consoled her friend. "Who knew Snape could be so selfless?" she joked, trying to lighten the mood. |
"It hurts." she choked, carefully, "It feels as though he's rejected me. I gave him all of me and now," she said, her head resting on her forehead, "Now it seems it were all for nothing." |
Kristi didn't know what to say. Truth be told, nothing she could say was going to help anyway. She wiped her own tears from her eyes and gave Marcella a determined look while holding her shoulders so that Marcella would look back at her. "He only said that because he doesn't think he's going to get out of there and he wants you to be happy. But, we know better. We're going to get him out. I don't know how, but we're going to do it, no matter what it takes," she said, seriously. |
She nodded her head, "We've still got Lupin, I think he may help." she said, determinedly. Remvoing her cloak from around her shoulders, she looked around with a frown upon her face and then asked, "Where's Archie?" |
Archie walked up to Marcella's room he walked in ever so slightly ."how was he ?"Archie asked carefully. |
"Worse than I expected." she mused, trying to smile at him but failing miserably. Getting up from the bed, she smiled at Kristi and then walked over to Archie. Lowering her voice, she asked, "Can I speak with you a minute?" |
Kristi sat on the bed and watched as Marcella walked over to Archie. She decided to let the two old friends have their privacy, so she got up and walked past them, out of the room. |
Marce took Archie by the shoulder and lead her into his room. Sitting on the edge of the bed, rubbing her hair from her face, she asked, "Where do you stand, Arch? Because it's obvious Dumbledore isn't going to help much and, well, we need you. The more people the btter and I guess, I just want to know I've got your support. You and Kristi arepractically all I have left now, I need you guys to hold onto." she finished, the desparation clear in the tone of her soft voice. |
"course i'm with you , I just thought Dumbledore must have good reasons cos this isn't in his nature"Archie explained "I am prepared to help "Archie said shaking his head so that a string of hair in his face flew to the side out of his face. |
"Dumbledore is just biased because he thinks Darrin is the innocent victim in all this." she sighed, standing in front of him and breathing heavily. "It was bizarre, but today, when I saw him, it seemed almost as if he were pushing me away from him. I feel so rejected Arch, he doesn't want me anymore. Dumbledore doesn't have much of a need for me anymore. I gave up everything in Norway and now I'm alone again. Nobody here either loves me or wants me." she complained, frustrated that her life had suddenly become such a huge lie. |
"kristi and I still want you ,you are not alone on this marce , ithought bi was was alone when i was in the caves around Hogwarts ,when i changed my mind but i've pulled through ,so will you"Archie said as he held her upper arms with each of his hands and looked straight in to her eyes. |
A few sad tears trickled down her cheeks as she heard Archie rebuking her words, telling her she was wanted by at least two people. Unable to utter anything else, she batted her hands lightly and mumbled, "Hold me." |
Archie put an arm around marcella pulling her head near his chest "you cry all you want marce ,i'm not telling anyone" |
She allowed herself to be comforted by him and sighed, "I'm not crying because of him, but because of you. Those kind words you gave me, despite all I haven't done for you. I ignored you when you liked me, and I hate myself for shunning you like that." she cried, lifting an arm, clinging onto his shoulder, burying her face in him. |
"i don't care about that ,about what you say ,this is hard for you ,any way it's good to let your emotions emerge"Archie said smiling at her slightly. |
She smiled back and composed herself a little, brushing her hair from her face, not fully aware that they were still holding one another. "I'm sorry Arch, I am really sorry for hurting you then." she said, with the utmost sincerity in her eyes. "I wouldn't blame you if you wanted nothing more to do with me, but to want to help me? That shows you really care and for that, I'm grateful." |
"Well I'm only human"Archie said chuckling slightly "seen Darrin lately?"Archie asked a little more seriously. |
Marce didn't like the change in conversation or the tone in which he spoke so she looked him directly in the eyes and told him, "No." It was an honest answer but somehow she felt she were stilling lying to him. Loosening her hand from his shoulder, she suddenly became aware of how close they were and backed away a little, saying, "Sorry Arch." as if it were her fault, once again. |
