Some hours later, having been sat at the windowsill, she watched as Darrin re-entered the house and waited for his door to slam. Then she crept down to the kitchen, her stomach retching with hunger. Entering the room a little too quickly, she jumped aback as she caught sight of Archie, sat alone, once more. |
Feeling hungry, Kristi wandered out into the kitchen and grabbed something to eat. She noticed Archie and Marcella, but ignored them. She was tired of trying to deal with people and their problems. Kristi just wanted to get back to Hogwarts so she could try and figure out a way to bust her father out of Azkaban. The libraries here just weren't extensive enough. |
"Dementors feed off people's emotions, they're feelings." she said, more randomly than to anyone in particular. "The way you are now, you wouldn't last a minute there, let alone bust him out." she sighed, making it clear that thought had well and truly run through her mind more times than she breathed. |
*ANdriel was tired of reading the book so she walked down and found the kitchen. She entered and saw Kristi. She ran over to her and hugged her since she hasn't seen her in years* KRISTI! |
Noticing how Kristi failed to take heed to her words, she cast her eyes aside as Andriel rushed in, clearly not taking note of the dampened atmosphere in the room. Remembering that she didn't know, she gave a weak half smiled and whispered, more to herself, "She doesn't know." |
Kristi sneered at the back of Marcella's head. And then jumped in surprise at Andriel's hug. She pat the girl on the back before stepping away, "I didn't think you liked me." |
Marce narrowed her eyes toward Kristi and sank down onto the bench next to Archie, squeezing his hand to prevent her fists from doing anything she'd regret. She bit her lips to prevent her mouth from saying anything she'd regret either. |
*Andriel's smile faded and she turned to Marcella* What do I don't know, MArcella? |
"Look around, I presume you've noticed people around the house. The person missing.." she sighed, "The depressive atmosphere..." she finsihed, flicking dirt from her nail, her clench on Archie's hand becoming stronger. |
*Andriel looked down* Snape's missing... |
From down the hallway, he could hear a few female voices coming from the kitchen, one of which sounding fiery. He knew instantly who it was and caught up with the conversation. A hand lazily holding the door, he walked in and mumbled, "Yes, because he tried to kill me." Marce scoffed and started to say, "Only because..." but one warning look from him, a glint of evil flashed in his eyes and she was silence, amazingly. |
Kristi caught the look Darrin shot at Marcella. She narrowed her eyes and stared at him from across the room. Nothing. She couldn't pick up anything at all from him; which only aroused her suspicions further. What was he hiding? Or was he really just that upset about Snape and Marcella's relationship and was naturally closed off? |
*ANdriel didn't know that Darrin was an evil person, so she walked towards him and smiled. Then she shook his hand saying* Hello... |
Frustrated that he had silenced her, but unable to comment further, she settled for dodging his eyesight, preferring to pretend her were not there. "I dont believe I've had the pleasure of meeting you..." he said, taking her hand and kissing it. "I presume you're one of Marce's friends. She has so many and yet never introduces me. One would think I meant nothing to her." he commented, sickening smile creeping upon his perverted face. |
*ANdriel looked at Darrin and smiled, but taking away her hand* My name is Andriel by the way...Andriel Mortlock |
"The pleasure is all mine." he said, obligingly before moving around her, saying, "Excuse me, but all I wanted was a quiet word with Marcella." He stood next to her and slipped a note into her pocket, unknowing to the others and whispered to her, in a low sneer, "I trust you'll be staying the night again, dear." Then he turned and walked from the room, but not before giving her a final glance. |
*Andriel looked at MArce and Darrin and could smell that something was wrong, but she ignored it and looked at Kristi* Kristi, how is it goin? |
Kristi looked at Andriel, "Snape is in prison. How do you think it's going?" Kristi took a deep breath. "I'm sorry Andriel. I didn't mean to be so short. It's just that everything is so worng and I don't know what we're going to do to fix it." |
*ANdriel looked down and thought for a minute then she looked up at Kristi* I tell you one thing, soon everything gonna be ok. If there is something then you can always trust me. I will help you as much as I manage... |
ooc: Just a little note concerning Darrin and my feelings on the other characters' interactions with him: Kristi knows that Darrin is the reason why Snape was sent to Azkaban, even if she wasn't there because of the explaining that was done at the cottage before the end of P&P. So, that is why I've been playing it like Kristi is suspicious. Not because she actually suspects Darrin's true motives, but because she's still suspicious about that incident in the HW with Snape. Archie was also there, so of course he'd be a little suspicious as well. However, Andriel was unconcious during the entire time and I think Nick was out of the loop as well (is Jenn playing him once we get to Hogwarts? I know she doesn't have much time now with her new treatment...) So, they probably wouldn't be suspicious at all. |
The following day, she swore at her own stupidity as she awoke to find Darrin laying next to her. Standing up, she tied her robe around her body and fled from the room immediately, not daring to look back and see if he had witnessed her running away. Lighting a candle with her wand, she rummaged rather noisily in the library, desparate tears clinging to her broken face. |
Kristi was in the kitchen sipping her coffee and still trying to figure out a way to bust Snape out of Azkaban when she heard a noise coming from the other room. She walked in to see Marcella rumaging around in the library. "What are you looking for?" Kristi asked. |
Slamming around 10 books onto one of the old, worn , wooden library desks, she heaved a sigh and then stammered, "I cant take this much longer, there just has to be a way to get him out." She then plnked herself on a chair and started to shuffle through the index of a book called, "How to appeal against a ruling by the Wizengamot." Letting her hair down, she dug deep into her pocket and handed her the note Darrin had slipped her. "It's from Dumbledore, concerning the sentence he's been given. Something along the lines of a decade, if not more.." she coughed, due partly to the dust and to the anxiety. "No wonder why he was so pleased to give it to me." she hissed, flicking through the pages. |
