The implication that she would sleep around, cut her deeply on the inside. But she had to admit he was right to some degree. Darrin...Archie...She also had to accept what it looked like from his perspective. But he doesn't know...she thought, her heart failing her. She had lost all hope. Archie loved her, but she didn't love him. She loved the man stood before her, but she felt certain he no longer loved her. She sat upon the freshly made bed and allowed her fingers to linger over the random bumps where the quilt scrunched where she had sat. "I'm not like that..." she mumbled, her tears dripping and emerging into the material. "That's not me..." she whispered, almost as if she were trying to convince herself that the acts she had commited weren't done by her. "Just hit me." she cried, looking directly at him for the first time, hoping he might see her pain. "Do anything to me, please. I cant bear this guilt, this feel of filth. My slef-disgust, the disappointment in your eyes, the heart break...please, just numb the pain..." she begged, clinging to the top of the robe ashamedly. |
Snape turned to face her once more. "You should have thought about that before you defiled my bed," he said, his voice threatening to catch as he fought back tears. Taking a deep breath, he started to walk toward the door. "I need to go make other arrangements for you. You cannot stay in here any longer," he said, cooly. |
She didn't want him to leave, but on what grounds could she make him stay? In total dismay, she talked aloud, more to her mind, or to something that was not there, than anything else. "Why me? I have tried so hard to rid myself...and yet it came back and smacked me in the face. There is no-one left, it seems I shall live with this forever." Close to a frenzy, she made sure he was not looking and tore a sharp looking rusty knife from the desk next to her. taking it to her veins, she cut just the once, releasing some of the pent up anger and frustration. She didn't want to live, right now. There was nothing left to stay for, except to live a lie. "I dont want to be a lie anymore.." she sobbed, feeling the rust seeping into the one wound. "I dont want this burden..." |
Though he did not hear her words, he heard Marcella speaking. He turned back just in time to see her take the knife to her arm. Snape stood shocked for a moment before instinct chased away his anger and hurried to her side. He was all too familiar with this type of wound, having been inflicted with them both by himself and by others. He grabbed her arm with one hand, putting pressure to the wound and raising it over her head. Ignoring her protests, Snape put his other arm around her waist and half-carried her into the bathroom. He set the paling Marcella so that she was leaning against the sink while he ran the water and flushed the wound. He knew it would sting, but he needed to get all of the rust out of it before he could attempt to heal it. Taking out his wand and still keeping a steadying arm around her, Snape pointed it at the still bleeding cut and watched as it slowly healed and the blood stopped flowing. Marcella was white as a sheet and looked as though she were about to pass out, so he carefully scooped her up and placed her back on the bed. Picking up the knife, he unlocked one of his cabinets and placed it inside before procuring a vial of blood-restorative potion. He liked to keep some on hand just in case his Death Eater duties got a little rough, as they invariably did. After forcing the potion down Marcella's throat, he sat down in a chair beside the bed and waited silently, trying to decide what to do next. He really should just take her to the Hospital Wing... |
As he had taken her around the waist and lfited her to the bathroom, she had tried to protest against it, but found that as the blood drained from her body, so did her strength, her energy. Leaning against the sink, she felt tears prick around her eyes as the stinging sensation from the wound erupted and caused her to bite the insides of her mouth. She didn't deserve the release of being able to cry out because of the pain. This was her fault, she deserved to suffer. Shaking, she cried, "You really dont have to do this." She pulled her arm away from him as she felt herself being laid upon the bed. Holding it tightly to her chest, she choked as she felt something being forced down her neck. Her vision blurred from the tears, she blinked madly and shook his grasp from her. "I dont deserve this, alright. I've done bad, I know I have and I cant ever change it. Why wont you let me make things easier on the pair of us and just let me die?" |
"Despite any personal or emotional feelings on the matter, I have a duty to perform. And as I told you the summer before last, Dumbledore has entrusted you to my care. I am to be sure no harm comes to you, whether that harm come from your father or yourself," Snape said while walking over to the fireplace. Taking a piece of parchment and a quill from the mantle, he scratched a quick note to Dumbledore. Snape lit a fire with his wand, threw in some floo powder, followed by the note, and mumbled, "Headmaster's Office." |
She daren't ask what he had written, she only mumbled, "I've gone and proved him right about me, you, us.." feeling lost and all alone, she attempted to reach and grasp onto whatever fine straws of a relationship they had left. Playing with the loose strands fraying on the bandage, tears in her eyes, she asked, without looking up, "Aren't you even going to ask why?" |
"I'm tired of playing these games, Marcella. If you intend to tell me why then tell me why. I don't care to ask anymore," he said, sitting in the chair by the fire, waiting for Dumbledore's reply. He hoped he came quickly; Snape didn't want to be in this room with Marcella any longer than was absolutely necessary. |
Tearing from the bed, she cast aside the sheet and stood next to him, spinning him around by the shoulder. Taking a stern hand to his cheek, she stroked her thumb against his now rough skin, tracing the lines before making him look her in the eyes, "Look at me, Severus. Really, look at me. Would these eyes lie to you? Do you really think I would've done this if I thought there were another way out for me? Do you really think I would've done...that of my own free will?" |
He pulled away from her hand. "It is not your eyes that lie," Snape said, really looking at her as she had said. "It is your mouth which lies. No one had forced you to do what you did. And whether or not it was your only way out... Well, you didn't even see fit to know the outcome of my appeal before you ran into his arms." |
"So you're going to blame me for losing hope? For making a mistake?" she growled, pushing him in the chest, as though forcing herself away from him. "Lord knows, you're not one to talk. You've made more mistakes in your life than I have in the past few days and yet you see fit to condemn me before you even bother to ask. Didn't it even occure to you that..." she stuttered, fiddling with the lapel around her waist and undoing the robe briefly, "that this, just isn't me!" she finished, folding the robe back up and folding her arms gruffly, landing in a nearby chair, knowing it was the curse that prevented her from explaining it all. The curse that was forcing them apart in this way. Even in death, Darrin was hurting her. |
Snape stepped back as Marcella pushed at him. "I have made mistakes in my past, yes. I have also had to make some tough choices and live with the consequences of those decisions," he said, gesturing toward Marcella. Snape turned his back on her once more and closed his eyes. His emotions were riding him and he could feel his control slowly slipping away as it always did when he was around Marcella. Only this time, it wasn't attraction that was his enemy, it was the jealous anger and the desire to hurt the girl. He could feel his darkness welling up from within him, closer to the surface than it had been since his early years as a Death Eater. It had taken hold of him only once since he had changed sides in the war. He should never have thought of Darrin. Thoughts of the man fueled the fire that had kindled at the sight of Marcella with Archie. Before he knew what he was doing, Snape had walked over to Marcella and grabbed her by the shoulders, shaking her. "Who is it then, if it is not you?" he asked, his eyes . "And why do you not confide in me? I loved you more than I had ever loved anyone. You professed your love to me and yet you give yourself away to other men when my fate has not even been decided. You expect me to forgive you? I do. But I cannot give you what you want. I cannot give you my understanding or my love. Between the dementors and the image of you and him burning in my mind, there is nothing left of my love for you." Before he could say anymore, there was a knock upon the door. Snape released Marcella so that she fell roughly back into the chair. But, intead of answering the door, he stood, looking down at Marcella, as his mind began to seal itself up. |
ooc- I'm having mental images of Snape shouting lol It's rather funny really, but great reaction. She had not expected him to even consider touching her so when he grabbed her, the last thing she expected was a verbal beating. Trying desparately to block his words from her mind, she couldn't help but close her eyes, her lips quivering slowly as the sobs just ran down her cheeks of their own free will. She was unable to answer him, he was in a frenzy, he was in no state in which he could listen to her. Feeling herself being thrown back onto the chair, she threw her face in her hands and just sat there, sobbing her heart out, wishing that she were able to throw the treacherous organ right up, so that she would never have to deal with it's meddling again. Hearing the door being knocked upon, she turned her head away from it so that the entrant would not see the appalling state she were in. |
His thoughts and feeling now safely ensconced in the farthest reaches of his mind, Snape walked to the door and opened it to reveal a concerned Dumbeldore. "Headmaster," Snape said in a dry tone as he invited the older man inside. "I'm sorry to disturb you, I know you were looking after the body in the Hospital Wing." "It's quite alright, Severus. Kristi is there now," he said, moving toward his god-daughter. |
She groaned into her hand as she felt him close his mind. Knowing there was no point in trying to break through it, she merely thought freely, hoping he would care to listen. "You felt the pain, you felt it when Dar...when he attacked me..." she sighed, feeling the curse prevent her from thinking anything further. Turning her body away now, so that the chair face the window, she wiped away at her eyes, not wanting her god-father to be proven right; that their relationship wouldn't ever work. |
Seeing Marcella turn from him, Dumbledore looked back at Severus. He knew something was wrong between the two, Marcella would not be hiding her tears, otherwise. Also, Severus said he had healed the wound as best he could and wouldn't say why he would not take the girl to the Hospital Wing himself. "I'll take her up to the Hospital Wing for the night and we can make arrangements for a permanent resisdence for Marcella in the morning," he said before walking over to Marcella. Holding out a hand for her, Dumbledore said softly, "Let's get you to the Hospital Wing. Professor Snape is very good at combat healing, but he lacks much of Madame Pomfrey's expertise." |
Snape pushed Marcella's thoughts from his mind and nodded to the Headmaster. While Dumbledore attempted to remove Marcella from his rooms, Snape walked back over to the chair by the fire and sat down. Taking out a book, he buried himself within the pages. |
She nodded toward her god-father and allowed herself ro be led away and out of the room by him. Agreeing with him, she mumbled, "Yes, he lacks the compassion that she has." |
Snape looked up at Marcella's muttered comment and let it slide off of him, like the compassionless person she thought he was, and kept reading. Dumbledore led Marcella up to the Hospital Wing and over to a bed. After Madame Pomfrey was finished with her ministrations, Dumbledore left the Wing with Kristi in tow. |
Poppy had insisted on covering her in blankets tightly and wrapping her up warm. She tried to convicne her that she was fine, but she would not listen. As the woman left for her office, which was adjacent to the wing, Marce pulled the blankets from her and sat with her knees pulled to her chest tightly. She felt extremely hot and mused that that was probably why Madam Pomfrey had assumed she were ill. Raising a hand to her burning cheeks, she discovered her tears were stuck to her skin, it seemed to be pulling on her skin. Standing quietly, so that the fussy nurse would not hear, she stood over the basin of water that stood next to her, on a clean shelf and began washing them away. If only it were so easy to wash away what she had done. As the water clensed her face, she had the sudden urge to clean her entire body. She suddenly felt extremely dirty and, after checking with Madam Pomfrey, who was reluctant to let her go, she snuck into the prefect bathrooms, determined to scrub away the filth she felt she were drowning in. |
Kristi stepped out from behind the curtain surrounding Darrin's bed as she heard people approaching. She watched as Madame Pomfrey flitted about Marcella and then, she walked out with Dumbledore. They parted ways as he went back to his office and she continued down to the dungeons, at Dumbledore's request. Apparently, Dumbledore didn't want Snape left alone. Not having given her a reason, Kristi assumed it had something to do with the fact that it was Dumbledore who brought Marcella with the Hospital Wing and not her long-awaited lover. |
She couldn't even bare to look at her body as the robe slinked down her figure and fell to the ground. Turning on the shower, she lifted her head so that the water fell directly on her face. Casting her eyes to the mirror, behidn the shower of water, she found she couldn't even recognise herself anymore. Deeply distressed, she pushed the water down and through her hair, wringing it so tightly that she felt some strands rip out from the very root. Not even paying heed to the pain, she took up a sponge that lay by the side and began scrubbing her face, ripping the tears from her cheeks, scratching away at them so hard that the skin began to peel and redden. Again, she disregarded the pain and began to tear the material onto her shoulders. In hopelessness, she allowed the sponge to fall from the ground as she stood there, drowning in the water, naked, simply crying. Feeling so weak, she fell with ehr back against the wall and leaned her head against it. The water washed away her tears almost as quickly as they appeared, but they were only to be replaced just as rapidly. Slipping to the floor of the cubicle, she raised her hands to her face and wiped her hair away, crying painfully into her hands as her nails grazed the scratches on her face. Who was she? What had she become? |
Snape looked up at the knock on his door, but didn't bother to answer it. He didn't want to be bothered; he was busy trying to read. But, his brain kept threatening to bring up those images so, instead of reading, he was forced to spend his time controlling his mind. Ignoring a second knock, he dropped the book in his lap, leaned his head back against the chair, closed his eyes, and began to massage his temples. He heard the door open and shut, but was past caring as he fought the losing battle which raged within his head. Kristi knocked a couple of times, giving him plenty of time to answer, before she pushed the door open andwalked into the room. She gazed around and took in what information she could from her surroundings. The bed was slighlty unkempt yet, there were dark patches on the black fabric, suggesting... Blood stains, if the doplets on the floor were any indication. And there was Snape, her father, sitting in the corner, looking strained. She slowly and cautiously approached him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry for acting like a spoiled child, earrlier," Kristi whispered, saying the first thing that came to mind. |
oooo I wonder if Snape will tell her... The water dripping from the shower wasn't necessary; she could've drowned in her own guilt, in her own tears, in her own shame. Gripping onto one of the pipes, her finger slipped dangerously and fell to the floor with an ominous thud. The pain that should have come to her nerves, was surprisingly numb and she found herself able to forget about it completely. Rinsing her hair, she scratched her scalp viciously, knowing the skin was about to tear, but not really having a care. As the mildly warm water splashed on her head, she felt it sting a little, but paid no attention to it. She desereved this pain, she deserved to be punished. And if he wouldn't see to that, then she would. But she wasn't given the chance. Just as her eyes had flickered dangerously toward one of the pipes and then a piece of suspicious looking rope in the far corner of the room, pain unlike any other seared first through her mind and then through her body. "I know..." she heard the hiss, deeply in her mind. "I know.....and you disgust me.." The crucio cirse burnt through her veins like it had never done before. Strecthing out, her feet pushing against the walls of the cubicle, she squeezed her eyes shut fiercely, wishing the pain away. Instantly, it faded, leaving a dull ache throbbing through her organs. "I'll see to you properly when my servant awakens..." he hissed ominously, before leaving her body forever. Limp, numb, her body collapsed unconsciously, her head lolling onto her right shoulder, her arm drapped across her chest with the water still cascading heavily down upon her pale body. she's not dead. i just thought i'd add more drama, not that it was needed. but she told me to do it. it's not my fault. i think madam pomfrey will wonder where she's got to though. i also think this will force her and snape into talking more. dont know why, just does. i think he'd assume she's done this to herself, selfishly, and then i think she'd correct him. yes i can see that. *stops talking to herself* |
wow- that was awesome. When all she received in reply was a grunt, Kristi knelt in front of him and pulled her father's hands from his face. "I know something happened. I know you don't want to talk about it. But..." Kristi began, hesitantly. "Can you please tell me?" she pleaded, staring into his eyes with a look of deep concern. Snape sighed and let himself be manipulated by his daughter. Staring down into her eyes, he conveyed the images of what he had walked in on, the arguments, and the drama. He watched as Kristi's face lit up in concern and was quite surprised with her reaction. She was growing into her own person. No longer a little cut-out puppet of himself. Kristi stood and attempted to pull her father to his feet. This was ridiculous. She was surprised he had opened up to her, but even more so by the fact that he hadn't censored anything. Marcella had been trying to tell him something and, blinded by his jelousy, he had failed to pay any attention to it. "Get up. You're going to go see Marcella and you're going to let her speak. I'll hex you if I have to in order to make you listen. Now get up!" |
Poppy wasn't as suspicious as Sybill, but she always had a mothering instinct to know when something was wrong with one of her ill students. Her gut told her that something must have gone wrong, for Marcella to not have returned from the bathrooms yet. And what with it being her, the daughter of the Dark Lord, she had no doubts that she would most likely have fallen into trouble once more. But nothing, no pre-empted idea or thought could've prepared her for what she saw when she opened the door to the only locked shower cubicle in the bathrooms. Marcella lay, on the ground in a most awkward fashion. Her arm, with deep gashes down it, lay strewn across her chest. What looked like earlier trails of tears, on her cheeks, were now carrying trails of blood that looked to be seeping from her scalp. Clasping a shaky hand to her suddenly dry mouth in shock, she set the girl into the recovery position, drapped her robe over her naked body and dashed from the room, in a frenzy, knowing she had to find someone urgently. |
Snape allowed Kristi to lead him to the Hospital Wing. When he was in a better state of mind, he'd have to remember to deride her for it. Caught up in his thoughts, he hadn't been watching where he was going and it was only Kristi pulling him out of the way, that saved him from running headlong into Madame Pomfrey as she scurried down the hall. |
Not looking where she were going, directly, she found herself face to face with the dark chest of Severus Snape. Stepping backward, she composed herself and stammered, "Professor Snape. I'm afraid I need your assistance..." her eyes skirted toward the student stood next to him and she knew she had to be confidential. "A student appears to have serious injuries, possibly the after affects of a cruciatus curse. They're in the prefect bathrooms, I found her collapsed and bleeding extensively from the head. I really think I need to find Professor Dumbledore, but I cant leave her unaided and without treatment for her serious wounds." |
"What can I do to assist you?" Snape asked. "Kristi can go fetch the Headmaster." |
Hurrying the man along beside her and quickly shooing the girl in the direction of the headmaster's office, she turned to him and swiftly said, "With your experience, I'm hoping you shall be able to tell if it is, as a suspect, the after math of the cruciatus curse." she said, opening the door to the prefects bathroom. "I covered her body to save her face, not that that really matters..." she mumbled, "But then the curse does not explain the head injuries." Pulling back the curtain to the cubicle, she warned him, "It's not a pleasant sight." |
ooc: I don’t think you should have left me so much free reign with that last post, Emma. You know that when I have hours upon hours after you’ve gone to bed to post, I always write a book  Snape stepped up beside Madame Pomfrey as she held open the curtain to the cubicle. As he looked down at the pale, limp body of the girl, it took his mind a moment to register who it was: Marcella. He froze and stood staring at her still form; there was no motion at all coming from the body to indicate that she was even alive. Finally realizing that Poppy was still standing there, he gathered himself together and knelt down next to Marcella, the water which still covered the cubicle floor, soaking through his new clothes. He gently pushed the hair back from her face before putting a hand on her neck to feel her pulse. It was rapid and fluttery, but there, and Snape let out a breath he hadn’t even known he’d been holding. "It could have been the Cruciatus curse, but I can't say for sure," he said, taking off his outer robe to more fully cover Marcella's limp body. After adjusting the robe, he looked more carefully at the wound on her head. It was still bleeding, as head wounds are wont to do, but it was relatively shallow. She should be fine once she was cleaned up and attended to by the deft hands of the matron. Only after taking a cloth from nearby and washing the blood off Marcella’s face, did Snape turn back to address Madame Pomfrey. "The head wound may have occurred during a fall or it could have been self-inflicted," Snape continued, lifting her into his arms and walking back to the infirmary, with Madame Pomfrey jogging to keep up with him. Many thoughts raced through his mind as he briskly, but carefully, walked Marcella back to the Hospital Wing. He'd been overjoyed to find her alive and wondered if perhaps he still loved her after all. He shook his head; he had known from the start that he could never fall in love with Marcella Riddle. She was twenty years his junior, she was the daughter of the Dark Lord, God-daughter of Dumbledore, and irritated him to no end. He should never have touched her, looked at her, talked to her, or spent any amount of time with her, even if she had been entrusted to his care. He should have closely guarded his emotions, or even asked Dumbledore to allow Kristi to remain with him over that fateful summer. Maybe if Marcella had had any sort of real companionship, none of this would have happened. There were a lot of what ifs, it seemed. There were an infinite number of alternate scenarios that could have played out where he would not have fallen in love with Marcella nor had his still beating heart ripped out of his chest and left out in the noonday sun for the carrion birds to feast upon. If Snape had his way, he wouldn't be carrying her, even now. What he needed to was to get as far away from this girl as possible. It wasn't doing him any good. Surely Dumbledore could find another safe place for the girl to stay, away from Hogwarts or even in another, remote part of the castle where they'd never have any chance of meeting one another. He'd gladly forgo his meals in the Great Hall... They made it back to the Hospital Wing and still Marcella hadn't stirred. Poppy pointed to a bed and Snape gently laid Marcella upon it, careful to ensure that the robes covering her did not slip. Restraining himself from smoothing the hair from her face, Snape stepped back from the bed, ready to leave. |
The imagery there, with the birds and the heart, was really awsomely powerful. I bow down to the queen of rping. Now, what to do... Hurrying after the professor, she watched as he had lifted and carried her to the hospital wing. Granted, she could not have carried the girl alone, but then wasn't that what magic was for? If he could've easily lifted her with a spell, why did he feel it necessary to touch her with his hands? Eyeing them suspiciously, she remembered faintly, the whispers she had heard at the staff table whilst the professor had been locked up in Azkaban. It would seem that some of the rumors were true. Even now, she knew he were hurting deeply for some reason, but his lingering stance next to the bed told her he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to leave. Cleaning the head wounds, the nurse found that there was no sufficient damage to the skull and thus laid her to rest under the blankets, after adquately dressing her, asking the professor to turn his back whilst she did so. However, when she had asked him this, he had seemed entranced, his eyes fixed on her body. The man cared for, that was for sure, but how much. Knowing she shouldn't meddle, but knowing also the headmaster would wish to know what had happened to his god-daughter, she briefly said, "I shall go see where Kristi has gotten to." and then left the room, without giving the man chance to leave or object. |
Wow, after that last post of mine you want me to do humor? Kristi ran off toward the Headmaster's office while Snape went off with Madame Pomfrey to help with the injured student. It wasn't until she stood in front of the stone gargoyle entrance which led to Dumbledore's office that she realized that she didn't know the password. She cursed in frustration and began to list all the different candies she could think of, knowing that the Headmaster was quite quirky and seemed to stick to that theme when choosing new passwords for the door. After a good twenty minutes of standing in the corridor, racking her brain, Kristi decided that it might be better to just give up and head back to the infirmary when she spotted Madame Pomfrey bustling down the hall. |
Snape tried to will his feet to move, but after he had taken a few steops from the bed, they became glued to the spot. His eyes betrayed him, as well, as they remained fixed on Marcella's body. Reluctantly, he turned when Poppy had told him to and the woman abruptly left the wing without giving him a chance to object. Assuming that meant Marcella was now properly dressed, Snape turned to face the bed once more and found himself sitting in a chair beside it, without concious knowledge of how he had gotten there. |
After being thrown from the room by Snape, Archie hastily got dressed in to his black shirt, cloak and trousers whilst in the corridor and stormed off out in to the midnight grounds. As he stepped out into the cool night air he kept taking long strides until he came to the edge of the cliff of Hogwarts that overlooked the lake. He stared down at the black surface of the lake, glimmering by the light of the sickle moon Archie stared at his reflection in the lake. As he stared it for what seemed like hours eventually he came out of the trance-like state when his reflection rippled, his face oddly distorted, he looked up to see the Giant squid sinking away from him. |
Having spotted the ignorant child bumbling around the stone gargoyle, she pushed her aside, shaking her head, feeling just able to restrain herself from smacking the girl. "The password is vampire lollipops!" As she said these words, the gargoyle stepped back and the stairs began to turn upward. Stepping onto them, she dragged the girl along with her, instinct telling her that the pair needed to be left alone a little longer. Her eyes flickering open slowly, she was shocked to find herself dressed and in a bed underneath warm blankets. She couldn't remember changing herself and she couldn't even recall having left the bathrooms. In shock, she turned over in the bed and found herself almost face to face with Severus, who were sat next to her in a chair. Jumping a little, she cursed and then began to stammer, her eyes zooming around the room, rapidly, "Where am I? How did I get here?" |
Kristi was shocked that Madame Pomfrey could be so rough and so didnt' protest as she was dragged behind the woman. However, as they reached the top of the stairs, she wrenched herself free from the woman. "I can walk on my own, thanks," she sneered as they approached Dumbledore's office door. Snape watched Marcella and a few moments after Poppy had left he saw her eyes flutter open. "You're in the Hospital Wing. I brought here from the prefects bathroom. What did you do to yourself?" he asked, coldly. |
She sighed gruffly and turned away from the man, her cheeks resting on the opposite side of the pillow. Picking at the corner of it, she sighed, "Why do you have to assume it was self-inflicted? Do I really seem that crazy, as to perform an unforgivable on myself?" she scoffed. She was surprisingly sarcastic for someone so weak, but whenever he agitated her, she always seemed to find the inner strength to defend herself. |
Snape sat stiffly in the chair, his elbows resting on the arms as he stared at Marcella. "You've proven to me that you are as unpredicatable and careless as I took you for when I first met you. Why should I not think it was self-inflicted?" |
"Well, maybe next time I decide to use an unforgivable on myself, I'll use the killing curse." she muttered, bitterly, still not turning back to face him. Why was he being so difficult. Maybe it had something to do with what had happened but still, she had almost died. She had thought she were dead. Without making a sound, she opened her mind, without knowing it and just cried quietly onto the pillow, her tears being left free to trickle down their own path. |
Snape was surprised when he was suddenly bombarded with thoughts and emotions. It took him a moment to filter and focus, as he was unprepared for the onslaught. He was overcome by the hurt and fear Marcella was broadcasting. Abandoning his initial plan to give her a piece of his mind, Snape got up, moved to the other side of the bed, and knelt so that he was face-to-face with her. |
"What?!" she asked, as she found his face in front of hers, rather awkwardly. Despite the extreme length to which he were annoying her, she felt a heart wrenching urge to reach out and touch him, hold him, kiss him. |
"I think I understand what Kristi was saying," Snape began, moving to another chair, now that he had Marcella's attention, once more. "I am ready to listen if you are willing to tell me what happened." |
"What happened? When? Just now? With Archie? While you were in prison?" she asked, frantically, not knowing where to start. So much had happened and she was limited as to what she could say. A part of her desparately just wanted to reach out and touch him, another part of her wanted to recoil and never look at the man again. |
Snape ran a hand through his hair as he sighed. He watched as his pale hand fell limply into his lap before looking back at Marcella, a lock of hair falling into his eyes. "Why don't you start with what happened with Archie?" he said, biting back a sneer. |
Suddenly she felt her throat becoming constricted. Swallowing hard, she turned her eyes toward the ceiling, as she felt a fresh wave of tears tingle in her eyes. "I did that with Archie, of my own free will. No-one was controlling me. No-one told me what to do. No-one forced me into it. And I am so ashamed of myself. But I had nowhere else to turn. No-one left and I needed...I needed to feel loved to be able to say.." at this point, the curse kicked in and her mouth seemed to clamp shut. Squeezing her eyes tightly, she cried pathetically. There was no way he would ever understand or accept any of this. |
Snape listened to what she had to say, but it wasn't what he was hoping to hear. But, he couldn't deny that she regretted her actions. "Then, what happened just now?" he asked, sounding incredibly tired and worn. |
"I was being punished.." she said, the memory distinctly clear in her throbbing mind. "He, my father, was punishing me. He said that he knew, about what though, I dont know. he said that I disgusted him and then...then.." she coughe da little and sat up, leaning her back against the pillow. "He performed the cruciatus curse on me. I was so distraught from...earlier...that I couldn't even begin to resist it." |
Habitual concern overcoming Snape's inhibitions, he got up and sat next to Marcella on the bed, one leg hanging off the edge, the other bent upon the bed. Placing a hand on her cheek, he turned her face so that she was looking at him. "Are you sure you don't know what it was he was punishing you for? Surely it had to do with something you had recently done. The Dark Lord doesn't delay his punishments," he said. |
"I got the impression, that it had something to do with us. Or what used to be us. Ironic how that is...punished for something that is no more, because I ruined it...." she sighed, removing his hand from her face, even though all she really wanted was to wrap her arms around him and bury her teary face into his body. |
Snape rose from the bed and walked away a bit. He didn't know what else there was left to say. Walking over to the door and looked out into the corridor, trying to see if Poppy was coming back yet. "I wonder what's taking them so long," he thought out loud. |
"Thanks for caring.." she mumbled under her breath, watching him rise. One minute he had been so compassionate, the next he had moved as far away from her as possible and seemed not to care anymore about her pain or her suffering. |
Snape picked up on her thoughts and sighed. Did she even know how hard it was for a part of him not to take her in his arms as he once would have done? Did she even consider that he still suffered physical and emotional pain as well? Did she even realize that he had only just escaped from the grip of the dementors not several hours ago? "I do care about your pain and suffering. But, do you just expect me to forget what I saw?" he said from the doorway. |
Not realising what she were saying, she replied, "No, no I dont. I dont expect you to ever forgive me." she looked down at her fingers and began playing with the fraying ends on the blanket. "I guess, I was just clinging onto something that wasn't ever there." |
What was she talking about? Was she accusing him of never having loved her? Snape walked angrily back to the bed and glared down at Marcella. "What was never there?" he asked. |
She stared him defiantly in the eyes, she refused to let him weaken her, this time. "Real love lasts forever." |
"And you think I don't still love you?" he asked. "I wasn't the one seeking love with another, if you recall." |
"I wasn't looking for love. I knew archie loved me and that's why I used him. But never did I once, or ever have, loved him. You dont understand and I cant expect you to." she sighed, running a hand along her forehead and leaning back on her pillow weakly. She felt suddenly cold and felt more and more energy drain from her body. Lying back down in the bed, she mumbled, "I cant argue, not now, I feel too weak." |
Deciding that showing a bit more compassion would prove to her that he still loved her, Snape pulled her blanket up and sat beside her on the bed once more. Why he thought he needed her to know he still loved her when he was trying desperately not to, was beyond him. "No, I don't understand..." he said and put a hand to her forehead. "Madame Pomfrey should be back shortly." |
Reaching her hand up to his, she tried to let the anger ebb away. She was so frustrated, beyond comprehension, that she couldn't coherrently explain to him exactly why she did what she did. "If it's any conselation, I hated every minute of being with him. Knowing I didn't love him and that he thought I did and that he loved me. And knowing that one day, you'd probably find out and it'd kill you if you did. Knowing you'd never take me back if I did what I had to do, or what I thought I had to do. Having the knowledge, that in my heart, I still loved you and I missed you terribly. That I spent every night crying myself to sleep because I missed you so much and I was going through so much pain and no-one knew..." She stopped then, taking a hand to her mouth and cupping it as more tears slinked their way onto the back of her hand, the curse preventing her from going any further. |
Snape couldn't bear it any longer. The pain in her voice, the tears streaming down her pale cheeks, his love for her, despite what he'd seen, pushed back his anger and triggered his compassion. Taking her in his arms, he hushed her and wondered if he'd ever be able to let her go again. |
In a distraght state, she were shocked beyond expression, when he took her in his arms. Not muttering a word in argument, she slipped her arms around him, under his robe and held him tightly, leaning her face on the crook between his neck and shoulder. Sniffing, coughing, she ran an absent finger down the length of his arm and tried to calm her breathing as she did so. Although he did not smell the same as he once did, the warm feeling that aroused inside her whenever he held her, welcomed her back as did his arms. Holding on tightly, not wanting to let go, she were convinced she would not be able to remove herself from him, as she wiped at her eyes and looked up at him, thinking she surely looked a right mess, to him. |
Snape pushed her hair back and then rested his forehead on hers, closing his eyes. Opening them again, he looked down in her eyes and wished he could take away the pain he saw there. But, remembering what some of that pain was from, he pulled away from her a little and sighed. This was what always happened. He'd be unwillingly drawn to her by some unknown force within himself and then, he's lose himself. Only to regret his actions later. He knew he should be angry and he shouldn't even be in this room yet still he stayed and he had not pulled away completely. |
She watched carefully as he rested his head on hers and closed her eyews in response, breathing heavily, feeling plenty calm and rested now that she were in his temporary embrace. As he pulled away a little, she frowned and looked up at him, her eyebrows furrowed, her eyes narrowed. She caught onto his train of thought and raised a steady, unthreatening hand to the side of his face. Playing with a bit of his hair, around by the ear, she seemed to concentrate her sight on that instead of his face. Her finger slipping, the grasp falling from the hair, she looked down briefly, before reaching up gently, without her hands and placing one soft, swift, sweet kiss on his palid cheek. |
Snape closed his eyes as Marcella's lips brushed his cheek. When he opened them, she was staring up at him with an expression which melted him. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly before placing a hand behind her head kissing her as he would have when he first saw her today if circumstances had been different. |
Her kiss was only meant to have been an apology, but it seemed to have had a very different affect on the man currently holding her. Within seconds of having removed her lips from his cheek, she felt his surprisingly warm hand slide behind her neck and pull their lips together in a rather desparate manner. Knowing he would most likely regret this, she ignored those feelings and took a hand to his shoulder, moving her lips adjacent to his, bringing them together. despite the romantic image she wanted in her mind, she couldn't shake the fact that his kiss lacked something that they had previously had. Desparately trying to cling to what they used to have, she tightened her grip on his shoulder and scrummaged from under the blankets. Sitting on top of the covers, directly in front of him, she slid onto his lap slightly, as she took the hand that was preiously on his shoulder, to the side of his face and deepened the kiss. Taking his other hand, she placed it around her waist forcefully, wanting nothing more than to be held. |
A cold breeze swept through the air making Archie shiver. Wrapping his cloak tightly around him he went back inside the castle, closing the oak front doors behind him with a echoing thud. He gathered Marcella and Snape would still be talking and it wouldn't be wise to go back. He decided to wander around the castle. He trudged up the third floor corridor thinking about what would happen now Snape was back. |
Snape was surprised and even a little confused when Marcella moved her lips from his. But, she soon made it clear that it wasn't just his kiss that she desired. As she slid closer to him and forced his arm about her waist as she deepened their kiss, Snape felt something kindle inside him. He wrapped his arms tighter around her, pulling her closer, so that she was now completely in his lap. He enveloped her and wanting nothing more than to surround her and protect her from whatever it was that was weighing so heavily upon her mind. Whatever it was, even in her distressed state when she was leaking her thoughts and emotions, she kept carefully hidden. |
"I'm sorry..." she finally stuttered, pulling away from his lips, resting ehr head solely upon his shoulder. "I'm sorry....for what you saw earlier....I'm sorry for having done it...I'm sorry for lacking in faith and giving up on you....and I'm sorry for kissing you, when I shouldn't have. It was only rebuilding false hopes that you may still want me or need me, as much I need you..." she sighed, leaning her face on his shoulder bone heavily. "I miss you so much..." she whispered, the pain clear in her voice...."In more ways than you'll probably ever know." |
"I know," he whispered, holding her head to his shoulder, even as she tried to bury herself in it. Snape rubbed his thumb in a soothing motion on her scalp and just held onto Marcella. He found himself suddenly wishing that Madame Pomfrey would take her time and knew, now that he did not wish for the matron's swift return, she was sure to come running through the door at any moment. |
After having explained the situation to the headmaster, she found that he saw no real need to rush to her side. Greatly disturbed by this, she took Kristi by the collar and led the pair of them down to the hospital wing. Turning to the girl, she eyed her over and then said, "You had better stay out here. She is in no state for visitors." Looking toward the headmaster, she bit her lips before opening the doors and nodded toward him for him to walk through the doors first. The way in which the two occupants of the room held one another, seemed to come as no shock to Dumbledore. It did, however, have a small impact on Poppy. "Professor Snape!" she gasped, gushing, raising a palm to her mouth. she made me do it. sorry i interuptted them. *punishes poppy* |
Archie walked up a flight of stairs and walked along it. Half way down he noticed Kristi standing outside the hospital wing,he walked slowly up to her. "Alright?" he asked her in a flat voice."Why're you waiting outside here" Archie asked. |
*dies laughing* Emma that was hilarious- both the post and your little ooc afterwards  Snape looked up at Poppy, but didn't bother moving away from Marcella. She had already seen them and the rumours were flying after their display at the hearing, anyway. "Yes, Madame Pomfrey?" he asked, protectively holding on to Marcella. Kristi looked over at Archie as he approached. Resisting the urge to glare or sneer at him, she turned and looked at the door. "Madame Pomfrey told me to wait out here. Aparently, Marcella is in no state for visitors. Of course, that doesn't prevent Dumbledore or Snape from being in there," she replied, angrily. |
Recovered from her embarassed state, she rushed over to the pair of them and peeled the girl from him. Laying her back down, she encouraged her to slide beneath the covers and placed the reluctant girl's head back on the pillow. "She really does need her rest." she said, almost as if she were scolding the man. Folding the curtains around the bed, she nodded toward Dumbledore and asked, "Well, what should we do?" I am afraid, you are DD once more Kris. Sowwie. |
Dumbledore watched as Poppy pulled the reluctant Severus and Marcella from one another and put Marcella back to bed while shooing Severus off to the side. Dumbledore approached the bed and began his own examination of his god-daughter. Frowning, he looked at Marcella from over the top of his glasses and asked, "I need you to tell me what happened." |
"Really now, Profesor Dumbledore!" scolded Poppy, coming back into the room with a mug of tea for Marcella. "She's in no fit state to be questioned! She needs her rest." She looked over appreciatively at the woman and sighed, "Thanks, but I'm alright." turning to her god-father, a hand across her head, she sighed, "But I really cant remember much...the pain seemes to be covering it up..." |
Dumbledore couldn't help but smile at Poppy's fussing and scolding. The smile faded a bit as Marcella spoke. "Yes, yes, I understand. But, anything at all that you remember would be most helpful," he said, gently, placing a hand on Marcella's arm. Snape shifted where he stood beside the bed. His arms folded across his chest, he kept his eyes on Marcella and hoped Dumbledore would be able to get to the bottom of this soon. |
:shifty: We like the new avvy, it pleases us...lol Raising a hand to her strained head, she furrowed her eyebrows and closed her eyes, trying to replay the memory in her mind. "He spoke to me...he put me under the cruciatus curse, I know that for sure. I've been able to fight it off before, but I couldn't this time because....because.." she took one side glance toward Snape, before leaning her head on the pillow in the opposite direction and muttered, "Because I was too distraught." Poppy jumped to her side as soon as she saw the girl start to struggle with her words. Placing her hand down, she dabbed a damp flannel over the burning forehead of the girl and turned to the two men. "Do we really have to do this now? The pain is still fresh, she's not recovered." i think he should persist :shifty: |
I dedicate this, my 10,000th post to Emma and Snape. ^_^ Oh, and even though it's Dumbledore's turn, I couldn't let him have this post; so you're stuck with Snape. :P Snape moved over to the other side of the bed where Madame Pomfrey stood, entreating Dumbledore and himself with her expression. He took her by the arm and led her off into her office with a nod to Dumbledore. As much as he wished to stay by Marcella's side, he knew that Dumbledore wouldn't be able to get to the bottom of this mess with Poppy breathing down his neck, attempting to shoo them from the room. "The sooner we find out what is wrong, Poppy, the sooner we will be able to prevent this from happening again," he sneered, appealing to the protective instincts of the woman, before shutting the office door behind them. |
She reluctantly allowed herself to be ushered into her office by the heavy handed Professor. Pulling her arm from his grasp, she set about folding some sheets which laid piled upon a dresser to the side of the desk. She didn't know exactly what to say to him and wasn't quite sure how to look at him, so she refrained from doing it. Shuffling papers around, she sighed and commented, "Did it ever cross your mind that that....this, is extrememly inappropriate?" she asked, vaguely. |
Snape stood with his arms crossed, staring out the office window at Dumbledore and Marcella. He sneered at Madame Pomfrey's words. He was going to defend himself, but settled on turning around and glaring at her, instead. Dumbledore took a seat beside the bed as Severus guiding Poppy away. "Now, I'm only trying to help, Marcella. I want you to know, that though I am an old man, you can confide in me," he spoke, gently. "Anything at all, that you wish to tell me." |
A hundred things flashed through her mind. There was so much she wanted to tell him, but so little she actually could say. Settling for the simplest thing, she sighed, "After the curse, or while it was occuring, I cant really say for sure, he said something to me. He said it was a punishment, I disgusted him. When it ended, he said that it would not be all, that when his servant did something, I'd be punished fully....that's all I can remember..." she said, holding her head in her hands and groaning. |
Dumbledore stood and laid a hand on Marcella's arm. "Thank you, Marcella," he said. "I'll send Madame Pomfrey back in and you rest up." With that, Dumbledore walked into the office, released Popppy to take care of her patient and closed the door; locking Severus inside with him. He held up a hand as Severus began to speak. "I understand that you and Marcella share certain feelings for one another. While I do not think it wise nor do I understand it; I have no power to prevent it, nor would I care to. However, I cannot emphasize enough, that you should exercise more caution in your displays of affection," Dumbledore said, speaking to Severus as if he were a student again. "Now, Marcella has told me some interesting things. It was mostly what you had already explained to me earlier, but there was something.... She spoke of a servant who was to do something. Have you any idea who this servant is?" he asked. Snape lowered his head as the Headmaster chidded him for his inappropriate behaviour. He wouldn't have been so contrite if he hadn't been deriding himself for the same thing. There were many reasons why he should not have done what he had done, and the risk of students and staff memebers seeing him should have been enough to prevent him from doing it. he would be sure to restrain himself in the future. Snape looked up and narrowed his eyes in concentration when Dumbledore asked him about the servant. Darrin was the first name that came to mind whenever he thought of harm coming to Marcella, but he wasn't a servant of the Dark Lord's, even if he were still alive. That left.... "Mr. Terabel," he sneered. |
Her god-father having left her, she were hoping for some peace. that hope was crushed when Madam Pomfrey returned and continued to faff over her, repeatedly taking her temperature and consitantly forcing brews down her neck. So, at the next oppurtunity she got, she laid her head on the pillow and closed her eyes, feigning sleep that turned out to be real. |
Dumbeldore nodded his head although, he knew Severus had always been biased against the boy. "I think, perhaps, we should all get some rest," he said, opening the door and blocking Severus, in case he thought to move toward Marcella. Snape nodded in agreement with Dumbeldore. He hadn't really noticed how utterly enhausted he was until the headmaster had mentioned getting rest. Walking back down to the dungeons, he failed to notice Kristi and Archie talking in the corridor outside the Hospital Wing. The bed had been remade and laid on top of it, hands behind his head. He thought sleep would come quickly, but it didn't. Instead his mind refused to be quite and he brooded over his actions in the Hospital Wing. Not only was it inappropriate behaviour, but he had completely forgotten about what she had done. And she hadn't even given him an explanation. |
The fresh early morning sun, barging it's way through the stained glass windows, would've woken Marcella abruptly, had she slept at all that night. But she hadn't. She had spent most of the dark, chilly night tossing and turning, grappling at the sheets, freezing not only from the temperature of the room, but the overbearing coldness in her heart and mind. And when she had managed to sleep, it was only to be disrupted by flashbacks, searing flickers of pain and blurred images of her father's face as he spoke to her in her mind. So, sitting up in a cold sweat, she, for the first time in a while, forgot to curse the sun in an attempt to make a morning gesture and instead, grumbled as Madam Pomfrey scolded her for trying to get out of bed. This woman didn't understand. She needed to know. She needed to see whether yesterday wasn't just a dream. Had he forgiven her? He most certainly would not have forgotten and neither had she. Although she wished she could. Making a promise to herself, that she would try and express to him, in any way possible, what she had been through, she slid out from under the covers when Poppy took off to briefly visit the school apothecary. |
Snape looked at the clock on his bedside table again. Perhaps this time it would read a suitable hour to arise. It was still too early for breakfast, but at least the hour was late enough that if he were to draw back the dark, heavy, curtains, the sun would come shining through. He sat up, draped his legs off the side of the bed, and leaned his elbows on his knees as he ran his hands through his greasy black hair. The events of the previous evening were still fresh in his mind, as he had brooded on them throughout the entire night. Sighing, deeply, Snape endevoured to get up and make the most of the day. He'd start off with a private breakfast in his quarters, followed by reorganizing his office and taking an inventory of his potions stores (he hoped Kristi had managed to keep those in order while he was gone). He'd also take his lunch and dinner in his quarters, so that he might delay the moment when he'd have to see Marcella again. Hopefully, he could delay that confrontation long enough to decide what he was going to do about her. |
Re-making the bed precisely, she took advantage of this unnecessary chore in order to set her mind straight. She was in no doubt that he would most likely welcome her and would probably be open and ready to listen to all she had to say. After all, why wouldn't he? (ooc- ironic, I know lol) Scooping her hair up into a tight pony tail, she squirmed as her hairbrush drove along the scalp, where she had been bleeding severely the previous day. The nurse had gone to great lengths to see to it that she would be in as little pain, as it was necessary, but she could do nothing about the dull ache and sore feeling that the aftermath of the wound provided. Having tidied her appearance, she changed her clothes with a flick of her wand, feeling too exhausted to trek over to her room and change her clothes the muggle way. |
His clothes hadn't gotten much wear last night, aside from getting wet, so he wasn't going to bother changing. He had no problems wearing rumpled robes around his own rooms. Snape had sent down to the kitchens for some food and wasn't sure why he was surprised when the house elves delivered enough food to feed a dozen people. He'd have to remember to order more specifically for lunch and dinner. He sat down in his favorite chair and wondered if he should ask Kristi to join him as there was more than enough food to share. However, Snape felt he could use some more quiet time to himself. For even though he had spent the better part of the last few months alone in Azkaban, the effect the dementors had upon his mind made the experience anything but quiet. |
Taking one final glance in one of the narrow mirrors, she straightened her clothes and took a short sharp ominous breath. "Here goes nothing.." she mumbled to herself, attempting to shake negative thoughts from her head. Nothing my backside, however well or badly this explanation goes, will affect the rest of your life, and you know it, her mind told her. Silencing it with a swear under her breath, she steadily held onto the wall as she walked, a distant thudding in her head, reminding her that she was really nowehere near recovered and would give Poppy a heart attack if she caught her out of bed. It was that thought, and that thought only, that forced her to quicken her pace and quickly skip down to the steps leading downward toward the dingy dungeons. The walls and stair bannisters were slippery, but her grasp was sturdy enough to keep her wavering balance as her eyesight blurred variably. Standing still, leaning against the wall briefly, she moaned and saw how little progress she had made. Her eyes flickered toward the wing, if she ran, she could go back and get more rest, she definitely needed it. Then her eyes flashed back down the hallway and she took one more breath before heading onward, knowing if she didn't do this, she would never know. It had to be done and there was no sense in delaying addressing the matter. |
Snape leaned back in the chair sipping his second cup of black coffee after having eaten his fill of the spread before him. It didn't even look as though he had touched a thing. As much as he tried to think of other things, his thoughts always returned to Marcella and what he was going to do. His heart was pulling him in one direction, his jealousy and anger in another, and then, there was his logic which told him that, though it may not be for all the right reasons, his anger had the right idea. |
It was with a light head and unclear vision, that Marce lifted her dainty wrist to knock upon the door. A second or so before her fist made contact with the wood, she brought her hand back down toward her face, frowning. Since when had she become so small, so frail, so weak? Hating what had become of her and knowing this only served as further proof of the words she were about to speak, she rapped on the door hurriedly, breathing quickly, she folded her tiny arms across her front and waited for a reply. If he would give one. |
Snape heard a faint knocking on his door and sighed, debating whether or not he should bother to answer as he didn't recognize the knock as coming from either the Headmaster or Kristi. However, in the end, he placed his cup on the table and slowly made his way to the door. He undid the lock, turned the knob, and the door creaked steadily open to reveal the one person he was trying desperately to avoid today. |
The look on his face gave her a small inclination that he might consider not letting her in at all. So, she held up her pathetic hand to the door and pushed her way in, managing to sneak under his arm and duck through the doorway. Folding her dainty arms once more, she frowned and nodded toward the door. "Aren't you going to close it then? Or do you want to make your affections even more public?" |
Snape sneered at Marcella and closed the door. He should have known that he would not be able to avoid Marcella for long, although he had hoped Poppy would have kept her in the Hospital Wing a bit longer. Taking in her appearance for the first time, he saw that perhaps the nurse hadn't let the girl out after all. "Are you not supposed to be resting in the Hospital Wing?" he asked. |
"Perhaps..." she said, scathingly. "Maybe I still would've been if someone had thought to visit me." she said, removing her robe from her body and laying it on the bed, but not taking her eyes from him. She was painfully aware of how small she had become, had painstakingly thin her form had shrunken down to, but in his prescence, she could care alot less about it. Walking forward, toward him, eyebrows furrowed because he hadn't moved toward her at all, she made to place her arms around him and leaned upward, almost as if to kiss his cheek, but herlips not quite making it there before she felt a hand on her. |
Snape remained at the door, facing the interior of the room and watching Marcella's movements. As she came toward him and made as if to kiss him, he placed a hand on her shoulder, holding her back. "It isn't right, Marcella," he whispered, surprising himself that he was almost unable to force the words from his throat. "Despite my injudicious actions in the Hospital Wing, I have not forgotten what happened yesterday." |
"I didn't propose to think you had. Sorry for the confusion." she added, taking a step or two back, her eyes not knowing quite where to look, she felt a little lost. Very lost. She had not been expecting this. turning, she picked her robe back up and put it back on, as if to leave. Then the next second, she took it back off and laid it exactly where it had been before. Cupping her two hands over her mouth, she closed her eyes tightly, briefly and shook her head shortly. "Sorry." she gasped. "I need to get a grasp on my emotions, I think." |
"That would be a most wise decision," Snape replied, coldly. He walked back over to his chair and sat down as he retrieved his cup of coffee. No sense letting it go to waste, simply because his quite breakfast had been interrupted by an unexpected visitor. Besides, these simple gestures helped to distance himself from the situation which could serve to possibly prevent him from doing anything else he'd come to regret. |
Confused, she sat down and for a couple of minutes, fell silent. Her forehead in her one hand, the elbow of that hand balanced on her crossed legs, she sat on the bed, in quiet thought. Gently, slowly, she looked up, a pain looked in her eyes, a clear flash of hurt, "Why are you so cold? I dont understand. I mean, what abouy yesterday..." |
