Snape cleared his throat, inwardly shaking himself out of his thoughts. "Let's go in," he said before walking over to the door and holdin git open for Marcella. |
Settling inside the small, but cosy restaurant, she quickly ushered away the impatient looking waiter and sat across from Severus, crossing her right leg over the left. |
Kristi quietly shut the door as she saw Snape and Marcella turn and walk away. She smiled and leant upon the door, wishing with all her heart that the two of them would be able to make ammends and enjoy each other's company. Sighing, she walked over to her bed and flopped down on her stomach. What was she going to do now? She could try and get some studying in but, somehow, Kristi didn't think she'd be able to concentrate. Her mind was still preoccupied with everything her father had told her. Darrin... He hadn't been dead, after all. Or, at least, not completely. She wished there was something she could have done to prevent all this. Perhaps if she hadn't left him sleeping that morning, if she had stayed by his side. You protect me. You push me further from Him, Kristi. Kristi shook her head and flipped over so that she was staring at the ceiling. It didn't do anyone any good to dwell on the past. What was done is done. Now was the time to move forward; the time to figure out a way to keep Snape out of Azkaban. |
Snape surveyed the small restaurant before settling his gaze on Marcella, seated across from him. What was she thinking? Would she finally explain about the potion? He wanted to ask her but, decided she would tell him in her own time and no amount of questioning would help. In fact, he was sure she'd draw this out even further if he did, just to irritate him. |
Reading his thoughts, not through legilimens, but through his eyes, she snuck her hand inside her robe and pulled out an emerald miniature phial, with the smallest droplet of liquid inside it. Placing it on the table, not caring who saw it as it didn't look the least suspicious, she nodded toward it, hinting for him to pick it up. |
He reached across the table and picked up the small phial. He held it between his thumb and forefinger and stared at the tiny droplet of liquid inside. After studying it for a few moments, he lowered his hand, cradling the phial in his palm and gave Marcella a questioning look. |
"That's it," she said, simply enough, folding her arms across her chest so that her elegantly long and pointed sleeves cascaded down her forearms. "There's not much in there purposely because, well, there's hardly any point brewing much more without knowing whether it works or not." |
"How does it work? And how do you propse to test it?" he asked. Well established potions could be tricky enough to get right, messing about with your own experiments or ancient potions could be risky. She didn't expect him to be her guinea pig, did she? |
"I'm the guinea pig," she said, reading his mind. "After your first ordeal in Azkaban I was determined to devise a potion that would prevent the dementors from weakening you, if you ever had to go back. Dont ask me how or why I knew you would have to go back because sincerely I do not know. I know you'll probably scold me for doing so, but I briefly used it on myself after Darrin had begun his attacks on me. I knew all along what resided within him and, I reasoned if it allowed me to keep some form of sanity, control over myself, around Darrin who was posessed, then surely it should work on dementors too. Although, of that, I cannot be certain." |
Snape looked down at the phial resting in his palm. "So, you've already tested it, I gather that is why you were able to..." he left the sentence hanging, not wanting to bring up that unfortunate incident again. "How long does it last and what dosage does it need to be taken in?" He couldn't believe he was doing this. He deserved whatever punishment he got and here he was, attempting to get out of it. Well, self preservation tended to be a trait among Slytherins. The fact that he thought he should feel guilty about excaping punishment was only a sign that he had been hanging around Dumbledore and the Gryffindors in the Order for far too long. |
"Now that I'm not sure of. You see, being rather too keen to have it work, I didn't really take measurements. I just sort of took it until I felt able to sustain a complete grasp on myself. I know it was dangerous, but well, stupid people do stupid things. Or perhaps maybe that's the Gryffindor in me. Blind courage." she mumbled, giving a pathetic laugh at herself, sipping a pumpkin juice the waiter had just brought over. |
Snape leaned back in his chair and folded his arms across his chest, staring straight ahead of him, seemingly looking through Marcella. It had been a foolish thing for her to do but, he now understood that it was just the way she was so, he remained surprisingly silent about it. Instead, he thought upon the possibilities. How would they smuggle the potion inside without notice and would it really work against dementors? |
"I always intended it to work against dementors. Not as a long term solution of course, as with most potions the body can become too lenient upon them after time and it may eventually start to have no effect at all. But we need some way of keeping you sane in mind whilst Kristi and I try to find another way to get you out." she sighed, lifting her fork as she smiled and thanked the person who had just brought over their food. |
"I don't think there will be anything you can do this time, Marcella," he said, looking down at his plate. He placed the phial on the table between them before picking up his own fork. He concentrated on his food, hoping to distract himself from the thoughts of Azkaban. He simply wanted to spend time with Marcella away from everything but, he supposed they would never truly be able to forget about what lay ahead of them. |
Placing her fork down quietly, she lifted a finger and pushed the phial nearer to him, before sealing eye contact with him for a second and then going back to her meal. Chewing slowly, she asked quietly, "So, are you going to try it or not?" |
He took a deep breath and stretched out his hand, picking up the phial between his thumb and forefinger. He looked at it then, back at Marcella and decided to just go ahead. He opened it up and drank the small drop. |
Sniggering into the back of her hand, she held her head down and suddenly became rather suspiciously interested in examining her food. |
Too late. Whatever it was, it was too late to take it back. He had been suspicious all along but, trying desperately not to spoil the evening so early with an inevidible argument, he had fallen into whatever trap Marcella had set for him. "What is it?" he sneered, as Marcella tried too hard to appear innocent. |
"Nothing," she said, wiping her hands as she had accidentally spluttered over them. "It's just, unless you plan on walking into a dementor sometime soon, taking it now is completely pointless." |
Snape placed his fork on his plate and sighed deeply as he put his elbows on the table and his face in his hands. He was tired and frustrated. He was trying so hard to be open, honest, and to prevent another argument but, here she sat, not helping in the least. |
Concerned that he seemed distressed, worried, aggravated, she continued to eat whilst subtly moving her leg forward, attempting to tenderly smooth the side of his with her foot. "I didn't mean it like that. It was intended to be a joke. Well, not the potion, but you know what I mean. I'm sorry if you feel like I deliberately tried to make you look foolish. I dont think I'd ever dare do that!" |
He looked up and smiled at her last comment, his foot moving to entwine his leg with Marcella's, acknowledging her apology. Then, Snape picked up his fork and took another bite of his meal. |
A thrilling sensation arose up through her leg and gave her a small head rush as she felt their bodies connect. Trying hard not to blush, she continued to look at her food and mumbled, "So are you willing to try the potion then?" |
"I should think that was obvious," Snape said with a small laugh before switching back to a more serious expression. "Yes, I am willing to try it. But, how do you plan on getting it in with me?" |
"I would of thought, that it being me, you would've already deducted that I hadn't thought of that," she commented, uneasily. "I trust you'll find a way." she said, with a small wink. |
Snape sighed and looked down at his plate. He hadn't eaten much and should probably get moving on it if he wanted to eat while it was still warm. He used this opportunity to think about how in the world he'd be able to sneak even a small phial past the guards. |
She took his silence to mean he was in deep thought and, respecting that she too remained quiet and only every so often raised her eyes to look at him. |
After several minutes of silence while he finished his meal, Snape leant back in his chair, took a sip of wine, and looked at Marcella. "I do see how I would be able to get it in on my person. It will be easier if I can take the potion before I hand myself over and hope that it will last long enough for someone to smuggle another dose in at some point," he said, frowning. "But, that would require constant visitation for the rest of my life and there are several problems with that scenario. One, we don't know if they will even allow me visitors. Two, we don't know if the visitors will be able to sneak the potion past the guards. Three, we dont' know how often the potion needs to be consumed...." |
Laying her fork down quietly, she frowned for a few seconds and then began to speak, "Assuming that potion works, then it should be easy, or should I say, simple to concentrate the ingredients in order to maintain a stronger dose in a smaller amount of liquid. I honestly dont know how long it would last, but I surely cant see why they would deny you visitation rights when Bartemius Crouch, who'd murdered many people, was allowed visits from his father. Lord knows you're a much better person than he was.." she sighed, running a stressed finger through the piece of hair dangling in front of her eyes. "All that remains is to decide how I am to sneak it in. Although, I have heard dementors aren't the cleverest of creatures, so a simple invisibility charm should do it." |
"That's assuming they won't have wizards available to search you before they let you in. But, I'm sure you'll think of something," he sighed then, changing topics. "Have you arranged for dessert?" |
Raising an eyebrow questioningly, she seemed to approve and replied, a small blush creeping onto her cheeks, "You trust me to find a way? That's awfully amiable of you..." In response to his question, she shook her head, "I arranged everything else, I trust you can arrange something simple such as dessert." |
Snape motioned the waiter over and ordered a couple of slices of grasshopper pie before turning back to Marcella. "As determined as you are, you should be more than capable of finding a way to sneak the potion inside," he said. ooc: do you guys even have grasshopper pie over there? hmmm... I wonder what wizarding grasshopper pie would be like... |
Smiling, she took the pie gratefully and began smothering liberal amounts of jam over it. Looking up, licking the spoon which she had used, she nodded her head in a quirky manner, "I'm just shocked that you seem to trust me with something as important as that. There was a time when you didn't trust me at all." No, we dont  |
ooc:  I can tell you don't. That was really disgusting, Emma. "I admit that I probably gave you less credit than you deserve," he said, poking at his pie rather than eating it. "And, it really isn't that important. You should be more shocked that I agreed to taking th epotion at all." |
"Shocked is an understatement," she said, finally eating some of the pie, crunching her way through it. "You really gave me a surprise when you drank it here. The way you are, I thought you'd be a little more careful about being seen doing anything, well, dodgy." she smirked, knowing what she had said, what with her being sat across from him, her leg entwined with his, was completely ironic. |
"I think I've gone well past dodgey," Snape smirked. "Besides, what are they going to do? Throw me in Azkaban? It's going to happen eventually so, I might as well... live it up alittle, so to speak." What was in this wine, anyway? Live it up a little? When had he become this carefree fool? Shrugging inwardly to himself, he decided he was merely fulfilling his promise to himself to attempt to be uninhibited, open, and honest, with Marcella for at least this one night. |
"Oooh.." she said, smirking back at him, the edge of the goblet between her lips. "Can I take that to mean that I am, in some way, classy? After all, if you're living it up in my company..." she chuckled, licking her lips, smiling, baring all teeth, feeling completely carefree for a few swift moments. |
"Certainly more classy than I am," he said, gesturing toward her clothins and then, to his. "As if I would ever chose to wear something like this. And you... Well... I've never been one for compliments, giving nor receiving, so I'm finding it rather difficult to express how you look." ooc: I really can't believe he said that. How much wine has he had, now? |
ooc - too much me thinks "Are you sure you're quite drunk enough for that sort of talk?" she giggled, trying to remain somewhat serious but failing miserably. Glancing down at her robes, she blushed slightly and said, "I look nowhere near as good as you do. You really should wear black a little less. Although I cant deny that the colour, if black is a colour, does make you seem sort of attractive, in a dark and mysterious sort of fashion." Not quite believing what she had said, she started to wonder if she had drunk too much. |
ooc: I think I like drunk Snape and Marcella. They are actually being fun in an ooc kinda way. Snape picked up his goblet. "I've still got some left so, perhaps not," he smiled, draining the last of the wine. He put it down and looked at Marcella. "But, with that kind of talk, I'm beginning to suspect you of having drunk too far too much: attractive..." he laughed. |
"And to think," she said, before draining her goblet and placing it rather noisily on the table, "You allowed me to drink so much!" She laughed for a little, knowing she was fully in control of herself and then added, "If I did not find you attractive in the beginning, then why would I have wanted to have been with you?" |
"I thought it might have something to do with my glowing personality," he joked but, as he thought about it, he really wasn't sure what could have attracted her to him. Shaking his head, Snape looked down at the empty plates, goblets and wine bottle. "I think we've finished with dinner." |
"Great deduction Sherlock." she commented, rising from her chair, leaving a scattered pile of Galleons on the table. Looking at the empty plates and then the seemingly satisfied Snape, she smiled, not remembering when she had, or if she had ever, seen him this loose, this happy, this carefree. "Your personality does glow," she affirmed, "Just in a different way to most." |
Snape rose wtih Marcella and moved stand in front of her. "So, where are you whisking me off to now?" he asked, proud that he had managed to maintain a lighthearted conversation and shocked that he was actually enjoying himself. |
Wrapping her travelling robe back around her shoulders, she observed it was a pity that she need where it, she didn't like hiding the robes she'd especially kept for an ocassion such as this. Slipping an arm around his waist, she snuggled closer and replied, "I think that dessert may have fattened you ever so slightly. Care for a walk?" |
It was a pity she had to cover her beautiful robes with a dusty travelling cloak. It served to remind him of the events which had taken place and that Marcella was still recovering from the injuries she had obtained. Snape put his arm around her shoulders as she snuggled against him and attempted to recover his more cheerful mood by chuckling at her little jest. Not quite acheiving the effect he wanted, he gave up forcing himself to be cheerful and began to walk out of the small restaurant with Marcella and answering with a softly spoken, "Alright." |
With a sharp ear and a quick mind, she speedily picked up on the change in his voice. Making her way out of the door, she became delighted when she saw that the rain had ceased and, just beyind the horizon, the sun was beginning to lower. She took her robe off once more and asked, "Whatever's the matter?" |
"Nothing. Perhaps I haven't had enough to drink after all," he said, a small smile making its way to his lips. "You must be feeling a bit better," he observed as he saw Marcella walk, though a bit unsteadily, without the use of a crutch. "Where are we off to?" |
Her eyes narrowed still in concern, as she was sure she could still hear something amiss in his voice, she replied, "Does one usually have a destination in mind when one plans to go for a stroll?" |
"I suppose not," he admitted, looking away from Marcella and toward the setting sun. "Though rarely does my strolling take place out of doors or not involve finding students out past curfew for a late night rendezvous." |
"Isn't that exactly what we're doing?" she said, taking his arm and folding hers inside it. "We're out past general student curfew and we seem to be having a late night rendezvous. All that's missing is some suspicious behaviour and we'd be the perfect couple for you to catch out. That's if you weren't involved in the couple." she said, trailing off at the end, not sure she was entirely making any sense. |
"Well, neither of us are students and we aren't in the corridors," Snape said. "But, we are strolling about like lovers out for a late night rendezvous... Should I give us detentions?" |
"Perhaps.." she mused, not sure where this were going. "But that would mean having to go back to the castle and then separate. I'm sure the Professor would never stick two culprits in the same room for a detention of that sort." |
"Actually, I usually do. But, they have to sit on opposite ends of the room," he said wondering what on earth they were talking about. Never one to make small talk, this inane babble was beginning to grate on his nerves. He watched as the sun began to sink lower in the sky and the streetlamps of Hogsmeade slowly flickered to life. |
Chuckling to herself, although it did not sound like a happy chuckle, she realised, "We're talking about anything just to distract ourselves from what we know is coming." |
Snape looked at Marcella and nodded. "One can only avoid the inevitable for so long. Though, I had hoped to at least make it through this one night without dwelling on the fact that we won't have the opportunity to be alone together again," he said, glancing around and wondering if they really were alone even now for surely Moody had caught up with them by now. |
She only half listened to him as she swiftly moved toward a nearby flower patch, that was placed at the start of a path. Bending down, she attempted to snap a navy blue velvety rose from it's stem. Only just about managing, she cursed aloud as one of the thorns tore into her finger and broke the skin. Instinctively, she brought the finger tip her mouth and sucked on it, the flower in the other hand, her eyes prickled with tears, a wince on her face due to the taste of the metallic blood. |
Snape rushed over to Marcella at the sound of her cursing. He pulled her hand away from her mouth and wrapped her finger in a hankerchief he had pulled from his robes. He looked at her in concern. "You shouldn't do that," he scolded. |
"I can do whatever I want." she said, looking at him firmly, secretly ejoying the feeling of him holding her finger. Taking the delicate rose, she snuck it inside the pocket in his robe and smiled, ""And I did do what I wanted." |
"I don't care if you pick flowers," he sighed, casting a wary glance at the flower now stuck in his pocket. "But, you shouldn't go sticking your cuts in your mouth. You never know what you could be contaminating yourself with." |
She didn't know whether it was the blood or the tone in his voice, but it suddenly made her feel bitter and resentful for no apparent reason. "So, not because you really care then? just because I could end up doing myself some damage? I dont see why that matters anymore.." |
Snape looked at her and tried to figure out what had just happened. "I care that you could end up doing yourself damage and it does still matter," he said, taking her other hand. |
"How can it when you're not going to be here?" she asked, staring sullen at the hand that held hers, stroking it with the topmost tips of her fingers. |
"It matters because not only are you important to the cause for which I've been fighting for but, I'd rest easier knowing you were, if not safe, at least taking care of yourself." |
"How can I take care of myself when I dont even recognise what's best for me, the majority of the time? I've grown accustomed to you doing that for me." She did wonder why she was demeaning what he meant to her and thus, slid her fingers so that they entwined with his and murmered, "I need you." while squeezing his fist tight. |
Snape took Marcella in his arms and pulled her into a hug, cradling the back of her head with one of his hands, his other hand, at his side, fingers still entwined with hers. Kissing the top of her head, he whispered, "You don't need me; you only think you do because you haven't had a chance to stand on your own two feet, yet." |
"I've stood on my own two feet all my life, as you put it. I've been on my own for what seems like forever and I dont like it. It's not right. I dont want to have to be alone." |
Inclining his head, Snape hugged her tighter, Marcella's words striking something deep within him. He wanted to speak words of comfort. He wanted to tell her he was staying, that he would always be with her. But, he could not. |
Judging by his silence that he had nothing more to say, although their hands were still entwined, she turned away from him and, tugging lightly as if to indicate that they should leave, whispered, "If that's all you have to say, nothing, then I guess we've got no more to say to each other. We have no more reason to be here," she spoke ominously feeling the tears arise in her voice but not really caring at all. She had gone past caring now, things had gone too far for her to risk not showing her emotions. |
"What could I say to that?" he thought aloud. "I don't wish you to be alone either. But, short of going into hiding, there is nothing I can do to prevent what is to happen." Snape did not want to leave. He did not want their evening to turn this way. How ironic that expressing their feelings of love and need for one another should push them apart. |
Exasperated, confused, lost, she broke her hand away from his and sighed, "Dont look at me expectantly. I dont know what I want you to do neither what you're supposed to do. Why am I the one being expected to be the adult here? The one who always has to accept everything that life throws at her and still keep a false smile on her face. The one who has to sacrifice everything without complaint, never being asked for my own opinion or even of I want any of this?"She knew it was foolish to be shouting at him in this manner; all that had happened to her in the past few years was not his fault and neither could he change any of it. But she needed to say it. |
Snape stared at her as she ranted. When she was finished, he spoke calmly, and surprised himself by encouraging her to continue her emotional outburst. For some unknown reason, something was telling him that this was what Marcella needed right now. "Alright then, what is your opinion? What is it that you want?" he asked, with not even a hint of condescension. |
"I dont know," she sighed, resignedly sitting on a wooden bench that sat adjacent to the flower patch from which she had plucked that fatal rose. "I dont suppose I know because I've never been given the oppurtunity to decide. And, now that I know what I want, I've found I cant have it. The only thing I've ever felt strongly about is ironically the only thing which I should not feel strongly about at all." Wiping her forehead with the tips of her fingers from both hands, she mustered, "Look at me, spoiling this evening. I really shouldn't. I dont suppose I did drink enough alcohol after all..." she muttered, giving a pathetic half chuckle. |
Snape sat down beside Marcella and put arn arm around her. "You aren't spoiling the evening and I don't think either of us had enough to alcohol to drown out all thoughts of the future," he sighed. |
"Then the simple solution would be to drink more..." she said, rather montonously in response, not sounding entirely convinced that that was the answer to their problems. |
"Unfortunately, alcohol is not a solution. Though it may allow you to forget for a night, your problems will still await you in the morning and sometimes you end up with even more than you started with," Snape said. "Our problem is simply that there is no solution to our problem and I think we are both struggling to come to terms with that." |
"I didn't need a smartened up speech, Severus." she replied, dully, "I know what you're saying and I'm alright with that. You dont want me and probably have never wanted me, but I want you to know that I'm okay with that. Just promise me one thing." |
Snape pulling his arm away from her as he shifted in his seat to face Marcella. How could she say that he didn't want her; that he had never wanted her? Did she not realize how she affected him? How a simple touch or even a glance would set him on fire? That it took every ounce of self control to sit here and stay in this place rather than swoop her up and take her with him into hiding somewhere, anywhere? But, he couldn't do that to her, it was no life for such a vibrant, young, beautiful, woman. And besides, he deserved his sentence and owed it to Dumbeldore, who would no doubt find him anyway should he run off, to accept the consequences of his actions. As much as he wanted to tell her all this, Snape knew Marcella would hear none of it. So, he looked into her expectant eyes and responded, "Anything." |
"This may sound petty," she replied, sitting too to face him, her hands in her lap, her eyes only just meeting his, "But I dont want Dumbledore to think he's won. He told me it wouldn't last, that I was foolish to start this, sordid affair, as he called it, with you. He assured me that it would all end in tears hurt and pain. I want to, if just by appearances that are superficial, prove him wrong. I suppose, as odd as it sounds, that I'm asking you to accompany me tommorow to the Easter Ball. Albus thought it a good idea to hold one, he said to try and lift the spirits of the kids before they go home for the holidays. I dont suppose any of them will notice us, they'll be too wrapped up in their own pathetic social lives, but I do know that Dumbledore'll probably be watching every move I make. It's also our last chance to actually be happy." she added, as if this was a closing statement to her argument, seeming almost as if she believed she'd have to convince him before he ever entertained the idea of actually saying yes to her. |
Dumbledore had pretty much told him the same things about their relationship. Though he knew the Headmaster to be right, he also had had fantasies of proving the old man, and himself, wrong. But, it would petty and could even help in further proving him right should he take Marcella and parade her around like some ornament or prize in front of all the students and staff. It would not help in their "getting over" each other should they even pretend to be "an item." However, the idea of attending the Easter Ball at all sickened him but, he knew Albus was forcing him to attend and going with Marcella might just make it bearable. It was for this reason, if any (so he told himself) that he extended his hands, placing them over Marcella's which were folded in her lap and said, "I would be honoured to accompany you, Marcella." |
"You doubted whether you should," she whispered observantly, narrowing her eyes ever so slightly. "Why?" she asked, preparing herself for another emotional onslaught. |
"I merely thought that it might do more harm than good to give our minds false hopes," he said. "Then, remembering that you wished to make your own decisions and deciding I would rather go with you than without you..." |
"Do I detect a compliment hidden somewhere in all that babble?" she asked, smirking. |
"Perhaps," he said, smirking back. |
Kristi had dinner in the Great Hall. She sat alone at the endof the table, closest to the staff table. Every once in a while she'd catch Dumbledore looking at her but, paid it no mind; continuing to eat her meal in silence as she worried that Snape would mess up the romantic evening Kristi hoped he and Marcella could have together. |
Within seconds Marce had nudged further toward him on the bench and, without warning, had snuggled her head into the crook just below his shoulder and above his armpit. Closing her eyes gently, as if it were almost a natural reflex, she sighed contented and placed a soft subtle hand upon his leg, just above the knee. |
Snape covered Marcella's hand with his own and squeezed her a bit with the arm he had around her. Inclining his head toward her, he lightly kissed the top of her head. It was so peaceful for the moment and he wished they could keep it that way for a little while longer. |
Watching the sun sink lower, she realised that with every moment that the area around them grew darker, her heart would sink further and further. Without a shadow of a doubt, she knew this was the last time they would be alone, possibly forever. Could she survive without him, wasn't even a question that could be asked. She'd have to. |
"It's getting dark," he whispered. "We should start heading back or at least, start to think about going inside somewhere." |
Smirking, she tilted her head ever so slightly, so that their eyes met and asked, "Are you suggesting that we dont return tonight? I didn't think you'd even entertain the thought." |
"I must admit that I'm feeling rather.... rebellious," he said. He didn't think he'd entertain such a thought either but, Kristi's words pressed on his mind. If this was to be his last night as a free man... |
"Rebellious?" she murmered, in mock thought, pressing a finger tip to her lips. "That's not at all like you; should one take advantage of this oppurtunity, having been caught in this rare eventuality?" |
He'd actually been rather rebellious in his youth. It hadn't gotten him anywhere except in trouble. However, he was already in as much trouble as a wizard could get so, he wasn't too worried about that. Besides, hadn't Marcella told him she could make her own decisions? "If one wished to take advantage of such a situation then, one probably should, as the opportunity is not likely to present itself again," Snape responded with a smirk. |
Leaning forward, a bemusing smirk on her face, she smiled, "So if one," she whispered, prodding a gentle finger into his chest, "And one.." she smiled, pointing at herself, "Equals two, then does that mean that one and one.." she whispered far quieter, pointing at the both of them again, "Should take advantage of the situation that the two are in, with one another?" She did not know why she had a grin like a chesire cat plastered over her face and she wasn't even quite sure of what she had just said or what she had meant. However she was certain that it sounded very provocative and not at all like her. Or at least, not like her of late. |
Marcella was being completely nonsensical. He thought he understood exactly what she meant but, the way in which she said it... If he didn't know better, or she hadn't been perfectly coherrant not five minutes before, Snape would have supposed her drunk and would never have taken advantage of her in that position. She seemed to be merely not quite herself similarly as he was not himself with his own suggestive comments. They were going to regret this later but, pushing those thoughts from his mind, he leaned forward and tasted her lips in reply. |
Completely taken aback by his movement, in sweet surprise rather than disgust, she gently closed her shocked eyes and lifted a rough hand. In her slightly drunken state, she placed it not so softly against his cheek, the tips of her fingers brushing along the familiar lines of stubble and gave back to him with another kiss, wholeheartedly. |
Snape wrapped his arms around her as she returned his kiss. This was exactly what he had been dreaming of. To enfold Marcella in his arms and shield her from everything which threatened to harm her body and mind. Of course, he knew, by this very act, he would only cause her further pain. Maybe it was the wine but, his thoughts didn't dwell on it for long as he gave into his own selfish needs; there was only one thing that existed in the world at that moment and her name was Marcella. His eyes were shut and he slid a hand up her back and through her hair until he was holding the back of her head, pulling her closer. |
The sheer force of the kiss, the strong lustful pull drew her in closer as she felt tugged upon. Sighing in between kisses, she stiffened and then relaxed as she felt his hand move upward her spine, every nerve running through her body tingling in both anticipation and fear. Feeling the tender stroke of his hand resting on the back of her neck, she inched forward, almost sitting on his very lap, her once firm hand now sliding from his cheek, grazing it lightly with her fingernails and trailing it down to his shoulder, all the while permanently attached to his lips, clinging on the edge of them, but not in a needy way, in wanting way, caressing his shoulder blade and smiling as she opened her eyes. That was incredibly hard to write. |
Oh but, it was beautifully written. For just a moment he thought she might pull away and at that moment he was suprised to feel such a pull to his heart. But, she relaxed once again, inching even nearer. His heart raced as they kissed and everything around them seemed to have melted away. Their lips still touching, he opened his eyes to find Marcella had already opened hers and he smiled at her. Though he didn't wish to move from this spot, Snape knew Moody was probably lurking somewhere nearby. "We should retire to somewhere more private," he whispered in almost a growl, his voice coming from deep within his throat. |
Lol Growling....you really shouldn't put imagery in my head. You're a bad influence Kris! "We should." she replied, biting on her lip a little, a flush arising on her face as she found that she was in fact, propped on the edge of his knee. Casually laying her right arm over his shoulder, she sighed and admitted, "That's one thing I didn't plan for. I suppose I didn't want to be, presumptuous. But then again, I did just see that bush move," she said, pointing with a funny gaze in her eyes. "And I dont remember anything in herbology about bushes being able to move of their own accord..." |
