Alex was still angry with her for not believing him about the mead. She thought he drank too much, but really he didn't! He only had one glass and it wasn't his fault that it fermented too long. But being that Adia was a woman and you could never argue with women, as he learned from his sister and mother... he let the case drop. Especially with a kiss like that. He just smiled sincerely at her when she stroked his face, and he put his hand on top of hers. Holding her hands in his, he just let her talk about how she got a job at the ministry and now she wanted to go back to the manor. With him. He sighed and took a deep breath; it would do them good to fix up this manor together. He stood up from the couch and began to pace back and forth across the living room, thinking. He promised his sister that he would meet up with her at Diagon Alley; and he did want to see his brothers too. On the other hand, he wanted to spend time with Adia. But on the other hand, he wanted to see his family who hadn't seen in many months. He also needed to get back on track with work, since he was supposed to start up from his vacation again in one week. He stopped pacing and stared at Adia for a moment or two; she was so pretty just sitting there waiting for the reply. He loved her... really truly loved her. At long last, he spoke up, "I don't know Adi. I mean I want to, but I really need to visit with my family too. My sister goes back to Hogwarts soon, and well, I start back up at work again in a week." Thinking for a moment, he then got an idea! "Wait... how about if we both go to visit my family for a day or two. They'd love to meet you, I'm sure. And then after that, we head to the manor. When I'm not working, I'll come back and help you fix it up." |

After Alex stood up and started to pace, Adia started to worry that he wouldnt come. She watched him walk back and forth. She could see the wheels in his head turning. She was wondering if smoke would start to pour from his ears at how much he was thinking. She had a sad feeling that he was going to say no. He wrapped his arms around her waist as she stood up, and kissed her back with such enthusiasm that he lifted her off her feet. "Oh of course, I will owl them straight away but I am sure that you could be no bother to them," he said happily. "And I did contemplate about saying no, but then I realized that I couldn't let you go back to the manor alone." |

She smiled and looked at him, "I know, its a big step, and i wasnt sure if you would say yes. I would have understood you know." She winked at him, hoping he didnt change his mind. "well, how about you go owl them, and i will start dinner, since Nick and Tina left, and we havent had dinner yet." She smiled, "what would you like to eat my dear?" |

Adia smiled, she could tell Alex knew she was nervous, "well i didnt expect it either, but," she didnt know if she should say it, but she did, "but when you know something is right you just have to do it. Especially when it involes the heart. You cant ignore these things. If you feel in your heart that you are ready, after 2 days, that i should meet your family, then it is right, and we should go." She blushed a little and looked down, "thats fine with me i will start right away." Adia walked over to the cubard and got all the things she needed to make the pasta with garlic. She got the water to a boil, and threw in the pasta. She buttered up some bread and put some garlic salt on it. She turned on the oven to broil and waited for the buzzer to tell her it was read. She took the pasta off the stove and drained it. Then the buzzer went off so she poped the bread in the oven and left it open a crack to watch it. She put some butter inthe pasta and let it melt, then she added the garlic. When Alex returned from sending the owl she had his plate set full of pasta and garlic bread on the side and an empty glass. She also had her plate fixed and a glass of water for her. "I wasnt sure what you wanted to drink lovey, what would you like? I hope you like the way i did the pasta, its how my mum always did it." She smiled. |
