Adrienne's eyes snapped open as she looked at Alice, and then her face broke into a devilish grin. After a second it relaxed into a bored smirk, but it was all too obvious it was purposeful. "It could prove interesting. It's not as though I won't end up punished by her later this year anyway," she noted as she picked at her chipping green nail polish. Her eyes flicked back up to Alice as her blue eyes lit up. "You wouldn't have any ideas, would you?" she prompted, unable to keep the smile from her lips.

Alice faked being hurt. “Me? Not have an idea?!” She smirked madly. “Not in your life. Lemme see-” She ran through many ideas that just didn’t seem appropriate. “Ooh there’s an idea!” She nodded to herself. “Yes, yes. How about,” She gave a mad smile “we could always go with something traditional.”

Francesca slowly walked into the Great Hall. She loved watching the sorting, it was a lovely reminder of how far she'd come since being a scared muggle-born first year. Smiling, she sat down at the Gryffindor table. She eyed the staff table. If there was one thing she wasn't looking forward to this year, it was the teachers. She glanced around the room, noticing the hall fill up. Typical Francesca behaviour, be the watcher.

Azure stepped into the Great Hall, pausing within the doorway to examine the room and it's inhabitants. Familiar faces dotted the room, many of which Azure had no intention of speaking to or even associating herself with. Her tolerance for pettiness was limited and easily exhausted by many of her classmates.

Her eyes fell upon Adrienne Still with interest. Her conversations with the girl had been limited in previous years, but she had seen no problem with her. Lacking any other options, Azure approached her table and sat beside her. "Hello, Adrienne," she greeted.

She then saw Alice beside her and greeted her as well.

Adrienne arched an eyebrow, her eyes darkening, but her tone still light and her smirk still in place. "So are you going to tell me, or are you just going to leave me hanging all day?"
She noticed someone sit beside her and give a greeting, but she had to turn to see who it was. "Oh, hello Azure. How was your summer? Eventful?"

Azure frowned at this with boredom. "Not even slightly. I spent most of my summer swimming and the rest of it sleeping," she stated, glancing around the Great Hall once more. Then she looked between Alice and Adrienne. "How about the two of you? Anything interesting?"

Adrienne nodded. "My summer was pretty much the same old. Spent doing nothing and pushing people to the brink. I considered acquiring some new hobbies, but then threw the notion out the window." She arched an eyebrow as she looked at Alice, then back at Azure. She hadn't spoken to Azure too much, but she didn't seem like the type to rat them out. It wasn't getting in trouble that bothered her; it was the idea that their plan might be found out before they had a chance to carry it through.

Azure nodded at Adrienne's reply. She then watched as Adrienne glanced at Alice, noticing that something was happening between the two of them. She could not bring herself to care enough to ask. Instead, she directed her gaze towards the teacher's table, waiting for them to call the feast to order. Hopefully at that point other people will have arrived, people who she actually spoke to.

Theo finally stood up from the Hufflepuff table as he spotted a girl sitting alone at the Gryffindor table. He walked over, taking a seat across from hers, and smirked. "I don't ever think I've heard you talk. Shy?" he asked, his face completely serious. "So what's your name?"

Alice nodded at Azure’s greeting. She looked back at Adrienne. “There’s too many.” She said briefly and vaguely. “Summer? Same old same old. Working at Dad’s restaurant, other than that, I learned to roller blade well.” She had been able to roller blade before, but only around a rink. Now some of the kids she hung out with started going to skate parks. It was weird, but fun. “Wait, you wouldn’t know what that is would you?” She wasn’t sure if she had mentioned it before. Then she smirked. “I will say, if you’re a good waitress, you make good tips.”

Sebastian walked into the Great Hall, his green robes looking nicely ironed. He took a seat at his table and looked at the fellow Slytherins, "Hello all."

Porcelain walked to her table at Ravenclaw and looked around, there was nobody here that she was familiar with.

She looked up, slightly surprised. People normally never paid much mind to her. "I talk when I have things to say. Not shy." she said tersely. She looked at the boy, mentally sizing the boy up. "I'm Francesca. You're in my year, right?" she said in a neutral tone to the Hufflepuff.

Adrienne looked thoughtful at Alice's recap of her summer activities. "Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm pretty sure I know what roller-blading is." She noticed the new arrival but looked up only briefly, barely flicking her eyes in his direction. "Hey," she greeted in response, but then looking back to Alice.

Theo nodded briefly. "As far as I'm aware. Theo Runner," he responded, not sure if he was interested with her, or mildly disappointed that she didn't say or do anything stupid that he could mock and taunt her for.

Sebastian moved closer to the girl who had just spoken to him.
"Hello there, miss." He said delicately taking her hand and kissing it.
He looked at the other girl, "Sebastian Adams, and who might you be?"

Adrienne rolled her eyes when he wasn't looking, then pulled her hand away as she smiled without much feeling. "I'm Adrienne Still. I know who you are," she responded coolly, glancing at Alice as he addressed her.

"Well then, I sense the harshness in that gentle voice, I'm too good for you anyway it seems." Sebastian said and then brushed his knuckles against the spotless robe. "Why are you so nasty? Have you no morals at all?" He smirked and glared at the girl at the same time.

Francesca turned her attention back to the empty gold plates. She was awfully hungry. Back turned away from the Hufflepuff boy, she casually said, "I love two things about the Opening Feast, food and sorting." It was more of a statement rather than any sort of conversation starter. She wasn't even looking at the boy, after all. But there was no one around her right now, so she might as well try her best.

His words brought an innocent smile to her lips, and Adrienne let out a short laugh. "Please don't say things like that. You really don't want to give me any reason to shoot down your blown up ego. Morals? Oh, please. Aren't you supposed to be a Slytherin?" She smiled then, her bright blue eyes striking and amused beneath her dark shadow. She rested her elbows on the table, folding her hands together and resting her chin atop them. "Don't nauseate me with your maudlin trash," she commented, bemused beneath the superficial harsh tone. "Everyone knows what you are, and even if you weren't and I didn't know, that still would only disgust me."

He smiled darkly at her comment, smirking as he glanced at her though she wasn't looking at him. "I love nothing about the Opening Feast. I can't even make the first and second years cry because there are too many witnesses." All truth be told, he had never made any first or second years cry for the fun of it. At least not on purpose.

"Why so defensive?" she asked tauntingly, finding more amusement out of the situation than she should have. The look he gave her sent a shock through the pit of her stomach. She was really playing with fire here; for all she knew, he could be a homicidal maniac who just so happened to share the same common room with her. "You might not want to sound so insecure. It's rather unattractive," she said sardonically, smirking at him despite herself.

She turned around, looking at Theo. "Mature, taunting the young ones," she said with a dash of sarcasm. She found it sweet, the little children entering into a completely different world. She sometimes felt like she was truly born during her sorting. She turned to face to Professor's table at the front of the hall. "They've changed, the professors," she said quietly. "They're harsher, more controlling, more involved in trivial matters with the students." She had done a lot of observing during her previous five years at Hogwarts. This was one of her many observations.

Archer sat at the teachers' table, drumming his fingers in a fashion similar to Lydia's and stabbing at the oak table with his fork in supreme boredom. Charms, he thought to himself morosely. They're making me teach these brats Charms! He swore quietly under his breath and muttered something about extensive Transfiguration training, but, no, had to teach Charms!

Jade wandered into the Great Hall, her horseless carriage having decided to steer offcourse for a bit of sight-seeing. Looking disheveled and slightly sweaty, she stumbled to the Gryffindor table and took a seat next to Francesca, smiling gratefully as she was able to finally sit down. "I alvays get the vandering thestral," she griped, her thick accent twisting her words in funny ways. "Every year, vithout fail."

She stopped when she noticed the boy clad in yellow robes sitting across from the two girls. She blinked at him oddly and said, "Aren't you in Hurfleduff?" She hadn't meant to completely dessicate the word 'Hufflepuff', but the word simply didn't work in a Russian accent.

Elizabeth ran into the Great Hall realising that she had gotten lucky by getting on the last thestral drawn carriage. She looked up to the staff table and saw that Professor Bennet was once again, still at the table. Joy. She saw Azure with Adrienne and Alice by the Slytherin table and went to say hello. "Hey Azure, Adrienne, Alice," she said flashing them each a smile. She turned to the boy. "And you are?"

Alice chuckled at Sebastian and Adrienne. She had talked briefly with Sebastian before, but only briefly. The two were acting like children. She gave him a quick nod in recognition of his greeting. Glancing up at the Staff table again, she smirked. Another ministry teacher.
