"Fine," Victoire remained as serene as she could possibly be. "Don't take the olive branch." She didn't want to get into it again with Al, especially in the middle of a quiet library. Madam Pince would probably skin their hides and Rose would be mortified at their behavior. Straightening up and away from the bookshelf, she rounded a corner and began to make her way out of the library. The farther that she was from Al, the better. She had tried time and time again to be cordial and what did she get in return? Crap. Upon reaching the corridor, Victoire began to make her way towards the bathrooms. She needed to sit and think for a short while about her cousins, particularly the snarky one, without any interruption. As for today, she hoped that Moaning Myrtle would choose not to bother her. |
Al rolled his eyes. "There was no branch extended, dear." He said as she walked out of the corridor of books. Deciding to leave well enough alone, he passed by Rose on his way out, and headed the opposide direction Vic had gone. His younger cousin (Even if it was only by a couple of months) seemed quite content to work away by herself. And he certiantly didn't want to bother her again, in fear of getting a hex set on him. He was half way to the gryffindor tower when an idea struck him. Alyss! She knew the twins, and very well at that. Better then Victorie did, that was for sure. Perhaps he could enlist her in the task of getting the pair together. He turned on his heel and jogged back down the stairs, looking for her. After she'd gone off with Jay, he hadn't seen her. Hopefully, she'd be out of class, and away from Kelley by now. Kyle stood once the lesson had ended, and stretched. It hadn't been a particularly interesting lesson, and he had dozed off a couple of times. The lack of sleep from the last two nights was catching up with him, and he was beginning to feel as if he'd been run over by the night bus, several times over. He packed his notebook and text away, and slung his messenger bag over his shoulder. "I'm going to go lie down for a bit." He said to Matt, who was doing the same. "I don't feel too great... Let me know if I miss anything?" He said, before he left the room. He didn't stick around for a reply, knowing Matt would only try to brighten his day, and drag him off somewhere. And right now, he just wanted some peace and quiet in the comfort of his domratory. He decended the stairs to the dungeons, the mornings conversation with Rose still weighing heavily on his mind. Did she understand what he'd said? Of course she did. What teenaged girl didn't know what 'I like you' meant? He sighed and pushed the common room door open and crossed to the boys dorm. Once safely inside, he dropped his bag with a thud, and flopped over onto his bed, arm slung over his eyes. He was exhausted. All this chacing around the girl of his dreams, only to be turned down was draining. He turned over on his side, not bothering to pull the covers over himself, and drifted off to sleep. Matt had been about to suggest that he take Kyle on a jog around the lake to wake him up, when his twin took off like a shot. He sighed, turning to Alyss. "What do I do?" He asked, sounding defeated and burnt out. "I've done everything I can think of, and he still can't get his mind of a girl he's hung up on. He won't snap out of it." He shook his head and rolled his eyes. "And frankly, it's starting to get on my nerves... any suggestions as to how to either get him to talk to her, or how I can get her to talk to him? You're a girl, and known for playing matchmaker... Help me out here." He all but pleaded. |
Alyss finished putting her things in her bag ans swung her bag over her shoulder. Quickly pulling her hair up, she turned to leave as she faced Matt. "I'd say lock them in the Room of Requirement and not let them out until they talk," she laughed. That usually worked every time, but maybe something else was needed in this case. Tilting her head slightly in thought, she nodded. "Well, if you want I could possible talk to the girl if you really want. I'm not sure how much I can really help there, but I could try." |
Teddy had sat in his office for a while, sorting out a few things as he had forced himself to become familiar with his new lodgings. The view from the window was amazing: practically the whole spectrum of the grounds was visible, the Quidditch Pitch taking precedence over them all. He had sat by the sill of the window for a while, nostalgically remembering his days on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Those had been the good ol' days, the worry-free times before he graduated and was thrust out into the cold, unforgiving world. Becoming a bit restless, he swiped a hand over his forehead to toss back a few rebellious curls and stood, stretching, before he made his way out. Maybe it would be a ripe time to observe some of the younger students, the ones he would be teaching come the next school week. He strolled down the grand staircase, predicting that most would be on the grounds on this bright and sunny afternoon, unusual weather for the region. Making his way down, he spotted Victoire across the way on another set of stairs. She looked rather upset; had Matt had anything to do with her glum expression? Teddy attempted to shake away the venemous thoughts that poured into his mind; Victoire was a big girl, they weren't dating anymore, and she was tough. She would be able to pull herself out of whatever situation she was in... hopefully. Turning a corner, Teddy was almost knocked down as a student went jogging past him. "Oi!" He called, a rather annoyed expression occupying his usually-friendly face. "What-" He stopped, realizing who the young man was. "Al?" His expression of irritation was replaced by one of puzzlement. He caught up with Al, he tone quizzical as he began, "What's the rush?" |
Al tripped up in his own feet as he almost smacked into to someone, but kept walking, until a familliar voice called to him. He looked over his shoulder and gave Teddy a smile. "I'm looking for my girlfriend..." He said, biting his lip the second the words left his mouth. He wasn't going to hear the end of it now. Teddy was going to torture him about having a girlfriend, let alone the fact that she was a Slytherine! That, he'd have to keep to himself. "Sorry I almost took you out! I've been looking for her for the last hour, and I have no idea where she's gone." Matt laughed. "We tried locking them in the kitchens, but they outsmarted Victorie and I, and left before we had the chance to bar them in." He said with a light eye roll. He sighed. "Talking to HER wouldn't do me any good. She's already got a few people telling her the same thing. And people she trusts too. Think you could talk to him? Because honestly, I'm sick of trying." He put his bookbag over his shoulder and started to walk out of the classroom with her. He had a free period next, and was in no rush to get anywhere, and figured walking an old friend to her next class would kill some time. "I know you always used to find some way of cheering him up..." He looked down at her, a blank look on his face. "And I DO NOT want to know how." He smirked a little, subtly hinting at less then conventional ways to cheer a guy up. |
A small smirk formed on Teddy's lips as soon as the words slipped out of Al's mouth. But taking the mickey out of Al would have to wait, as it seemed that he was almost as upset as Victoire had looked. "Could I be of any assistance?" He asked, "Just tell me how she looks. Maybe I can spot her." Aa moment of silence passed before an idea came to Teddy. "Actually, I have a better idea of how to find your girlfriend..." He turned, motioning Al to follow. Without turning to see if Al was accompanying him up the Grand Staircase, he began, "With authority comes privelege. And the use of the headmaster's speaker system." He smiled rather smugly. |
Alyss shrugged and smirked slightly. "I could talk to him about it," she replied. They were old friends and it had been a while since the two of them really talked. At the mention of how she used to always find a way to cheer in up, she smirked and batted her lashes. "What can I say, I'm rather good at what I do." She was full of surprises and she had the uncanny ability to cheer people up. She did always have a few tricks up her sleeve, being a Slytherin and all. "I'll see what I can do." |
Matt shuddered at the sudden thoughts that entered his mind. He brushed them off as quickly as possible and smiled at her. "Thanks, love." He said softly. "It'd mean a lot to me... And him." Al stopped dead in his tracks. "No no no no no!" He said, jogging after Teddy. "Really, it's not that improtant! And I think she'd kill me if I embarassed her like that. She's a rather prominent figure... And a Prefect. And" Before he could stop them, the words "A Slytherine." Slipped out of his mouth, causing him to stop once again, clapping a hand to his mouth. He stared at the back of Teddy's head with wide eyes, darting back and forth around the room. Oh great. There was no living this down. He was going to be crucified from onw until the end of the year. And knowing Teddy, he'd let it slip at the family christmas gathering, and then, that'd be it. His father would hang him. |
Alyss laughed softly and shook her head. "What are friends for? I'll talk to him after lessons, she said as they walked down the corridors. She still had a few more lessons to attend and Al to see, but she was pretty sure she would run into Kyle at some point in her day. "And don't' mention it, you know how I do hate to see you guys like this." |
Teddy had simply kept walking, "Fine, I'll do it. She'll just think that another professor has called her up. You don't have to speak at a-" Teddy stopped immediately as Al finished speaking. Turning with an incredulous look on his face, he attempted to laugh as he began, "You've got to be joking. Al?" The look on Potter's face did not lie. At this realization, Teddy had to lean on the wall, wiping his hand over his father rather roughly as he began to laugh. "Merlin, what is up with kids these days? I guess the rules have changed since I left, eh? No more house rivalry anymore?" He shook his head, a small smile on his lips as he waited for Al to recover. |
Al shook his head. "Oh no, rivilary is still there. We just kind of ignore it. Like Matt and Vic, as much as I can't stand that little..." Al stopped himself from cursing the other boy out. Teddy may have been a friend, but he was still a professor. and cursing infront of a professor got points deducted. "Just don't let mum and dad know... Or anyone else from the family." He asked quietly. "Dad would kill me. And Mum would have a fit." Matt smiled a little. "Thanks again." He said before leaving her, and heading towards the quidditch pitch. He needed to shape up a little, and maybe Jay aws around. They had yet to discuss the terms of his re-joining the team. He dropped his bag off in the locker room and grabbed his broom from the stand, where he'd had the house elves drop it off. He didn't bother keeping it in the dorms, it only took up too much room. He walked out on to the field, seeing several groups standing around, talking about plays, or the previous summers world cup match. But he just kept walking, looking for Jay. |
Teddy straightened up from the wall, ignoring what he had about to say about Matt. True, Teddy didn't like him much after their introduction, but maybe the kid deserved a second chance. Maybe. "Don't worry about it," He clapped Al on the back, beginning to walk back in the other direction with him. "At least you won't have to see any of them during the Christmas holiday. After the Yule Ball, we'll all leave the castle for a few weeks. It'll give everyone time to cool off." Teddy smiled encouragingly, hoping that Al would perk up as well. "Besides," He began, "I'm beginning to crave your mum's Yorkshire pudding again. Haven't had it in ages." |
Al laughed a little, smiling. "Yeah, she's a pretty great cook." He said lightly. "I've just stopped caring about the old rivilary. Alyss is a sweet girl, when you get her away from Meg." He looked back up at Teddy, with a smirk. "I don't know. I think you'd like her... And so would the family, if they could look past the fact she's a Dewley, and a Slytherine." |
Teddy had to sigh ever so slightly. "Glad that you have, Al. Maybe it's time that I did too. I wouldn't want to be the odd one out." He threw Al a wink before having to laugh at himself. Teddy was holding onto the old ways of his parents a bit too hard; maybe that was the last thing, besides being a metamorphmagus, that he had of his deceased folks. He was older now. It was time to grow up. "Well," He began, "Do you plan on inviting her over for the Christmas holiday? I don't know the girl, but if she's good enough for you, then she's good enough for me." Teddy knew he might be pushing Al a little far but if he wanted to further his relationship with Alyss, this would be a needed step. |
Al bit his lip. "I don't think mum and dad would approve." He said slowly. "And it's better they not know about my relationship with Alyss... It'll only add much unneeded drama around the dinner table. And lord knows theres always enough of that." He said, continuing to walk with Teddy. He knew that she'd probably want to meet his family, of things lasted that long, or got that serious. But being who she was, and who she was related to, his parents, and the rest of his family for that matter, would be less then thrilled. There was still a lot of bad blood between his father, and Alyss' uncle Draco. Al sighed. "Maybe this is going to be more trouble then it's worth... I mean, at least Matt and Kyle's parents never really had much to do with Vic's and Rose's." He said quietly. |
After leaving Matt, Alyss made her way to her next lesson and thought about what she was going to do to cheer Kyle up. It wasn't like she really needed to think much in her next lesson, so she pulled out her compact and checked her reflection. She was a bit oily and she probably needed to stop back to the dungeon after the lesson. She did hate to look like that oily. Closing her compact, she sighed and listened to the professor drone on about something. Lessons were ever so boring today. |
Kyle woke up an hour later, unable to sleep any longer. Still not wanting to get up, he rolled onto his back, and looked up at the canopy above his head. There was too much running through his mind right now, and as tired as he was, sleep was not working. He sighed. What am I doing? He thought, closing his eyes. I know theres now way that she'll speak to me again. And I already embarassed myself enough infront of her, so going up to her on my own is not an option. God, how could I have been so stupid! Oh right, I listened to my stupid brother, his girlfriend. Tell her how you feel, they said. Things will be fine, they said. Yeah? If this is fine, I'd hate to see pain... He thought bitterly, as he pushed himself into a sitting position, before he reached over and grabbed his guitar and started to play. It was a song he'd origionally learned on piano, but found a version that was played on guitar. It was also one of his favorites. He played mindlessly for a while, staring at the wall across from him, until he came to his favorite verse, when he sang softly, without even noticing he did so. "Well, baby I've been here before I've seen this room, and I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew ya. I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march. It's a cold, and it's a broken Hallelujah.." |
Teddy attempted to ignore Al's previous comments, swatting them away with a casual hand gesture. "Who cares, Al? Stand out for once. Do something different, something bold. Something that Vic and Rose would have never expected out of you." Teddy was ever the ambitious one, trying to fuel up Al with his pep talk. Teddy cared for Al deeply but the kid could be such a downer sometimes. Maybe that was why he tended to fade in the background behind his more vibrant relatives. But since this was Al's final time at the school, Teddy wanted to make sure that Al made a name for himself, a name that didn't include anything about being Harry Potter's son. |
Al looked up at his long time friend, an eyebrow arched. "I don't feel like dying this year." He said slowly. "I don't care what the girls think. Vic's already dating someone her parent's won't care for. And we're in the process of getting Rose to do the same. That alone is going to get me grounded. If they know who Alyss was related to, I would be killed!" He explained quickly, in all one breath. "Please Teddy, just leave it alone." he asked, glancing away from the other. "I know you're only trying to help, but please..." |
Teddy shook his head, grimacing. "Alright, then. It's your relationship and I won't force any of my ideas onto you." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck as they continued along. "Well, I see I haven't been of much help already," He chuckled as he gazed around their surroundings. "We've been walking all this time and I haven't been paying any attention to the females in the area; any of them could have been Alyss. Are you sure that you don't want me to call her up on the speakers?" He smiled rather hopefully and enthusiastically although he was sure of Al's answer. |
Al shook his head. "No, I havn't seen her. I think she's probably in class now anyway. That, or she's doing rounds." He said, rather half heartedly. He knew that Teddy had been right about bringing her home to meet the family. But inside, he felt like it might be either a collosal waste of time, and they'd hate her anyway for being who she was, or something else for his parents to yell at him for. Sure, Harry and Ginny were great people, and loved him more then anything. But they expected too much of him. At least, he thought so anyway. He sighed again and continued following Teddy. "I'm sorry if I seem a little snappy... Vic hasn't put me in the bst of moods latley." He admited quietly. |
Teddy shrugged, staring straight ahead as the duo made their way onto the grounds. Teddy needed some fresh air anyways; Al seemed like he did as well. "It's alright, mate. We all get that way sometimes." Before passing under a thicket of trees, Teddy placed a hand over his eyes to block the blinding sun that shone their way. The warmth was wecome to the cold temperature inside of the castle, but the brightness was a bit too much. "And as for Victoire... she's been alright with me. We... we talked and things had seemed to simmer down quite a bit from what they once were." He sighed, biting his lower lip before he continued, "But that was before she introduced me to Matt today." His brow knit at the mere thought of the brazen student. |
Al snorted, trying to supress his laughter. "Unbearable, isn't he?" He asked, looking up at Teddy. "Don't worry, I can't stand him either. He's so... Annoyingly perfect. What with his fantastic musica abillity, and 'charm'." He all but spat. "I never have been too fond of him. He just gets under my skin." He shuddered a little. |
"Well," Teddy began, his hand rubbing the back of his neck, "I'm all for giving second chances. Maybe he was just a little strung up today when Victoire forced us together." He grimaced, knowing that he spoke lies. "But really, what does she see in him? Ripped clothes, Slytherin, completely the opposite of..." Teddy trailed off, trying to find the proper wording as a flush crept up his high cheekbones, "...of her usual type?" He roughly shoved his hands into his pockets, hoping that Al didn't notice his lapse in speech. Teddy's hopes were most likely in vain. |
Al gave Teddy a very unconvinced look. "What are you talking about?" he said with a light laugh. "He's exactly her type. He's a rebel... Someone who dosen't much care for rules.. He's basically a younger, more available version of yourself." He shook his head, flopping down in the grass under a shady tree. The sun was almost unbearably bright, and it was getting on his nerves. Though the cool breeze, and fresh air was a much welcome thing. "What are we going to do? She's going to get herself hurt again, if she sticks around him. He's bad for her. And to be honest, I don't think I can pick her up off the floor again when she falls apart... Because I know she will." He sighed, looking back up at Teddy once more. "You can give him all the chances you want. But I know what he's like. And I really don't like it." |
Teddy smirked, "You know I'd love to believe you, but a part of me just doesn't see it." Lies. Teddy had been the rebel of the school, having given the Marauders and the Weasley twins a run for their money when he had been in attendance. He could see the similarities between himself and Matt quite clearly, but Teddy wanted nothing to do with him, the one who seemed to be dragging Victoire into a deep hole. "What are we going to do?" Teddy looked incredulous, his eyebrows having risen up behind the curls that covered his forehead. "I don't know about you, but I'm sure as hell staying out of it. I love you all like siblings, but Victoire would have my head on a platter if she knew what we, especially I, were up to. You should have seen her earlier, the way she looked at me." A chill ran up Teddy's spine; it wasn't often that one with fierce Veela blood had you marked on their murder list. He knew that Victoire's hatred had somewhat subsided and he was fine with being an acquaintance. As for now, Teddy felt that it was better to keep himself out of her affairs. |
Al nodded, knowing the look well. "Yeah, I know the look you're talking about..." He said shuddering as well. "Alright, stay out of it if you want, but I'm going to find a way to get her away from him." He muttered, rolling his eyes. "I don't want her to get hurt again. And with him, that's going to happen." He sighed and lounged back in the grass, looking up at the sky through the tree leaves, and suddenly found himself wishing Alyss was there. |
Teddy stood as Al lay on the grass, some dew drops still remaining on the shaded, unsunned grass near the trees. "Good luck," Teddy grinned. "You know I'd like to help, but..." He trailed off, not wanting to detail his reasons. "Hey, I think I'm gonna head over to the pitch. Take a look over my old stomping grounds and get a looksee on how I'm going to teach my first lesson. Are you alright staying here on your own?" Teddy gazed across an acre of landscape towards the pitch, seeing a few people flying about already. |
Al nodded lazily. "Yeah, don't worry about me. I've been on my own pretty well every day since we got here... What's one more?" He said, somewhat sarcastically, as he folded his arms behind his head, and used them as a pillow. "Have fun." He yawned. Matt met up with a few old house team mates, and had started a mini practice with them. It had been a while since he'd played, or even flown for that matter, and needed some time to warm up, befor an actual practice with the full team. He knew that Jay would be looking for any reason there was not to have him play this year, even though they'd suffer once again without him. The last time Slytherine had won the cup was the year he'd played, and every year since he quit, they'd lost... Terribly. He did a few laps around the pitch, getting a feel for flying again. |
Teddy had made his way toward the Quidditch Pitch, having gone at a moderate pace as he enjoyed the scenery. Looking one way, he had noticed the gamekeepers hut. Had Hagrid retired already? Teddy hoped not; he was always nice to have for some conversation and some good, earthly advice. Hagrid might have been a bit nutty when it came to creatures, but he was alright in Teddy's opinion. Before stepping onto the pitch, Teddy accioed his broom from the castle, the polished wood of the handle reaching his hand in no time. Stepping onto the grass, he gazed around to find a few students mucking about. He wouldn't bother them unless any of them got smart with him. |
As he flew about the pitch, tossing a quaffle back and forth with a few old friends, Matt spotted an unplesantly familliar figure strutting onto the field. He glared, and landed infront of the new comer, only to confirm it was, who he thought it was. Lupin. "Hello again." He said, not entirely unplesantly. "What brings you all the way out here." He looked the other, slightly older man up and down, sizing him up. Ok, he'd been a quidditch player too. And sure, he was somewhat of a rebel, going on some expidition across the world for the daily prophet or something equally as lame. But what Vic had seen in him was beyond him. After a while, Al stood and stretched. Perhapse Rose had the right idea, and he too should get cracking on his homework. He jogged back to the castle, and up to the library, where his cousin was still working away. "Mind if I join you?" he asked, taking a seat across the table from her. His hunt for Alyss had been a waste of time, as he knew it would be. And Victorie seemed to be elsewhere, not that he was talking to her anyway. |

Al nodded, sitting down. "Yeah. I guess so. I was looking for Alyss, but I couldn't find her." He said, pullling a muggle studies text book towards himself, and flipping to the chapter they'd been working on last. "I needed to talk to her about something." He sighed a little and stared blankly at the page. Something told him that this relationship wasn't going to work out. They'd been together for 24 hours, and they'd spent what, 2 minutes together in that time? He took a spare roll of parchment from the stack she had there, and a pen from his pocket, and started jotting down important points to study for their test, whenever that was. |

"I needed her to do something for me." He said simply, glancing up at the red head. Suddenly she seemed interested in talking. "And... I was going to invite her over for mum and dad's usual Christmas feast-like-thing." he said, blushing slightly. He knew Rose wasn't about to approve. But hey, if Vic was going to bring Matt, he was bringing Alyss. Teddy was right after all, it was going to be an important step... Meeting the parents. |

Alyss sighed as she made her way back to the dungeons. Classes were finally over and she could get back to finding Al and she still needed to talk to Kyle. Walking into the common room, she tossed her bag on one of the chairs and plopped down in the chair across from it. Running around had kind of made her tired. |

Al blushed. "I havn't asked them yet. And honestly, I don't even know if it's going to last that long. But if it does, I'd like to have the option." He started, glancing up from his notes. "Besides, I know that Vic is going to bring Matt, who's also a slytherin. So what's to stop me?" Kyle lay his guitar down after a while, feeling his stomach growling. He hadn't eaten yet today, and food was starting to sound like a good idea. He stood, stretched, and shoved on his sneakers before exiting the dorms, pulling his hood over his head in the process. He was in no real mood to deal with the fans that roamed the school, or the annoying first years who gawked at him for his long hair and tattoos. As he climbed the stairs, he noticed Alyss sitting alone in the common room. "Classes out already?" He asked, leaning against the back of the chair she was sitting in. Matt smirked a little. Right, Lupin had been a player as well. And judging from the way he was sizing up his equiptment, knew what he liked. "I'm just warming up before practice with the team." He said casually. "I though it'd be nice to see my team win the cup once more before I leave this place. And seeing as they can't do it without me, I figured I'd rejoin and help." He Looked back up to the guys he'd been flying with. They were doing really well, which was promising. No one had dropped the ball, or gotten hit by a rogue bludger. And if these three were any indication of the rest of the team, they might have a chance. |
"Nice of you to help," Teddy nodded slowly, his sarcasm veiled as his eyes grazed over the members of the Slytherin quidditch team. It seemed that all of the players from his school days had graduated, not that he minded. Teddy would have expected to see Adam Goyle on the current team; years back, everyone had expected Goyle, one of the former Slytherin beaters, to drop out of school or graduate when he was 30. Maybe he and his thick skull had made it out of Hogwarts alright after all. "Well," He began, tugging at his collar uncomfortably, "I guess I'll leave you to it, then. If you need any help, I'll be at the other end of the pitch." |
"Right then." Matt said, mounting his broom, and kicking off. "Like I'd reallt need any help from you." He muttered to himself, as he flew up to his team mates. He grabbed the beaters club from one of the boys, tossing it in the air, and catching it several times. "You've got no idea how badly, I'd like to send a bludger his way." He said to one of the guys. OOC: Adding a community character(Meaning anyone can interject him at any time) Bio soon. Joey laughed, arching an eyebrow at Matt, who looked at if he was ready to slaughter the nearest person. "What'd he do? He only JUST got here?" He laughed, taking his club back. "It can't have been that bad." Matt rolled his eyes, catching the quaffle that had been suddenly tossed at him by a passing third year. "He ruined Vic's life." He said simply, before taking off around the pitch, the others following closely. His eyes scanned the pitch for Jay, wondering where he was. It was sunny, and warm. Of course Kelley was going to be down here, where was just the question. Not in the stands, or on the pitch. Maybe he was in the change room. Hmm. Then, he found himself looking for the familliar blonde figure he hoped to see down here. She'd said she wanted him to show her the basics of the game. And she knew he was down here... But where was she. As long as she wasn't with Lupin he really didn't mind too much. I'd say she's off talking to Rose, trying to get this yule ball thing in motion. He thought, tossing the ball to his team mate. |

"You took that the wrong way." Al said, jotting down more notes. "I meant keep the option of my bring her to dinner open. Not keep HER as an option. I like her a lot, and I think if mum and dad met her, they would too. And I mean, mum is always hounding me about starting to date... And I have." He sighed and dropped his pen, running his hands through his already impossibly messy hair. "I don't know what I'm doing. I don't do this whole boyfriend thing. I'm not used to it! What am I supposed to do here?" |
Teddy kicked off from the ground rather hard after mounting his Firebolt, a hand-me-down from Harry. It still worked like a charm, according to Harry. It might not have been the best, most modern piece of flying technology, but Teddy had used it ever since his second year and had considered it to be one of his most prized positions. It was a rush to fly about, as he hadn't done so in quite a long while. He flew around the outskirts of the pitch rather quickly, loving the feeling of the wind sweeping through his curly, thick hair. Teddy almost didn't realize the small smile that appeared on his face; he was truly happy in the air. Victoire left Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, the ghost wailing after her as she moved along. She had spent some nice alone time in there, thinking things over in relative silence. When you were nice, Myrtle could actually be quite the helpful therapist. But upon her sudden exit, Myrtle had grown hostile and had begun flooding the bathroom immediately. Not wanting to wade knee-deep in toilet water, Victoire had skipped away as soon as she could. Myrtle had looked murderous, but she would get over it. Moody ghost, she was. Feeling a bit walled in, Victoire decided to head out to the grounds. Everyone seemed to be heading to the quidditch pitch today. It wasn't surprising, as quidditch season was fast approaching. |

Maybe she was being to harsh. "Why don't you get her flowers." she suggestion. "And not mention our family party. You don't want to scare her off after only a day." |
As he continues tossing the quaffle back and forth with the guys, he spotted the figure he wanted to see most of all. Victorie. It was odd, how she had this effect on him. It was like he didn't want to spend more then an hour or two away from her. And when she wasn't there, he felt empty. Maybe it was a good thing. He was about to go and land near her, when a blur nearly knocked him from his broom. "Oi! Watch it!" He called, slightly annoyed, until he saw who it was. "Lupin." He growled. He glared hard after the professor, but wasn't about to do something stupid. Al heaved a sigh. With an attitude like that, getting her with Kyle was quickly becoming a task that may be beyond himself, Vic, and Matt. "Alright alright. I won't ask her to come." He said, picking up his pen once more. They sat in silence for a few minutes, before he looked up at her, fron under his slightly too long bangs. "So, honestly here. What is going on with you and Kyle. Vic said he was pretty upset earlier... What happened at breakfast?" He wasn't trying to worm his way into her life, and get them together. He was just curious as to what she'd done to get him all up in arms. |

Kyle shrugged. "Not really." He said flopping down into a chair across from her. "My head is still throbbing, and I feel like I havn't eaten in a week." He looked over at her, knowing that there were probably dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep. He kept his hood up, but pushed back the sleeves of his hoodie and sank into the chair a little. "I think I may need a week to get over whatever it is I've got." He said, lying. He wasn't sick, in the conventional, go-to-the-hospital-wing-and-make-it-better way. Lovesick, perhaps. He tried to smile, but failed, and sighed, leaning his head back against the chair. |
Alyss frowned slightly as she looked at her friend. She really did hate to see him like that. "I'm sorry to her that hon," she said as she leaned forward in her chair slightly. "Is there anything I could do to help? I mean, do you want me to get a house-elf to bring you down something?" she offered. She really want to help, but she wasn't completely sure how to start. It wasn't like times before, it was different now and she was unsure of what her first course of action should be for helping her friend out. |
Kyle laughed a little, and shook his head. "Nah, I can go to the kitchens later." He said softly, looking over at her. Things were a little more strained in their conversation now, seeing as she was dating Potter, and he was whatever he was to Rose. Before, he'd just spend an hour flirting with her, or should he be so lucky, something more questionable, and he'd be in a better mood. But he knew that wasn't going to happen now, not that he wanted it to. He'd already almost demolished his chances with Rose by telling her he liked her. He really didn't want to know what she'd do if she heard he was fooling around with another girl. That, and she was with Potter. "I'll be ok, I promise." he said weakly, turning his gaze to the window at the far side of the room. |
Alyss shook her head and shrugged. "Well, you do know that if you do need anything, I'm seriously here for you," she voiced. They had been friends for a long time and nothing could really change that she did care from them, even if at time they did annoy her to no end. But that's what friends were for. "The offer stands if you do need anything, though. I am the house prefect and I am supposed to help out all students in our house with anything they need." |
Kyle arched an eyebrow. "You're worried about me, for the hood of the Slytherine house?" he said slowly. He laughe and rolled his eyes. "Alyss, there was a time when you'd do anything for me." He gave a little extra emphasis to the word 'anything'. "So tell me this, what do you see in Potter? I mean, he's got some kind of a grudge against Matt, who's never so much as said Boo to the kid, and already punched him out once..." He shrugged. "I'm not really one to judge, I've dated some questionable characters after all. I'm just curious as to why you'd date someone who obviously dispises some of your best friends." |

Victoire had been searching for a familiar face, any familiar face, as she made her way onto the pitch. It was just her luck that the first person she was to encounter would be Teddy. "Hey," She began, grinning rather broadly at his windswept hair. "What brought you out here today? Didn't feel like socializing with the other professors in the staff room?" She laughed as Teddy shook his head, a smile appearing on his own face. "'Course not," He began. "You know me; the quidditch pitch has always been like my second home. Unlike you, of course," He chuckled, causing Victoire to turn pink. Way back when Teddy had still been an underclassman at Hogwarts, Victoire had tried out for the Gryffindor quidditch team in order to try and impress him. She had made the team, but just barely. After a season's worth of humiliation, she had turned in her quidditch uniform and had quit. She had succeeded in impressing her then-boyfriend for trying, but Teddy preferred her to be happy rather than suffering in front of the goal hoops and the entire student body. "Whatever," Victoire chided, crossing her arms over her chest. "Just make sure that you haven't lost your form... or that the charm in your broom hasn't worn out." She snickered playfully as their conversation continued. |
Matt had been about to go speak with his girlfriend, when go figure, Lupin got there first. "This day can't get any better, can it." He said sarcastically to Joey, who snorted under his breath. "Really though. He does know you're with her now, right?" He asked, circling his team mated. Matt nodded, and took off again, landing beside Victorie. "Hey." He said plseantly, completely ignoring Lupin's presence. She was blushing, and smiling that flirty smile she'd given him at the welcome party. Either he'd walked in at the wrong time, or it was the perfect oppertunity to get him away from her. He didn't care who she spoke with, hung out with, or spent her afternoons with. But when it came to this guy, Matt had a terrible feeling that he had a different motive. He knew their history, and didn't trust the professor at all. |

Al gave her a blank look. "Did he say anything else? That maybe he liked you? Or that he'd like to take you out on a real date? Or something else that you might not have picked up on because you're the most oblivious person I know?" He said, smirking a little. He was going to make her see that having a guy like her wasn't the end of thr world. Hell, she deserved it. And with any lich, he'd convince her to go to the Yule ball with him. Kyle pouted. "Touche," He said, at her comment about why he liked Rose. "I didn't mean anything by it, I was just curious. In all the years I've known you, I've never seen you with someone who's so... Good. You date guys like me and Matt, and Jay even. Popular, rich, people who don't mind breaking a rule or two." He shrugged a little and crossed his arms over his stomach. "But I see what you mean. I've been with people who 'saw me for who I am', and let me tell you, it won't end well. They'll see a side they don't like, and then that'll turn them off from you...." He sighed. "Thats what happened to me and Julia anyway." He said softly. Julia had been a year older then he was, and in Ravenclaw. They'd been good friends all through school, and started dating in his fifth year. It ended the summer between sixth and seventh year, because she thought he cared more about his music then her. It wasn't true, of course. Kyle shuddered at the thoughts and brushed them away. "But who knows, maybe he'll be good for you. And I hope things go well." He stood from the chair he'd been sitting in, and stretched. "I'll be in the kitchens if Matt comes looking... Which he won't." He said, before leaving the common room. |

Teddy's smile faltered ever so slightly as Matt came to Victoire's side. He seemed a bit clingy, which unnerved Teddy quite a bit. When they had been together, Teddy hadn't seen the need to 'come to Victoire's rescue' when she was simply speaking to a friend, male or female. Matt seemed to be marking his territory, making a public challenge as he stood protectively by her side. "Long time no see," He spoke, a hint of humor in his tone. "Sorry about that little accident up there," Teddy gestured in the direction of their collision, "I just got a bit carried away. Haven't been on a broom in such a long time. You understand, don't you?" Victoire tensed ever so slightly. Teddy seemed genuinely sorry for whatever crime he had recently committed, but she sensed the sarcasm expertly veiled beneath his friendly facade. She didn't dare look at Matt for fear that he would have a murderous expression on hisr face. |
Al looked up at Rose again, this time with a look of shock. "Seriously?" He said, dropping his quill. "You're going to let him get away from you, because you don't know him well enough?" Al laughed, shaking his head. "Look at it this way. He's in his last year here, and once he's gone, he's gone for good. Their from Wales, we're from London. You'll probably never see him again. You dn't have time to do what our parents did. They knew each other for YEARS before something happened. You don't have that kind of time here... Just..." He sighed knowing trying to convince her of anything wasn't going to happen. "At least tell me this. From what you know now, do you like him back?" Matt nodded once, looking blankly at the other. "Just keep your eyes open next time." He said flatly. He completely inderstood what Lupin was saying, but admiting it was something he wasn't going to do. He turned to Victorie, sighing a little. "Did you get anywhere with Rose?" He asked quietly. "I tried talking to Kyle, but he's still mopey. He's not himself, and refuses to listen to anyone. And he actually skipped class today... He never does that. I havn't seen him this broken up since Julia..." |

Al groaned in fruatration. "Well will you at least get to know him to see if you like him or not? For the love of merlin, give the lad a chance!" He said, giving her a pleading look. He wasn't sure why he cares do much. Perhaps it was because Victorie had asked him to help out. Maybe it was because he wanted to see her happy. He sighed. |
Teddy curtly nodded. As soon as Matt began whispering away, Teddy turned and went back to his solo practice. There was no use being around the happy couple at the moment. Victoire crossed her arms over her chest, a bit disappointed at her own failure. "Not really. She just got upset. But actually, I have a bit of good news..." Looking over her shoulder to make sure that a nearby pair of students weren't eavesdropping, she began, "I enlisted Al's help. With any luck, he can get Alyss to help as well. He wasn't too keen, but he's ultimately doing it for Rose." Victoire wondered if Matt would be at all happy that Al was helping. Hopefully he would be, as Al didn't seem at all happy about semi-working with Matt. |
Matt smirked a little. "The more help we have on this, the better." He said queitly. "I actually already spoke to Alyss. She's going to try and cheer him up a bit. And don't ask how, because I told her I didn't want details." He said with a shudder. He didn't know if she knew there was some history between himself, Alyss, and Kyle. Most people didn't. And he wasn't about to divulge that information now, unless she really wanted to know. |
Victoire smiled, glad that he was happy with her work. "Excellent," She began, "I don't really know her too well, but if you trust her, then she should be alright." She noticed Matt shudder as she mentioned Alyss and her methods of cheering someone up. "I think I don't want to know either," She laughed softly, getting the hint. Her eyes travelled to Teddy, who was practicing some rather complicated tricks across the pitch from them. "What happened earlier? Did I miss another fight?" She pouted slightly, biting her lower lip. Why did men have to fight over women like they were property? |
Matt laughed. "No, he just nearly knocked me off my broom." He said, leading her back to the change rooms. "So I guess that's my que to get out of here before I get myself hurt... Again." He rolled his eyes with a smile. "Anything you had in mind for today?" He asked. |

Al sighed. "Ok fine. Whatever. Just, don't wait to long to get to know him. He'll move on, because he is who he is, and he can get anyone he wants in a heartbeat. Except you apparently." He said, packing away his things again. "I'm done for now though. I think their serving dinner soon, and I'm starving." he said, stretching. "You coming down too, or are you going to stay here and work?" He asked, sticking his hands in the pockets of his jeans. |
Victoire had to laugh along with him. Whether or not he liked to admit it, Teddy could be quite clumsy at times. According to her father, Bill, that was a trait that Teddy had inherited from his mother, Nymphadora. "Oh, you mean besides making sure that our plan is foolproof?" She chided, taking a seat on one of the wooden benches in the changing room. "Nothing really. But don't your teammates still need you? I'd be happy to cheer you on from the stands." |
Matt shook his head. "Nah. Jay isn't even here to give us our new plays, so I can't do much." He said sitting beside her. "Besides, it's too crowded to do anything properly. Both on the ground, in the air. It's a little crazy here today. No one had it booked, so everyone kind of flocked to the pitch I guess." He said lazily, looking around the familliar setting. There'd been many an after-game romp in this room with various people, and it made him laugh. "Our plan is foolproof though. She's going to fall in love with him... Even if I have to put my potions skills to the test." He said, looking over at her with a wink. "Of course, it wouldn't be so strong, as to make her mad. It'd be just enough so she'd see him for the great person he really is..." |

Victoire nodded slowly as Matt spoke, until he mentioned the possible use of a love potion. "What?" Her eyebrows rose. "I know that Rose is a stubborn mule, but I don't feel right forcing a potion on her, or slipping it to her. Besides, isn't one supposed to be in a trance after taking amortentia? So even if she does take it, she won't remember the night anyways?" She pursed her lips as she thought conflicting thoughts. If only Rose could appreciate what everyone was doing for her; then maybe she wouldn't be so grouchy all of the time. |
Al smirked. "C'mon then." He said, leading her down the stairs, towards the great hall. They walked along in silence, for the first time in so long. Normally, they'd be talking and laughing ar something, but ever since this year had started, Rose seemed a little different. Or maybe he was the one who'd changed. He brushed the thought as someone else joined them in the hall, a few paces ahead. Judging by worn looking jeans, and hoodie with some sort of gory logo on the back, ot was one of the twins. Which one it was, he had no idea... His hood was up. He just hoped it wasn't Matt. Matt shook his head. "Not if it's brewed super weak. It just kind of makes her a little more attracted to him then normal. Believe me, it's been put in my drink more then once, and I remember EVERYTHING." He shuddered a little, and laughed. "I was kidding anyways. I'm sure Kyle wouldn't approve of me slipping her something, even if was for his own good. That, and she'd probably think he did it." He said flopping backwards on the bench, and folding his hands over his chest. "I just really hope she knows how to dance. He does, actually, we both do. Mum's all 'ohh, proper wealthy young men always know how to waltz' and spent an entire summer teaching us." He rolled his eyes. "Do NOT tell anyone that. I'm actually ashamed of that little fact." Noticing the time, Kyle headed to the great all, as apposed to the kitchens. Matt would probably be down there anyway, if he wasn't off with Victorie on some sort of date. He walked passed a couple of people, not really paying attention to who they were, and silently wished that they weren't fans, friends, or anyone else who'd bother him. Most of all, he hoped it wasn't Rose. If there was one person he didn't want to look at right now, it was her. He pushed back the sleeves of his hoodie, and stuck his hands in his pockets, walking along silently. |
"I guess it's alright then," Victoire shrugged and smiled lightly, partially at his explanation and partly because of his personal experiences. Victoire had never had a love potion slipped to her, but it was for the better. She had no desire to become a slave to another, whether the potion made her consciously or unconsciously perform the brewer's desired effects. Turning on the bench, she crossed her legs Indian-style as she faced Matt, who lay on his back. "Don't be ashamed," She cooed, but her smirk belied her true feelings. "Waltzing is a bit old-fashioned but it's nice all the same. My mum knows how to; she had to waltz at the Yule Ball when she was a triziward champion. But I've never had the inclination to learn, or the patience." |
Matt laughed at her expression. "It takes months to get properly, especially for someone as clutzy as I am. I think I stepped on Lex's foot about a hundred times. Kyle picked it up right away though." He yawned and looked over at her with a small smile. "You know, there are times I think you slipped a bit of a love potion in my drink at that party..." He said quietly, reaching over and taking her hand in his. |
Victoire laughed. Matt didn't seem like the waltzing type, but then again he hadn't seemed like one for classical music before she heard him perform incredible music on his piano. He hadn't seemed like the friendly type until he had approached her on the Hogwarts Express. He had proved her wrong so many times and that was a blessing in itself. Matt still was cocky, albeit not as badly as she had thought him to be, and he could become angry, but only sometimes. The pros definitely outweighed the cons. "You can never be too sure," She smiled, squeezing his hand as his made contact with hers. "I could say the same for you as well. Why else would I date a Slytherin?" She joked. |
"Because I'm devilisly good looking, and filthy rich." He joked in return, with a playfull smile. He looked up into her eyes, feeling that familliar warmth washing over his entire body. There was something about her, and he wasn't sure what it was. But whatever it was, he wasn't letting go of it. He'd already lost one girl who'd stolen his heart, and he hoped this one wouldn't be the same. "I could say the same to you though. What reason would I have to date a gryffindor." |

Not paying attention to where she was going he ran straight into someone. "Oh, excuse me. I wasn't watching." she said. |
Al nodded. "Yeah, we were talking earlier today when I was looking for Alyss. Actually, he was the one who suggested I bring her to christmas dinner." He admitted, as Rose walked straight into which ever twin was walking infront of them. He laughed under his breath, shaking his head. "Really Rose, you have to watch where you're going." He said with a smirk. Kyle felt someone run into his back, and turned, to apologize for walking so slow, when his eyes fell on the person he wanted to see least. "Oh." He said quietly. "Don't even worry about it. It's probably just as much my fault." He replied, as he pushed his hood back. He gave her a half smile. "Well, I'll see you around then." He said, letting the two walk ahead of him. Al's smirk turned a little darker as he watched the interaction between the two. "Nonsence! Walk with us. Seems you're heading down to dinner anyway." He said cheerfully. "And, just out of curiosity, have you seen Alyss?" He asked. Kyle nodded. "Yeah, she was in the commons a minute ago, when I left. She'll probably be up for supper." He replied, walking to the outside of Al, leaving him between himself and Rose. The girl probably didn't want to be anywhere near him now anyway... And probably thought he was a creep. Merlin forbid I think you're pretty. He thought to himself. |
Victoire had to laugh at his arrogance. Matt meant well, and that was all that mattered to her. "Oh, maybe you saw something in me that other people don't," She began, a small smile beginning to curve her lips, "Either that or a psychotic death wish." She held back her laughter as she began, "Wait until the rest of the Weasleys and Potters hear about all of this interhouse dating. They'll have a fit. But they'll just have to deal with it; I'm not letting anyone or anything pull us apart." |
Quote:
"Oh, hey Kyle. I didn't recognize you with your hood up." she said realizing who it was. Not that she would have noticed anyway. She wasn't really paying attention to anything. |
Matt smiled lovingly, and sat up one leg on either side of the bench, behind her as she sat cross legged. He wound his arms about her waist, and pulled her back against him, resting his chin on her shoulder. "I won't either." He said quietly, pushing her hair over her other shoulder, and placing a gentle kiss to her cheek. "I love you." He whispered in her ear. He knew it probably didn't mean much coming from him, being who he was, and given the rumors about tim floating around. But it was the truth, and she needed to hear it. Al nodded again. "Yeah, I did, actually. I wasn't shocked, because it's Teddy, and he's all about the rule breaking. But he was rather persistant about it." He shrugged, and turned to walk backwards, looking at the pair. He glanced up at Kyle, who was still not moving any closer to his cousin. "How was you're afternoon, Kyle?" He asked, with a plesant smile, trying to get the boy to talk. Kyle shrugged at Rose's comment. Of course she wouldn't, then again no one could really. From behind, unless their hair was visible, the twins looked exactly alike from back on. Same build, same general mannor of dress. "It was alright. I think the lack of sleep caught up with me in History of Magic, so I took the last three periods off." He said lazily, before yawning. "Yours?" He asked the both of them. |
Victoire couldn't help but smile as he spoke those words to her. She knew that he meant every word that he said and it made her stomach flutter every time he held her near. "I love you too, darling," She answered, glad to be in his arms as it should be. Looking about, her gaze caught the analog clock that lay magicked onto the wall with a permanent sticking charm. "I think we should go," She spoke a bit reluctantly, "Your team will be finishing practice soon, and the feast is about to begin." Victoire didn't desire to move one bit, but she knew how odd it would be for the rest of the Slytherin team to happen upon the two cozy lovers. |
Matt nodded. "Yeah, c'mon." He said, getting up and extending a hand to her. She was right after all. He walked her back to the castle, and stopped at the doors to the great hall. "I guess I'll see you later." He said softly, placing a last kiss to her lips. "I've got to have a word with my stuborn brother. See if his nap earlier brightened his mood any. Something tells that it didn't, at all." He said sarcastically, with a smirk. |
After her chat with Kyle, Alyss returned to her dorm for a bit. She started some of her essays and changed into something a bit more comfortable. Grabbing her ballet flats, she pulled them on and raced back tot he common room and then through the entrance. She wasn't hungry at all but she wanted to see if she could catch Al. Her talk with Kyle had her thinking. Maybe Al would be good for her, but she didn't want to get her hopes up. She needed to talk to him first before she got ahead of herself. |
Victoire let go of his hand rather reluctantly. "Alright, love. Good luck," But as she moved along, she noticed a rather odd trio. Was that Kyle, Rose, and Al all together in a little group? Victoire wanted to spit venom, knowing that Al treated Kyle like a human being while he continued to treat her boyfriend like scum. But she sucked up her pride, approaching the group as she figured that she could give Al a helping hand. "Hey," She smiled at all three, knowing that her sudden appearance might surprise them. "Al, could I have a word? It's about that essay that you were helping me on." She continued to smile but gave Al a certain look that told him to come immediately. |
Al arched an eyebrow at Victorie when she suddenly came walking up to them. The look in her eyes said not to question what she said, and just do it. He nodded, and shrugged. "Sure... I'll see you at the table Rose." He said, walking off with the blonde. "Ok, for one, I wasn't helping you want any essay. You've been too busy with Matt to even get a start on your homework. So what do yiu need me so despreatly for, that you had to pull me away from trying to get your plan into action?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest. He still wasn't thrilled with her, or her boyfriend for that matter. Even if he was trying to get his other cousin with her boyfriends brother. At least Kyle acted like a human being, and not some demi-god wannabe. |

Kyle shrugged, looking around for Matt, who was still nowhere to be seen. "Yeah, same here." He said with a half smile. If this were the previous day, he'd have asked her to come sit with him. But after the morning's revelation of how he felt, and how terribly she'd reacted, he figured it'd be best to leave it be. |

Alyss rounded the corner and stepped into the Great Hall. Giving the room a quick scan, she tilted her head slightly. Where should she go first? She did want to see Al, but at the same time she didn't want to seem too eager. She still needed to speak with Meg and Jay, but they didn't appear to be anywhere to be seen. Giving her hair a slight flip, she walked down the aisle and headed for her own house table. |

HAving her suggest going together made him smile a little, and brightened his mood ever so slightly. "Yeah, sure." He said, following her down into the great hall. Al groaned in frustration as Victorie walked away from him, fuming. It only sent him into a bad mood, which was not good. He still had to ask Alyss if she'd help them out, getting Kyle and Rose together. But as he entered the great hall, he spotted the pair walking in together. Maybe she'd taken his advice after all... Matt sat at the table, waiting for his brother to come in, and prepared himself for the most difficult conversation in life. Vic instead caught his eye first. She looked as if she'd kill the next person who got in her way. He made a mental note to ask her what had happened after. Thats when his eyes fell on the pair who entered just after she did. His twin, and Rose. A small smile spread across his lips, as he saw his brother actually smiling, albiet, only a little. So instead of taking him away from that, he sat back, and started eating alone, though, keeping an eye on the pair. |
Victoire sat down at the far end of the table, towards the staff table as she desired to see no one at the moment. She saw Kyle and Rose enter together but even the sight of the happy pair didn't make her smile. Biting her lip in conternation, Victoire took in a few deep breaths. Al worked her up to no end. If he wasn't going to change, then she would. Maybe avoiding him until they had to speak, such as around the holidays, would be better for all. Picking up her fork, she began picking at the vegetables that lay on her gilded plate, not in the mood to eat. Teddy took a seat at the staff table, Professor Slughorn almost immediately pulling him into a conversation. Teddy happily obliged, picking up his goblet of pumpkin juice. As Slughorn babbled on, Teddy's eyes scanned the great hall. From a distance, he saw Kyle and Rose enter. Maybe Al's plan had worked after all. Nearest to him was Victoire. She looked rather angry, so Teddy figured that it was better that he not approach her for fear of invoking her wrath and Matt's glares. Setting his goblet on the polished wood of the table, Teddy turned to Slughorn to contribute to the conversation. Slughorn seemed a bit hyped about the upcoming quidditch season. |

When they finally arrived at the Great Hall Rose looked over to the Gryffindor table. "Well I'm that way." she said motioning with her head toward the Gryffindor table. Then she had no idea what to say next. So instead of talking she just waved and began heading over. |
Kyle nodded once, and watched her walk away from him again. He sighed, and made his way towards the Slytherin table, and took a seat beside his brother. "Hey." He said quietly. "How come you're not over with Victorie?" He asked, arching an eyebrow. Matt shrugged. "She said she had to talk to Al about something." He replied, taking a sip from his glass. "That, and I needed to talk to you." He said, looking over at Kyle rather seriously. "Really, kid, you just need to suck it up, and take her out on a real date. So far, you guys have been talking, and hanging out. There hasn't been any real dates yet." He suggested. "Ask her to go to the Yule ball with you. I'm going with Vic, and Al is probably taking Alyss, so she'll be on her own... And we can't have that." Matt smiled a little, and glanced over at the red-head. "Vic already said she was going anyway. Might as well give her some company." |
Alyss glanced up and down their house table and grabbed her goblet of water. Sipping at it, she looked to see the twins just a little ways down the table. Getting up from her spot, she moved down. Scaring a few firsties as she did. "Did I hear my name?" she smirked. her ears did always perk a bit when her name was mentioned in conversations and she usually wanted to know what others were saying about her. "And I do agree with him, Kyle. I seriously think you should just grow a pair and ask her out on a REAL date. What do you have to seriously lose?" |
Kyle shrugged. "I don't know. I know you guys are right, but honestly, what's the point? She already made it clear that she's not interested in me at all." He said, poking at his food a little. "Maybe we're just not meant to be. I don't even care anymore..." He sighed. It wasn't true. He cared, a lot. But all this work, with no reward was making him tired. |
Alyss shook her head and sighed. "well obviously, she's worth it so you shouldn't be giving up so easily." she replied as she stared at some firsties. Why did they always have to eavesdrop on their conversation. Giving them a death stare, she heard some of them yelp and turn away. Yes, she still had it. Looking back to Kyle, she smirked. "Who ever said it was meant to be and that just because it isn't, you should try. Seriously, when has that every stopped any of us from going after what we want?" They were Slytherins and they were notorious for getting what they want by almost any means. |
Kyle looked up at Alyss, as if she was speaking a whole different language. "Alyss, this is ME we're talking about here. When have I ever gotten what I wanted? When have I ever been not a complete social-retard? Going after what I want, isn't going to work, so I'm giving up." He said sarcastically. Though she had a point, Kyle knew that the gods weren't in his favour, and he and Rose would never work out. It killed him to think that way, but at least, he only had to spend a few more months in the same building as her. Then, he'd be on the road, with as many girls flocking to him as he could handel... Not that any of them could ever compare to Rose... "Kyle, seriously." Matt said, dropping his fork to his plate with a loud clatter. Several first years looked over, their eyes wide with shock. "I'm getting really sick and tired of this 'my-life-sucks-because-I'm-a-rockstar' attitude. Suck it up, and ASK HER OUT. How else do you think I got Vic?" He said, looking over. "Stop feeling so bloody sorry for yourself, and just DO something about it. Whining isn't going to do you any good." Having finished his meal anyway, Matt stood from the table and pushed his chair back. "I'll be in the music room." He said, walking, or storming away. As much as he loved his brother, his attitude was driving him crazy latley. He did all he possibly could to cheer him up, and nothing worked. Even their music didn't help, it only seemed to make it worse. Sighing, Matt pushed the door to the music room open. He flopped down on the couch and picked up his guitar, playing something he'd heard a long time ago. Shockingly, Jay had introduced him to it one day back when the pair spoke like civil people. "Oh I'm begging you no. Theres more life left to go. Oh, I'm begging you please. 'Cause I, I don't want you to leave." He sang softly, looking up at the sealing. |
