Alyss finished up getting ready and made her way down to do her rounds. She did feel a bit odd being in jeans and not a skirt, but she had decided to be slightly different for this first trip. First dates were skirt kind of occusions, but this wasn't like a normal date for her and she just shrugged it off. Finishing her rounds, she walked back down to the Great Hall. It wasn't all that crowded, but she did notice that the hallways and corridors were very bare as well. Everyone was either sleeping in or off on the grounds. Hogsmeade day was always a treat for everyone. Walking through the doors, she glanced around quickly and made her way over to her usual spot, giving some firsties the eye. It was rather early, but she did like to terrify the firsties before breakfast. |

Meg arrived at the Great Hall. She looked around and spotted Aly at the Slytherin table. She went over and sat next to her. "So... tell me about last night." she said with a knowing smile. |

No sooner than entering the Gryffindor Common Room through the portrait hole, thinking the coast was clear, Victoire encountered the two people that she had least wanted to see. She could handle the whisperings of the gossipy students and passersby, but it was her family that she had been wanting to avoid. Running a hand through her ruined hair once more, she began monotonously, "Good morning to you both, too." She made her way across the room and towards the entrance to the staircase, wanting to be able to escape quickly before she was verbally attacked. Taking a breath, she began, looking hard at her cousins, "If you must know, it was nothing illegal or inappropriate." And turning quickly, she made her way up the staircase, hoping that they had understood than she had done nothing out-of-line. |
Al's jaw clenched. That meant she was with Matt. And when girls were off all hours of the night... Well.. He just knew what went on. "Oh?" He said, shortly. "You were with Matt, weren't you." He looked at her seriously. "And define inappropriate... Like, something cursing infront of a professor inappropriate, or something you wouldn't do infront of anyone ever inappropriate?" He stood up, crossing his arms over his chest, blood boiling. The thought of that... Person... Doing anything besides talk to Victorie was too much for his liking. |
Victoire stopped before turning the corner, her face as smooth as stone as her voice became stern. Leaning on the wall next to the staircase, she began, "I was clothed at all times. I just happened to fall asleep and this-" She gestured with her free hand to her smeared make-up and bedhead, "-came about. Satisfied with my answer?" Deep down, Victoire was almost proud of Al for caring for her so much. But that adoration diminished as Al became not just protective, but overprotective. He would have to learn how to deal eventually. |
"No, Victorie, I'm not." He snapped. He glared hard at her, steppong closer. "I know what he is... Everyone here does. There is no way I can believe that you two just 'fell asleep' together. And if you aren't going to tell me, I'll go talk to him myself. I'm sure he's more then willing to brag about the latest notch added to his bedpost." With that, Al turned on his heal and stormed out of the room. How could she just throw it all away like that? Her life... Her name... Her reputation... Everything, for that piece of Gargabe Matt Tuck. Well that was the last time he was going to take advantage of some girl. Al was going to put him in his place once and for all, and long before his cousin got hurt. |
Victoire clenched her teeth, forcing her jaw not to drop as Al stormed out. She knew where he was headed, and there was no way in hell that she was going to let events play out the way that Al wished that they would. And for Merlin's sake, it was a Saturday! It was a Hogsmeade weekend! Why, oh why, did Al have to go and attempt to ruin it already? Victoire threw an exasperated look at Rose, shaking her head as she began to speed-walk her way out of the Common Room, "Do you believe me, Rose?" She frowned, not sure if Rose thought the same as Al did. Victoire told the truth, at least most of the time. But this time, no lies had been in play. Al's suspicions had just gotten the better of him. Without waiting for an answer, Victoire shot of of the portrait hole, the Fat Lady screaming at her about being rude as she took two steps at a time down the Grand Staircase. Maybe Rose would tag along, maybe she wouldn't. Victoire hoped that she would; if Rose came along and if she believed Victoire, maybe Al would see reason. Catching a few bemused glances and snickers that "the bedhead blonde's got her knickers in a knot over something," Victoire continued along at lightning speed. |
Al entered the great hall and spotted both twins right away. Matt was in a positivly spectcular mood, which only ment one thing. He stepped up to the table beside Matt and tapped him on the shoulder. The dark haired boy turned around, only to meet a cold look from Al, which seemed to cause his smile to falter. "A word?" He said shortly. Matt nodded and followed Al into the halls, to a secluded corridor. "What was so bloody important that you had to keep my cousin out all night?" he asked, voice lom and vicious. Matt raised both eyebrows. "It was her choice to come with me. I walked her back to your commons, and she didn't want to go. So we went to the RoR, and talked for a while." He said, looking down at Al with a skeptcal look in his eyes. "Why does it matter to you?" "She's my cousin. And I will not let you do to her, what you've done to so many others." He snapped. "You aren't going to break her heart." His voice was full of loathing and mailce as he spoke to the older boy. "Leave her alone, or I swear... You'll regret it." Matt laughed a little, as he turned to walk away. "Ok Albus. Whatever you say." He replied, walking back to the great hall. But before he had the chance, he felt a strong grip on his arm, then he was hauled around, and smacked hard in the mouth. He stumbled backwards and looked at Al with suprise. "Now I didn't diserve that." He said, wiping the blood from his lip. "And I'm not fighting you." Al glared. "Stay. Away." Was all he said before storming away again. He left the castle and headed towards Hogsmead. He needed the time to cool down before his date with Aly. |
Alyss glanced up as she saw Al and Matt disappear out the door. She had stopped a confrontation before and she knew it was bound to happen again, but it wasn't her place to do it again. Whatever was going on probably needed to just happen. It was evident to her last night, Al had to get a few things off his chest with Matt. That was just how boys were, she guessed. Shaking her head, she looked back to Meg. "So....tell me how your talk with Jay went....things any better now?" She just hoped it was. As liberating as yelling at Jay was, she didn't want to have to do it all the time. |

Matt held the back of his hand to his now bloodied lip. "I'm fine." He said, seeing the look on her face. She still hadn't changed, probably because she was trying to stop Al from doing what he'd done. But, well, fail. He took his hand away, checking the amount of blood on it, and replaced it again, as he felt some run down his face. "He's got a strong punch for a little guy." He said lightly, trying to smile, but found it only further split his lip open. Kyle thought something was wrong when Matt didn't return, even 10 minutes later. He stood from the table and went to see what was wrong. He found him, and Victorie in the hallway, but no Al... And Matt's chin was leaking blood. Instantly, he started laughing. "Tell me you bit you lip." He said, pulling his brother's hand away. He laughed harder at the sorry sight. "Al. Albus Potter... Punched you." He stated, all but falling over from laughing, earning a rather hard jab in the ribs from his brother. "Ow..." He said, still laughing. "I'm sorry, but that's too funny." |
"Good morning," Victoire nodded curtly at Kyle, still aggravated at her cousin. She took her thumb to wipe off some blood that was dribbling down Matt's chin, smoothing it off quickly. "I... I don't even know what to do anymore. Al has officially become as mad as a hatter." She crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the wall, trying to keep her temper down. Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny had raised Al to be protective of loved ones, but this was going too far. Why didn't he believe her? If Victoire had been dating anyone else, even if she had been back with Teddy Lupin, Al would have been happy for his cousin and one of his best mates. And the cherry on top of the sundae was that Victoire had done far worse things with Teddy, things that she had pushed to the farthest corners of her mind once they had split. But now, she had simply fallen asleep in Matt's arms and NOW Al had to attack. She sighed, trying to comprehend the situation. |

Rose sighed frustratingly and left the common room alone. Why was it that there was always a fight with her cousins nowadays. She went down the stairs. She passed Victorie, Matt and Kyle outside the Great Hall. She gave Kyle a small wave before heading inside for some food. She took a seat at the Gryffindor table and began buttering some toast. |
Kyle wave back to Rose, smiling a little. She seemed to be in a better mood then the previous night. Perhapse the unicorn did.Hm, Note to self. She likes unicorns... Then again, what girl dosen't? He thought. "I'll meet up with you at The Hogs Head later." He said to his brother, before heading off to the great hall again. He found Rose alone at the Gryffindor Table and took a seat across from her. "Good morning." He said lightly. "Any idea why your cousin punched my brother?" He asked, trying to fight back the laughter. Matt shook his head. "No, it's alright, really. I see where he's coming from." He said, rolling his eyes. "It is me were talking about after all." He sighed and sank down a gainst the wall, still trying to get the bleeding to stop. He knew it wouldn't any time soon. "He's just looking out for you. Proper thing, I'd say." He said, looking up at her. She still looked concerned. "I'm fine. Really. Go on and get ready to go. I'll just go get some ice and it'll stop. Perhapse see the nurse, get her to make it go away before th show. Ugh, I can already tell this is going to scar... Lovely." He groaned, getting up and heading towards the hospital wing. If this was any indication of how today was going to go He thought bitterly I might as well go back to bed now. |

"I dont see why." He said, taking an apple from the basket infront of him. "It's not like he went all... Him... On her, or anything. If he did, he would have told me." He rolled at his eyes. His brother liked to brag about that sort of thing. "And he didn't, so I guess... They didn't." He shrugged, and took a bite from the apple in his hand. |
Victoire still leaned against the wall, thinking for a moment after Matt had left. What a way to start the day. Taking a breath, she stood and left the corridor, went into the Entrance Hall, and made her way back up the Grand Staircase towards the Common Room to get ready. She was so involved with the situation that she didn't notice the stares of passersby. A young student even paused on his way down to breakfast to ask, "Why so glum?" But she hadn't heard his words, simply continuing on her way. After the Fat Lady reluctantly let her back in after her "rude behavior" just moments earlier, she went to the girls dormitory and began to prepare for the day, trying to make quick work of her hair and other aspects of her mussed up appearance. |
After spending several of the most annoying minutes of his life with the school nurse, Matt made his way back down the stairs. Luckily, she caught it in time, and there was no swelling, just a thin, vertical cut running down the left side of his lip. And thankfully, it didn't tear open when he talked. Looking at the clock, and seeing that there was only another hour and a half until they were due to start, Matt continued on his way to the dungeons to pick up his gear. Once collected, he made his way on to Hogsmead, to wait for his brother. Victorie could meet him there. Al sat under a tree by the lake, glaring out across the still water at the lake monster, who was still flailing about. He tried to feel bad about punching the other in the face, but he couldn't. In a way, Matt deserved it. No, he probably hadn't done what Al assumed he had, but even so... He'd hurt so many people that Al knew, and were close with that it was justified... Kind of. But the more he thought, the more he realized that, maybe they did just fall asleep, after talking all night. Matt hadn't bragged, and Victorie, while looking flustered, had been even more so after seeing Teddy. He pouted a little, and stood, heading towards the village to wait for Alyss. |

Victoire had finished her morning regimen, having applied a fresh coat of make-up and having put her hair back in it's place. She stood in front of a full-length mirror, pouting as she stared at her clothes. She had dressed in jeans and a tee shirt, having thrown on a black leather jacket for the cold weather. She crossed her arms over her chest, not used to looking so casual. Deciding to leave her bag in the dorms, she put some galleons in her pocket, grabbed her wand, and made her way out of Gryffindor Tower. She felt odd, not being dressed in an uber-feminine way. The jeans felt wierd and new to her, but she considered them an advantage if she had the need to chase down Al later today. Victoire finally reached the path that led to the village of Hogsmeade, stuffing her hands in her jacket pockets as she strolled down the well-beaten path. |
Kyle waved a hand casually. "None taken." He replied with a small smile. "I know what you mean though. Matt and our mum have gotten in to a fair few arguments about his choices in the past, and I always got dragged into it. Eventually, I stopped caring." He sighed and finished off his apple, before glancing at the clock. "I better get going." He said, standing up, and picking his guitar case up. "I've got to go get things ready for later... Hope to see you there?" He said, a hopefull note in his voice. Matt arrived at the Hogs Head, and set up quickly. After checking to see if the piano was in tune, which it was, he sat down on one of the stools that were set up for them, and took his guitar from it's case. He had a while yet, and the bar was as good as empty. He started playing a few songs, warming up while he waited for his brother to come. Normally, the roles were reversed, and Kyle was waiting on him. This, was just weird. He laughed softly to himself, looking out the large street window, hoping to catch a glimpse of Victorie before he had to start. |
Victoire kept an eye out for anyone she knew once she reached the village. Many people were already roaming the streets, but only a few students were there. Besides, it was a bit early. Poeple from Hogwarts would be pouring in soon enough to escape the castle and grounds. She wound her way through the streets, looking into shop windows to examine different sales items every once so often. After a smile while, she made it to the Hogs Head. She looked through the window as she passed, catching a glimpse of Matt. A smile appeared on her face as she kept walking along until she reached the wooden door, pushing it open as a loud creaking sound emanated from the entryway. Making her way over to the bar, she took a stool next to Matt and began, "Good morning, stranger." |
Matt stopped playing and smiled over at her. "I don't think I should be seen with you." He joked with a smile, but stopped smiling as the cut on his lip began to tug. He leaned over and placed a quick kiss to her lips. "But good morning to you as well." He set his guitar in the stand and held her hands in his. "I didn't expect to see you here so early... I didn't even think you'd bother coming." He smiled a half smile and looked her over quickly. She certiantly looked the part of a rockstars girlfriend, while still looking as fashionable as possible. How she did it, he'd never know. |
"Don't be too rash," Victoire laughed, squeezing his hand as her eyes zeroed in on his cut lip. "...You really think I wouldn't come, just because Al's as mad as a hatter?" She smiled, her gaze moving upwards from his cut to look him in the eyes. Was it even possible for her to adore him even more with his battle scar? The answer was apparently yes. Pushing thoughts of her cousin aside, it made her melt to know that Matt was man enough to resist attacking Al right back. "Trust me, I wouldn't have missed this even if Voldemort himself had returned." She laughed softly at her own casual remark. |
Matt smiled again, regretting it as his lip started to sting. "Well, I guess that's a plus for me... Beautiful girl in the crowd..." He got up from his stool and wrapped his arms around her waist. "My beautiful girl in the crowd..." He kissed her again, a little less gently then he had in the past. He laughed lowly against her lips and pulled back. "Just so you know, Al's kinda scary when he's mad." He said with a laugh. |
Victoire laughed, placing her arms around his neck. "And my gorgeous boyfriend on the stage. It all works out." She tried to supress a frown, but every time she looked at the cut she was reminded of that morning's incident. "Al..." She shook her head, attempting to make light of the subject of her neurotic cousin. "I've never noticed." She laughed, continuing, "Maybe I'm just used to him." |
"I wouldn't go as far as gorgeous, but I can't deny the fact that I have a certian look that draws the ladies to me." He said, faking a pompus attitude. He laughed and rolled his eyes a little. "Don't worry about him. He can think what he wants about what happened. We know that nothing did." He rested his forhead on hers, looking into her eyes still. "And nothing will... Unless you want it to." He smiled a little, holding her a little closer. "I won't try anything, I swear. And if Al wants to punch me again for being a gentleman, then fine. I'll take it." |
Victoire grinned cheekily at his first remark. Now, wasn't that obvious. At his second remark, she bit her lip, a bit embarrassed. It was no secret that Victoire had a squeaky clean reputation, but that had somewhat changed once she had gotten involved with Teddy Lupin; the worst thing was, no one was the wiser. That was part of the reason why Teddy had hurt her so much when he initiated the split: he had become bored and, knowing that his good looks could snag him many others, decided to leave the relationship for his own sake. Of course Victoire had cried for weeks, her emotions constantly in limbo between misery and rage. But she had grown out of it, although it had taken a long time to do so. Considering that, Victoire wasn't about to take her chances with this one. Deep down, she knew that he would never do anything of the sort, but a voice in her head told her not to make the same mistake as before. "You won't have to take it," She began, smirking. "If he gets within a foot of you, I'll be sure to tackle him before she tries anything." She laughed softly once more, simply imagining the situation. |

Alyss frowned and nodded as she listened. Jay was still moody, who would have thought. "Yeah, he's going to be rather difficult for some time. That's so Jay for you." she sighed. He wasn't going to just let it go and she felt like she would be yelling at him a lot over the term. Oh joy for her. |
Matt laughed a little sighing contently. "That won't be necessary." He said, smirking. "I'll be ready for it next time. He totally sucker punched me, which was my own fault for turning my back on an angry gryffindor." He glanced out the window, looking for his brother, who was late. "Was Kyle on his way when you left?" He asked curiously. "He was supposed to be here half an hour ago." |

Whoops. Note to self: Don't burn things because you're furious with Al. Quote:
"Yeah... he even made the quidditch excuse. I'm so tired of him and that stupid game." she said. She needed to jinx something. That always made her feel better. To bad the only person she was currently frustrated at was Jay. |
Quote:
"You know how boys always give the Quidditch excuse...he's just being moody again. It's Jay, come on." she sighed. Really, that boy was more trouble than he was worth sometimes, but it wasn't like he was going to change or they would all ever stop being his friend. "Give him time. I'm sure he'll come around. I mean, seriously you own a team and I'm sure he'll be interested it that fact one day." Boys were such confusing creatures at time. Alyss really thought her dragon was easier to understand than boys. |
"No," Victoire glanced outside towards the window of the pub, trying to spot any familiar faces. "When I came down, I only saw a few third years getting an early start on the weekend. But I'm sure he'll be here soon." She glanced outside one more time, squinting as she peered through the ever-thickening crowd of magical folk. "Unless Rose is keeping him busy," She smirked, trying to hold down a snicker. |
"Yeah. Matt and I are playing at the Hogs head in..." He looked up at the clock. "Half an hour. Victorie said she was going, so I assumed you were as well." He said, walking backwards. "But I really have to get going. Hope to see you there." He called before turning and heading out of the great hall. Matt was going to kill him. He was NEVER late. Not that he was really all that late. It wasn't like they were supposed to have started already. He jogged through the growing sea of students and made it to the Hogs Head a few minutes later, slightly out of breath. "Sorry I'm late." He said, closing the door and walking over to the couple. "Somehow, I doubt that." Matt said with a laugh, as the door opened. "Well, well. Speak of the devil." He said, looking over at Kyle, still not letting go of Victorie. "What kept you so late?" He smirked a little, seeing his brother blush. "Wouldn't be a certian readhead, now would it?" He taunted. Kyle just shook his head, and started setting up, blushing more. "Perhapse you were right." Matt said softly in victorie's ear. "He only blushes like that when it involves her." |
Victoire simply nodded, muffling her laughter for Kyle's sake. Reluctantly letting go of Matt, she gestured towards Kyle. "Go on, do your soundcheck or whatever it is that rockstars do." She smiled, almost not believing the words that had just spilled out of her mouth. "I'll be fine here." Waving him off, she turned to call the bartender over. "I'll have a..." She skimmed the drinks that were available. But after eyeing the grimy dishes, she had to force a smile on her lips before speaking, "...actually, nevermind. Maybe later." |
Matt pouted as she pulled away from him, and turned to his brother, who instantly started laughing. "What!?" He said, looking at him. Kyle just shook his head and pulled over another stool to sit down on. "Is it really that noticable?" He asked, touching the cut on his lip. "Oh yeah." He said, smirking as he started to crack his knuckles. "But at least it's not swolen." He started playing a few scales and sweeps to warm up. He looked out the window at the slowly growing crowd and smirked a bit. "Think she'll come?" He asked, both Matt and Victorie, who obviously knew now. Matt shrugged. "I dunno. I heard something earlier about Albus having a date with Alyss, so I doubt she'll be with him." He said, looking between the two. "So I guess she'll be looking for Vic, who's here. Maybe she will, maybe she won't." He said with a shrug. |
"I'm with Matt on this one," Victoire crossed one leg over the over as she sat on the rickety bar stool, placing an elbow on the wooden counter as she rested her head on her hand. "I want to say she'll come, but she might want to avoid me... or avoid Al. You never know with that one." She peered around the crowd, trying to spot a ginger anywhere that she could. "Or maybe if she comes, she'll be in disguise?" She shrugged. "Maybe she'll want to enjoy the show and see you without having me 'hanging on her.'" |
Kyle sighed. "Right." He said, trying not to let it affect his mood. "Oh well then." He looked up as the bartender, and owner approached, asking if they were ready. He nodded, and looked to Matt. "Good to go?" Matt nodded once, and picked his guitar up again, sitting on the other stool in the small, stage-like area. "I suppose so. No amps to check, peddles to set. No mics to fiddle around with or moniters. I've got a stool, and my guitar, theres a piano over there... I'm as ready as I can be" He said, looking out the window at the small crowd of students, and a few staff, who were waiting to get in. "Open the doors, I say." |
Victoire knew it was her cue, standing and moving her stool to the side of the stage before sitting down once more. For once, it wasn't her time to shine, and she was completely fine about not being the center of attention. She looked towards the doors a bit anxiously, trying to determine whether the crowd would be comprised mostly of giggly underclassmen, who would be apt to scream at the top of their lungs at the slightest movement, or whether it would be simply comprised of true music fans who were interested in more than simply being groupies. |
Kyle watched the people from the streets pour inside the bar, filling the tables and booths. More still sat at the bar, and some lined the front of the stage. Most of which were fifth and sixth year girls who seemed to follow the pair around wherever they were. He noticed a few staff members near the back, which he found a little odd. The most he looked, the more people he saw that he knew. He wasn't nervous, it was just odd to see so many familliar faces in the crowd. He glanced over to Matt, who was focoused on one face in particular. As jealous at he was of their relationship, he was glad to see his brother so happy. It was rare to see Matt so spellbound by one girl like this, and when he was, Matt was generally a more plesant person. And as long as Kyle didn't have to drag him out of the deep, dark hole of depression, it was all good. He nudged his brother to get his attention. "What first?" He asked, when his brother looked over. Matt thought. The first song for these kinds of things was always a difficult decision. It had to be a cover, so people knew it. It couldn't be too ballad-y, or else the guys would leave, thinking this was just another ploy to get chicks. And it couldn't be to heavy either, or the girls would leave. He looked around the faces in the audience and then back to Kyle. He thought for a second longer, and found it. "Nothing Else Matters." Kyle nodded, and adjusted himself on his stool. Both boys knew it sounded better in their own arrangement, but Kyle had neglected to bring his cello, therefor, guitars would have to do. Matt looked out at the fairly large, for a bar gig in the wizarding community, crowd. "Hey guys, I'm Matt, That's Kyle, and we're here for, well, most of the day to play for you fine people." He said, starting to play the opening riff to Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, along with Kyle. "You might know this one, and if you do, sing along." He smiled a little, before taking a breath and starting to sing, his eyes locking with Victorie's. "So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are And nothing else matters Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say And nothing else matters Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us something new Open mind for a different view And nothing else matters Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know But I know So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are And nothing else matters Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know But I know Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say And nothing else matters Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us something new Open mind for a different view And nothing else matters Never cared for what they say Never cared for games they play Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know And I know So close no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are No nothing else matters" (OOC: Black = Harmony. Oh... that would make sense seeing as he had a guitar with him. Rose waved bye and finished her breakfast. She then wandered into Hogsmeade alone. She had to run a few errands, but decided afterwards to stop by the show. She went and got new quills and parchment. And afterwards made her way towards the Hog's Head. She could hear music as she neared. Looks like they'd already started. Quote:
"So... has Jay always been this infuriating...? Or have I just been oblivious to it?" Maybe she would take Parker's advice of just not finishing school and moving to America. A quidditch team would make her enough to support herself, right? |
Quote:
"Um....yes. I mean, come on it's Jay. We have known him since we were in nappies. He's always been a bit of a handful and you know how infuriating I find him," she laughed as they made their way down toward the village. "Remember it's Jay. He's always going to be infuriating and we will remain his friends. Yes, we might attempt to hex him or yell at him, but at the end of the day, we are still his friends." Jay was seriously more infuriating this term, but she just shrugged it off to him being moody and all. She just hoped it was a phase and things could get back to normal again. |
Before the song started, Victoire threw the twins a grin and a small thumbs up for good luck. She scanned the crowd once, noticing that Rose had arrived. She gave her cousin a small, reconciliatory smile, hoping that she would notice her presence, or even want to be in Victoire's presence. But once the opening riffs of the song began, her eyes traveled back towards the stage as the song commenced. She couldn't help noticing Matt look her way, and a slight pink flush crept up her cheeks. Was he singing this for her? She found herself swaying a bit to the slow song, the melody enchanting her like no tune ever had before. At the end of the cover, a load roar came from the crowd, a few girls swooning. But she paid no attention to them as she locked eyes with Matt, her smile the biggest that she had ever grinned before as she began to clap along with the crowd. |

Matt nudged Kyle's knee with his own when he saw Rose enter the pub. But as their first song ended, he found himself looking back to Victorie. She was smiling like he'd never seen, which only made him do the same. As the crowd clapped, he glanced away, back at hs brother. "You're solo this time. Impress her. She's right at the back." He said lowly, so only Kyle would hear. Kyle nodded slowly, looking towards where he had been. And sure enough, there she was, looking less the pleased. He hoped that she didn't think she had to be there, because he mentioned in passing that he was playing there. Even if he did, why had she shown? "Go get some water." He said, hinting to Matt that he didn't need his help, in any form. Matt smirked, and got up from his stool, walking back towards where Victorie sat, alone. He stood behind her, and wound his arms around her thin waste. "Apparently, he dosen't need my help on this one." He said in her ear. "Not that he ever really dose. He's got the better voice out of the both of us, just hates to admit it." He rested his chin on the top of her head and nodded towards his brother, telling him silently to go on. Kyle took a deep breath, looking at the eyes looking at him. It didn't phase him. "So, this is another cover. It's called Three Libras, by A Perfect Circle. Normally, it's done with a full band, but I'll try and do it justice with just me." He said with a smile, as he started playing a pretty, flowing melody on his guitar. He watched Matt nod once, telling him it was a perfect choice of song. He took a breath, blocking out the giggling girls, and focousing on nothing but the music, and started to sing. "Threw you the obvious And you flew with it on your back A name in your recollection Down among a million, saved Difficult enough to feel a little bit Disappointed, passed over. When I've looked right through, To see you naked but oblivious and you don't see me But I threw you the obvious, Just to see if there's more behind the Eyes of a fallen angel, Eyes of a tragedy. Here I am expecting just a little bit Too much from the wounded But I see, See through it all, See through, And see you. 'Cause I threw you the obvious Do you see what occurs behind the Eyes of a fallen angel Eyes of a tragedy Oh well, oh well. Apparently nothing, Apparently nothing at all. You don't,You don't You don't, see me You don't, You don't You don't, see me You don't, You don't You don't, see me You don't, You don't You don't see me You don't see me You Don't, You don't You don't see me at all" (Link to the song, incase you don't know it = YouTube - 6. 3 Libras - A Perfect Circle Very Pretty song.) |
Victoire had been about to open her mouth in reply to Matt when Kyle began playing, so she kept quiet for the moment. Through the dim lighting, Victoire had no chance of making out Rose in the back of the large crowd. Hopefully she would listen to Kyle, take some notice for once. During the song, a small smirk appeared on her lips as she considered Rose and Kyle. The lyrics seemed to fit almost perfectly to their situation. As the song ended, another loud cheer went up from the crowd as Victoire began to clap in unison with a group of nearby students. Kyle was an amazing guy; if only Rose were able to see it and get the gall to go after him, it would all work out. |
Matt clapped along with the crowd, albeit lazily, and his brother finished. Hopefully, Rose at least heard him. He knew it was futile to keep trying to shove him into talking to her, but with that choice of song, perhapse something would spark her intrest. "See what I mean? Better singer." Matt said in Victorie's ear, before kissing her cheek. "I'll be back in a bit." He said, walking back up to the stage. He sat down behind the piano, which kind of shocked everyone. He looked up at the crowd and smiled a little, causing a few girls near the front to collapse into a fit of giggles. Kyle looked back, silently asking if he wanted him to stay, and Matt just shook his head. Kyle shrugged and got up, laying his guitar back in it's case, and headed towards the bar. "Now, I normally don't do this..." Matt started, cracking his knuckles. "Normally, we'd stick to just cover songs, and something with lyrics." He looked from the piano to the group of people, who were looking back curiously. "So count yourselves lucky." He laid his hands on the keys, and started playing New Moon (The Meadow), with an ease that came naturally to him. He closed his eyes, not even needing to look at the keys. Kyle took a seat beside Victorie, getting a glass of water from the bartender. "He's a genious when it comes to piano." He said quietly to her. "Always has been, actually. I don't see why he dosen't play for people more often." He took a sip from his glass and watched his twin, smiling a little. He knew how much Matt hated the new vampire trend in the muggle world, but he loved the composer who'd written the piece. And he could see why. It was very beautiful... Haunting almost. (OOC: Link to the song again = YouTube - Alexandre Desplat - New Moon (The Meadow) Normally I hate anything to do with Twilight and that garbage, but I find the music on the soundtracks quite good.) |
Victoire simply smiled as Matt walked off, saying, "Good luck," quickly before he was out of ear shot. What was next... a super heavy song that would show off the mad skills of the Tuck twins? Another cover? But then Matt sat on the piano and Victoire felt her heart melt. It seemed like every guy on the face of planet earth knew how, or wanted to learn how, to play the guitar. But he played the piano as well? She bit her lip, a bit embarrassed at how he continued to amaze her and drive her mad. "That was..." Victoire began after the song had ended, not having dared wanted to interrupt the melodious flow of music with her voice, "... mesmerizing." She turned back to Kyle as more cheers came. "Do you play as well? Because I know she would fall for that hook, line, and sinker." |

"Shopping always makes me happy." she beamed. It was one of the most therapeutic activities ever, in her opinion. Besides, a girl could never have too much stuff. "Jewelry and shiny things always help me forget. Where should we start?" |
Seeing Kyle and Victorie talking together, and liking the reaction the crowd had given him, Matt shrugged and started to play another classical piece. One he'd known since he was a kid, and had been drilled into his head, so well that he didn't even need the music infront of him like most people did when playing. He glanced over at Victorie, who like most girls in the room, was in a trance. He smirked, never realizing that perhapse classical music was the way to a girl's heart. Kyle shrugged. "I can, though I was trained on cello when I was a kid. Mum was big into the classical thing. Matt went into piano lessons, and I went into cello." He said, finishing off his glass of water. "Thats how I got into bass, which is what I would be playing now, were the rest of our band not muggles..." He rolled his eyes a little. Matt had started playing another classical piece, the Moonlight Sonata, now, and more girls were swooning. "If I had my cello with me, which I forgot to bring like Matt told me, we would have done Nothing Else Matters all classical-like." He said with a laugh, as Matt flowed seemlessly from the first movement of the Sonata to the second. "Ok, watch him play the third part of this, it's so intense... And he dosen't, look, at, the, keys. But dose he miss a note? No." He said, watching Matt move into the third piece of the Sonata, playing with a skill that had been sharpened since he was a kid. "He's so..." Victoire struggled to find a word to fit how effortlessly and beautifully Matt played the piano, "...phenomenal. I can just imagine if you would have had your cello." At that movement, movement three had begun andd she obeyed Kyle's instructions. "Wow," She mouthed, turning to give Kyle an incredulous look. Turning back to watch Matt perform, she continued, "I guess your mother pushed you both hard when it came to instruments. My mother tried to teach me violin way back; it didn't work out." She smiled softly, remembering those trying pre-pubescent times. |
Kyle nodded, shrugging a little. "Pushed isn't really the right word." He said, running a hand through his hair. "She's a classically trained violinist, so she always encouraged us to play. Matt stuck with the super classical side, and went with Piano, and I started on cello." He explained, watching Matt start in on another piece, possibly something he'd written himself, because Kyle couldn't recognize it. "Our music teacher introduced us to metal when we were still kinda young, and we switched. Matt still plays all the time at home." He finished off his drink and looked around the room at the swooning girls. "Think I should go save him before he gets mobbed by rabid fangirls?" He laughed. |
Rose stood in the back and listened as the twins performed. They sounded fantastic. Kyle gave a solo piece. And then Matt played the piano. Maybe Matt wasn't such a bad guy after all. She was a firm believer that anyone who could play beautiful music couldn't possibly be a horrible person. Maybe she'd have to find Al and drag him in here. She inched toward the door and stuck her head out to see if she could spot her cousin. Surely he wasn't on his date yet. Quote:
She jiggled her money bag. "I vote anywhere we can blow this month's allowance. I believe I have arm muscles just because of how rich I am. I swear, I really need my own personal house elf just to carry my money bag." she said with a laugh. It was really ashame that there wasn't a jewelry store in Hogsmeade. That was what she really needed. |
"Still, it's lovely that your mother takes pride in her work. My mother... I think the only thing she cares about nowadays is French cuisine and keeping herself looking fit," Victoire laughed softly, wishing that Mother FLeur would have taught her something practical, or would have pushed her to play violin instead of trying and giving up so quickly. "And yeah, go on," Victoire smirked, eyeing the fangirls, "Just be sure they don't attack you next." And laughing softly, she gave Kyle a little push as Matt's original song had ended. |
Al had finished his shopping for the day, and still had pleanty of time before his so called date with Alyss. His nerves had settled down a little over the last hour or two, but he still needed to talk to Victorie, and perhapse, if the mood strick him right, apologize to Matt. Not that he was actually sorry, the guy did need a good punch in the face... He just felt bad that Vic had seemed so upset. He headed towards The Hogs Head, seeing the mass amounts of people inside. Most noteably, Rose. Her head was poked out the door, looking about for something. He smiled a little and walked up. "Heya." He said, pushing his way inside. He stood beside her, as someone up front was playing a rather moving piece on the piano. "Which twin was that?" He asked, rather impressed, as he attempted to get a look at the front. But the song ended, and the people around started clapping. He shrugged, clapping as well. Kyle gave her a quick smile before fighting his way back to the front. Several girls giggled, or sighed, as he gently pushed them aside. Matt looked up, as he was about to start another song. Kyle just shook his head, and Matt got up again, taking a seat on the stool beside his. "Vermillion?" He mouthed, arching an eyebrow. Matt nodded. Ah, great. Yet another song that was generally vocally dominated by himself. Yay... Not. He shrugged and gave a count, as both boys started playing at the same time. She seemed dressed in all of me, stretched across my shame. All the torment and the pain Leaked through and covered me I'd do anything to have her to myself Just to have her for myself Now I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do when she makes me sane. She is everything to me The unrequited dream A song that no one sings The unattainable, Shes a myth that I have to believe in All I need to make it real is one more reason I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do when she makes me sad. But I won't let this build up inside of me I won't let this build up inside of me I won't let this build up inside of me I won't let this build up inside of me A catch in my throat choke Torn into pieces I won't, no I don't wanna be this... But I won't let this build up inside of me I won't let this build up inside of me I won't let this build up inside of me I won't let this build up inside of me She isn't real I can't make her real She isn't real I can't make her real (OOC: Link for the song. Reaching for her own money bad, she jiggled hers along with Meg. "This month's allowance is rather heavy, but you know only the best for us," she smirked. There were advantages to being who they were and they did love to reap the benefits as much as they could. "Tell me about it, my arm is a bit sore already and I have a feeling the next few months' allowances will be the same if not more." She wasn't going to complain for the extra, but there were very few places where they could really spend it all at. "Well, how about we start with some new robes and then move from there?" she suggested. If jewelry wasn't an option, more clothing was usually a close second. |

Victoire clasped her hands to her lap and began to nod her head to the melody of the next song, her eyes travelling over the crowd to gauge their reactions. Most people were enjoying it, except for a group of "too cool" third years that were standing in the back with blank faces, looking like they'd rather be eaten by a hippogriff than be at the performance. Expertly and sneakily slipping her wand from her pocket, she positioned it under a table and aimed at one of the more surly boys of the group. Mumbling a spell, a few sparks came out of the tip of her wand and a moment later, the boy was now standing up and also nodding his head to the music, a small, dumb smile on his face. His friends, after a moment of shock, followed the leader and began to do the same. Had Victoire just performed an unforgivable curse? Maybe, maybe not. Suddenly, a light from the outside pierced the dim lighting of the Hogs Head. A figure had entered and promptly shut the door. The person had looked like a male to her, but no matter. Simply another person that had come to enjoy the show. |

Al raised both eyebrows in a skeptical look at his cousin. "Really? Matt?" He said. He laughed, thinking it funny how someone so stupid, and insensitive, could play something so beautiful. And as they both started singing again, he remembered why they were so popular. Both had fantastic voices even if Matt was a jerk. He noticed a group of third years standing around, drinking fake cocktales, with an attitude about them that gave the impression of being better then everyone else. He was about to say something to them, when the largest of the boys suddenly straightened up, and started nodding slowly to the music. Weird... He though, looking around the room. Instantly, he spotted Vic, with a devious smile on her painted lips. "I'll be back." He said to Rose, before making his way towards his other cousin. He quickly sat on the vacant stool beside her. "I saw that." He said slyly. "Proper idea though. They were driving me nuts with their pointless chit-chat." He said, smiling lopsidedly at her. His eyes flicked up to the stage, watching both the twins singing their hearts out, Matt with a very noticeable gash running vertically down his lower lip. He laughed, taking pride in maring that apparently 'handsom' face. Matt had been watching Victorie as he sang, until Albus made his way towards her. Probably gloating about sucker punching him in the face. Instead, be adverted his eyes towards the rest of the crowd. Their song ended, and he reached down to get the bottle of water beside his stool. "What next?" He muttered to Kyle. Kyle shurgged. "I don't care, as long as you do most of the singing." He said, taking a long drink from his own water. He nearly choked, as he looked out at the crowd. Right in the front row, stood a familliar figure, he knew Matt would not be pleased with seeing. His eyes widened as the figure waved, smiling as if they were still best friends. "Matt..." He said, very quietly, hardly moving his lips. "You might want to leave." He looked up, instantly spotting Her. Lex. Right infront of him, with a smile on her pierced lips. Her long purple-blue hair fell over her shoulders, framing her flawless face perfectly. Even in a t-shirt and a pair of faded and torn jeans, she looked beautiful, and it killed him. Kyle looked over, a look in his eyes that told him to get out now, while he had the chance. But Matt just shook his head, even though he felt a lump in his throat, the size of a golf ball form. Who did she think she was, coming here like that? They hadn't spoken in over a year, and she ramdomly shows up to a concert they put off? That was hardly fair. He looked straight at her, and she looked back, through heavy liner and shadows that made her acid green eyes shimmer. He was at a complete loss for words, as his heart started aching, longing almost. He sighed, and adverted his eyes again, down to his guitar as her started to play. Kyle instantly joined in, knowing the song well, from a muggle film they'd seen. It was called Leave by Glen Hansard. It was normally Kyle's song, but Matt knew that he'd understand, and back off... Besides, his brother still had others. He took a deep breath, and started singing softly. "I can't wait forever is all that you said Before you stood up And you won't disappoint me I can do that myself But I'm glad that you've come Now if you don't mind Leave, leave, And free yourself at the same time Leave, leave, I don't understand, you've already gone And I hope you feel better Now that it's out What took you so long And the truth has a habit Of falling out of your mouth But now that it's come If you don't mind Leave, leave, And please yourself at the same time Leave, leave, Let go of my hand You said what you came to now Leave, leave, Let go of my hand You said what you had to now Leave, leave, Leave, leave, Let go of my hand You said what you have to now Leave, leave..." Victoire had turned away from the imperiused boy and had begun once more to enjoy the show when a presence made her turn once again. It was Al, acting is if nothing had happened, as if they had remained as if Matt had never walked into her life at all. Was Victoire ready to bury the hatchet? Only time would tell. She made an effort to smile as she spoke, "You're welcome. I just felt the need to put him in his place." Following Al's gaze, she noticed that he laughed as he looked at Matt. Victoire gritted her teeth. She would berate him for being an imbecile, but now was not the time nor the place. She averted her eyes back to the stage once the song had ended. Most people didn't seem to notice that the atmosphere about the stage had changed, but Victoire did. Matt and Kyle seemed tense. They couldn't possibly be nervous; they had just performed crowd-pleasing songs. So why the upset faces? Following Kyle's gaze, she noticed that they fell on a girl who stood at the front. From Victoire's angle, she couldn't quite make out her face but saw that the girl definitely had multi-colored hair. Putting all grudges aside, she elbowed Al and began to speak, just as the second song began, "Hey, see that lass up in front? The one that looks like Teddy's mother?" That was the only comparison that Victoire could make. When they had been together, Teddy had shown Victoire one of his prized possessions: it had been a picture of him as an infant, his father, Remus, and his mother, Nymphadora, cooing over the baby boy as he had been playing with his own ability, changing the shape of his nose and changing the color of his hair. His mother, at the time, had had purple hair, with a slight tinge of blue in her layered locks. |
Al shifted around a little, and nodded. "Yeah. Pretty thing. She came in with me... Held the door for her." He said, still trying to get a good look at her face. "Think she said her name was Lex? I dunno, I wasn't really paying attention. She was way to gorgeous." He said, looking back to the boys. There was a look on Matt's face, like pain mixed with 'I want to throw my guts up'. He watched as the dark haired twin stood up, and lay his guitar back in his stand, and without a word, left the building. "What was that about?" He muttered. Kyle watched his brother leave, not sure what to do. "We're just going to take a break for a few minutes." He said, laying his guitar on it's stand and following his brother. He opened the bar door, expecting to see Matt, cigarette in hand, but no. He walked down the street a littlem and looked down the ally beside the building, and saw him there, talking with Lex. Well, not so much talking as yelling. "How dare you... How dare you think that after all the crap I put up with from you, you can waltz back into my life like nothing ever happened!?" He said with a fiercness that hardly eve came out. Lex shrugged. "I dunno. It's been a year and a half. I thought you were over it." She looked up at Matt, a perfectly sculpted eyebrow arched. "Over it? You thought I was over it." He laughed, running his hands through his hair. "You broke my effing heart. You ruined me. I can't trust anyone, I can't even tell my girlfriend -- Yes, my GIRLFRIEND -- that I'm in love with her!" He glared, pacing the ally. He let out a frustrated groan, and turned to face her. "Get out." He snapped. "Just... Go. I can't even look at you. Not after what you did." When she didn't move, he turned away from her, hands firmly planted on his hips. Still, she didn't leave. |
"Lex?" Victoire clenched her jaw, recalling memories of what Matt had told her just the night before. The crowd had odd looks on their faces: some remained indifferent, others murmuring that the boys would return soon, and a few had simply left. Victoire turned to Al, a look that was a mix of fury and concern plastered onto her features. "I'm going to ask you a favor, and a rather large one at that. Can you try and keep the crowd entertained for a moment? Try doing some tricks that Uncle Harry taught you, that'll pacify them for a bit." Without waiting for an answer, Victoire bolted out of her chair and towards the door. Once reaching the door, she turned to see Rose leaning against the wall. "The twins are in trouble. You coming?" She asked, a serious look on her face. A moment of silence passed, a moment that was a bit too long for Victoire's liking. "If you won't do it for me, do it for Kyle." And with that, she bolted out of the door and began looking in every nook and cranny for the sign of a Tuck, of any Tuck. If Rose was to follow, she would only have to find a sheet of blonde hair flying to and fro about the cobbled streets. Before she reached the alley, she knew where Matt would be. His voice seemed to echo down past a few buildings. She quickly jogged her way over to the entryway of the alley and stopped, seeing Kyle witness some sort of situation between Matt and Lex. Taking a breath to steady herself, Victoire crossed her arms over her chest and made her way down the alley, trying to stay calm. |
"Victorie, Don't!" Kyle muttered, trying to reach for her. But it was too late, she was too far out of reach, and ear shot. This will not end well... Not at all. Kyle thought, leaning against the wall, waiting for the all out catfight to begin. He had a feeling that She knew about Matt's past life with Lex, which is what worried him. If he wanted to see Lex under an unforgiveable for what she did to Matt, he couldn't imagine what his Girlfriend wanted to do. "Oh yeah, because I really did that. Might I remind you that WE WERE ON A BREAK!" She snapped back, turning him back to face her. "So technically, I wasn't even with you!" She practically shouted. She didn't even notice the approaching blonde Matt glared. "A break, and a break-up, are NOT the same thing." He replied coldly. "And YOU made that decision all on your own, because you thought that you couldn't trust me. Turns out, you were the liar." She returned the glare. "Ok yeah, so I did something I'm not proud of. How dose that constitute 'ripping your heart out'? Matt's blood preasure was rising. "You cheated. Lied. Made me fall in love with you." He took a deep breath. "And then when I found out what you did..." His voice trailed off. She laughed. "Look at you. You're pathetic." She shook her her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "It's your own fault that you can't man up, get over me, and tell this supposed 'girlfriend' bimbo of yours that you love her. I had nothing to do with that." |
Victoire stood for a moment, almost surprised that she let the argument go on as long as she had let it. She had heard Kyle's words, but just barely. By this time, she had uncrossed her arms and was standing with her hands to her side, fists clenched. She laughed. "Look at you. You're pathetic." She shook her her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "It's your own fault that you can't man up, get over me, and tell this supposed 'girlfriend' bimbo of yours that you love her. I had nothing to do with that." "Excuse me?" Victoire snapped, knowing her terse interupption would get Lex's attention. Her heart was thundering as her mind was spinning through a roller coaster of emotions. Firstly, who the bloody hell did Lex think that she was, not even having known Victoire before spitting insults about her? Secondly, did Matt really love her? For the moment, Victoire tried to push that thought to the side, although Lex's words and voice wouldn't get out of her mind. |
Matt's head snapped towards the new voice in the ally way. Victorie was standing a few feet away, and he didn't even hear her walking towards them. "Stay out of this." He said slowly, voice shaking with anger at the other girl. "This isn't your battle to fight." He looked back to Lex, glaring so hard that she should have dropped dead. "I can't man up? Ha, right. More like I can't trust another human being, besides Kyle, with anything. Because you ruined it. You went off with Aiden, and you broke my heart. And now that I've found someone who's better then you in every way possible-" He pointed towards Victorie. "- I can't even bring myself to tell her how I really feel, because I can't let myself be put in a position to have my heart ripped out again. And it effing sucks because I love her. I do. And I can't even look her in the eyes and tell her that, because of you." Lex looked from the blonde, back to Matt, and laughed. "That's your girlfriend?" She said skeptically. "She's not even you're type." She looked Victorie over quickly and laughed again. "C'mon, you can't be serious." The look on Matt's face didn't change, it just stayed as serious as it had been. "Ok fine. She is. Still though, me, break your heart? Aren't you the king of that? At least someone finally showed you what it's like." |
Victoire was completely torn. She wanted to stop and fight the murderous feelings, run away and find somewhere to sit, breathe and calm down. But the monster within was raging, clawing at her insides as it told her to attack. Every nerve and fiber of her body was tense as the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Matt spoke the truth, this wasn't her battle to fight. But Lex had hurt him, and had hurt him bad. And yet she was standing there as calm as if she had been back at the Hog's Head, having a drink of firewhiskey, while Matt looked as if he was going through emotional agony. Victoire had to make a decision, and make one fast. Victoire braced herself as she marched up to the pair, positioning herself between the two ex's. "Can we stop the effing madness!?" She yelled, just as one of the pair had been about to yell out another insult. "It's obvious, you two have issues that run deep. But why are you having it out in an alley? Can't this be done in a civilized manner?" She heaved a deep breath as she glanced between Lex and Matt. Victoire surprised herself with her own commanding authority and maturity. |
"I think I remember now why we split." Lex said, starting to walk away. "Theres no being civil with him. I wish you luck." She said, walking out of the ally, waving once to Kyle, who just glared. As Lex walked away, Kyle turned the corner and jogged towards Matt, who looked like he was about to throw up. He was pale, shaking, and the tears in his eyes were begging to slip free. He shook his head. "She shouldn't have come." He said, stepping towards his twin. He felt his brothers agony, and wished he could do something to help. Matt shook his head, choking back to tears. "No, she shouldn't have." He muttered, glancing quickly to Victorie, who clearly had ignored the fact that he'd just said that he loved her. She was standing right there, when he shouted the fact to Lex, and she just ignored it. There was no 'I love you too'. There was no hug, or kiss. She had just stepped between himself and Lex, and told them to stop fighting. Apparently, she didn't feel as strongly for him as he hoped. |
Victoire stood, her heart still thundering as Lex walked off. But it seemed as if the battle was over. She turned to see Kyle comforting Matt. Sure, the fight with Lex was over, but something else seemed entirely wrong, and it didn't help how she felt. There had been so many words thrown back and forth between the two ex's, it was hard to distinguish what was right from wrong, what Victoire had heard clearly and what she had missed completely between the insults and the shouting. She had never been in a situation like this before and it was hard for her to cope. Would it be better to leave Kyle to comfort Matt, or should she take the lead and take over? Turning to look at Matt, she smiled weakly and spoke, "...Darling? Are you alright?" Those were the only words that had come to mind. |
Matt turned to her, his heart tearing inside his chest. Between the fact that the one who'd ruined his life had shown up randomly, and the fact that his girlfriend wouldn't even acknowledge the fact that he'd just said something that shouldbe a big deal, he could hardly qualify as alright. "Alright?" He said slowly, voice soft, and shaking. "No, I am not alright. I tell you that I love you and all you can say is 'are you alright?'" Matt laughed and turned from her again, sinking down against one of the walls of the ally. Kyle sat down beside Matt and slung an arm around his brother's shoulders. It was hard to see him like that, and he didn't know what to do to help. "C'mon, we should go back to the castle. We're done here." |
Victoire stood in stunned silence. He loved her; he loved her; he effing LOVED her. Her thundering heart seemed to stop. Why did her blonde genes have to kick in at that moment? She didn't know what to do but walk away, and that's exactly what she did. Once she had reached the entryway to the alleyway, she turned to see Kyle comforting Matt once more. What had she done? She walked away slowly, biting her cuticles rather nervously as she walked aimlessly. She felt tears welling in her eyes as her shoes click-clacked on the cobbled streets of Hogsmeade. He loved her, and she had ignored him. He loved her, and she hadn't said a word about it. How was she supposed to react to that? It wasn't that Victoire was repulsed, it was that... she wasn't sure how to bloody deal with it. No boyfriend, not even Teddy Lupin, had ever spoken those words to her. She noticed that as she tried to hold in her tears, her body began to shake. Stopping by an empty, vacant establishment, she stopped in her tracks and leaned against the brick wall, tears beginning to flow freely down her face as sobs racked her body. She was so confused and wasn't sure how to feel, what to do. Deep down, she knew that she loved him, loved him more than anyone that she had ever been with. But she had screwed everything up: everything that they had worked for, everything that had happened, she had just completely, effing screwed it up. It seemed that all was lost. Vigorously running a hand through her hair to keep it out of her tear-stained face, a few invectives escaped her lips as she berated herself for effing up everything. |
As Victorie ran off, Matt leaned his head back against the wall, his own tears leaking slowly down his face. He laughed to himself, and wiped them away. He turned his face towards his brother, smiling sadly. "What the hell is wrong with me man? How did I manage to lose two girls in one day?" He laughed and looked back up, cursing to himself, while laughing sadly still, more tears running down his face. "Go figure. I try this whole relationship thing again, and it blows up in my face. I'm not cut out for this." He sighed. "Go on, kid. You go back inside. I'm gonna go back to the castle and finish off that firewhisky." He stood, and wiped his eyes in the sleeve of his hoodie, before walking off, in the opposite direction that Victorie had. Kyle sighed and stood as well. There was clearly nothing he could do to cheer his brother up. He shook his head and left the ally, looking for Victorie. He found her not too far away, and approached slowly, hearing the string of explatives coming from her lips. "Victorie?" He said softly, resting a hand on her shoulder. "Look, don't worry about him. He's not mad at you, not by any means." He said. "He's just upset in general... This whole Lex thing shook him up pretty badly." He looked up and saw Matt's lone figure walking away, towards the castle. "He's heading back to the school, if you wanted to talk to him..." He took his hand from her shoulder and smiled a little, walking back towards the Hogs Head. |
Victoire almost jumped, turning to see Kyle. She listened to him in silence, her face a blank slate. Kyle was too kind. Victoire honestly felt that she was the one who had messed things up and was ready for her punishment, was ready to stay away from Matt now that he was angry with her. But through her own self-berating thoughts came Kyle's words. Either he spoke the truth and Matt wasn't mad at her at all, or he simply was trying to make her feel better. But either way, he had gestured in the direction that Matt had left in. Her eyes now dry, she sniffed as she gazed into the distance. She saw a little dot in the distance, hunched over and in almost complete black. It could only be Matt, especially since no one would be heading back to the castle this early. She took a deep breath, put on a strong face, and began to speed walk in the same direction. But it wasn't helping much, as Matt seemed to be going faster. So she began to jog, which turned into a run that caught the stares of a few passersby. But amazingly, she still hadn't managed to catch up. She stopped to think for a moment. They technically weren't at Hogwarts or on the grounds yet, so what would stop her from apparating? Closing her eyes and turning on the spot, she miraculously poofed next to a weeping willow situated on the side of the dirt path that connected the village to Hogwarts. Having arrived at her destintion, she leaned on the trunk of the tree as she waited for Matt to approach. There would be no way for him to avoid her now, unless he turned back towards the village once he caught sight of her. |
Matt was on his way back to the castle to drown the events of the afternoon in the half bottle of firewhisky left in the kitchens, when a small pop sound caught his attention. He looked up from the road, and saw an elegant looking blonde figure leaning against the willow tree, not too far away. He knew it had to be Victorie. No one else could look so slim in a leather jacket. He kept his pace the same, not wanting to seem to eager, or not, by slowing down, or speeding up. He stopped when he reached the tree, and looked at her, at a loss for words. He'd said all he could, and knew he wasn't going to get the same in response. He was just waiting for her to tell him that it was over at this point. Kyle walked back inside the Hogs Head. Many of the people that had been there were gone. Which was fine by him. They were done for today. Matt was in no shape to come back, and he wasn't in the mood for being solo. He noticed Rose was still inside, and made his way over to her. "Sorry you had to see that." He said, sitting on a chair across from her. "Certian people shouldn't be allowed in this place..." He rolled his eyes, and glaired at the bar, seeing Lex chatting with some other seventh year Hufflepuff. |
Victoire was surprised that he had approached her. She would have expected him to have kept walking right along, except at a faster pace, and have made her run and tackle him. But he hadn't acted cold and distant, so that was a start. "I-I'm sorry," She began, straightening up as she stuffed her hands in her pockets, staring at the dirt road. "I..." She stopped, trying to find the right words to express how she felt about him, about everything. "It was just bad timing. With you, and her, and... I just didn't know how to react. Everything that happened back there just went so fast, and, truth be told, I..." Victoire trailed off once again, her eyes beginning to well with tears as her brown-eyed gaze met his icy-blue eyes. "...I love you," She sniffed, a tear running down her cheek, "... more than you'll ever know. And it scares me to death." |
Matt's look remained blank, even though the weight of a thousand hypogriffs was lifted off his chest. "And you don't think I am?" He said softly, reaching out and taking her hand. "You know what I've gone through. I've just as scared as you are, of not more so." His other hand instinctivly reached out and brushed away her tears. "Victorie, I love you. I do. And you have no idea how hard that is for me to say, because of her. But it's the honest to god truth." He adverted his eyes for a second, unable to watch her cry. Instead, he releaced her hand, and wound his arms around her. He leaned her back against the tree, and placed a kiss to her lips. One so warm and loving, unlike the way he'd ever kissed anyone else before. |
Victoire sniffed, feeling light yet burdened at the same time. She had made a momentous statement, yet some weight still remained on her shoulders as fear of the future of their relationship was attempting to take over her mind. Her arms instinctively wound themselves around Matt as she let him kiss her. Unless it was her mind playing tricks on her, Victoire felt as if an electric shock had run down her spine once their lips met. It was something foreign and strange, but it felt so right. Maybe it was the fates telling her that everything would be alright, that she was right where she needed to be. And that was under the willow tree in Matt's arms. Once their eternal, electric kiss had ended, Victoire smiled softly as she spoke, "This feels like the start of something new, mon amour. I know we've been together, but after today, I feel like we've progressed." |
Matt nodded and rested his forhead against hers. "I know what you mean." He said softly. He pulled her as close as possible and closed his eyes. Something gave him the feeling that she didn't really believe what he'd said. There wasn't really anything he could do about that, not here anyway. A small smile appeared on his lips as he thought of all the things he'd like to be doing right now, but couldn't. He sighed and placed another kiss to her lips quickly, longing to be back in the room of requirements with her, just lying on the couch, cuddled up with her. |
Victoire smiled and closed her eyes, feeling much better than she had a few moments ago. When she opened her eyes, she noticed where they were once more and tilted her head wryly. "Hey, why don't we go back to the castle early? Maybe make a return trip to the kitchens, or whatever you'd like." True, it was impossibly romantic being wrapped in Matt's arms under a willow tree, surrounded by leaves that were falling off of their branches to signify autumn. But along with autumn came an unbearable chill, unbearable even for some cold-weather Brits, including Victoire. Even through her thick sweater and Matt's arms, the wind still chilled her and gave her goosebumps. |
"Of course, my love." He said with a smile. "Anything you want." He let her go, reluctantly, and took her hand, walking with her back to the castle. He noticed her shivver and took off his hoodie, draping it around her shoulders. The cold didn't bother him, not yet at least. Come December, he'd be wishing for summer days, or at least, a trip to Hawaii. As they walked up the path, completely alone, and undisturbed by prying eyes, Matt wound his arm around her waist, smiling down at her. "How about we just skip the kitchens, and go find you a nice warm fire? Your shivering." He said, placing a light kiss on the top of her head. |
Victoire smiled sweetly. "You're too good to me," She laughed softly as she twined her fingers with his, already feeling warmer from the addition of Matt's hoodie to her outfit. "That sounds lovely, actually," She answered as a sharp breeze passed through the dirt road once more. She wound her arm around Matt as they walked, glad that it was just the two of them. It was easier to be with Matt without attracting the stares of various onlookers. After a time of walking in relative silence, they had reached the castle and Victoire gratefully pushed open the great oaken doors to the Entrance Hall, the torches on the walls having made the atmosphere warm. She gazed around the silent area, her eyebrows raised. She had never been at Hogwarts during a Hogsmeade weekend, having always spent all the time that she could have at the village before being marched back to the school. "It's eerily quiet," She gazed around as she led the way to the Grand Staircase. "Have you ever stayed back during a Hogsmeade trip? This is my first time." |
Matt nodded, taking in the peace and quiet of the castle. "Yeah, I have actually. Not that it was by choice." He said leading her up the stairs, towards the Room of Requirements. "I had mono a few years ago, and the nurse made me stay behind. Worst christmas gift Kyle has ever given me." He said with a laugh. He found the door to the room quickly, and opened it, finding the exact same room they'd been in the night before. He let her go and made his way towards the fireplace, which he lit with a quick flick of his wand, as well as the dozen or so candles around the room, giving the room a romantic warm glow. He took a seat on the couch again and kicked off his sneekers, proping his feet up on the coffee table. "Come here." He said lazily, with a sly smile. |
Victoire laughed softly at his story. That had never happened to her; at least, not quite. She had been sick with the flu and in bed for a week. That particular week, Rose had come to stay. To make a long story short, once Victoire had gotten better it was Rose who had become bedridden for another week. Entering the Room of Requirement, Victoire was quite pleased that there had been no changes made since they had left. Shrugging off Matt's jacket and her own leather jacket underneath, she made her way over to the familiar couch and sat beside Matt, tossing her legs over his lap just as she had done the day before. Taking notice of his sly smile, she smirked as she asked, "Why so mischievous?" |

Matt shook his head and lay back on the couch comfortably. "Nothing at all, darling." He said, with a hint of mischif in his voice. "It all depends on what kind of mood you're in." He said as he looked her over, with a wink and the same sly smile. Kyle nodded and stood. "Yeah, where did you have in mind?" He asked, leading her out onto the busy streets. The sun was still fairly high in the sky, and many students were still milling around the shops and resturants. "Have you eaten yet?" He as he spotted a rather nice looking resturant across the street. He'd just realized how hungry he was. |

Kyle smiled a little. "Care to join me then?" He asked casually. He wasn't sure what her answer would be, considering she had never seemed to be too fond of him. But after spending time with her in for forest the previous night, perhapse she'd had a change of heart. Not that he'd go and get his hopes up. After all, that usually ended in being let down. Still though, if she was so digusted with the Hogs Head, why had she come? He'd have to find out from Victorie later. |

"Haha, I see," Victoire laughed, taking his hand in hers and twining their fingers together once more. "But not now. Actually, since we're on the subject, I've been meaning to tell you something..." Her smile faltered ever so slightly as her gaze met his, a hint of seriousness in her voice. He had revealed part of his past to her, so why not return the favor and tell him her deepest, darkest secret? It was only fair. Besides, this was something that Victoire felt that Matt needed to know. She would have felt unclean and untrue if she kept it hidden away. |
Matt arched an eyebrow. First time for everything... He thought. "Ok?" he replied looking her over. She didn't seem right, like she was going to tell him something extremely uncomfortable. And to be honest, her past didn't matter to him. He didn't care who she'd been with, or hadn't. He wasn't concerned with her relationship with Teddy. He was just happy to have her, and nothing she could toll him was going to change that. But none the less, he waited patiently for her response. Kyle shrugged, and looked across the street. "Theres a little place just over there that's really good. I've been there a few times." He said with a smile. "Good food, friendly wait staff. And it's usually pretty quiet. It's kind of expensive for most of the student population." |
"Well," Victoire began, averting her eyes as she bit her lip, "You should know... know that I don't have as spotless a reputation as others think me to have. Teddy was my first, but there's a bit of an afterstory to that. After we split, I, well... I went out of the country during the summer holiday and tramped around a bit." She sighed, not proud of her accomplishments. "I was heartbroken, and my parents sent me to spend the summer in France with my grandparents. They figured that I needed to get out and get some fresh air in order to get over Teddy. My grandparents were a bit lax with me, but it didn't help that I would apparate out of the mansion most nights to go out with my... suitors." Her insides cringed as she brought back the now-horrid memories. "I was acting like an imbecile, and no one was ever the wiser. By summer's end, I had had my... well, I used to think of it as 'fun,' but now I'd call it idiocy. I came home, and well, continued to go about as I normally do." Sighing once more, she brought her gaze back up to meet Matt's, glad to have lifted that weight off of her shoulders. |
Matt listened to her, and once again, arched an eyebrow. "And you think I'm going to judge you for that? Me. Matt Tuck... Who's been with pretty well half the school." He laughed a little and shrugged. "Look, I don't care about that kind of thing. I do that kind of thing. To hold that against you would be the most hypocritical thing in history." He reached up and cupped her face. "I understand where you're coming from. I told you last night what happened to me, to make me the way I was, and it happens to the best of us. At least you stopped after a summer. Hell, I only did when I met you. And if I hadn't met you, I probably wouldn't have given up the lavish rock star lifestyle." He sighed, attempting to ignore the nagging want in the back of his brain. She clearly wasn't ready for that step, and if she wasn't, he'd wait. He gave a warm smile and pulled her into his arms. "Don't worry about your past. I can almost guarentee you, I've done worse." |

The pink crept up Victoire's cheeks at his mention of having slept with more females than he could count. It was true, but until now Victoire had felt that her story would have had more of an impact, simply because of her "spotless" reputation of being the innocent part-veela and semi-talented member of Harry Potter's extended family. "You're right," Victoire couldn't help but smile and laugh softly. "I'm glad I helped to stop the madness. Back during that time, I didn't have anyone stopping me, not that anyone even knew what had been going on. I guess I had either had my fill, or maybe it was a my nagging conscience telling me to stop before I ended up seriously hurt." She snuggled into his chest, her head just beneath his shoulder as she wrapped an arm over the front of his torso. "I guess that makes us somewhat even," She snickered. |
Kyle lead her towards the resturant, his hand instinctivly reaching out and taking hers. "Don't worry, it's on me." He said, looking down with a smile. "As much as you don't believe me, it isn't every day that I get to take a beautiful girl out to lunch." He looked up and pushed the door open, holding it for her. He was determine to be as much of an upstanding young gentleman as he possibly could. "Even?" He laughed, running his hand through her hair. "Honey, we're nowhere near close." He laughed again and kissed the top of her head. What does she mean, ahd her fill? He thought to himself. Surely she didn't mean that this was going to be the extent of their time together. Cuddling. As nice as it was, he was used to so much more. He wasn't going to push her, or even bring it up beceause of her embarassment of her past. But still, in the back of his mind, he couldn't help but wonder what would happen down the road if it only stayed at this stage. He knew what had happened in previous attempts at relationshps like this, they failed because he got bored. And as hard as it was to think that he could get bored with her, it may be true in the future. He pushed the thoughts away and focoused on the hear and now. What ever would happen, would, and what wasn't going to, wouldn't. |
"Fine then," Victoire laughed along with him, "Have it your way." She turned her head and gave him a quick kiss on his neck in an effort to tease. Victoire loved him dearly, but she knew that certain things like this would drive him mad. Just call it a gene that she had inherited from one, or possibly both, of her parents. She gazed around the dim room, the many candles seeming to glow brighter as her gaze passed over the flames on their dwindling wicks. Running a finger gently up and down his forearm, she sighed, early sleep wanting to take over. But it was WAY too early in the day for that. |
Alyss sighed as she kept flipping through the robe selection. "On second thought, maybe we should petition for a change in school dress code. We only have one more year left, but if we didn't have to wear these dreadful things, our seventh year might be rather fun." she smirked slight. Maybe they could convince the board to give them some head room or something. She glance back over at Meg and smiled as she pulled another robe up to herself. "What do you think?" |
Matt felt her lips connect with his neck, and closed his eyes, exhaling slowly. Tease. He thought, fighting what every instinct he had was telling him to do. He just smiled and laughed lowly, settling in for a long afternoon. Dispite being rather bothered, he was suprisingly comfortable and relaxed. She was warm, and soft in his arms, something he hadn't felt in a while. Normally, girls never stayed with him longer then a few hours, or he'd get up and leave, in fear of things getting to serious. He was beginning to like it. He yawned. Between the warmth of the fire, the comfyness of the couch, and the intoxicating sent of her shampoo, he was starting to feel like a Nap would be the perfect option at that point. At least then I won't notice her teasing. Good lord... He thought. |
