| | | Criminal Minds : The Wizarding World BMI
The Bureau of Magical Investigation (BMI) is a detective and law enforcement agency that serves both as an independent investigative organisation and a supportive body of criminal investigation and intelligence agency for the British Ministry of Magic, mostly interacting with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement within the Ministry.
The BMI is roughly organised in the following departments :
• Office of Director
• Intelligence Agency
• Criminal Investigation Department
• Office of Magical Law Enforcement and Ministry Security Cooperation
• Private Investigating Department
• Human Resources This is the general profile of the organisation and each of the departments had its own divisions as i planned it before but i will not focus on all of them since our RP will take place in the Criminal Investigation Department which has the mission of investigating all kind of violent and serious crimes, mostly the ones involving Dark Arts. _Plot and Characters_ Plot : Senior Agent Rita Vasquez and her team of experienced BMI agents are always up and willing to solve the most complicated cases that are specially granted for them by the BMI director himself. (Maybe not always but they are trying to do so, its their job ). So during the RP we will portray the Office lives of the BMI agents and try to solve some cases with them every so often. Notes on the Plot :
* I will plan the cases and play for the supportive characters like suspects etc. When necessary. PM me if you would like to share your own ideas on cases or if you would like to help with the supportive characters.
* PM me if you would like to play for the Director of BMI or some hard to catch criminal (e.g a serial killer) as an antagonist.
* There might be cases or events related to or interacting with other SS characters (School or Ministry). [ I am open to this if admins and moderators are okay with the idea of course] Characters : I am looking for agents to form Vasquez’s team which are made up (obviously ) with bios of following format : Quote:
Originally Posted by Bio _The Bureau of Magical Investigation Employee_ Picture: Name: Age: Former Job: (optional. E.g Magical Creatures Teacher : Forensic Study of Magical Creatures and Beings) Profession: (see the notes) Personality: Brief Background: Extras : (Things you want to add) Notes on The Characters :
• Please no agents under the age of 23 since being an employee in BMI requires some specific experience and training.
• Romantic relationships between the BMI agents are against the regulations of the organisation. But this does not mean there won’t be any. Have your own risk
• You can play as a detective or a crime scene investigation officer or both. This is totally optional. But we will mostly focus on guesswork on the criminal’s acts instead of working in a laboratory because there might be flaws on the process for i might not be creative enough to plan it all with magical scientific details all the time. Of course i will mention it when there should be a forensic laboratory work needed so the characters with the respective professions can handle it. This is why i chose to get the concept of Criminal Minds.
• Every character has the freedom of investigating and producing guesses/ideas on the cases as they wish. I categorised the professions in order to help with character building and working field preferences. You are free to choose more than one but this cannot exceed the limit of 4 professions per character. It is also optional to choose from both categories. The Professions to choose from _Forensic Social/Magical Professions_
- Forensic Psychology and Wizarding Sociology
- Forensic Charms and Transfiguration
- Forensic Divination
- Interrogating _Forensic Scientific/ Magical Professions_ (Mostly for CSI officers)
- Forensic Potions
- Forensic Herbology
- Forensic Study of Magical Creatures and Beings
- Forensic Magical Medicine
- Forensic Wandlore (This also can be related to the first category since a wand might be helpful with identifying and analysing personalities)
We will start once we have enough people to form a team of investigation. PM me for any questions _Characters_ - Senior Agent : Rita Vasquez (Lara_The_Firelady) - Agent : Melanie Silvar (individual) - Agent : Cara Leonora Holden (Cerise) - Agent : Spencer Reid (TrophyKill) - Agent : Thor Caer (Sinclair) - Agent : James Terry (Deniiz) - Agent : Oliver de Winter (Ashwinder) - Agent : Chione Ann Raewen (Tazenhani) - Agent : Kale Bernard Plum (gustka48) *Supporting Characters* - Director of BMI : ? - The Inspector/ Detective Coyle of Private Investigating Department Case Information Case #1 : Mystery of the Emerald Necklace - Cooperating with Private Investigators (Coyle)
- 2 dead men found in differents hotels. Thomas Griffin; (found by Juliette Brown; the landlady of The Black Corner). Edward Thompson (found by Detective Coyle in The Gardenia Hotel, stole Lady Greengrass' necklace)
- Positions of both bodies are the same, as well as the blood filling the mouth.
- They are claimed to be poisoned but no substance could be declared by the Forensic Potions experts. Extra Inner Plot Fun Challenge (Detectiving Bonus: Observation Skills Award) : *Find who Agent Vasquez is referring to by 'Mr. Arrogant', why Vasquez cannot stand him and the relation between them by using your Detective's Observing Skills. Clues may be found among the supporting characters that would appear here and there in the posts. Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to the HP universe and Criminal Minds TV series. At the case of latter i only took the concept of precedence of behaviour analysis when working on a case. Whereas the BMI is fully my own creation and i'm proud of it Beginning Actual Post Order : #20, #24, #28, #31, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16, #17,#18, #19, #21, #22, #23, #25, #26, #27, #29, #30, #32...goes in order after 32 |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ Chione only had one question on her mind and the cause of it made her want to snap something in half. She could feel Kale inside her mind again, doing what he seemed to love doing. It was an irritation to no end that he would inject upon personal privacy so casually and with blatant disregard of respect. It was unnerving and she couldn't keep herself from straightening again at the new 'conversation'.
Shaking her head no in answer to Agent Vasquez's question, Chione had to force herself not to shoot a withering glare at Kale. Instead she focussed her attention and energy on picking out two coffee's from the platter and slidding them across to the late commers with a warm smile in greeting. There was nothing wrong with sharing coffee or a smile, especially as it wasn't interrupting Agent Vasquez. Kale was more of an interruption than anything. Perhaps she could have ignored him, had it not been for the sudden words tumbling out of his mouth. Oh yes, he could speak, but he still managed to invade the privacy of others without regard. She could feel her back going up again as she frowned at the agent.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ryan Perry Sixth Year | Spencer raised an eyebrow. Danger? Him? Lord, he hardly knew anyone here, how could he be in danger. He rolled his hazle eyes and shook his head. Clearly the other agent had lost his mind. But at least he was talking with words as aposed to thoughts. He didn't believe him anyway. That, and there was no other route back to his flat. It was exactly three city blocks from the entrence to the IBM. No other way there then to turn away from the IBM, and walk towards it. "What are you talking about?" He asked quietly. Even if he didn't believe him, he wanted to hear what the agent had 'forseen'.

| Snake disguised as Raven Browncoat Oliver went from fiddling with his cuff-links to twiddling his thumbs, and with an open, interested face looked around the table. Just in time to see all the dirty looks flying back and forth. Jeez, what were they getting so irritated about? And why wasn't it something they'd just say?
Then he saw Chione carefully, almost angrily, select two coffees and hand them out, and some part of him knew. They were looking for the one with extra sugar. He glanced down at his coffee as subtly as he could, trying not to look guilty. Chione had clearly taken orders before he arrived, and here he'd gone and taken someone's sugar-drink.
With about as much subtlety as a rhino he turned back to Agent Vasquez and hoped she'd say what she wanted to say and send them for a break soon. Then he could get a replacement coffee and all would be well. Though he couldn't help but shake his head at the younger adults. Sugar did not go in coffee. Sugar went in candy. |

Even if he didn't believe him, he wanted to hear what the agent had 'forseen'. "There is another way home" Kale had heard what the man was thinking. He didn't believe him, well so be it, let the man get beat the crap out of it. He'll come back to the office the next day covered in bruises from head to toe and robbed of what ever money he had in his pocket book. "You will not have time to get to your wand" Kale added to the man. That was the last of what he planned on saying to him. If Kale was wrong then he would stand corrected, but Kale was hardly ever wrong. But the future is always changing.
Kale turned back to the room searching for the face of the Sr. Agent. Maybe he could forsee what the case was going to be and he could leave this God forsaken room and get away from the non-believers. There were not many who believed in his line of wisdom and those were the ones who did not take his advice and ended up in some serious trouble. That wasn't Kale's problem, he tried to help many and they wouldn't listen. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ryan Perry Sixth Year | Spencer raised an eyebrow. He scanned his memory, searching the mental map of the area in which he lived. As far as he saw, there was no alternate route. But he kept searching. There were a couple ally ways leading to back roads that could get him home, but wouldn't that be the more obvious place to attack him, in a dark ally? This guy was just messing with him, and still reading his bloody thoughts! He again, put up a block, and clenched his jaw. Why was he suddenly unwilling to go home, when he knew better then to believe a fortune teller, who was telling him that he was going to get mugged in public.
His eyes turned back to Vasquez, once again, wishing she'd get on with it. He just wanted to be away from this guy. Nowere in particular, just... Away. How he was going to work with him, Spencer didn't know. But in order to keep his job, he had to keep his mouth shut, even if it made him seem like an arrgant tool.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ Rubbing her temples with the small headache she was beginning to recieve from the absurdity of the conversation both verbal and non-verbal, Chione was about to return her eyes to her coffee when she caught the muscle-man appearing rather...guilty was it?
Blinking she turned her head to peer at him, wondering what he could be so nervous about. A big, strapping man like him didn't seem like he should be intimidated by anything. And then she saw the way he was fiddling and looking between the coffee cups. Tilting her head, Chione couldn't help smile in an inquisitive way at what he was appearing so distraught over. She pointed at the spare coffee sitting in the platter, an indication to ask him if he wanted another one.

| Snake disguised as Raven Browncoat Oh lordy, he'd never been the most subtle of individuals. Ms. Raewen had seen him. He smiled, put his hand up palm forward and shook his head in a 'no thanks' motion. Maybe they weren't having a silent coffee war after all. So he officially had no idea what was going on down at that end of the table. Splendid. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ A respectable man. Who woulda thunk it.
Smiling, Chione nodded and was about to turn her attention back to the Senior Agent when something caught her eye. Turning full back around she reached out and lightly grasped one of the cuff-links that the muscle-man had been fiddling with it. Turning it this way and that to watch the light reflect off the metal, Chione peered at it with pure interest and admiration. This man had style.
Grinning she looked up at him, pointing at the cuff-links she had somehow missed on her first appraisal of his suit...which didn't make sense considering how well they were polished. "I. Like these."

| Snake disguised as Raven Browncoat Er, alright. He darted a look at Vasquez before accepting Chione's compliment with a happy smile that also had the 'I'm going to get in trouble with you, aren't I?' look to it. "Thank you."
But she couldn't have them. They were his only pair and nothing on this green earth could convince him to go and get another set. It was as he watched her turning them back and forth that he decided on a nickname for her. He didn't normally give nicknames, but he liked those bestowed by others better than self-appointed nicknames, and this young lady's nickname was most definitely Magpie. Chatty, chipper, and snatchy of shiny things. Perfect fit. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ Grinning at the man, Chione took one more admiring glance at the cuffs before straightening the sleeve and patting it so as to remove any wrinkles from the fabric. Sitting back in her chair, she wrapped her fingers around the coffee mug again and swivelled to look back at Agent Vasquez, a small smile back on her lips. She decided she liked the muscle-man and made a mental note to figure out his name before the meeting was over.

Oh, it was okay for newcomers. Phew. So James hadn't left that bad of an impression. He made fists and pulled them to himself in a parallel way while his mouth formed Yes! like in competitions where a participant scores. Then Sr. Agent Vasquez went on and he remembered where he was. In an office. For a case. Riiight. Blushing a little at his little show, he listened to Vasquez. He made himself comfortable on the chair, lying his head back. If it wasn't for being in a serious business, he could as well close his eyes and drift off. Waking up one hour earlier and then running in panic did no good to him, after all. And this also meant no one played a prank on him. Good. He didn't want to be a murderer at the age of 33.
Listening to Agent Vasquez, he couldn't help but chuckle at her words. Sherlock Holmes and James Bond. He was neither of them, he guessed. Did he have any questions? Besides when will we go home? and while on a case, we won't have to stay at nights, right? he had none. And he could figure out asking them wouldn't be the wisest thing to do now. Especially while she looked so angry like that in the morning. Maybe later...
He was about to get up and excuse himself to bathroom -he even starightened himself up, it was something he rarely did- when a voice talked in his brain. He froze. What the?! Looking at the people around, he saw a rather young looking guy pretty angry and another one... given up? He frowned. He didn't like voices he didn't know. Was that some sort of move they had agreed to use before he could find here? Maybe he should take all the risk of being laughed at because of not figuring out by himself and ask who that was. But then the given up guy talked to that angry one. Probably he was the thought-putter. Oooh, he was one of those... what was the word? Seer? Must be. Oh man. This group was too serious and talented. He could just protect his mind and talk a few languages while they would put thoughts in other's brain and see the future. Maybe he should drop and work at the International Department happily like he used to want as a kid. He still didn't know the case and dropping out wouldn't harm now, would it? He realised he should have listened to his parents. Spending 10 years in foreign countries to learn languages and then not working at something International. Wise James, really wise.
He again intended to go to his beloved toilets and try to awaken himself when a woman offered him coffee. "Thanks." he said. He didn't drink coffee. But now that she had offered... he had to drink, didn't he? He supped it a little bit and then leaving it on the table, -finally!- got up and looked at Vasquez. "Could you please tell me where the bathrooms are?" Better be away.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ryan Perry Sixth Year | Spencer noted the clearly obvious flirting going on between the very muscular guy, and Chione. Needless to say, he was not overly impressed. Then again, comparing himself to the other guy in his head, it was CLEAR who the more obvious choice was. Either way, it was a little disheartening. But, it was common knowledge that relationships inside the department were strictly prohibited. Oh well.
He gazed out the faux-Window and thought about what Kale had told him still. He was in danger on his way home? What on earth could happen on the crowded streets of London? Still overly curious Spencer dropped the mental guards, and reached out to the other agent once more. Tell me specifically what you saw. I know you think I'm a skeptic, and I am. I just want to see for myself weather, and judge weather or not this 'situation' is feasible. He said mentally to the other. He knew better then to ask in words, because the other would not respond in more than a sentence fragment.

This was going good so far which was a bonus.Ok so she was late, and nobody had talked to her but still, she would live. They wernt really chatty, which was weird because Cara always thought she was a rather chatty person. Maybe they didnt think that. She sighed, and turned to the man next to her."Hi,Im Cara"he said.He seemed like something was bothering him.Like he was thinking deeply about something.Something that he didnt really like. She was good at figuring out people.
Cara sighed and looked around the room.Partners.Great.She looked at her boss and smiled.SHe knew that she was going to have a case to solve and she was consintrating on getting to the bottom of this. She decided to make a mental note of speaking to her boss and making sure they got off on the best foot. She nodded and took out a little note book and started to jot down some notes on names. She sighed a little, waiting

He knew better then to ask in words, because the other would not respond in more than a sentence fragment. Kale felt the man's guard drop and then heard his thoughts. He glowed with prdie. Maybe Kale would find a friend even with his messed up ways. Kale thought it was best not to try and explain to the man what he had seen it was best to just show him. Kale recalled his vision and implanted it into the man's mind. 'The Agent wasn't alone on the crowded street in London, but he was being stalked. There was a group of young thugs who had seen him leave the office. They followed him and took something out of their pockets, they through it into the air and the whole street went black, they advanced upon the man. There were screams and cries from the other people on the street and they all ran about trying to find their way. The group of men knew the Agent's wand was in his pocket for they had seen him place it there. The began to beat of the man, muggles way of dueling. They left the man the man for dead and stole his pocket book. When the left the street the light came back.
Kale hoped it was enough to convice the man that even though a darken alley did not seem the safest way, this evening it would be. He could loose the group of men that were following him by simply slipping into the alley and taking a little while longer to get him. Kale had done what he could to help the man, it was his choice now whether he wanted to take the advice or not. |

| 9 3/4 ticket holder / The SS Mentalist / Sherlock / The Master Of Everything / Josh + <3 = Ev All right. No one seemed like they were from those departments otherwise they would definitely give themselves away with the typical attitudes pertaining to the employees of those departments. However, on the other hand, attitudes of those were quite unlike the type she was expected. This was neither bad nor good in her eyes now, she was going to decide this later.
She was about to went on with her speech when she felt someone attempting to affect her mind which caused her temper to rise even more and her narrowed, angry eyes moved on her agents as she tried not to yell at all of them. 'No, no yelling. Patience just patience.' There were also others who seemed to be affacted from it so ''You might be gifted Agent Plum...'' she said with an icy cold voice ''But why don't you make a better use of it by performing when it is necessary? And i think it is quite pointless to use it on your co-workers especially me.'' pausing for moment Agent Vasquez tooma deep breath to control her anger ''I say all of you. If i ever happen to see, hear, feel, sense any issue among the agents in this room, they are off the unit whoever they are. I hope this is well understood. So we can have at least some process. Now...'' she fell silent abruptly when there was a knock on the door which caused her to roll her eyes. 'When were all stupid interruptions going to end?' ''Enter!'' The door was opened slowly and an early middle aged blond man who drew a quite formal profile with his clothes, attitude and even with the way he set eyes on the people inside stood at the doorstep. ''Excuse me, Agent Vasquez. I have brought the folder we were talking about earlier'' And walking to the desk as if he had swallowed a long stick, he put the brown folder on Rita's desk and nodded a firm goodbye before he left the airy office. ''Thank you, Inspector.'' Vasquez mouthed without moving from where she stood even not looking at the man as he placed the folder nevertheless she could not help shooting a glance at his back as the Inspector left her office. Clearing her throat, she tried to focus on others again. ''Okay...Whay was i saying?'' She blinked a few times than remembered the question one of the Agents asked ''Actually what i meant by question was not that but. Turn right out this office and it is at the end of the corridor''

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ryan Perry Sixth Year | Images flashed behind Spencer's eyes as Kale implanted the potential attack in his mind. He scrunched his eyebrows together as he thought. Weird. Muggle thugs attacking him. Hmm. And being beated to near-death wasn't exactly he wanted to happen on his first week back in London. He slipped his wand from the pocket of his cords, under the sleeve of his black dress shirt, just incase. From the tone of the Senior Agents voice, their meeting was probably going to be over shortly. Thank you, Kale. I don't quite believe you, but I'll will take your advice anyway.
He heard someone speak, in words, to him and looked over to the girl beside him. She was one of the ones who'd come in late. "Spencer." He said softly, as not to interrupt Vasquez. Weird. The agent didn't even speak properly to the blonde man, no did she look at him. Normally when people brought you file folders, you thanked them, at least, polite people did. Vasquez had seemed quite polite from her letters, and during his interview. Plesant even. Something must have happened between now and then. He shook the thought and looked back to the girl. "Nice to meet you."

| Super Slytherin Buddy | | ⅓ She-Snake Trio | | a normal girl with normal knees Aw, so it was the Plum guy that was doing all the weird stuff with their minds. And she completely agreed with Agent Vasquez. Melanie very much liked the privacy of her mind even though it was pretty easy to see what she was thinking of, and she didn't want any unwanted thoughts entering it either. Or anyone elses thoughts for that matter...
Taking a deep breathe, she leaned back in the chair again, for some reason finding them highly uncomfortable, and continued to listen to something about being off the unit...blah blah blah...something something...Oo! Another person! With a...brown folder. Did this place have no color whatsoever? Really now... Curious as to what was in the folder though, she was tempted to lean forward and peak at the top of it but decided against it. Don't want to get fired on the first day now, and Agent Vasquez did not seem like she was in a better mood than before. "You were saying something about people being off the unit if something was wrong..." Melanie mumbled, not really sure herself what the woman had been talking about before. Eh, if it was important, then she would have remembered. So apparently it wasn't. Oh well, she'll just ask one of the other members in here later on what she said. Maybe they could go hang out too! There has GOT to be a few good places around here somewhere...

James waited patiently for the other employee told what he had to say. A folder, is it? So might be their new case? He hoped so. But before he could examine it any further, Agent Vasquez was already talking. Pff. He bit his lips in order not to chuckle at the woman's reaction to his question. Yes, that wasn't kind of question she'd wanted. However, he thought it was an important one. End of the corridor, she said? Would that be far enough that this seer guy couldn't reach? Hopefully. End of corridors was usually away, right? "Thank you." he said and made his way out. Turn right. He seriously needed to wake himself, or he could fall asleep. Not that he'd, he wasn't that unprofessional. You got the idea. His body felt empty after all that nervousness while searching for this place. Not nice at all.

| not to worry it goes on and not much ooc posts please ;) 9 3/4 ticket holder / The SS Mentalist / Sherlock / The Master Of Everything / Josh + <3 = Ev ''Yes, thank you.'' Rita said as Melanie reminded her the point before they were interrupted by the handsome detective. ''Then it looks like i have mentioned all the basics''. They were all qualified agents after all so they had ideas on how to behave and how to work in the BMI HQ which meant there was no need for Vasquez to push it more and more. So, she moved from where she stood and walked to her desk to have a look into the brown folder, nodding to herself as she examined what was inside it. ''Okay, everybody. It looks like we have a little bit complicated warm-up case here formerly assigned to another department so another employee from that department will be joining us for the first briefing.'' closing the folder with a quick act, she smiled at everyone hopefully building up a little bit of joy ''Please follow me to the meeting hall.'' The Meeting hall just outside her office because she definitely did not want anyone of other departments occupy her office again. She was not going to let Mr. Arrogant to annoy her this time, of course, if he'd be present at the briefing. With thoughts of that kind and more, she gave her agents a quick nod and made her way our her office to the Meeting Hall on that floor.

| Snake disguised as Raven Browncoat A case already? Oh good.
Oliver got up, making sure to tug the wrinkles from his suit, and then held the door for the rest of the team. It was a little strange that they were moving from this room to another room, though it was a tad crowded. He gave a little shrug to himself; he didn't really understand the whole power struggles and behind-the-scene dramas of an office. Just point him at a rogue griffin and he was good to go. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ Letting out a small sigh, Chione rose to her feet, gathering her bag and her coffee before moving to follow Agent Vasquez. She was two feet out the door when she stopped and backtracked, looking over at Muscle-man holding open the door. "Thank you." A smile touched her lips and she held out her hand. "I'm Chione Raewen. I never caught your name."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ryan Perry Sixth Year | Not gaining a responce from Cara, Spencer packed up his things again and stood, following the rest of the agents out of the room. It struck him as odd that Vasquez was moving them to a new room, to brief them on a case. If only one other agent was joining them, there was more than enough chairs around the table for them all, if Vasquez took refuge behind her desk.
He took mental note; She likes to be in control. Everything in it's place, even the agents who work for, and with her. Nothing out of the ordinary in people of her status. Control shows power. Power frightens the underlings into submissiveness. Weather she's completely OCD is undetermined yet. Maybe she just likes a clean and tidy work space. He looked around the office quickly. Spotless. Likely because of the new people. Trying to give off a stark, stern impression, so we all know not to cross her. But why no intermixing of departments in her office. Maybe that was why she was so... tense?... When that other agent brought the folder into her. Pesonal tension, perhaps?.. Wait, why am I profiling my boss? He sighed and made his way to the door, still trying to figure Vasquez out.
He stopped, the door being blocked by the (Now that he got the full picture, because the guy was standing) very large man, and Chione. Not about to interrupt the formalities, Spencer began looking at the books on the shelves beside the door, waiting for them to move.
