Zhenya Burton was coming home for the summer, but not just alone. She was planning on having visits from her two good friends Raven and Desiree. It was a two storey home which had a lovely 'homey' feeling.

There are 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, and two living areas.

Scene 1 - Zhenya awaited the arrival of her friends by decorating two spare bedrooms with fresh green towels and bedding, and putting up lanterns.
Scene 2 - As Zhenya and her friends go back to Hogwarts, Lisabel finds herself once again in a lonely house with her husband, Alexander. But not for long - their Son, Dimitri, has returned from holiday.
Scene 3 - Archer has come to Burton Cottage, and the twins are being born.
Scene 4 - Zhenya's Birthday: For people who have been invited, just knock on her door and we will go from there

Scene 5 - Gary comes to visit over the Christmas Holidays
Scene 6 - Laura comes to visit
(Scene 5 and 6 at different times)

Lisaben smiled warmly at him, "Of course you must be very excited, darling, I'm so happy. How about we have a celebration dinner tonight? What do you want, I'll make anything," she said. But... stick with his job? Or course he would. "You're a Burton, and Burton men stick with their commitments," she said. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Alexander had quit his job, but that was only because of their move to Russia and it was too hard. And then they had the children, and he needed to stay home to take care of them. But he found his place as a healer, and he was fantastic at that.

Frowning slightly, she took the letter and began to read it. Why didn't Zhenya want me to know? she thought. Although it did sound like her, not wanting all her business exposed. She did want some things to be only her secret, which Lisabel could understand.

A BOYFRIEND? Lisabel laughed slightly, from happiness but also shock. Her baby is in a relationship with this boy in the photo? Well, she was old enough she supposed. Although thirteen is young. "I hope he doesn't break her heart," Lisabel said quietly, to herself mostly. But, Zhenya could take her own, she knew, she was a tough cookie. She saw how she dealed with the death of her grandparents and now... well now she might have to relive that all over again. Lisabel frowned as she put the letter down. She just wanted her home, right now, so that she could take the pain away, and talk to her about the good things.

"It's... it's okay, Dima," Lisabel said quietly. Lisabel had met Raven and liked her, and now she was dying? "Oh, that poor girl, I can't believe it," she put her head in her hands. "And poor Zhenya."

At first, Dimitri was still confused about his decision to have a job. He still wanted to learn more about wandlore and travel all around the world. It didn't mean that he didn't like the job. He liked it, and he was very excited about that. He just have.. a little confusion in his mind. "I know, Mom." he said. "Well, you know me and my passion. I just think that.. working in Ministry at first was not my passion. But I think.. Working in International Cooperation means I still have chance to travel abroad again." He grinned. That's the bright side, right?

Sipping his drink, maybe he knew why Zhenya didn't want to tell about her relationship to their parents. "I think she didn't want to tell you about that because.. First. You'll get mad about that and asked her to break her relationship and second, you are very busy with the babies. So, she thought that.. You almost neglect her." it sounded a bit sad. But he knew that his mother wouldn't do that. But as far as he knew, She haven't write a letter to Zhenya since she departed last September. "Maybe you should write to her." he suggested. He also would write one to her, he wanted to tell her about his job!

and suddenly he thought that he need to write one to her boyfriend, He just wanted to know about him.

"But I don't like her boyfriend." suddenly Dimitri said. "He looks taller and more handsome than me." OH NO? Was he jealous? Well, it was kidding actually. Hehehe. "Have you ever met Raven?" suddenly he asked. Because he knew that girl had sent a letter at Zhenya's birthday.

Lisabel let out a soft groan. "Of course you would chose a career that gives room for more travel. You're just like your father, only I don't want you to leave," she said and let out a small laugh. Alexander never left her, he came to her, but she didn't want her son to leave. She smiled warmly at him and said, "I know in my heart, without a doubt, that you will do what makes you happy and, whatever that is I want you to know I'm very proud of you." She wasn't going to put her son on some kind of leash and stop him from travelling, if that was his passion.

Mad? Lisabel wasn't... mad as such, but she was worried. "Well, she is young, Dimitri. And she is only in her third of seven years. What if this boy stops her from doing all her work and her grades drop? I think that would make me mad, if anything," she said. But neglect her? Lisabel would never... would she? Her eyebrows creased together slighhtly as she silently took a blow to the chest. Neglect? She wanted to go to Hogwarts right now and tell her she loved her. Yes a letter. She nodded at her son, and was going to write a letter to her tonight.

She smiled at her son when he started sounding jealous. "Dimitri, you're the most handsome boy I've ever laid my eyes on," she said to her son. He didn't need to be jealous. Besides, it was a good thing he didn't look like Dimitri. She also noticed he looked nothing like Gordy, and laughed.

"Raven? I did, she came and stayed over the Summer before Zhenya's second year. She was quiet around us, from what I remember but Zhenya was just so relaxed in her company. We threw her a birthday party too."

The 20-year-old guy just scratched his chin when she said something about his sister's relationship with a boy. "Well, I don't think she would neglect her school, Mom." he said his opinion. Dimitri remembered when he had given some suggestions to cheer up her life, but it didn't mean that he suggested her to neglect her school things. Zhenya was a study-oriented person, she liked to study and she didn't want to fail with it. Sometimes he wondered why she was not in Ravenclaw. "I just think that.. let her enjoyed her time as a grown-up teenage girl. If she found her first love or something, that's okay. I think it's normal." He crossed his arms.

"Was Dad your first love, Mom?" suddenly he asked and chuckled too. He also wondered about that. Hehe. Well, that's okay right if he wondered about How his parents could meet each other, be in relationship, get married and live together until now? Since he never heard about that before. He thought that he'd mature enough to know about that. He was 20 years old, right?

What? He? Jealous? Dimitri started to laugh hard. "NO! I was not jealous, Mom!" he sipped his drink again and almost choked because of that. Suddenly he got an idea to write a letter to Gary. He looked nice and just hoped that he wouldn't make his sister hurt. And Raven.. Well, he was not here when Zhenya invited her closed friends last two summers. "Last summer, she sent her a letter and a birthday present to Zhenya. She was very sad about her letter."

Lisabel listened to Dimitri's words, sure sure. She was very study-orientated, and was so proud she was one of the top 5 point earners last year. But, that was before a boy came along. As friends, they could study together, but as a couple... she wasn't sure. Besides, they were in different years by the looks of it. He didn't look like a thirteen year old, she was certain of that. "I suppose you're right. She would want to do the best she could," Lisabel asked. First love? Lisabel laughed quietly. "You think she loves him? She's in love?" she asked, trying to think of how grown up Zhenya must be behaving, now that she is in love.

And then her eyes widened. HER STORY? Of course Alexander was her first love. She cleared her throat and shuffled uncomfortably in her chair. "Your father and I met when I was still in school, actually. Back in Russia. I was just about to turn seventeen, and I was visiting an art museum where your father had been assigned a job," she said, and knew she was probably slightly pink. "I had never met anyone before him that I so much as liked in the romantic sense," she finished. She knew he didn't want to hear anything else, and she wasn't sure she wanted to tell him. Not her son. "Have you ever been in love, Dimitri?" she asked. She knew he had girlfriends before, but she never actually knew what he felt about them.

Oh, Lisabel didn't know that. "What did the letter say?" she asked, starting to bite her nails.

Dimitri just listened to his mom while his mouth was still busy munching the fruit salad. He was.. right? Of course he was! Well, he didn't mean to be so narcistic but.. he also experienced that when he was still in Hogwarts. It's about.. years ago. Sigh, sometimes he almost forgot that he was turning 20 years old right now, and Zhenya just turned thirteen and she already had a boyfriend. Which became their main topic of this conversation for this afternoon. Time flew so fast, right? Did she love him? He just shrugged, wondered what exactly his sister felt about that. "Maybe?" he said doubt. "Since she looked very happy with that boy. Why don't you try to ask her?" he also wanted to ask her about that. Sadly, maybe she wouldn't come home for christmas. If yes, Dima was ready to ask her soooooo many question, just like a muggle police interrogate the criminal. Asking question who sounded very private was not enough if you just write a letter to her.

He could see his mother was blushed when he asked about how their parents met each other for a first time. Awww.. was that sweet? He paid attention to her story very much, even he didn't munch the salad or sip his drink. NO! He wanted to listen it carefully. It was very interesting! "So.." he scratched his chin. "You never date any man before you met Daddy?" a naughty smile appeared from his face. He really enjoyed teasing his own mother. Bad Dima! Hehehe.

EEEEEEEEEEEPPPP... He? had ever been in love? Errr..

Okay, he managed to be calm though he was shy about that. "Hmm.." He thought for a while. "Yeah, but I don't think I want to be in a steady relationship with a girl for now." He sounded like his ~~annoying~~ uncle, ~~Archie~~ Archer. He sipped his drink again, to keep himself calm. He must knew that his mother would ask this to him. Huh.. But lucky that no one knew about his blind date at Diagon Alley matchmaker, except his sister.

A letter? What letter actually?

OH! The letter which came to this house while she was in hospital, giving birth to the twins. He remembered that. "Of course you didn't know about that. It came while you were still in Hospital." said him. Seeing his sister was so sad and trembled, Dimitri felt pity about her, and Raven too though he hadn't met her yet. "She said that she was hospitalized at summer and apologize that she'd broken her promise to come here. Then she said that she would see her in Hogwarts soon." He exhaled. "She also sent her a bracelet and notebook as her birthday present."

Lisabel thought about what she would put in the letter and decided, "I'm not going to mention it to her, I think she would just get upset knowing that I know. I'll let her tell me... if she does. And, well, if she doesn't I suppose I'll just ask her until she cracks," she smiled.

She heard something in her son's voice. What was it? "I dated a boy when I was fifteen but that was just one date and it was a disaster. He was rude and made me walk home alone in the dark night. I was terrified! Your grandfather found the boy and... let's just say I don't think he ever made that mistake again!" She didn't really like the boy but all her friends had started dating, and she thought it might be time to give it a try.

Nodding at her son she replied, "I think that you know that is good, Dima. Otherwise you will be just like that boy I dated, who didn't really care." It was true, she thought. He needed to want to settle down, otherwise it wouldn't happen.

Her daughter knew Raven was sick when she went to school? She had stopped telling her anything, now that Dimitri was home. But, she was glad he was home. "Poor girl, and she would have been so excited to see her at Hogwarts", Lisabel said, knowing the look that would have been on Zhenya's face when she realised she wasn't there.

"Sadly, she might be not at home for Christmas." suddenly Dimitri said. "Because I want to ask her more about his boyfriend." He gave an evil smirk. Dimitri wanted to ~~annoy his sister~~ know more about him. Hehehe. But, he didn't know what was his father reaction to know about that? Should he tell him? Or maybe his mother would tell him about that? He felt a bit guilty, since Zhenya didn't want their parents know about that. "I couldn't imagine if Daddy know about this." Was he glad? Or mad? Just hope that his wouldn't get heart attack and passed out.

Dimitri sipped his drink again. Listening to his mother story about her horrible first date. "Owh, that sounded bad." he said. He didn't think to ask his mother's privacy moore. And his mother was glad about his commitment not to be in steady relationship for now. He didn't think he would be like his father who was ready to be a family man in his young age while he was still thinking to reach his dream first.

Lisabel smiled, "I want to know more about him too. He looks a bit old for her, don't you think?" she asked. She was worried about her daughter but wasn't sure if she needed to worry. She was, after all, exactly like her father. Speaking of who... "I don't know what his reaction would be, honestly. I think he would be very protective. They're very close," she said, rubbing her face. Oh, did she want to find out? He might be really happy, but she was still his baby even at 13. She was sure he would become overly protective of her. "I hope he just lets her see he is happy for her," Lisabel said. She would make sure that if she ever had this boy come over to meet everyone that she would give him a warning to be nice, or Zhenya would be upset. "What do you think of it?" she asked her son. Was he happy? Mad? Becoming protective?

"So tell me more about this job! How was your first day at work? Do you have a nice boss?" she asked, becoming more interested in her son's job.

"I hope Daddy didn't get heart attack when he heard about this." he chuckled. He was a bit guilty since his sister didn't want their parents knew about that. Would she be mad? Or something? Or maybe she would throw knife to him?

Keep calm, Dima. Everything would be gonna be okay.

He sipped his drink again. Thinking about his job? "Yeah, it was fun. Though I had a little incident at the meeting room." Tripping over his own shoelace? Ugh! That's humiliating! But he was glad that his coworkers were nice. "The people in my department are nice, including the boss. Gina gave us cookies at the meeting."

Lisabel thought he did look about 16 maybe, in comparison with what Dimitri looked at that age, which worried her. That's 3 years difference. She wasn't sure that her daughter WOULD date someone in sixth year though, so maybe he was fourth or fifth? But he did look... larger than the 14 and 15 year olds she knew. She sighed and said "I suppose we will just have to wait and see how old he is."

"How old who is?" Alexander said, leaning against the kitchen door frame. He had let himself in and heard them talking. He didn't know what they were talking about, so he took his coat and scarf off quietly, and walked through to the kitchen. He rolled his neck and heard a few cracks of relief, and he kissed his wife and patted Dimitri on the back.

Lisabel looked at Dimitri with a shocked expression. Oops, she didn't even hear him enter. "Oh... well, your daughter has a... boyfriend," she said with a smile. Hopefully the smile would help. She would rather Zhenya be angry at her for telling her father, and not Dimitri. It wasn't his fault, after all.

Alexander looked stunned between his wife and son. His little Zhenny? A boyfriend? He laughed and walked up stairs to check on his youngest children. No, they must be wrong. His Zhenny was only 13, she was far too young to be thinking about boys. And, besides, she was at Hogwarts! Who had time to fall in love with someone else when there was so much about Hogwarts to fall in love with instead?

Lisabel was puzzled. Why did he laugh? "I don't think he believes it," Lisabel said quietly, and shook her head. "I didn't even hear him come in."

While Dima and his mom had a quite serious conversation about his little-grown-up sister, suddenly his father came to the kitchen. EEEEEEEEEPPP? He also didn't hear someone was entering the house. He seemed like a ghost, suddenly appeared without no one realized him. "Hi Dad." he greeted his father warm. What should he tell to him about Zhenya? Huft. He was not ready if suddenly his sister got mad at him. All he could do just.. exhaled.

But then his mother tried to tell him about that. His father looked surprised, confused, and didn't believe about that. See? But he was relieved that he didn't get heart attack. But he.. laughed? What did it mean? He frowned to his father who suddenly went upstairs.

Dimitri just shrugged. "Maybe he should read the letter and showed the photo first." he whispered. He couldn't imagine if he read the letter, would he get heart attack? He didn't hope so. Huh. Suddenly he really wanted her to go home at Christmas and explain to them about her relationship. He made all people in this house confused about that.

WHY MUST ME?

Dimitri frowned to his mother. Oh man! This was not good! But the-20-year-old guy HAD to. Sigh. It was kinda hard. He took a very deep breath and.. "Okay." Lazily he dragged himself to the upstairs with the letter and photo in his hand. He just realized that he hadn't change his clothes, he still wore the vest and the shirt. Huh, he didn't care. He stepped to the nursery where his father was spending his time with the twins. Merlin's pants! What should he speak to him.

"Er.. Hi Dad." He braced himself to meet his father. Just hoped that he wouldn't get heart attack, because Dimitri didn't know what should he do if that's happen.

Dimitri was holding Theodore who was now asleep. Ava was still sleeping quietly. He was so lost in thought, remembering when Zhenya was just this big, when he was startled by Dimitri.

"Oh, hey Dima, did yo-Oh! Look at you, all handsome," he said with a laugh. "What are you all dressed up for?" His son scrubbed up nicely. He stood up with Theodore and placed him carefully down into his cot. Nodding towards the door, he stepped out of the room and walked down with his office. He opened the door, entered the room and sat behind his desk. Hopefully Dimitri would sit down and relax, so he didn't feel like he was getting ready to hear something he didn't want to.

He put his legs up on the desk and stretched his hands behind his head. He was exhausted and just wanted his family back together. He missed Zhenya, and he missed being at home with his children when they were younger. When Dimitri was still too young to go to Hogwarts.

Okay.. Brace yourself, Dimitri! he thought. He stayed cool, seemed like there's nothing happened. He followed his father to his office and sat in front of him. The 20-year-old guy didn't know how to start this serious conversation. Relax Dima.. Relax!

Did he look.. handsome? Meh? Where had his father been that he just realized that his older son was handsome, huh? Oh, maybe because he was still wearing his work outfit. Didn't he know that he already had a job? No, of course. No one knew about his application to Ministry except his mother who just knew about that just know. "Oh.. Yeah." he grinned. "Today is my first day at Ministry actually."

Good start, he should give the good news first before he told him about the shocking one.

"No! Your first day? Oh son, I'm so happy! You didn't tell us, though," he said with a wink, throwing a soft cotton filled ball at Dimitri's head, laughing. "What are you doing at the Ministry? Not in the department of Magical Law Enforcement like your father, are you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He hoped that's not where his son was working. They worked him too hard there, although he did get to travel and meet his wife. That was a bonus.

Not in Magical Law Enforcement like his father. The 20-year-old guy just nodded. Actually he'd thought to be in that Department but he didn't want to follow his father's step. He wanted to be different! Some of his friends who was in Magical Law Enforcement said that their job was very hard, and dangerous. He liked dangerous stuffs, but maybe his father disagreed about that since he knew about his boggart. Sigh. "No. I join International Cooperation, it sounds fun and give me more chance to travel again." he winked.

Sigh, Dimitri didn't know how to tell his father about his little-grown-up sister. "Well.." he scratched his head and looked a bit confused. "Zhenny sent me a letter just now." Then? He started biting his lips. Oh man, braced yourself Dima! "Actually, what did Mommy said about she was taken up by a guy that's.. not a joke." He handed the letter to his father, and also the photo of them. Would he get a heart attack because of this? Oh man.

"It was a nice surprise," he said. Where did he get the suit from? He looked good in it. Alexander wished he could look nice for work again, but he usually just looked like a mad Healer, with his uncut hair and his stubble, and the bags under his eyes. "I think you were made for the job, Dims." And he meant it. He could never see his son as a healer or an Auror or anything. He was relieved he didn't want to follow either of those paths.

He frowned at his son's awkwardness. What was he about to say? Alexander removed his legs from the desk and straightened up a bit. He leaned his elbows on the table, and wheeled his chair into the desk. What was it?

Oh... the boy.

Not a joke? His... his little girl?

Frowning, Alexander picked up the letter and read it. Cancer? Boyfriends? Quidditch? Oh boy, this was not going to be a good year for his daughter. He put the letter down and looked at the photo. He looked into his daughter's smiling face and saw that she looked very happy. Really really happy. Alexander smiled down at her, but then his eyes moved to the boy. He really did look older, too old for his daughter. He put the photo down and stood up, pacing up and down. "I don't know how to break it to her..." he muttered to himself. "There's nothing I can do to help cancer, or tumors. Nothing... not a thing. That's the muggles job..." he continued. How could he possibly tell his daughter that he couldn't do anything to save Raven? Sure, he could make potion for the pain, or to allow her to die faster. But nothing that would actually help.

He tried to avoid thinking about his little girl in a relationship. Really? Was it a joke? It couldn't be, there was a photo of them...

Dimitri just grinned when his father said that his current job was suitable for him. "Yeah, I just hope that I could stick with it." Had a job at Ministry was quite beyond his expectation. But at least, he could still travel abroad again in this department, for a bussiness trip of course. Sounded fascinating. He couldn't think if he follow his father's step as a healer. OH NO! He didn't want to endanger his patients of course, since he was slightly clumsy and he thought that he didn't have a good responsible enough for that job. Besides that, saw his father didn't have much time even to take care of himself, Dimitri couldn't stand of it. "By the way, I think you need to shave, Dad." he chuckled. His father looked a bit messy.

The-20-year-old guy just bit his lips when his father started to read the letter. Huh, he still hoped that his father wouldn't get heart attack. Dimitri couldn't write this to her, he didn't want to make his ~~little~~ grown-up sister sad and trembled. "You should write about it to her." he said. He didn't think he could write it to Zhenya. Suddenly he remembered when she got a letter from Raven, she was crying aloud and very sad. No. He just nodded when his father explained about that.

"Well, I know that you didn't believe about that" Giving an extra emphasis in that he just hoped his father knew what did he mean. He was glad about her relationship, but in the other side he was quite worry. He didn't think that she was too young to have a boyfriend, but..

"Oh, Dimitri, you will stick at it. If the job gives you room to travel then I doubt you will leave it," he said. As long as Dimitri wasn't in a relationship, he really could do whatever he wanted with that job it seemed. In a relationship... well it would complicate things.
He laughed when his son gave him a suggestion. Rubbing his hand over his stubble, he nodded "I think so too. I just ran out of time," he said. Where had all his time gone? He was getting busy at work, and with the babies it was always busy at home. He could hardly sleep a full night.

Alexander just looked at Dimitri with worried eyes. Tell her daughter that? "You don't think I should wait until she comes home to tell her? Oh, she will need us, she will need you to deal with the news. I hope she isn't holding onto hope that I can heal her... I don't want to break her heart," Alexander confessed. Seeing his family upset just broke his heart. How could he do it when she wasn't even at home? He couldn't even rub her back until she stopped crying and fell asleep, like he knew she liked. He couldn't be there for her if he did it through a letter.

Sighing loudly, he said "So my little Zhenny is in a relationship?" he shook his head and sat down again. How could he believe it? She was repulsed by the thought of kissing a boy only last year, and now she had a boyfriend?

He's ran out of time? Huh, seemed like his father became very busy nowadays. What did make him busy? Family, job, and everything maybe. See? Being a family man was not easy, that's why Dimitri refused to be in a steady relationship. Sometimes Archie was right, and he didn't think that he could follow his father's step to have a big commitment in his young age. He wanted to enjoy his single life, reach his dream, earn much money and have fun! "You seemed very tired, Dad." he commented. "And busy too."

What did.. Heh? He refused to write a letter to his sister about that disease? What actually was that, was it very dangerous so his father didn't want to tell her? "Err.. Why didn't you want to write her about that?" asked him curious. Raven seemed liked suffered a very serious disease, and he'd ever heard about that, but not too much. The 20-year-old guy just knew that many people died because of that. Huh, the good way maybe he would ask her to go back home on Christmas, so his father could explain it to her.

Dimitri frowned when his father said about his sister. "She's not little anymore, Dad." he corrected. "She turns thirteen this year." He agreed that she was not little anymore, but not yet mature. That's why some people called it teen-age was a transition from a little child into a mature person. Right? Maybe she was not happy when his father still thought she was still a little child, so did he. Huh, parents became very old-school nowadays.
