* Williams May Not Score GoF Summary:
John Williams may not compose GoF music... Article: Distressing news from JWfan.net: Quote: We have learned from two very reliable sources that John Williams is not scoring "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", due to scheduling conflicts -although things might change in the coming months.
According to o*ne of the sources (someone very close to the composer), Williams might write the score for "Memoirs of a Geisha". Both 'Harry Potter 4' and 'Geisha' are scheduled for release in Fall, 2005. Courtesy: Mugglenet.com |

 OMG, noooooo! I LOVE John Williams' music! And he HAS to do the HP score, without him it just wouldn't be right at all! He created Hedwig's theme, that theme will stay throughout all 7 films as the HP theme. He created wonderful music to add to the magic, the mystery, add thrill and adventure and a little bit of madness (Aunt Marge's Waltz and The Knight Bus!) As you can see from my siggy I LOVE the PoA soundtrack that when someone had made some pictures with the names of the tracks on them I HAD to have them, that's why they are credited wish I could make some as great as they are.
Anyway, John Williams has to do GoF, it doesn't make any sense if he leaves. His music is wonderful for HP! Maybe he could do both, I mean James Horner did the music for Troy in 2 WEEKS. He could easily do both, I'm sure. The films don't come out till next year, he's got a whole year to do both, 6 months on one, 6 months on the other! Don't let someone else do it John! It'd just be like letting someone else play Harry or Snape or someone... :/

I can understand wanting to leave the series at his best but c'mon, we love the music the way it is. I dont want it to change! i agree with you i mean i love the soundtracks and the music but wot i cant believe is that he is backing off dang.

Of course I'm disappointed that John Williams may not score GoF, but it's quite difficult to deal with a legend like him. If there's no way he can score the music for Harry Potter 4, We don't have any other choice but to find someone else. The famous 'Hedwig's theme' could be used by another composer so it would fit with the rest of the soundtrack. I was thinking of Hans Zimmer since he did the music for "King Arthur", he also scored "The Lion King", "Gladiator", "Pearl Harbor", "The Ring", and also a big part of "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". Since 1994, I would consider Hans Zimmer as the greatest composer for movies, he masters all kinds of music genres (action, drama, suspense, fantasy, and even comedy and family movies). If John can't make it, I would not wait any longer to call him for the job. :sorcerer:
As a second choice, I would consider Howard Shore basing on his job on the legendary Lord of the Rings :sorcerer: . But, I would think a little bit more before hiring him :online2long: since his background was more focused on dark and/or suspenseful movies (The Silence of the Lambs, The Cell, The Client). :whisle:
My ultimate choice will remain Hans Zimmer.
Any other ideas?

Bummer.. I really enjoyed his work. Maybe he'll come back if he decides not to do GoF.. I can understand why he might not do it, but then again, who knows.

He has to do it!!! My world will be crushed if he doesn't! It'll be rather easy for him, he's already got Hedwig's Theme written and that's all he really needs...Maybe I should work out his schedule... |

OMG!! that'd horrible!!! he is the best composer and the HP soundtracks are soo moving!! he writes the most incredible music that fits perfectly with HP and it adds to the mood of the film!! i love the soundtracks and i couldn't imagine GOF without him writing the score.
i can't believe that-i dont know why he'd back out now like Emma said-what with being with such a successful franchise-that's kind of dumb on his part (no offense) but hopefully he will work out his schedule and fit in time to work on HP!!! he has to!!!!!
