Harry Potter actors Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort) and Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) will be honoured at this year's British Independent Film Awards, sent to take place in London on December 4, 2011. 
Ralph will receive the outstanding contribution to film by an actor award, named after the late Sir Richard Harris (Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films); Kenneth will get the Variety Award, for helping to "focus the international spotlight on the UK," an accolade also given to author J.K. Rowling. KENNETH BRANAGH AND RALPH FIENNES TO BE HONOURED AT THE 14th MOËT BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS
London, Wednesday 23rd November – Recipients of both The Richard Harris Award and The Variety Award were announced today by Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson, joint Directors, The Moët British Independent Film Awards.
Ralph Fiennes will receive the coveted Richard Harris Award and Kenneth Branagh The Variety Award at the awards ceremony on Sunday 4th December at Old Billingsgate.
The Richard Harris Award was introduced in 2003 in honour of Richard Harris and recognises outstanding contribution to British film by an actor. Previous winners have included John Hurt, David Thewlis, Bob Hoskins, Jim Broadbent, Daniel Day-Lewis and most recently Helena Bonham Carter in 2010.
Both Ralph Fiennes and Kenneth Branagh will be present at Old Billingsgate on the 4th December to receive their awards.
Ralph was nominated for the Douglas Hickox Award at the BIFAs this year for his directorial debut in Coriolanus; his former Harry Potter costars Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), and Peter Mullan (Yaxley) are competing with each other for the Best Actor award.  | |

He's so great by playing Lord Voldemort...Can't imagine another way the Dark Lord would be but the way Ralph Fiennes does play.

I love the fact that is The Richard Harris Award, and that some of the previous winners have been: John Hurt, David Thewlis, Jim Broadbent, and Helena Bonham Carter, it should be called 'the Richard Harris award to honor the harry potter actors'
