| | | Half-Blood Prince receives PG-rating in US (UPDATED)
Despite comments from the cast and crew that Half-Blood Prince would be the darkest of the films released, the Motion Picture Association of America has announced today that the sixth movie has received a PG rating in the US for "scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality." Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be out July 17, 2009. UPDATE: Although IMAX was reporting that the film has a rating of PG-13, Warner Bros has confirmed to us that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has a PG rating. |

Just because the movie was rated more "child friendly" probably doesn't mean that it will be less dark. I'm just going to keep my hopes up lol....

I'm surprised at this getting a PG rating. But I was surprised that Order of the Phoenix received one as well. If Deathly Hallows continues the trend, Goblet of Fire will be the only PG-13!
That's kind of weird... o.O

Wow its only PG? I had expected it to be PG-13 like the last two movies were.

This is a bit dissapointing if you ask me. But who knows, I hope it turns out as good as I've hoped.

Like i said somewhere else. I think that alot will be on the Extra portion of the dvd if its rated pg. But then again it can still be a bit dark and still be pg.

i hate to say this and i don't want to believemyself, but i feel like this will be the worst movie yet out of the bunch, this movie should really be alot about voldemort's past, malfoy's secret and snape, the horcruxes, then with a little romance on the side, the book was not a comedy yet the movie is somehow the funniest yet, and they leave out one of the best chapters in all of the books, dumledore's funeral, i read all the test screening reviews and i know the movie wasn't fully done but only one person said it was good and he was more of trying to keep everybody's hopes up while realizing there were weaknesses, i'm just extremely worried about this movie, i hope it proves me wrong but the signs aren't looking good.
