'Goblet of Fire' gets an M rating in Australia

'Goblet of Fire' has been given an M rating in Australia. This means it is recommended for those who are 15 and over however there is no actual restriction on who can see the film or whether parents should accompany children to see it. The reasons given were 'Moderate fantasy violence' which 'contains material that requires a mature perspective.'

15? Whoa! Thank god I don't live there!

half blood queen 11-09-2005 03:18 PM

15?!?! I'm only 12! So glad I don't live there.

verysolange 11-09-2005 03:28 PM

15? that's a bit exagerated.. I mean at the age of 10/11 you know what's scary or not!

Nabs 11-09-2005 04:32 PM

wow! i cant wait! all this violence ratings...bwahaha

Anirock 11-09-2005 04:41 PM

15?!? not a children's book now, huh if the movie has this rating?

Leeness 11-09-2005 04:41 PM

15 and over? I think thats a bit harsh, but i'm not to sure how the Australian system works. But as long as everyone can get a chance to see it if they want to.

loony 4 ........ 11-09-2005 04:52 PM

^ Yes thats a bit mean. I mean there are so many HP fans who are not even teenagers.......

Kitty Loves Steps 11-09-2005 04:54 PM

Whoa i know some people in OZ. Luckily they are older than 15.

But it does say that they dont have to have a parent with them!! I think thats strange seeing as they say its suitable for 15s and over!

Mrs Felton 11-09-2005 05:25 PM

Kind of over-exaggerating the violence now.. 15 is a bit over the top.. But they can still get in.

annalle 11-09-2005 05:55 PM

15?!
I canīt wait to see it, but i life in austria..... so i`ve to wait till 15 nov.

Lady_Jezz 11-09-2005 06:06 PM

wow, 15, that's pretty old.....but if noone is checking up on it, it doesn't really matter all that much. I remember I once went to the cinema in Brussels (Belgium) and we wanted to see 'Go', it was rated for 16 and older, I was still 15, so because of me, everyone had to see a diff movie, I felt so bad about that, but they really checked my ID for it....

Do you know what GoF is rated in the Netherlands??? I must have missed it, or was it like 12 or something....

Hey annalle, question...doesn't it bother you that you have to watch the film in German??? I mean, it's spoken-over isn't it?! I once tried to watch an American film while in Austria...well, the film sucked anyway, but I thought it was soooo annoying to not hear the real voices....

foreverxlonely48 11-09-2005 07:48 PM

15? wow....i think that's a bit too harsh but i don't know their movie rating system though. i think the US rating (pg-13) is a good area for the movie but that's just my opinion.

mione_girlgwp 11-09-2005 08:14 PM

wow 15. Thats really high. But hey whatever floats your boat

HOSAgirl 11-09-2005 08:22 PM

That is really harsh. I've seen worse stuff on T.V. that has a PG rating.

beatboxing_chipmunk 11-09-2005 08:25 PM

I think that it's good that HP is finally being recognized as more than a children's series.

Hermionespell 11-09-2005 08:36 PM

I'm glad Harry Potter is being recognized as more than a children's book/movie. Because, it's really not! (Well, not only ;D)

Harry Potter rocks!

18th of November is coming soon ;D

cocogodessmegrly1 11-09-2005 09:20 PM

tomfeltonfanbigtime 11-09-2005 09:22 PM

L.a.m.b 11-09-2005 09:24 PM

Griffiths123 11-09-2005 09:34 PM
