If she even knew what that meant. Didn't matter, this wasn't about her right now. It was about befriending people from Level 3 so she could have more reasons to stop by that level.

Brilliant plan if you asked her. Alexa took the wand when it was offered and fed it to the machine. While she waited, her focus shifted once again to this one. "I'll be needing your name too, for verification and all." With a nod toward the machine by way of explanation.

"So what division'd you get inside A&C?" Asking all the questions. See how much she CAREDnot??

Kai was a little surprised at the young woman's forwardness, but she couldn't say that she didn't like it. She had not seen the young woman this inquisitive with some of the others that came through her line, but she didn't overly question it. It was at least outwardly, positive at the moment. "I am certain that we will. It is a pleasure to meet you Lex and always a bit safer to have aurors around." Even if they were in training to a degree, Aurors were good friends to make and keep. She smiled at the slightly younger woman. She almost added a miss to her name, but she remembered how Rhydian had become upset at her use of sir. She was not sure if she should refrain from using such words in this country, at least for now.

Kai watched the machine like a hawk, she loved her wand and would about flip a switch if it got destroyed. It was ministry protocol and all the others had done it she knew but......still...... Oh her name, of course whoops forgot introductions. She smiled a little sheepishly. "Annette Kaimi Fern."

Position too? She didn't think that was pertaining to the registration. Perhaps it was a form of curiosity? Perhaps the young woman was just being polite. Either way, she was within the ministry and it was not an undue question at all. "I will be in the P.A.R.T., as an Urgent Response Officer." Her smile stayed through the entire conversation, Kai was generally pretty friendly and very laid back. She was certain that she would be fine with and seeing Lex again and given their positions they may even need to liaise in the future.

On the last of her days off. Did anyone even realize how warm and soft her bed was that morning??

Like a cloud on a perfect summer day...

"Feels nice to have you here," she smiled in return, traces of sleep still present in her voice. Give her five hours, she'd eventually wake up. Speaking of brothers however, she glanced over to where Hazel had waved, not missing the look the woman had given her.

Oh, Logan. What a lovely surprise.

Smirkity smirk smirk.

"Hey LOGAN!" she called, "You tryin' to sell those fuzz monkey medallions again?"

For real though, what was it? It was shiny and cool and she wanted one.

Letting his gaze wander over in the direction of the table near the big and ugly machine he saw a woman but if she had been the one giving him looks remained to be seen. Logan shot her a smile nonetheless.

"Lo!" He knew that voice anywhere. Turning around slightly from the brunette he was talking to Logan’s face cracked up into an excited beam at the sight of his sister and Mammy which he waved to with a free hand. "Haze, Mammy! I thought you had already gone past the security check point?" But he knew how much time especially his big sis wasted on making sure that she looked absolutely stunning so it was entirely possible that they had just arrived for the event. "Isn't it exciting that we are going to be working in the same building?" And not be divided by an ocean and country borders. It was good to be home again.

'Goosegrass??' What did that mean? Logan wondered confused. Resolving that the man probably had directed the question at him rather than the brunette, he held up the medallion in the light as he spoke. "I'm just offering out some free medallions to ensure better self-protection in these unrestful times. Is it not our duties as employees of the Ministry to make sure that everyone can go about their day feeling protected and safe even if we are all skilled wizards and witches?"

He read the Prophet and even if Logan didn't believe everything he read he didn’t think it was bad if he handed these lovely looking things to his new colleagues. They were after all tried and tested with good results.

Spotting a woman that looked over at was he misinterpreted as his direction Logan impulsively waved to her calling out "Hello, would you like a free medallion for self-protection? It doubles as a lovely necklace that will heighten any dress or outfit you might want to wear." Hopefully if this woman came over and accepted a medallion he wouldn’t need to win everyone over.

While his attention had been momentarily diverted by other people Mammy and Hazel had come closer to where he was standing. A hurt feeling crossed and left his face just as quickly as he called over to Mammy to correct her since he knew she was just teasing him as usual. "I'm not selling medallions I'm giving them away for free and they are cool and useful for protection."

"You know you want one!" Logan said. He had a special one with a skull that he knew that Mammy would love but he kept it in his pocket for now.

Oh, he was speaking to her.

He was.

Lynley let her gaze glide over him...before it registered...He's....talking...to me. To....me. Lynley Purcell. What? Why? Did she looked like she wanted to be approached for some....excuse for a protection medallion? She tried her best not to sneer. No, Lynley kept her face generally passive.

"Excuse you--protection from what? Where did these medallions come from? Are they regulated? Safe? Why should I trust you? They could be cursed--you could be infiltrating our event--" she said coldly, not taking a medallion. Not at all. Nope.

Lynley was pleased she could turn to Aron for....a more stimulating form of conversation. Merlin. Did she really think those medallions were cursed? Not really. But still...it never hurt to be careful.

She was also pleased he had apparently heard of her hire. Oh, to be important. It was lovely.

"Had you? Well good." She said with a glance back at the..medallion boy. And how was she what? The other department head was just as bamboozled by this guy, too, then it seemed? "...Medallions, apparently. I don't trust them. Or him." she said bluntly, but more to mess with the young man. He looked harmless. Lynley just smirked wickedly, though, and brushed a stray strand of her hair from her face. "Where's security? We should have these checked."

Heh.

Hehe.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, he leaned his head towards Lynley. "He is one of mine," he muttered under his breath. "New hire." Merlin help him.

Having his attention distracted by these medallions, Aron's blue eyes fell on one of his returning employees. "Margaret, good to see you made it. And reasonably on time as well," he mused. And she already knew this fellow? Had she been practicing her Memory Charms on him and turned his brain all shrivelfig-like?

Fuzz monkey? He didn't want to know. He really didn't.

Eyes back on the new recruit, he slowly reached for the medallion and took it just to humor the bloke. "And how, exactly, is this supposed to protect me?" he questioned as his voiced mixed with that of the one belonging to the new Transportation Head, blue eyes darting back towards him.

He was more than slightly doubting the legitimacy of this claim.

"Excuse me...may I see one of those?" he asked, hand already ready to take it off the man. Cue suspicious law man checking to make sure something wasn't off.
"Here, knock yourself out," he said, tossing the medallion he had just been offered to Simon was a lazy heave over his shoulder.

There, Lynley. Problem solved. Be proactive about your inquires. Or he could have tossed it to Cambridge who was giving the woman all sorts of amusing looks right now. Ha. Kids.

She wasn't taking her eyes off this one for a second. He was either confused or terrible at deception, neither of which worked well for him right about now when Law Enforcement had some strict orders to follow. Lex didn't know much about the Department Heads unless they were hers, the quackjob creature lady or Aron so the Emmalee was only a toss up on the fact it was a woman's name. Olly was a bit arbitrary...until there was an actual Olly Clarke in the line.

Alexa waved her up to the front of the line, gave her a once over then nodded. "Yup. Me too. That's Olly." Unless there was some polyjuice in play but how random would that be when Olly'd never been in the Ministry records before that she knew of.

She looked to Penelope then the guy then Penelope again. "What'd you reckon we should do with him?" Did Rainey mention protocol for imposters?

Oh! Also. "While you're up here, can I have your wand?" She didn't even KNOW Olly applied. How neat was that?

The machine was moving too fast. If it kept this up he would have to step out of the line then she would lose him to all the orienation festivities. How was that even fair? Here's to hoping Rainey slated her for Level 3 patrols again...if not she'd still be going there anyway. Ahem.

See that? Already had to be giving it back. With a reluctant sigh, Lex fished the wand from the machine and placed it back in his hand.

"Here you go!--" And there was the grin again. Did everyone else hear that? He pitied anyone that tried getting to him while she was there and rightly so. She wasn't just a first year Auror anymore, she had EXPERIENCE. "Trust me, that makes the two of us! Been hard at training if you'll believe it."

Also, did that rude lady NOT see her talking to the gorgeous man? How. Very. Rude. Alexa made a point of leaning over the desk, firmly inserting herself a little more. "So, Mr. Ashburry-Hawthorne, did'ja have a good winter? How's Bentley?" Excuse you lady, she was here first.

Alexa took the wand when it was offered and fed it to the machine eagerly. First time machine use tended to fall into the eager category, didn't it? How was one NOT enchanted with this thing?

While she waited, Lex levitated an orientation package over to her and slid it across to the woman. "You'll find the basic starter stuff in there, including a badge." Ones they'd had to make earlier before the guests started arriving. It had all been lovely in truth, finally fully being back at work, only thing now was wondering where her partner was. He did know he was meant to show up, yeah?

With the machine done, she checked the name that came up, verifying it matched the one provided and had nothing additionally floating around. "Right then...I think that's it." She handed her her wand again with a smile. "Enjoy the afternoon and welcome again!"

Now THAT was hardly fair--not that Lex would have opted to switch departments EVER but at the same time, the people who got Level 3 were a bunch of lucky sods, even when most didn't know it. Well, she knew and was like to do as she wanted on the matter. "Reckon we might get along real great. The name's Lex by the way. Magical Law Enforcement 2nd Year YATI." If she even knew what that meant. Didn't matter, this wasn't about her right now. It was about befriending people from Level 3 so she could have more reasons to stop by that level.

"So what division'd you get inside A&C?" Asking all the questions. See how much she CAREDnot??

Linda Elizabeth Manning. Right. That's the name she'd be expecting from the machine. "It's always sorta a little overwhelming when you just start out, especially in such a huge place like this one. You might like it, depending on the department and all." No one said she had to leave her personal biases at home...so she didn't.

A moment later the beep of the machine caught her attention and drew her back to the machine. Lex leaned over, reading the name and the description before plucking the wand and handing it back to her. "Everything seems normal. You're all cleared. Enjoy the orientation."

In all the crowding that was starting to happen at the desk it was safe to say that if he hadn't raised his hand at all, Lex might not have seen him. As it was, she DID see him and recognized him immediately too--mostly because one did not forget someone that gave you a bunch of chocolate frogs in one go.

Good times.

"Hey! I didn't know you'd be coming to the Ministry. What department?" Last she'd seem him he was preparing for exams and now here he was. Shame Simon got to him first but it was all the same, her plate was rather full at the moment, as proven by the person whose wand she was currently weighing.

When would this end?

SPOILER!!: Sophie and Mordred

It was for real though, she was trying to put her finger on it because this guy DID seem real familiar and it would bother her if she never figured out why. By now she was sure it was Hogwarts...Slytherin, which narrowed it down quite a bit. In her earlier years it was either she liked that sort or she did NOT. No in between. Anger wasn't the first thing she felt, looking at his face which automatically meant he wasn't one of those she avoided desperately.

It was when one SOPHIE MORDAUNT showed up that she realized.

OOOHHHHHHHHH!!!

Yes yes, of course, it was all making sense now. Mhm. "O'course I do." She replied to his question with a grin as she accepted his wand. "You'd never believe it but the dessert bar in the food court actually sells them. I'll never have to go without." WHICH WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

Her grin remained as she looked next to Sophie. "I'm great! Training to be an Auror--gonna be Head Auror one day but you know, baby steps while while I get certified." Gave Legend way enough time to retire...just saying since death was now partially off the table.

"Oh! Before I forget." She levitated two packages from the pile and slid them across the desk to the two. "These are for you, you'll find your badges and some starter stuff in there." The big question was, "What departments?"

Ah yes, there was his wand. The only protection he really needed.

Gladly accepting it back from the YATI, he returned it to his holster and briefly ignored other present company to give Cambridge his full attention. "Aron, just Aron. All that is too much of a mouthful and some Dark wizard will have offed you before you finished just the Ashburry," he teased. "Good to have a bit more down time at home with Seren and Derfael, but our work is never truly over, right?" As anyone in Law Enforcement was well aware of, but she did live for that sort of thing, right? "Still nice to be back on the officially clock, however."

And now that he had his wand back...he could go inside, yeah? Probably head straight towards the food once he did.

Adam walked through the gates and stopped to look around. It was busy and it was crowded. Apparently the Ministry did it’s hiring in mass quantities. It was a bit surprising, but then again, it did explain the large job postings list he had perused at the urging of his father. Get a real job. Eber had exclaimed the last time they talked. Adam sighed. This was not going to be fun. He hated government, but it was the only organization he had been able to procure a offer from in the last 2 months.

He was jostled by another person who was making their way towards a group of staff guarding some large bulky brass machines. Might as well get going, he thought falling into step behind the person who had jostled his shoulder. He fell into line to wait for the next available staff member to help him. As he waited he watched. It appeared they were recording wands and handing out packets. If the packets were filled with employment paperwork, well, Adam’s hands were going to be cramping by the end of the day. He had felt like he’d signed his life away when he had received the job agreement paperwork that allowed him to be here today.

The line moved slowly and Adam waited patiently.

It was a good thing that his wife had finally made it to the checkpoint, and literally called out the names he was desperately trying to fish out from his memory bank. Stonewall, Jory. Got it.

It didn’t take long for Sophie to blurt out the lady’s name in front of them. Alexa. Alexa Cambridge, Alice Fisher.

Mordred grinned as he felt Sophie’s hand in his. He had to prevent himself from chuckling because, they were in a somewhat formal place right now. He did squeeze her hand a bit to calm his wife down. Mordred couldn’t tell if she was nervous or excited, or both.

The happy mood stayed as he addressed Alexa back. “That is good news then. How is your training so far?” Shouldn’t hurt to make some small talk with a former Hogwartian, right? To be honest, he was more at ease when talking to an alumna.

Mordred nodded as he eyed the starter kits before them. “Sophie’s in Accidents and Catastrophes, and I’m in Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.” Seriously, they could just owl those kits to them and get down to work.

Sophie chuckled as Alexa answered Mordred's question about Chocolate Frogs and told them the Ministry's food court sold them. This place already sounded really cool, even though she hadn't done a full tour around. She didn't really need a tour to know that a place was cool!

"Ohh, how nice!!" The former Hufflepuff smiled brightly. Mordred had considered being an Auror, she remembered that. Head Auror! That was a lot of ambition, but Sophie was glad Alexa was that confident. Maybe that was exactly what it took for someone to become a Head Auror in the first place. "Baby steps are important; you learn a lot while working towards your goal." Sophie nodded and returned Alexa's grin.

!!!!!!!! Look at Mordred being sociable!! HOW SWEET! Sophie smiled up at him because she was so proud of him and also because he was so handsome.

Oh, their badges and starter stuff!! This was TOO EXCITING and Sophie was suddenly very curious to see what was in there. Sweet Merlin, it almost felt like the day she started at Hogwarts. Everything so NEW and different and EXCITING! The 21 year-old nodded as her husband told Lex what Departments they belonged to and tried to see what the girl was doing to the wand. Soon she would need Sophie's wand too, right? She was already holding it just in case since she didn't want to hold up the queue too much.

Hades was not late, but he definitely wasn't very early. He'd learnt that being absurdly early often didn't make anyone happy and he might end up catching them unprepared and that there would be almost nobody to talk to. This almost nobody generally included abosutely no pretty ladies either, so he was on the slightly late side of punctual. However little sense that made.

His eyes narrowed as he reached a rather alarming machine that let out whistling sounds every few minutes. And seeing people giving their wands to be put into the machines. If there was one thing Durmstrang had taught him, it was that you never voluntarily part with your wand. And if you did part with it, to get it back at the closest opportunity. The machine also brought another question to mind. Would he have to surrender his wand for testing every day?

At least one of the wand-weighing people was very pretty.

He could practically sense the nerves radiating off of them. Sigh. His thick eyebrows rose just barely over the large glasses frames he wore crookedly on his nose as he took his place in line, waiting until many of them scurried off to who knows where.

As he began to gather his wand and other necessary belongings for check in, he listened in as the others spoke, wondering vaguely who he might be forced to share an office space with. He hoped silently that he might find an enclosed space upstairs just for him and his many supplies, but had a sinking feeling that wouldn't be the case. He glanced up towards the service desk, tapping his foot quietly without realizing it. How long would this take?
Somewhat distracted by the activities inside and the sight of her partner who'd opted to head for food thanks to not being slated to work, Lex had let Simon and Tyler grab the last guy. Wand weighing wasn't exactly astrophysics and it wasn't wrangling a baddie to the floor and hauling them off to the cells so she was just fine with letting them handle it.

Thing was...with them handling that one, it meant the next to approach the counter would undoubtedly be hers. How quickly she forgot little facts like that. With the man now standing there, however, her memory bounced right back and she straightened where she stood.

"Hi, welcome to the Ministry of Magic." Her cheeks were starting to get sore from all this smiling. How did happy people do it all the time? This was exhausting. "I'll be needing your wand and your name for now then we can get you an orientation pack and you'll be all set." Her hand reached out for his wand and her fingers wiggled some. Hand it over dude.

Man, was this a crazy throw back or what? Having the two standing here reminded her of days she used to run around some castle in a far off place trying not to get killed...while simultaneously reminding her of how much they'd all grown up. They were married now, weren't they? Least that's what she heard last time and she doubted they'd be so chummy if they split afterwards.

It was just one of those crazy things that happened. People growing up and being different. Even Vivi was married now and she'd heard about Kurumi's kid. Kinda weird when she thought about it...and oddly terrifying...Yup.

Sophie had the right idea about baby steps. "Yeah, I'm getting that more and more. Some steps I wish I could skip already." Like this wand weighing stuff. "But others I really like and feel I'll need when I'm Head Auror later on." Because it would happen, she was sure of it.

So to answer Mordred's question simply. "I love it. Love every minute of my job--opted to work through the break too because I couldn't really think of other things I would have rather been doing." Still couldn't but it mattered less now with work starting again and all. The beep brought her attention back to the machine where she fished out his wand and extended it to him. "Those two Departments are legit a level apart. Did you two plan that??" Some crazy coincidence right there. Oh and she'd be taking Sophie's wand now. Into the machine you go.

SPOILER!!: Kai ^_^

Now that's what she was talking about. No questions asked. No tedious suspicions about other motives, just blind acceptance of the fact Lex had said they would get along. It wasn't so far from the truth. Lex didn't typically dislike people until they gave her reason to and so far all this one did was add to the growing pile of reasons why they needed to run into each other again....on Level 3. That part was very important. Wouldn't go telling her it was a 'pleasure' to meet her just yet, on account of Lex liking to make sure it really was a pleasure first but she could agree on the Auror bit. "Lots of people find Aurors to be great company to keep. We go where all the real adventures are." Coming back was a different story but that was all part of the job.

Ah and there was the wand now. Lex spun to grab the wand from the machine, sparring a moment to glance down at the thing and watch the name appear. It was a match to the one offered....didn't look to be tampered with....wasn't giving off any false positives. "Merlin, that's a mouthful." She commented as she turned to hand her wand back. "Y'got anything shorter than that?" It was the least she could do after being offered 'Lex'.

Alexa handed the wand back. "Urgent Response, eh? Fascinating, you'll have to tell me about it sometime. You're all set."

SPOILER!!: Aron

And she already knew this fellow? Had she been practicing her Memory Charms on him and turned his brain all shrivelfig-like?

Fuzz monkey? He didn't want to know. He really didn't.

Eyes back on the new recruit, he slowly reached for the medallion and took it just to humor the bloke. "And how, exactly, is this supposed to protect me?" he questioned as his voiced mixed with that of the one belonging to the new Transportation Head, blue eyes darting back towards him.

He was more than slightly doubting the legitimacy of this claim.

Ha. Kids.

Vaguely, Lex was aware of the nutjob passing off necklaces to people in place of proper security like THEY happened to be standing just on the other side of the table but she was too busy talking to Aron--because he said she could call him that--to be bothered with telling him to stuff those flimsy pieces of jewelry down a hole before he embarrassed himself further. And had that woman really just asked where security was????

"What are we? Chopped flobberworms? Stunted diricawls?" Serious question, asked both to Aron and Miss Snooty-Puff (Lynley) next to him. Aron JUST said he felt bad for anyone that tried anything around her and here this lady was acting like they didn't exist despite her head currently being a separating force between the two. It was the ultimate level of invisible. Rainey would be so proud. She, however, was thoroughly discouraged and indignant. Thankfully Simon stepped up to deal because she wasn't. Quackjob could keep his necklaces and she could choke on one.

Lex forced her thoughts back to Aron, decidedly more interested in what he had to say anyway. "Woooow, sounds like you were busy even on break. You should let me help sometimes. Mhm. I'd be a GREAT asset, just ask Rainey. Babysitting's a breeze." Him. Babysitting him. She could watch him aaaaall day.

Just how much more of this were they expected to do? Alexa would never complain aloud, mostly because Rainey could be somewhere about the place watching them and she'd be damned if she shot herself in the foot with a comment that was less than expected of her but at the same time, wand weighing, handing out packages...this was possibly worse than being told they had to write up reports on patrols where absolutely NOTHING happened. So tedious.

Hazel eyes watched the latest to approach. He didn't seem eager...didn't seem tense...didn't seem...well anything really. Took only a moment of trying to read him before she gave up completely. He wasn't giving away much. "Welcome to the Ministry of Magic. I'll be needing your wand for a moment, your name and a smile because if I gotta then so do you."

Cramping cheeks, it was the least he could do.

Yeah...she was over this wand weighing life. It had been fun the first time or three but then it dropped into a routine and a bloody boring one at that. If possible, all the people started looking like each other after some point. THAT was what happened when person after person stepped up all for the same reason and she might have been going brain dead.

How mad would anyone really be if she snuck off to get herself a sandwich? She felt like she'd been here for hours--when really it might have been one or two.

Lex watched another approach, feeling her lips spread involuntarily into a smile; a habit they'd learned to fall into all on there own at some point today. "Hi! Welcome to the Ministry of Magic." Something she'd been saying since she got here.

"I'm gonna need you to hand over your wand. A name would be nice too." Those would be a good place to start.

"Thank you, miss," he smiled, eyes twinkling. He knew this thing was a good idea. Barely ten minutes in and there was already a pretty girl. "It's good to be here." He had to be honest, now. He was probably expecting the ministry to be run by old, graying men. Pretty ladies were a very welcome alternative.

Smiling tightly so as not to grimace, he handed over his wand. The wand he hadn't parted with since he got it. "Hades Grahn, miss." That was his name. Feel free to comment on his mother's fixation with Greek mythology. "Do I get a name in return?" Wink.

Hazel was still smiling as they took yet another few steps up the queue towards the wand weighers. They were getting there though. Glancing at Mammy, she rolled her eyes at the woman. ”Come on Mammy, wake up. You know Boo would be rolling her eyes at you and telling you how she’s been up for hours already.” The comment wasn’t said loudly, more a passing comment to the brunette at her side. Hehe.

”You aren’t getting rid of me.” Y’know, ever. Small smile to the woman and a quick squeeze of her hand.

Hazel couldn’t hold the roll of her eyes in as Mammy shouted on Logan and insulted his medallions. Sort of. Family insults were never really insults - or at least, they weren’t with them. Heh. Part of having such a big family, really. Especially a crazy one like hers.

With a grin, she shook her head at Lo. ”No, net yet.” Obviously. Duh, why did she say that? Oh well, it was said now. ”Of course. We’re taking over.” Well, obviously not really they were only three workers but still - it felt amazing to be working together with Lo and Mammy - especially since she was getting to join Jazz in Mysteries again. Hehehe. She was work!hooome.

”Actually, she’s got a good point. What are they?” She asked after he had finished talking to the other woman (LYNLEY), letting go of Mammy’s hand to go to her brother, waiting with a hand out until he gave her own. Hehe, thanks bro. She turned it over in her hand, grinning at him. ”Can I have this one?” She asked.

Standing next to the pair, Hazel grinned as someone came to talk to Mammy. Ooohhh. He got off with calling her Margaret? Interesting. The Scottish woman couldn’t help the giggle that escaped her lips at that. ”Margaret.” She whispered, eyes glinting with teasing. There was no way she would get off with that - in fact, Leza couldn’t even remember the last time she had called her partner that - first year at Hogwarts? Before promptly being told that her name wasn’t Margaret, it was Mary. Or, at least she prefered Mary. Hehe.

The smile never left Hazel’s face as he teased her for being here at a decent time. ”Probably because I dragged her.” She said to the man. ”Hazel Ward,” She said, holding her hand out in welcome. ”I’m just returning today after a two and a half years away.” She looked at Mammy slightly, wondering if she should be making a better impression… Who was this man? Hmm… She guessed she would soon find out. ”This is my younger brother, Logan Entienne.” She told Aron, wondering silently if having a name he would realise there was nothing to be suspicious about. He was just excited to ber here.

Hazel looked up as she noticed one of the younger men approached them, probably about Logan’s age actually, asking him to see one of the medallions. She raised a single eyebrow, but said nothing as she stood with her brother and her partner. Wife? Heh. Whatever, Mammy. Smile. She had just heard a few people questioning him about the medallions, so perhaps it was about that. But still, didn’t they realise they were innocent.

Right? She eyed Logan. They were safe right, Lo? Hmmm.

Ha, before Logan could hand over another medallion, the man who knew Mammy gave him his one. Perfect. Thank you Mister - though, that meant that he didn’t get to keep his. Weird. Oh well.

Smiling, Hazel gave the name man a smile. ”Hi. I’m Hazel, and this is Logan - and you probably know Mammy already.” She said, motioning to the brunette once again. Okay, so it was her job - as always - to smooth over new situations. Yup, just as well she liked social situations. And she eyed the clearing queue’s wistfully, before she resolved herself to waiting for Logan. No way she was letting her baby brother get into trouble before he had even STARTED his job. She looked at Mammy, and gave her a small nod, and a slight motion to her brother. She would understand. Smile.

Did she just ask for his wand and demand he smile in the same breath? “Ah…” he noised (for Ah isn’t really a word) before he pulled his wand out from the inner pocket of his leather jacket and passed it over. “Ah-dahm GE-ruwlf ,” he offered as he tried to smile, but it probably looked forced and unnatural and perhaps a bit creepy. “I sure you are sleepy of smiling,” he said in heavily accented (and poor) English. Knowing he probably had mixed up his English again, Adam blushed a pale pink that hit high on the cheek bones.

The girl seemed bored and tired of interacting with people. For her sake, he hoped their interaction wouldn’t take long as there was still quite a sizable line behind him. He glanced around, a bit twitchy. Now that he did not have his wand on his person, he felt naked and vulnerable. It was a feeling that he didn’t like, but he tried his best to remain calm and undeterred looking. “You weigh wands because? “ he asked purely out of curiosity and as a way to pass the time while the machine was busy.

Lysander looked up from his crossed arms as he heard a female voice directed towards him with a peppy welcome, his green eyes scanning her face with mild interest. His large dark glasses were there for a reason -- he had terrible eyesight and without them would have had a hard time even seeing the huge desk two feet from his person. As he looked at her through the thick glass, his green eyes appeared even larger than they already were and made him resemble some kind of tall insect.

He approached the desk as she welcomed him and swiftly handed over the wand she requested - a twelve and a half inch wand of Ash with a core of unicorn hair. When he glanced up she still had a smile on her face -- he wondered vaguely how long she had kept that smile on for this orientation purpose. How annoying that must've been to smile all the time, all day. "Lysander Norman Ryle," he announced his name in a dull tone, not particularly in the mood to match her energy. Feeling the silence and in turn the awkwardness he often brought to interactions, he flashed a glimpse of his pearly whites in a smile which disappeared as quickly as it arrived and left behind a feeling of mild sarcasm.

"Boo is not human," her (almost noticeable) smile fell as she grumbled, squeezing Leza's hand softly in return. Might as well not even try to pretend she was awake now though. Took less energy. Energy she needed for all the smiles and polite talking that she had to do today.

Although, she gave in after a second and lightly rested her head upon Leza's shoulder for the time being.

Protection from...what?

"Pfft, in your dreams," she said, lifting her head from Leza's shoulder as she inspected the medallion from the foot or so they were away from it. 'Course she wanted one, but not in front of her boss and especially not when it was attracting unwanted attention. As Leza let go of her hand, she took the short moment to nonchalantly move to Logan's side.

Ahem, "You have more of those, right?"

Smile.

A shudder ran down her spine from hearing her full name. Oh god. "Please, Boss, just...just Mary is fine, please," she glanced towards the woman next to her with a glare in her eyes. Don't even.

No hand-holding for you, Hazel Ward - light of her life honey muffin angel face.

Huffing quietly, she resisted crossing her arms and pouting, instead taking the moment to glance around to see who else was there... completely forgetting to introduce Leza to her Boss but the redhead had that covered. It wasn't until her proper name was called that she turned back to the conversations in front of her.

Ah, the MLE dude.

"Perhaps," Mammy tilted her head to the side slightly, staring at the man. Have they met? Her brain was too fuzzy from sleep still to remember. She needed COFFEE. "Though you'll have to excuse this one here," she gestured to Logan over her shoulder with her thumb, "Never did have a good grasp on the proper way to make friends. Honestly can't hurt even a fly. I'm sure you'll have tons of fun inspecting that medallion...or, you know, not."

Since there was probably nothing wrong with it and all.

This girl seemed rather enthusiastic about her job , the auror part, and that was a good thing indeed. "I should think so, I certainly prefer Aurors around and if adventures are what you are about then we will get along famously." Kai was being perfectly serious about that too. She was one of those children that had spent some time on a leash in her younger days. Sometimes she simply followed her feet and couldn't help herself.......

She accepted her wand back and twirled it in her fingers to make sure that it felt the same. "That sounds like a plan. Appreciated, Lex. I am certain I'll see you soon."

Ha. Kids.

”You aren’t getting rid of me.” Y’know, ever. Small smile to the woman and a quick squeeze of her hand.

SPOILER!!: (This is after Logan has spoken to Lynley <3) Mammy and Logan

SPOILER!!: Aron, Simon - Rearranged so they work together

Although, she gave in after a second and lightly rested her head upon Leza's shoulder for the time being.

SPOILER!!: Logan + Leza (sorta)

Protection from...what?

"Pfft, in your dreams," she said, lifting her head from Leza's shoulder as she inspected the medallion from the foot or so they were away from it. 'Course she wanted one, but not in front of her boss and especially not when it was attracting unwanted attention. As Leza let go of her hand, she took the short moment to nonchalantly move to Logan's side.

Ahem, "You have more of those, right?"

SPOILER!!: Aron + Leza + Simon

A shudder ran down her spine from hearing her full name. Oh god. "Please, Boss, just...just Mary is fine, please," she glanced towards the woman next to her with a glare in her eyes. Don't even.

No hand-holding for you, Hazel Ward - light of her life honey muffin angel face.

Huffing quietly, she resisted crossing her arms and pouting, instead taking the moment to glance around to see who else was there... completely forgetting to introduce Leza to her Boss but the redhead had that covered. Since there was probably nothing wrong with it and all.

Oh look...flying amulet sent his way.

Simon caught it easily as Aron offered the one in his position to look at. "Thank you..." he said simply as he slipped out his own wand. The security man wasn't interested in it for himself....no...he was more concerned there was something wrong with the item. He wasn't taking any chances, especially not with recent events happening. He ran a few quick yet thorough spells on the item in his hand.

Oh look....the woman with the man with the medallions were introducing them. The security man listened and nodded in acknowledgement as he worked on his scans. Hazel....Logan...and Mammy. Simon was figuring the comment about the last was directed at Aron since he himself didn't know the woman. Yep...returning employee the department head confirmed. At least the elder man seemed as skepical about the necklace's power. Defense in the Ministry wasn't needed...by jewelry and he was in no way a fan of items like it.

"I daresy there are better ways to defend yourself," he remarked, handing it back.

He gave himself a quick pat down before whipping it out of his pocket. "Here we are." Before handing it over. He was beginning to feel pretty official. Which was cool. It calmed him down a bit. Just a bit, heh.

Lucio Serge Auditore

That name rang a bell but Simon didn't connect it right away. "Thank you, Mr. Auditore," he said as he accepted the offered wand, setting it into the machine once it was free for the next customer. The MLEr letting the clerk handle his id and welcome packet. Oh look...Lex knew the man and she made a point of acknowledging it. Looking between them, he figured it did make sense...especially given he would peg them at being roughly the same age.

And that's when it hit him.

About the same time as the young woman asked the newcomer which department he was in.

"Are you the new YATI?" There had been one in the round of checks on new hires but it wasn't like it was easy keeping all the new names in check.

Smiling tightly so as not to grimace, he handed over his wand. The wand he hadn't parted with since he got it. "Hades Grahn, miss." That was his name. Feel free to comment on his mother's fixation with Greek mythology. "Do I get a name in return?" Wink.

Miss. When was the last time she got called that? For real. Might have been Hogwarts. All those 'Miss Cambridge' remarks that got thrown around but it was safe to say she hadn't been a 'Miss Anything' since then--until now obviously. For now she'd ignore it until she could correct him...that wasn't going to become a thing...."You have no idea yet." Because he was new and still didn't fully know how grand this place was. "Though I reckon that depends on your Department. Where you working anyway?"

Naturally she saw the way he tried to hide his displeasure as she took his wand from his hand but by now she was all too use to that. Lots of people were attached to their wand, her included, especially today of all days. "Fancy name you got there." She said, feeding the wand into the machine. 'Fancy' because she didn't really know what ELSE to make of it. Unique? Yeah, that too. "You can just call me Lex."

The young woman spun to face him again while she waited on the machine and ran right into the wink. Huh. Funny that. "Something wrong with your eye?"...Unless it was a wink like Aron's wink just now. You never really knew with strangers. Some had nervous twitches.

SPOILER!!: Adam

It didn't take much for Lex to realize that this one wasn't much of a smiler...or if he was that he simply didn't want to smile for her. "That looks painful." She commented, being quite the observer as she sometimes was. Then he began speaking and things were falling into place more and more. Not English. Probably made everything harder, eh? "Tired." Alexa corrected simply as she took his wand and placed it in the machine. "I'm quite 'tired' of smiling. It's not in my job description and I hardly need it to fight crime." Surely he could understand where she was coming from. Smiling all day accomplished nothing but an aching face and a lot of people judging her.

How many of them would walk away today thinking she was peppy and full of cheer? It was a lie. A big lie that she hoped most of them weren't buying otherwise it could cause problems later on.

Turning to face him again, she noticed at once how on edge he seemed. Kinda....twitchy, y'know? Fascinated, Lex leaned against the desk and stared over at him with avid curiosity. "You're an odd one, aren't you? Expecting something to bust in any minute now?" Would explain the apprehension. For the most part. "Plenty of Law Enforcement on duty, it's perfectly safe." If only on duty didn't mean wand weighing...which, he seemed curious enough about. "It's just a security check. Making sure the wands belong to the owner, making sure there's nothing funny going on in the wood work. All preventative stuff really." Explaining to put his mind at ease a little. Simon could correct her if she wasn't meant to tell.

SPOILER!!: Lysander

As he came closer, Alexa found that there was little she could do but STARE...and stare and you know what? Stare some more. Absentmindedly she took his wand, twirling it between her fingers a little as her hazel eyes locked on his face. Yeah she heard his name and yes she saw what might have been something like a smile but neither could draw her attention away. Eventually she was leaning over the desk, possibly too close while she took in his spectacles.

"Wow.....you've got some big orbs, did'ja know that?" Blink. Blink. What big eyes he had!! Obviously meant he could see her better. How insulting would it be to start holding up fingers and asking him to count?

"I know a spell that'd do the same trick as those glasses...only it'd give you a migraine after a couple hours so I reckon you'd have to give it a break every now and then." Wand weighing? What was that? Lex was much too busy being captivating by the oddity that was the new guy. Curious thing he was. Shame he didn't say much, or smile much for that matter.

SPOILER!!: Kai ^^

And then the woman went and said THAT and Lex was just that much more certain that the possibility of them being friends at all really did exist. "I'll have to keep that in mind." And she would. You could never truly have too many adventure buddies and at some point or the other Lex found herself wandering places alone. Though company wasn't always desired, it was nice sometimes.

The fact even she had tried speaking to her parents about the name didn't surprise her. It was a mouthful in truth. Granted, her entire name was no better and in fact longer but Lex didn't go around introducing herself as Alexa Christina Cambridge. Who even had time for that? Sometimes even 'Alexa' seemed to long for her usage and hardly anyone used it anyway. "Kai. I like it. Short, simple and easy to remember." A relief because Lex wasn't always that great with names to begin with.

Ah but it was time they parted for she could process someone else in the line. Well...she liked to think she sewed enough enough seeds with this one and would accept this with little protest. "Definitely! I'll see you around." GRIN. Especially on Level 3.

Needless to say, Lysander was appropriately alarmed as the unknown girl behind the desk quickly threw out all social constraints of normal distance between humans and leaned precariously into Lysander's personal space. And he liked his personal space. Almost in unison with her movement, the tall gawky young man took a calculated half step away from the desk, though not before she got a good look at his "orbs", as she put it.

Rather perturbed, Lysander's large caterpillar eyebrows furrowed in mild distaste as the girl wondered aloud if he was aware of the size of his own eyes. "So I've been told," he responded sharply, the green eyes in question blinking in agitation behind the frames. As she suggested a spell that might provide him clear eyesight without the thick glasses, his jaw clenched in slight offense. He was irritated. "Ah, yes, the occasional migraine so I might see your overly chipper welcome in the 20/20 diamond clarity I so desire," he spoke sarcastically, revealing his surprisingly deep voice with its even tone and cadence. He had yet to speak this much, and when he did the sentences arrived evenly and quickly, on the brink of being too fast to fully hear. He answered himself: "Pass." He clearly didn't realize how rude this sounded, he just retorted as he thought. He towered slightly over her, always tall for his age, and looked at her truly. For the first time he scanned her face curiously, wondering who this girl actually was -- what gave her all of this energy and the gall to get so close to him before he learned her identity? She was obviously pretty, yet clearly lacked the common courtesy of observing personal space. Guess which one mattered more to Lysander?

"Do you have a name?"

Didn't matter that he'd taken the step back, Alexa was still at a good enough angle to see him and his large glasses and large eyes and large eyebrows and small tolerance level. It was all rather amusing, more amusing than most everyone else she'd had a run in so far and she couldn't say she was complaining....even if he now might be internally.

AND HE'D BEEN TOLD ABOUT THEM HUGE THINGS HE SPORTED AROUND. "Well that's a relief, not that I mind being the first to say because someone has to be first but I'd hate to think you came today unaware." Again, she persisted to lean closer, resting his wand down and beckoning him closer. "Some people aren't all that great. They'll never say a thing when you can hear 'em but the moment you're gone they suddenly grow a tongue and polished case of opinions."

The sarcasm in his tone was overlooked. It was a minor detail and she was MAKING FRIENDS! So the guy might have looked a little miffed and his voice might have sounded somewhat strained but that was probably him with his internal struggle of having to accept himself now that she'd told him. "Oh it's not only so you can see ME. Dont'cha wanna be able to see other things and people too? Reckon you'd be a hoot with the ladies if you spiffied up a bit. Here, let's have a see." And without permission she fished his glasses right off his face.

A name? OH! Right. She had one of those. "You can call me Lex." She said as she busied herself examining first his face then his lenses. Haha, really what was wand weighing even?

She wanted to let him down kindly. "Oh no thank you.." she told him. "I am just here to get my wand checked out." she motioned her head towards the desk.

Turning to the woman who he had impulsively waved over Logan said "Oh all right, fine." Slightly disappointing but it showed that the woman was sensible and cautious which in these times were valuable traits according to his mother. Nodding he added. "I’m supposed to get my wand checked out too today. I'm a new employee in Accidents and Catastrophes." Gesturing to the machine he asked "Have you got your wand weighed by that machine before? Is it safe?"

"Excuse me...may I see one of those?" he asked, hand already ready to take it off the man. Cue suspicious law man checking to make sure something wasn't off.

"Here, knock yourself out," he said, tossing the medallion he had just been offered to Simon was a lazy heave over his shoulder.

In Logan’s eyes the brunette in the colourful dress was after hearing and seeing her reaction to his medallions clearly the last person he should have approached with his precious medallions but he couldn’t exactly do anything about that now. She seemed to be the impersonation of the wicked witch of the west in the bed time stories his mother had read to him when he was younger and that never boded well. The woman was rude and cold but hopefully not evil. It was wise to tread cautiously regardless.

Deciding to answer the rude woman and the man by her side Logan spoke in his own defence eyes glancing from one to the other. "I created these medallions with the help of a skilled charms developer during my previous employment as junior obliviator for the French Ministry of Magic. All the medallions have been tested by charms experts at the French ministry and have been found to be completely safe, regulated and free of curses."

Eyes resting on the brunette he added fighting to keep his calm. "I would never ever bring anything evil to my new work place. And to suggest that I would try to infiltrate this ministry is absurd. I’m here to start my new job as Obliviator on level 3 which my big sister Hazel can attest as well as Margret." In his head he added. If I had wanted to infiltrate a place like this I certainly wouldn’t have done it by raising attention to myself.

"These medallions are just charmed to give better protection for example if you run into a shady character when you head home and struggle to find your wand. With just one word you could get the medallion to make it seem like you are surrounded by a pack of howling wolves, which in a tight spot can be pretty handy. But honestly the medallions are harmless and just for a bit of fun. There is nothing evil or sinister about them."

She looked at Mammy slightly, wondering if she should be making a better impression… Who was this man?
Smile. [/color]

'Course she wanted one, but not in front of her boss and especially not when it was attracting unwanted attention. As Leza let go of her hand, she took the short moment to nonchalantly move to Logan's side.
Ahem, "You have more of those, right?"

A shudder ran down her spine from hearing her full name. Oh god. "Please, Boss, just...just Mary is fine, please," she glanced towards the woman next to her with a glare in her eyes. Don't even.

At least the elder man seemed as skepical about the necklace's power. Defense in the Ministry wasn't needed...by jewelry and he was in no way a fan of items like it.
"I daresy there are better ways to defend yourself," he remarked, handing it back.

Before Logan could say anything else his big sisters sort of came to his defence in their own unique ways. Hazel even took the liberty of introducing him to everyone. He wasn’t sure if that aided or made everything worse for him. Extracting two more medallions he handed one to Hazel and the other to Mammy.

As he gave Mammy hers, he leaned in to whisper quietly. "You got one with a skull motif that you like. Just don’t show it around." If she did it was highly possible with these people who took this way more serious than it was and turn it into something really bad.

Accepting the medallion back from the man who had joined in to inspect the necklace Logan commented to him. "That is true. I however only wanted to combine something pretty with something useful." Taking a step toward Hazel and Mammy he said to the group surrounding him in general. "I'm sorry if I caused any offence. I had just created something nice to look at that I had charmed to be useful and that I wanted to show off and giveaway. I really meant no harm and the medallions are truly harmless themselves. I just wanted to do something fun on my first day." Logan was wise enough to know when it was high time to apologize to people and instead of burying his head in the sand.

Lysander remained reluctantly patient as this overly energized young woman warned him against companions that might not inform him of the reality of his eye sight and speak behind his back. He did not care about this advice and he did not care to be here any longer than necessary for his wand to be weighed. He eyed his wand in her hands warily, a distinct frown now added to his clenched jaw. What a nightmare of a girl this person was!

And THEN she had to nerve to suggest he would have better luck with women without his glasses! He was just about to tell her off entirely, grab his wand and proceed to his appropriate floor without this idiotic requirement when she grabbed. his. glasses. Before he could blink, she had taken his glasses from atop his nose and began to inspect them for herself, though of course he COULDN'T SEE THIS NOW. Lysander's now exposed eyes widened in horror at this act of supreme cruelty and barely registered her words as she introduced herself as Lex. The whole world suddenly became a more threatening mass of vague shapes and colors, he could hardly recognize his own two hands as he steadied himself by laying them flat on the counter which separated them. He never took his glasses off in public, not ever, rarely a once in his entire adult life. Mostly because he, you know, needed them!

Oh, now he was annoyed.

"Listen, Lex," he started, his voice dripping with a surprising darkness. "I don't know how this works for you normally, perhaps the majority of idiots that approach this counter enjoy being bullied out of their personal belongings. But I am not among them." His deep voice was indeed threatening, and yet there was clear panic in his facial expression. He was practically blind without his glasses, and yet of course wouldn't admit that. But it was relatively obvious in the way his exposed eyes didn't quite settle on her face but rather rested just past her left shoulder, assuming he was looking in the correct direction. Indeed, the girl was right about him -- once revealed, his green eyes were a relatively pretty sight, the darkest green with just the tiniest flecks of gold. And though still large and round, they weren't nearly as alarming or bug-like as they were behind the frames. His exposed porcelain face, though technically nice to look at, was clenched in an expression of deep distaste, his large eyebrows furrowed.

"Give. Them. Back. Now."

Especially since the other one was actually here.

Olly worked here now too? Huh. Interesting.

"Yeah, I can confirm that's Olly," she offered. They'd never been close or anything, but Penelope could at least recognize her. And the wand weigher machine thing would further confirm it too once she reached the desk.

So who was that guy?

Olly had finally spotted the guy who had said HER name instead of his own. WEIRDO! Also maybe dangerous? There was that possibility too. Not just confused but dangerous. Maybe he'd done it on purpose. There was a reason for all this wand weighing and stuff right now.

It was only when someone else said that they could confirm that SHE was in fact Olly Clarke, that she looked to the employees doing the security checks. OOoh. HELLO! At this she eventually sidestepped the weird guy (Peri) and moved up to stand in front of Lex. "Hey." And Penelope too, wow. "Hi." She was surrounded. Sort of. That was good though, yeah? It meant she actually knew people working here too. Not that she was particularly close with either of them – maybe Lex more than Penelope – but it was something.

They definitely had got on at school so.

Handing over her wand, Olly glanced at the guy again. "Call St. Mungo's maybe." It wasn't like SHE'd been asked for her opinion but she felt the need to offer it anyway. Weirdoooooooo.

Which she seemed ready to do as she moved behind the table and handled the paperwork ready to begin.

One thing off his shoulders.
She still felt as if she was late. Either that or superfluent, seeing as it was obvious that a few of the orientation packets had already vanished before her arrival and even as she’d been idly shifting them around, Alexa had levitated another to hand to one of the new Ministry employees getting their security checks done. At this rate, she could have disappeared from the table and not been missed, had one of the other MLE members chosen to acknowledge her presence. As more wands had gotten scanned, she’d given him a nod. Simon, she thought. Working the front desk on Level One had its advantages after all. She saw when MLE made their rounds, and he had certainly seemed to make more than some. “We do,” she agreed. “That doesn’t change my feelings about actually being late, however.” Not when it might make things known long before she wanted them to be.

To think, two years ago he met her at an orientation and now they were living together and..well had other things going on as well that they hadn't told anyone about yet.

While he waited he made a mental checklist of things he was supposed to do before he came here which was the reason he hadn't come with her in the first place. Well..that and only a handful of people knew they were together. As he approached he held his wand out hoping one of the security people would take it and smirked at Amethyst. "Ms. McCrae...a pleasure to see you as always." He couldn't help but give her a grin.
Which, seemed even more possible as the next person who had appeared at the table was the one she’d seen that very morning as she’d tried to figure out what to wear. She raised an eyebrow slightly at Gregory as he’d spoken, merely because the formality seemed as if it had been meant to disguise things yet seemed like it was much too obvious not to make people suspicious. She was at a table staffed nearly entirely by MLE after all. They were apt to suspect things, had they been paying attention. Alexa certainly seemed otherwise occupied, but there were others.

“Of course,” she replied after a moment. She could always hope no one read too much into what seemed glaringly obvious to her, that they knew each other. She didn’t mind if people knew they were dating, really, but making it seem as if it was illicit made her uncomfortable. Her identity wasn’t exactly a mystery anyhow, since practically all Ministry-wide memos went through her. If anything, her name ought to be a known fact, whether or not he was the first to call her as such. It was how he’d said it, not to mention the smirk and then the grin. He had to know he was treading a dangerous line with that.

SPOILER!!: Someone’s reputation might be ruined by all this smiling…

She commented, being quite the observer as she sometimes was.

Painful? What was painful? It took Adam a moment to realize she had been talking about his attempted smile. Then the woman went on to politely correct his English, which he appreciated. “Sorry,” he apologized. “English is not my language.” He felt the need to explain despite his heavy German accent. He watched the woman put his wand into the machine as he shifted his weight. The line seemed to be getting longer to at the very least, people were starting to crowd around him more. Adam was not fond of large crowds and not being in possession of his wand made his anxieties worse.

Adam tried to focus on what the female was saying instead of the clusters of people around him. Did she mention fighting crime? “Are you polizei?” he asked thinking of an acquaintance named Jory he had recently met in Diagon Alley. “I have a friend who is – Oarer here.” He blinked quite certain he was still pronouncing that word wrong.

She must have noticed his twitchiness and was mistaking it for fear that someone might jump him or rob him or some other oddity. Adam was used to people thinking him odd. He was about to explain that he was uneasy with the newness of the place and the crowds when the woman began answering his question about wand weighting for him. “Oh,” he responded as he didn’t really know what to say in response to her explanation. She must be bored, Adam thought, since she was going into great detail about the Security check point. Not that he minded; he enjoyed learning.

Good times.

"Hey! I didn't know you'd be coming to the Ministry. What department?" Last she'd seem him he was preparing for exams and now here he was. Shame Simon got to him first but it was all the same, her plate was rather full at the moment, as proven by the person whose wand she was currently weighing.

When would this end?

The MLEr letting the clerk handle his id and welcome packet. Oh look...Lex knew the man and she made a point of acknowledging it. And that's when it hit him.

About the same time as the young woman asked the newcomer which department he was in.

"Are you the new YATI?" There had been one in the round of checks on new hires but it wasn't like it was easy keeping all the new names in check.

So whilst Luc was letting his wand be weighed and all that official securitiness, Lex did indeed recognise him! It was too bad he didn't bring any chocolate frogs with him today, so it looks like he'll be making up for that next time. "Oh yeah, Department of Magical Law Enforcement. That's why I've been studying so hard back then and doing all those extra work outs and-" Before he could ramble on the question then came.

The New YATI? He nodded, "That's right." Giving a little salute as his heels clicked together at attention stance, "New YATI Auror Trainee, reporting for duty." Okay, so he may have wanted to do that for a while and there was the possibility on that not being meant to be done here. But oh well, it was now out of his system as he went back to his relaxed stature earlier. "Is there anything else you need, sir?" For extra proof or what not.

Lynley heard the....young woman's words and simply let her cold gaze steel over this girl's face...and figure, in general. She was part of security? How....interesting and accepting of the Ministry. But she did give off the aura of..spunk and confidence. So maybe Lynley SHOULD trust this child with her safety. Spunk and confidence was a lot more than many of the people here seemed to show.

Hmph.

"Chopped flobberworms can be quite useful in some potions." She said dryly in response. "Lynley Purcell, new Transportation head." She said as she....briefly introduced herself to the girl. It was good to get her name out there...she didn't expect anyone to ooh and aaaah over her job title...but it WAS her job title, so there.

Regardless, Lynley wasn't going to pass judgment on this one just yet. Plus, this other person...this...medallion toting person...needed Lynley's attention, clearly.

SPOILER!!: Poor Logan

What was the French Ministry UP to, anyways? Lynley disproved. Very much so. She side eyed quite a bit..."Oh. YOU developed them? How...interesting. I'm interested in charms myself..." which was the truth. She squinted at a medallion. "I suppose I could entertain the idea of taking one..." Just to be nice. That would nice of her. See, Lynley could have nice thoughts.

Oh, but here he went. Off on a......rant about being noble, blah blah, etc etc. Lynley had to suppress an eye roll. Sigh. "Thank you for the life story." She said......she tried to keep the sarcasm from her tone. Tried. "I'd like one, I guess. Are you just handing them out for free?" Hmm? Because Lynley didn't want to pay for one, but if it was for sale..she'd buy it.

Was she trying too hard to seem...accepting of these new people at her new job? Maybe. She was definitely withholding a lot of sass right now. And she had yet to find one person she wouldn't hate to have lunch with...

Alas.

Was she doomed to dine alone at her new job?

”You aren’t getting rid of me.” Y’know, ever. Small smile to the woman and a quick squeeze of her hand.

SPOILER!!: (This is after Logan has spoken to Lynley <3) Mammy and Logan

SPOILER!!: Aron, Simon - Rearranged so they work together

Smile.

SPOILER!!: Luc and Lex

Lucio Serge Auditore

That name rang a bell but Simon didn't connect it right away. "Thank you, Mr. Auditore," he said as he accepted the offered wand, setting it into the machine once it was free for the next customer. The MLEr letting the clerk handle his id and welcome packet. Oh look...Lex knew the man and she made a point of acknowledging it. "I’m supposed to get my wand checked out too today. I'm a new employee in Accidents and Catastrophes." Gesturing to the machine he asked "Have you got your wand weighed by that machine before? Is it safe?"

SPOILER!!: Simon, Aron, Lynley

In Logan’s eyes the brunette in the colourful dress was after hearing and seeing her reaction to his medallions clearly the last person he should have approached with his precious medallions but he couldn’t exactly do anything about that now. But honestly the medallions are harmless and just for a bit of fun. There is nothing evil or sinister about them."

SPOILER!!: Big sisters and Simon

Aron couldn't agree with Simon more, especially after hearing the description that new Obliviator gave about it. Holy holly what DID go on in the French Ministry? That was where Roxanne had transferred to, yeah?

Go figure.

Mary. Margaret. Sure. Whatever she wanted. He was still dumbfounded by this whole medallion business and just barely managed to nod his head in acknowledgement of her correction.

"You can keep it," he informed Simon as he took a step away from the man. He literally had no use the glorified daydream charm. Maybe Simon could use it as a paperweight or something. Scare people away from his desk by activating that Daydream Charm.

And the Australian didn't do...pretty.

Attention briefly on another woman who had spoken to him, Hazel . "Welcome back," he greeted. "You ought to tell your brother to stop letting Mammy practice her skills on his brain." Just some pseudo-friendly unsolicited advice for you all.

And it seemed the drama continued. This was most definitely his cue to officially leave. A sass-off between a YATI, looking to prove herself, and a new department head, also looking to prove herself, was not the place he wanted to be.

Cambridge as a babysitter? Seren had often spoken fondly of her, so perhaps that could be a real possibility. "I'll keep that in mind," he winked before taking his leave and finally heading towards orientation proper.

Food. That needed to happen. Food and drink.

Newbie employee coming through. He just had to make sure he was going the right way. Archer looked around, he even paused for a moment. He was going the correct way. Good. It was a good thing that he had shown up earlier than what he should have been. He had a gut feeling that at some point in this new year and week that he would get lost in the Ministry. This was the first that in his memory that he was even here at all.

The man slowed down his walking when he had finally gotten to where he needed to be. He wondered if this was how all of the orientations had gone in the years past. Then again he had a friend that used to work at the ministry and he was always rambling on about some kind of party that they would put on for new and returning employee's. Well this year much be Archer lucky year because this was no party.

Archer just stood there, probably in the wrong spot waiting around for his turn.
