Election EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Ministers for Magic, Sherman Clark [IC January 2086 - December 2089; OOC February 2015 - June 2016] & Althea Scabior [IC January 2090 - December 2093; OOC February 2016 - June 2017]
Lynley was observing everyone, before approaching. She was careful with whom she wasted her time on. Lots of young people worked at the ministry, didn't they? She'd have to ask her mother about this. She had already taken a glance at her department files...sure, there were SOME young people...but really, it was all she saw right now.
Merlin.
Lynley wondered if she was required to babysit at this job, too. Perhaps.
However, she wouldn't grumble right now. She was supposed to be...welcoming and inviting and whatnot, right? The former Slytherin wondered if she was all set to go in yet or not. Anymore security protocols? She certainly didn't want to bypass anything, or do anything wrong, on her first day at a Ministry hosted event.
....Was there a young man talking with himself? Lynley usually held her private conversations inside her head. Merlin, the boy seemed excited, too. Was it his first job? She shot him a glance, a not.....unfriendly one, so there was that. Lynsey was never that great at smiling.
Peri caught someone glance at him. He gave the lady a weak smile and quickly looked away. "Act cool. Act normal," he thought to himself.
SPOILER!!: Alexa, Olly, Penelope

Olly Clarke. Right, Lex straightened, about to nod in acknowledgement of the name when she heard him call another name, this one more feminine.
The former Gryffindor went right back to leaning against the desk, fixing him with a curious look. "Well which one is it? Are you Olly Clarke or Emmalee Quinn?" He couldn't be both....the machine probably didn't register more than one per wand. "S'none of my business but you don't look like an Emmalee Quinn." No hard feelings, it was simply the truth.

"That's MY name." Like excuse you. Olly spoke from a little further down the line but she'd heard that guy say her name. And there was literally no way he had the same name as she did. Okay there WAS but seriously, how unlikely was that? She tried to glance around the person in front of her to get a better look at whoever had just tried to register with HER name instead of his own.
He was probably insane or something. Security threat anyone?

Especially since the other one was actually here.
Olly worked here now too? Huh. Interesting.
"Yeah, I can confirm that's Olly," she offered. They'd never been close or anything, but Penelope could at least recognize her. And the wand weigher machine thing would further confirm it too once she reached the desk.
So who was that guy?
And in addition to that...who was that other guy over there holding up a medallion of sorts? Selling things? Here? Now? Was this part of those exercises and what-not over there, or something else?
Very suspicious. She'd be keeping an eye on him.
"Eh?" Peri looked up at the woman at the desk. He hadn't realized it was already his turn. "Olly? No? I was just... I mean. I'm not Emmalee either. Of course not." Peri laughed nervously. Then jumped when he heard another two women mention Olly again.
He turned towards the voices and though unsure of who he was talking to - and suddenly afraid that a bunch of security personnel would take him away - said in defense, "Of course, that's your name. You're Olly. I'm not Olly. I'm new. I mean, that's not my name...It's Emmalee. No! It's not! That's someone else. A girl. Lady. Witch. I'm not a witch. But I'm not a Muggle!"
Peri paused, realizing he was rambling nervously to a bunch of strangers. "Right..." He turned back to the lady at the desk. "I'm sorry...what was I saying? Nevermind. Let me start over," he paused, getting more embarrassed by the second, especially as he held up a growing line. "My name is Peridot Wulfweardsweorth. I'm a man. A wizard. Obviously. And I am new here and not crazy and...totally making a fool of myself. Thanks." Peri gave his wand over then pushed his hair back, keeping his hand on his head. He shook his head and smiled to himself. What a great first impression he's given. Ha.
