Fulton sipped his coffee and greeted everyone as they arrived.. It was good to see everyone ready to start the day... It wasn't often that they had meetings .. At least not since he had started working at the ministry... But then again he had only just started a few months ago..
He saw the Minister walk in and sit next to Mariel... this must be an importatnt meeting then.. He straightened his tie and sat up just a bit straighter in his chair.. He didn't want to be looking like a slouch .. Especially not now....
He decided it best to take out his notes that he'd been making while going through his research ...It was what he prided himself on.. His due diligence and willingness to please..

"Good morning!" Adam offered a wave as he swung through the door to the Common Room, almost pulling up short when he saw that the Minister was in the room. Was he still a child if his first thought was 'oops who's in trouble'? Probably, but with ten children of his own he would just pretend that he was still in play time mindset.
Gosh, why was Jorgie so active at stupid-o'clock in the morning?
He offered nods around as he took his usual play opposite Victoria, pulling out his notebook and quill from the inside breast pocket of his suit jacket. "Minister," he added as Adam turned his nod to the really bloody important lady, flashing a quick smile. He'd ask about everyone's weekends after the meeting was over.

Mariel took a bite of her danish and a sip of her coffee, looking up from her notes as her employees began to arrive. "Hello, Fulton," she greeted one of her newest employees with a smile and nod. "It's alright to call me Mariel. We don't need to be quite so formal." She was certain she had told him that before. And, while she did appreciate good manners, it was okay for her employees to be on a more familiar basis with her.
"Oh, is it? I guess I wouldn't know, but it is that time of year." She hadn't yet been outside today, having flooed directly here from her house, but mid-February in their part of the world usually proved to be rather cold. She turned her eyes next to Victoria, giving her a nod in greeting as she took a seat nearby. "Oh, the family's doing well as always." Nothing really new to report there since the last time she talked to her. "How's the baby?" She thought it great that Bart moved back to the country so that Vic could be close to her grandson. She had a long time to think about such a thing for herself, but she hoped her own children stayed close as they grew up.
Looking up from her paperwork and from the few she was engaging in small talk, Mariel noted the others as they came in as well. She gave them all pleasant hellos and good mornings, never much of a fan of lengthy personal conversation when there was a meeting to begin. And there was the Minister. "Minister Scabior.." She returned the nod and smile. "Welcome to Magical Games and Sports. Thank you for coming today." She knew her employees would be just as welcoming as they were such a great team. "Would you like to begin? I'm certain you have a tight schedule to keep," she added with a smile. It was about time for their meeting to start anyway, and she could let the Minister speak first before they tended to the rest of their business.

"Thank you, Mariel, I do indeed." Althea nodded at the younger woman and then looked around the gathered employees.
"I won't keep you all long, I just wanted to greet you all personally. For those of you who don't know, I am Althea Scabior, your new Minister for Magic. I want you all to know that employees of the ministry are able to schedule an appointment with me any time. I'm not encouraging you all to simply drop by for a casual chat unannounced, rather if you have any legitimate concerns or questions you are able to speak to me directly, or put it in writing if you prefer. Understand that this does not mean anyone should try to go over your department head for level-related issues," She'd not appreciate that at all, it would be inefficient and she was not one for micromanaging, "but as citizens of the British Wizarding World any concerns you have will be heard." Obviously she couldn't please everyone, but she intended to be active in her position as leader of the British Wizarding World.
"There will be many changes introduced in the coming months, and while the more immediate initiatives which we will begin implementing do not necessarily involve your department directly, I encourage all of you to come along to any open meetings and lend your voice. Please keep an eye out for memos from my office if you wish to remain informed." And she expected they all would, wouldn't they? "If there are no questions, I'll be on my way."

Lucas figured there would be something important to say from the Minister. He liked her already even though he didn't really know her. The reason he liked Althea was because she was already meeting with the Ministry's employees. He appreciated her doing that. Though she seemed to have their best interests at heart, he wouldn't be going all in to say that she would keep the same attitude for the rest of the time she occupied the Minster's position. But she had made the right start.
Questions? No, Lucas had none. He just wanted to get to work. He gave the Minister a friendly nod then directed his attention to Mariel. What's up, boss? | |

She acknowledged Fulton and Mariel has they spoke to her, but soon enough the meeting was starting and everyone was there and ready. Adam of course got a smile. Her eyes fell on him a bit longer, the close family friend always looked tired, but she couldn't imagine having as many children as he had. The rest of the team got smiles as well. She pulled her coffee to her and gave it a sip.
The minister got her full attention as she spoke. Well she wasn't going to wait around to change now was she. This was not a bad thing in Victoria's eyes but she wouldn't truly make an opinion until she saw some actual things happen. She didn't have any questions so she just wrote down a few thins while she was thinking about it.
Maybe she'd have herself another pastry while the rest of the team asked any questions if they needed.

Mariel certainly hoped her own employees would go to her and not over her head if there was an issue, but she did appreciate the mention. And she did wonder about changes, knowing the kinds of changes her husband had planned to implement. But that would remain to be seen. She had followed the election rather closely and had been aware of the platforms many of the candidates had. She would admit that the new Minister did have some well thought out ideas and did hope that they were executed well also.
Looking around the room, she gave her employees a few moments in case they did want to ask anything. Perhaps she should have said something ahead of time about the Minister's appearance so that they would have had time to come up with a question or two. But she supposed if they had anything pressing to talk to her about later, they could make an appointment to speak with her.
After a few moments of silence, she turned back to Althea and gave her a smile. "It appears that there are no questions from Games and Sports today, but thank you for taking the time to stop by and say a few words." She did appreciate and saw it as a good sign for a community-conscious and involved Minister. She had plans for an individual meeting herself to discuss department-specific issues. But if there was nothing more for now, she needed to get on with her meeting. Not that she couldn't continue, but she wasn't going to be rude either, knowing she had to be on her way.
