| Who Am I? Ern's 2460FUN AHHHHHHH.
Caught. He was very much caught by the people gathered in the room in a cult-like fashion. If he tried to run now would they chase him? He hoped not.
One voice, in particular, caught his attention- his boss. His mother always told him when she forced him out the door every morning for work that respect for your boss is as important as breathing. He disagreed. A nice thought for normal people. But his number one goal throughout the day was to just get through it breathing.
Niceties fell into a hard second.
With some INTENSE eye bulging he finally found enough energy that came from panicking to rush into the room. At a snail's pace. He was moving. He'd not answer questions.
Nope.
Meeeeeep. This was hard enough. |

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... As she finished and heard Alex speak again a grin crossed her lips. "I've only worked in the Games and Sports department since joining the ministry, but I feel that it show's dedication to one's job. I will not be someone who will slack or resign too soon in the position of minister. Plus in the six years I have been here I started out at an entry level position and worked my way to manager. I feel my accomplishments in this department are proof that I will reach a goal if I put my mind to it and that I can be a leader." She felt very qualified to become minister, even if she had only worked there for six and a half years.
Looking back to Alex again she nodded, "I absolutely agree with you Alex and even before I thought about being minister I have gone to the other departments to see what they did. I have friends in all the departments so I have an understanding of what's going on and what some of the needs are. I have always and will as minister go around and be visible in all departments and hear the employees as well as the department heads. We have a great group of department heads here at the ministry and if we can keep working on the success that they bring and make a stronger communication and get more collaboration among the departments I feel we can have a great success for our ministry as well as our community." She had already began plans to meet with the department heads and really get to know each department during the campaign.
Seeing Ferris finally sit down Victoria gave him an encouraging smile then looked to the rest of the group. "Does anyone else have any questions for me before we all head back to our divisions and get back to working for the afternoon?" She didn't want to keep them too much longer knowing they had their own things to do.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jordan Kobe Fifth Year | I Can Accept Failure. But I Can't Accept Not Trying
After hearing what the Quidditch Division Manager had in mind, he felt certain that this would be a great candidate for the Minister of Magic. All she needed was to gain support and really get her name out there. How awesome would it be to have a Minister of Magic that started at the bottom at the same department that you are currently working for? That would be splendid not only for the department, but for the rest of the Ministry and the Wizarding World.
Alex tried to think of some other questions to ask but he had felt that he already asked too much seeing that he was new to everything. A couple of questions was probably good for him. "That's all from me. I think you make a very good leader, and your Department of Magical Sports & Games should help you in the elections!" Alex assumed that they would elect the Minister like the Muggles elect their head person in charge.

| Late-ish reply? Not sure if we're done? Mr. Unicorn: Kim's daughter: Jenn's sister : MILKSHAKES: Lita Daley: The Sun: Its so Fluffy! There was something that Saxon caught that she hadn't really bothered thinking much about, at least, until Victoria brought it back to her full attention.
"If you can do this, even if its during your campaigning, I think you'll gain more support from other people. I, as far as I can remember, have never visited other departments, or don't know any of the employees or heads. You say you want to improve the communication between all the departments. How would you go about that? Clearly, a ministry needs to have a strong connection with everyone in the building in order to connect to the public and have them believe in our hard work." That was Saxon's first train of thought.
"And, two, I think actually bringing up the topic of communication within the ministry, can get people thinking about it. How we sorta need to fix this problem, and that you may be a good choice for this to possibly happen. Something to think about even more, perhaps?"
Seems like they had gotten some opinions from Victoria herself, and were as well, able to provide her with their own feedback and thoughts. Hopefully keeping this in mind in the future could help her out greatly.

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent As Victoria addressed Ferris, Mariel turned her eyes on him a moment and watched him creep into the room. Something of an odd man she thought, but perhaps that was the nature of the inventor. She then turned her attention back to Vic as she spoke once more to the collective, smiling lightly as her friend touched on her own qualities that would best serve the Ministry should she take on the role as Minister. She knew more than anyone what a hardworker Victoria was, very driven and passionate about her job In fact, Mariel knew much of the woman's stance on the issues as well as her strengths, so she sat back a moment to allow others to ask their questions and offer their thoughts.
In fact, it sounded like Alex was fairly won over by Victoria's words and Mariel hoped that she had gained another supporter. She turned green eyes to Saxon next, nodding lightly as she heard her points. She had some good questions and Mariel knew Victoria had some good answers. "And if I might just add.." Before they departed from the meeting of course. "You have many great ideas for the Ministry, but what specific plans do you have for working in and with the community?" Because even though Ministry employees were the one most likely to vote, there were others that didn't work in the Ministry to think about as well. And Mariel knew about some of her thoughts, but she thought it would be a good idea to mention them here for the others too.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Happy to see she might have gained a supporter in Alex, Victoria nodded towards him before looking to see if anyone else had anything to ask or add to the conversation.
Hearing Saxon she grinned, "I have always been a bit of a social person as well as curious, so my want to meet people and my curiosity to see what goes on in other departments have helped with this. " Far from the shy child she use to be that was for sure. "Well I already think our department has some of those answers. I know you and I have spoke about a gobstones league. This alone can build relationships between departments. I would also like to do other gatherings to build relationships. Making a ministry minute, which would be a minsitry newsletter that would come out once a month telling everything that is going on in all departments is just another small idea I have to build awareness in the ministry." These were just a few ideas she had, she had plenty more.
Hearing her boss she turned her eyes on Mariel, that was also a great question. "I feel a great minister is someone who is in the public eye, not just around for events and then hidden the rest of time. I'm already very active in our community and with three children can be seen throughout Diagon Alley. I feel this is a positive, because I can see what the public needs and I can hear their concern. I'd like to have a Alley meeting which could be weekly or monthly so that the community could come and discuss topics so that they are heard." This was just the start of things for the community, "I want to bring events that will help the shops economically. Using our departments we could have community events, our department with the quidditch camp could help boost Quidditch Supplies sales, Mysterious could work with Slugs and Jitters to have a potion off. These are great ways to help shops stay afloat and bring in business as well as bring our community out for some fun, as well as build a stronger bond between the wizarding community and the ministry."

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Mariel couldn't say that she was exactly looking forward to this manager's meeting as she was sure many of them wouldn't be happy with the proposed changes they had for them, but they'd have to get over it. Some of the repeat violations offenders seemed to be getting worse and worse, and apparently nothing would change unless it was addressed. Hopefully they could at least be understanding and civil, but if they weren't, she would deal with it.
Walking into the conference room, she saw that she was the first to arrive and took a seat at her usual place at the table. Opening up her folder, she began looking through the files as she waited for the rest to arrive.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Victoria had ordered refreshments for today's meeting and hoped they were there when she walked in. Looking around it seemed the coffee, tea, and some snaks were there. Good.. good, things looked in order. Moving around to each seat and placing a folder with what they were fully going over she looked up finally noticing Mariel sitting in her usual seat. "Good afternoon." Where was her brain that she didn't notice her boss/best friend already in the room.
Finally placing the last folder at the last chair she made her way to her usual seat and pulled out her own parchments. Trying to make sure things were in order. "So want to take bets on which managers will show and which will cause the most problems?" She chuckled, but knew it was true. "Though I wouldn't be surprised is some owners came in as well. We have some very dedicated ones that want to be in the know. It's very nice." She knew some could care less and just had to money to own a team, didn't really care for the sport, but liked the franchise opportunity. Ridiculous really.

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee Brennan Cooper didn't appreciate not having someone meet him in the Atrium to escort him, and he didn't appreciate the fact they were meeting here. He'd tried to send him team manager to this meeting, since the team owner of the Wasps really didn't care to rub elbows with people who wore jackets that weren't bespoke, but his manager was busy.
How dare anyone have an ill mother when it was inconvenient for him! He was getting a new manager, that much was clear.
The De La Garza woman was waiting there in the meager conference room when he arrived, and Cooper gave a terse nod to the other woman in the room. Administrative support, obviously. "I'll have a coffee. Black. Piping hot, obviously, or you'll have to run down for some fresh."

Mariel looked up from her paperwork as she heard another enter the room. She watched for a moment with a faint but amused smile on her face as Victoria seemed to not notice her presence. "Hello," she chuckled as she finally noticed her. "Everything ready to go?" It all appeared to be, at least to her.
She turned her attention onto her friend as she spoke, giving a small smile at her chuckle. "Oh the usual suspects, I'm sure." There were certain ones who just had that reputation. "I would certainly hope they'd all show up though." Even if it was something that some f them wouldn't like to hear, it was in the best interest of their teams. "Or at the very least send a representative." Mariel nodded in thought as she glanced down at her paperwork again. There might be one or two owners that had a vested enough interest in that kind of thing, but for the most part she would be surprised to see owners. Quote:

"I'll have a coffee. Black. Piping hot, obviously, or you'll have to run down for some fresh." And speaking of owners, Mariel looked up as she heard another person walk in. Thinking it would be someone from the Department or one of the team managers, she was rather surprised to see Brennan Cooper. "Mr. Cooper," she greeted him with a nod. "It's nice to see you. Thank you for coming today."
Er.. was he asking Victoria to get him a cup of coffee? Or not so much asking but demanding? Green eyes glanced at the refreshments that her Quidditch Division Manager had set out. "Oh, of course it's hot.. and fresh," she nodded before glancing down at her paperwork again. "Level Seven has the best coffee in the Ministry." And no, she didn't mind diverting some of her budget for that small luxury. Now that Quidditch season was starting up again, Kieran Kavanaugh had enough to do without adding this meeting to it. He was immensely busy with the management of his team, but he knew he needed to make time to hear about rules and regulations that could potentially affect his team. He just wouldn't be happy to hear that the Kestrals were at fault when he knew he was a great manager.
Once he had gotten to Level Seven, he quickly asked for directions to the conference room from the pretty young lady near the coffee cart. He had thought for a moment about getting a cup but thought he was already running late. They always had refreshments at these types of things, right?
And that they did. Coffee and snacks was the first thing that his grey eyes landed on when he walked in. And maybe he wasn't running late after all as he noticed just a handful of people present. "Afternoon, ladies," he spared them a grin as he helped himself to a cup of coffee. "Mr. Cooper." He gave the former Minister a respectable nod, slightly surprised to see the owner of the Wasps present as well.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Felix Lupin First Year | Benji was worried he would be super late. But maybe he was on time? He couldn't remember.. He looked exhausted because he was. This parent thing was tough. He ADORED Olivia like nothing else in the world, but boy could that little girl scream. And so often.. He felt a little bad for leaving Carrie alone but he felt this meeting was something he should attend, Not just as an employee but as a future owner.
He walked in looking a bit frazzled, but tried to compose himself as he made his way to the familiar conference room table. "Hello, everyone.." He noted, Mariel and Victoria along with two Men he hadn't met but he was hoping they weren't rude cause he wasn't in a place to deal with rude people today. Too little sleep for that. Lucky he was still on leave due to the baby and was off besides this meeting.

| That's Rough Buddy | Be the Flower | Moon & Stars After leaving Cornelius at the daycare center, Xavier Baltazar made his way to the Quidditch meeting. There was no way he was going to miss something that involved his team. When something about Quidditch came up Xavier was there. As the owner of the Falcons he wasn't going to risk being in the dark by missing a mere conference. It didn't matter if the manager could attend, Xavier would be right there, involved on what his team could benefit...or fight for what it didn't. That hardly ever happened, fortunately. "Good day, good day!" he greeted all with a smile. Ah, he wasn't the only owner here seeing as Cooper made it. He sat at the other end of the table closer to the ladies, taking the folder that was placed there.
Coffee? Where? He'd like some, yes. "Some coffee would be lovely, actually." He had a long evening of practice the day before, that plus single parenting, it could wear a man out.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... She chuckled with Mariel as they spoke about who would and would not be here. "Well if they don't they will get notes on the meeting and they better deal with whatever is decided here." If they can't be here in person then she felt they had no room to complain.
Her brown eyes lifting as the door opened, she was surprised to see Mr. Cooper walk in. She hadn't seen him since the tryouts last summer. Was he demanding coffee from her like she was some assistant? She just sort of blinked at him a moment. "I assure you Mr. Cooper as Mariel said we have fantastic coffee. I've made sure to have enough coffee, tea, and snacks on the table." She pointed behind him, see there they are help yourself. "Good day Mr. Kavanaugh, welcome. We will begin shortly." Looking back to her notes once more she lifted her eyes to see her own employee coming in. Checking her watch it seemed they still had some time. "Afternoon Benji." He had been away with new baby things, but there would be time to ask about the family later, because right now her voice was missing seeing Mr. Baltazara walk into the room.
Finding it quickly she smiled, "Hello Mr. Baltazar, thank you for joining us. We have plenty of tea, coffee, and snacks on the table. Help yourself. She looked around and figured which ones were here and which weren't . "We'll start in just a few minutes, I'm just waiting on a few other teams." She had just enough time to take a few sips of her own coffee. Why was she here? She already knew this horrid department was out to get her team, but who wouldn't. A winning season always brought out the haters and the two that ran this division were the worst when it came to hating her. Her high heels tapped against the floor as she made her way to the door and opened it very casually.
Oh was she late? She could only hope at least, making an entrance was her specialty. "Mr. Cooper, Mr. Baltazar." She smiled brightly to the two owners and then looked around the room. " Kieran" Finding a seat closer to the rich owners she pulled a file towards her. "So have we started yet?" What had she missed except a lot of nothing.

| ❅ Purple Lightsaber ❅| | Captain Sarcastic | Cameron fully understood why he had to be here. But he still a had a team to manage and this meeting was cutting into precious practice time. Of course the team could handle a practice without him. But that wasn't the kind of manager he was.
It was ridiculous that the owner didn't even find this meeting important enough to attend as well. That left him to be the only one to come. It was fine he had plans for that. Cam had always put the team before everything except one thing, his daughter of course. That team should be his. It would be.
His niece worked in the department. So she met him at the front so they could walk up together.... "Good afternoon." He said after he walked into the room. Coffee think goodness.
Mercedes had not been feeling well lately. But it didn't stop her from working. She met her uncle Cam after she walked down after she finished what she needed to before the meeting. She checked on things. Although she was sure thay Victoria had checked at least twice. Maybe not but.
Mercedes walked in with Cam. She was surprised to see so many here now. It was good because there was lots of important things. She headed over toward her boss and coworkers. "Do you think more will show up?" She made sure that all managers were contracted. She even invited the owners as well some of them were here too. That was good. |

| Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right. Harvey had barely set foot into the Department since leaving it Years ago. He was proud to be where he was at now, but always felt like the Cannon's could improve. ALWAYS!. He peered around the room and eventually settled into the seat beside the ever so lovely as she was angry Rebecca Maroon. "Good day to you all." Ah was that, Bayless over there. He'd have to pull that guy aside at some point to speak with him about his Daughter. His Nephew had been sending home the Family Owl quiet a bit about his Daughter. He had taught Aegis to treat all ladies equally and yet some how this girl had directed all the attention to herself.
Again, that was for another time. Meanwhile this meeting seemed like the important type so Harvey trained his eyes forward.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Felix Lupin First Year | Benji looked over to Victoria. "Hey, Vic.." So tired... Coffee, yes he needed coffee so he grabbed that and walked back over to the conference table. This meeting hopefully wouldn't be too ridiculous. He looked over at Rebecca, the woman was crazy. Soon...hopefully soon he'd be her boss. The owner of the team She managed. Did she know? Cause he would be amused if she did. She had to have heard about it.
He took a seat though and waited for this meeting to start, looking around at the others in the room.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Seeing others come in including her PR, Victoria checked her watch and took another sip of coffee. She'd wait a few more moments for anyone else to come. As she waited she nodded at Cameron, and Harvey. Nice of them to join and always a pleasure. Sighing as Rebecca made her appearance. She really was hoping the no owl meant she was going to be a no show, but no such luck, so she grinned professionally. She had a bone to pick with her later about this coming Christmas and Bart, but that would be later. Looking down at her notes she looked up once more. "I think we could get started." If anyone came in after the fact they could catch up easily. "Welcome and thank you all for coming. As you all should know my team and I have been really looking at the fines, consequences, and rules for this coming season. We've had a number of players that have been repeat offenders for some time and it seems like our fines are not working for them anymore. Money doesn't seem to be an issue for some of the higher paid players, so we are going to start enforcing some new things. " She glanced around for any comments, sure at least one would have something to say. "As you can see in the agenda and the files I left out the top five offenders of last season are listed. These players were fined six or more times in one season. We are going to start with fines as usual this season, but the fine will be double from this past season. If a player does something a second time it will be a fine and a missed match, a third time will have a fine and three missed matches, a fourth offense will get the player fined and suspended for the rest of the season." Was that clear? They were not going to tolerate anymore of these players thinking they were better then the rest.

If a player does something a second time it will be a fine and a missed match, a third time will have a fine and three missed matches, a fourth offense will get the player fined and suspended for the rest of the season." Was that clear? They were not going to tolerate anymore of these players thinking they were better then the rest. Harvey leaned back in his chair, and snagged his cane in his hand. He swung forward and planted his cane between his legs. " You said your Team was looking at the Rules. Will there be new Offenses added to having a Player being fined?" As it seemed, Harvey looked at the List. Eleven Offenses from one of Rebecca's players. That was almost Double of the lowest player on the list as well. Probably had to improvise some fines to cover the rules he broke. "Also, Will we be required to go over this with our Players too? I Assume some more than others?" He spun his cane in his hand, and glanced around the room. "It will have more of an impact if they hear it from us, rather than getting a Letter from the League" That was Harvey's personal opinion anyways. He felt he had a great relationship with his Players, and built up a lot of trust in them.

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee It was annoying to Brennan that the assistant didn't bring him his coffee, and he would have pressed the issue. Luckily, he was distracted by the entrance of other owners and managers, and Brennan had to mentally sort out who was who. Kavanaugh, manager of the Kestrals. Baltazar, owner of the Falcons. Maroon, manager of the Catapults. Bayless, manager of the Tornadoes. Gunter, manager of the Cannons.
A good turn out.
Brennan leaned back in his seat and glowered at the coffee pot as De la Garza began the meeting. Honestly, it was good Gunter spoke up first, because Bren didn't want to get a reputation too early about being a stickler, but these sort of fines were ridiculous. Did they understand? Yes, they weren't children. Did they agree? That was another matter.
"Ridiculous over reaction. Fines are bad enough for a first offense, but you want to start penalizing our players by forcing them to miss games? You penalize the team, the fans, the sport. Wasp fans come to see Robertson play, and they like his style. He throws up an elbow in a dive, and now their tickets are useless? You'll put every one of us out of business. Maybe your fines don't mean anything because the teams are eating the cost and encouraging the behavior... we like it. I give out bonuses for it, because it makes the news and it brings in revenue."

Harvey eyed Brennan as he spoke. Not much really fazed him while the Wasps Owner berated the Games and Sports Team. something he could sympathizes for because he was once here, in their shoes. Before being offered a Job by the Cannons.
Like before nothing really bothered him much just a whiney man whining about the rule changes, until he admitted to giving bonuses to his players for committing these penalties. So he leaned forward and glared at the Wasp's Guy. "You do realize you just admitted to a Bounty Scheme?" Harvey's eyes did not blink. "I seriously hope you're Joking, Brennan." Paying Bonus' to your Players to Harm an opponent....NOT COOL!
The Cannon's Manager shot his eyes around the Conference Room now, mostly to Victoria, and Mariel surely this would not be tolerated!

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Oh they were going to get started, she leaned back in her chair crossing her legs and looking towards her nails in an already bored tone. Really this was such a pointless meeting. Glancing down noticing her player at the top of the list she laughed, "The officials are just ridiculous, some of the penalties were nonsense last season. Maybe instead of worrying about upping and fines and penalizing teams, you should be getting half decent officials that didn't have floo powder for brains."
Rolling her eyes as Victoria continued she half glanced at Harvey, always the nice one wasn't he? A bit pathetic really. No wonder the Cannons needed more talent. Having a softy like him for a manager. "I am not wasting my time nor my players time going over this. They are all adults they can read." Hearing Cooper's words she did give a look, because the man was nice too look at, but didn't have brains. Admitting to doing that, pffft, she'd do it, but never admit it. "Exactly, fans like to see a little roughness. If you had officials that knew what they were doing they'd know not to penalizes every little thing." Watching the room as she spoke, Victoria was surprised by how quiet some were being, but that was a good sign if she could think of it that way. Looking to Harvey first spoke and she turned the page. "No knew rules for penalties, the rules that we are going to change have almost nothing to do with penalties. They are ones that have been around for ages and we feel changing them could make the match flow smoother. The first rule to change would be A time out may be called at any time by a team Captain. It may be extended to two hours if a game has already lasted for more than twelve hours. Failure to return to the pitch afterward disqualifies the offending team. The part being proposed for changes is the two hours, we'd like to move that to one hour to just keep a timing of the matches end. We know that matches can go on for as long as the snitch is missing, but things that we can control, we'd like to make better for teams, players, officials, and fans. " She looked around the room to see if she had everyone's attention. "The second does deal with safety, we haven't had too many problems with players and their wands, but there was an issue right after a match between a player and a fan, so the proposed change is for Players may take their wands onto the pitch, but they must not be used on or against any players, any player's broomstick, the referee, any of the four balls, or the spectators. We would like to have that changed to just officials. Players do not need their wands, we have enough security to keep everyone safe if something would come up." Honestly if players just behaved they wouldn't have to think about changing things.
Her eyes snapped as Cooper spoke and widened a bit too. Did he just admit what she thought he was admitting. As she opened her mouth she closed it again and listened to Harvey interrupt. "These are not over reactions, these are issues we've been having and documenting for the past six years that I've been here. Every year it keeps getting worse. Something needs to change and this is the change that we have decided. I would hope you are not admitting to allowing such things to happen Mr. Cooper. You do know the consequences that can come forth for if found doing such things?" No World Cup players, no awards, or championships. That would not be good for revenue either she would imagine. "Your players are to play by the rules and if they don't they will get these punishments. Whether they like it or not they are role models for up and coming players, so they need to act in on the pitch." She was taking a mental note to keep an eye on the Wasps this season.
Giving Rebecca only a glance she was not going to get into it about the officials. "We have well trained officials, that go through a program just to do their job. They are not the issue here." That was all she was saying about that. Moving on she turned back to her notes to find the next thing on the list.

| Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee Brennan rolled his eyes at the look he got from the woman leading the meeting. Why wasn't the Department Head leading? He wasn't going to answer to some admin. He was a former Minister for Magic, and he deserved a little tone of respect, honestly. "It should be obvious that I was speaking hypothetically, but I also know that we only follow rules that actually exist. You can't penalize us for rules you think should exist because we're all such jolly chaps."
As for the duration of the games... he had no issue with that, nor one with the wands going on the pitch. Brennan waved his hand at both of those. "Fine, fine. Longer games are good for our proceeds, but they're much better for yours. I suggest that for games over six hours, the teams participating get a cut of the stadium take. You're making money on food and drinks, lodging... all for a captive audience."

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Mariel nodded politely to the rest that had come in and look towards Victoria as she got the meeting started. She knew exactly what was going to be said and what would be on the agenda as she had already reviewed the details with her Quidditch Division Manager, though she did glance through the names at Vic's mention. Then she lifted her green eyes from her paperwork to hear the reactions of those in attendance. "Yes, Mr. Gunter, I'm sure we all agree," she noted in response to his remark about managers and the like speaking to the players. "That was why we called this meeting instead of sending out a notice and we appreciate everyone's cooperation." She raised an eyebrow as green eyes turned to Brennan Cooper upon hearing him speak. She couldn't say she was surprised to hear that particular viewpoint from at least one of them, and she sat quietly for a moment, giving a few of the others an opportunity to weigh in.
Fighting the urge to roll her eyes as it displayed unprofesssionalism, Mariel simply raised an eyebrow as she lifted her eyes to Rebecca. "Why is it that every time I hear you speak, it's a complaint about what everyone else is doing wrong or not doing correctly? The vast majority of the people hired in relation to this sport is completely competent and professional." She'd know, she oversaw it all. "Perhaps the issue doesn't lie with everyone else." She had had enough of Mrs. Maroon's whining for a lifetime.
And here, she addressed not just the Catapults manager, but the rest of them at all, keeping her tone conversational yet confident. "We have found this to be a serious matter that does seem to be getting further out of hand. If it wasn't such an issue, we wouldn't be wasting anyone's time today. And no, we aren't just talking about a little extra roughness." She knew for a fact that some of the officials overlooked a little Cobbing unless it was really out of hand. "We all know that some of that roughness is part of what makes Quidditch what it is and there is plenty of room for that of which much isn't a violation." Most people considered it a rather violent sport and it did make things exciting. "But some of these violations we are talking about are not only more severe unsportsmanlike conduct but also violations that sway the outcome of a game through tampering and cheating. Fans don't come to see that."
Wait.. give out bonuses for rule violation? Green eyes shifted towards Cooper again. He'd better not be serious. She allowed Victoria to continue before she spoke again. Yes, she agreed with those rule changes as well, especially the wands, as she knew of several instances in the past that could have been prevented with that change. There was no need for it while playing anyway, not with the other accommodations put into place. She furrowed her brow slightly, hearing Cooper speak up again. "We aren't penalizing anyone for imaginary rules. Many of these rules have been put into place for hundreds of years." Tweaked at times, sure, but they were there for a reason and should be well-known by those in the industry. "I trust you all have your own copies of the rules and regulations? If not, we do have them all on record here and can remedy that." Knowledge was essential and she insisted they'd all have that access.
A cut of the stadium take.. hmm. She thought for a moment before nodding towards Victoria. "We can work with that." It seemed fair enough and they could possibly work out the numbers. The actual number would remain to be seen however. Kieran took a glance at the list of names. It didn't really surprise him too much that Barber was on the list, knowing his style of playing and already aware of his violations over the previous year. But he didn't see his violations as anything that severe, in fact, they seemed to remain consistent with his playing over the past few years. "I understand we're you're coming from in regards to trying to get these violations under control," he started slowly. "But suspending a player for the season is rather harsh, don't you think?" He wasn't sure he wanted to build up his reserve that much to have to cover another player who might face those repercussions. "What happens if players are still violating rules and half the team is out for the season? How are we meant to play games?" Purely hypothetical as he wouldn't let it get that far, but was it not a good point?

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Another new year at the Ministry, which usually was something that Mariel found to be motivational and productive for herself in the department, but this year didn't quite have that same feeling to it. And it wasn't that she wasn't driven to work hard and do a great job for Games and Sports, but maybe more that she wasn't ready to return home from Brazil. It had been a lovely holiday.
But she was back now and they all needed to get back to work. It was just too bad that their smaller number made it a little more difficult. She had a lot of faith in her department though and knew they could handle the extra workload. This meeting shouldn't last too long, but there were a few things she wanted to talk over with them all and a welcome back team meeting was the perfect time to do that in her opinion.
Mariel made sure that there were a couple trays of assorted danishes and donuts at either end of the table, as well as coffee, tea, and fruit juices on the small table near the door. She readied herself a cup of coffee, then grabbed a cheese danish, and took a seat at her usual spot, waiting for the rest to come in.

Being early was one thing for Deacon. One of the very first however, well.. It was a brand new and hopefully exciting year. Given the recent news he felt it prudent to be there. Besides. He was having a good hair day. Winter never disappointed.
Entering in the conference room Deacon saw the breakfast spread and his boss already seated as he gave one of his smiles. "G'Morning Mariel.." Fixing himself some coffee and some donuts. He raised his cup a little towards her in gratitude at the spread provided before sitting down. "Have a good holiday?" Now he could just chill before everything went underway. |
