great post, I liked that you changed Dean back to a good guy, it's always nicer that way even if it does change the plot lol and i love the idea of Rome, it's good she's a bit scared of whats going to happen but then so excited at the same time, you do the emotional side so well were as i'm terrible at it lol my charries seem to just have one thing on there mind and yours are a lot more rounded, can't wait for more pams x

Post 44
The next few months were constant hard work. All we all seemed to do was homework. I sent mum an owl at the start of April.

I sent the letter off and crossed my fingers hoping the ‘rents would agree to the trip. I was ever so excited and ready to spontaneously combust at any moment.
With one week till exams to go, and barely any studying done, all I did was play Quidditch and sleep. I didn’t see Harry that often either. Quidditch really helped me release all the tension I had about the future and exams inside of me. My parents never pushed me into it and they have never forced me to practice. It’s because it’s a sport that I love and I probably do too much of it, according to my mum who says that “ladies were not created to fly around on brooms all day, only to use them to sweep the floor.” Well sorry mum, but Harry can do the sweeping if we ever make this relationship last.
And anyway, we had a game coming up in two weeks and as my Granny Jean used to tell me when I couldn’t get the knitting needles to make me a woolly scarf, Practice makes perfect!
Because the nights were getting longer too, I could stay out later to practice. They opened the Quidditch pitch for an extra two hours at night in the summer months. One Thursday night, Harry came to join me for a quick half an hour before bed.
“Hey,” He said casually.
“Hi,”
“So how much studying have you done?”
“Eh, a little, but the exams are next week, I have plenty of time.”
“Ginny, you need to revise a two year course for all your subjects. I don’t think you realise how hard this is.”
“And who are you? My mum?”
“Well you know something, you’ll moan if you fail, and then blame it on someone else. I can’t understand why you refuse to study. You’re a good student. You deserve to get the grades more than anyone I know, but you won’t even sit down for ten minutes with a textbook.”
“Harry, I don’t even know what I want to do with my life. The only thing I have determined for my future is you, and right now I don’t even know if any of us want that. We’ve grown apart recently. We were all like, “Woo! We’re going to Rome!” But now all you do is study and I can’t understand why? You are bloody talented at everything! I’m not. I see studying as a waste of time. And unfortunately for me, studying is in the way. It frustrates me. I get scared every time I sit down with a textbook.”
“If you don’t study, you are not going to Rome!” He told me, just like a strict teacher.
“FINE!” I few back down and landed with a thump but hurried inside before Harry could grab a hold of me. I don’t know what caused me to snap. I hadn’t seen him cause he’d been busy and I was all too aware of the little voice in the back of my head reciting “Six days, twelve hours, twenty four minutes and thirteen second until your first exam.” It was like an alarm clock I was desperate to ignore it and find the sleep button so I could go back to dismissing the fact that it was right there. I hated having it on my conscience. I wish I was in Rome now.
The next morning I woke with a new mind set. I was going to make it up to myself and Harry by finally start studying, especially Herbology…yuck.
I spent the whole week in the common room with my nose stuck in a book. It was all or nothing now. I had to study to get the grades. I only ever saw anyone and breakfast lunch and dinner. I had started to go jogging every morning at six so I was awake and ready for the day ahead and since, had noticed an improvement to my health and fitness level too.

On the day of my first exam I sat in the Gryffindor common room at seven o’clock in the morning reading over notes I had made. Two minutes later, Dean came down from the boy’s dorm. “Hey Ginny.”
“Hi Dean how’ve you been?”
“I’m ok thanks. My mum is supposed to be getting out of St. Mungo’s in two weeks.” He forced a smile.
“That’s great news. How is your Dad?”
“Good yeah.” He nodded in thought.
“Dean, if you don’t mind me asking, where was your dad while your mum was kidnapped and when all that stuff happened?” He winced slightly as he remembered what he could of those months and then started.
“My dad as you know works at the ministry. He was at work when it happened. He was contacted by our neighbour, Mr. Peters as soon as it happened, but by the time he got home, we were gone. I had managed to leave him a note. It consisted of;
”

“I’m really sorry Dean. I couldn’t have helped either. If you ever need someone to talk to I’m here, ok?”
“Thanks Gin.” He smiled. I looked away and frowned. Only Harry called me Gin. I let it pass this time.
I went back to the heads dorm. Harry creped out his room after a few minutes. He sat beside me and kissed my hair. “Ginny, I’m so proud of you. I smiled at him and laughed lightly.”
“Why would that be?” I asked.
“You took my advice on board and you’ve studied all this week. You’re going to pass with flying colours. I can feel it.”
“Eh, Harry we’ll wait and see what the good man at the ministry decides to put on my certificate.”
“And once that comes through, we’re off to Rome!” He said. I giggled as he squeezed my sides. I tumbled over onto the floor. He fell on top of me and I laughed harder. He un-expectantly kissed me. I let my head fall back and I threaded my fingers into his hair holding him close.
“Go and shower, then let’s get this week over with.” I told him. "Then there will be plenty of time for kisses."
“Fine then. I won’t kiss you till your last exam.”
I laughed “You’ll find that harder than I will.”
“Ok then,” He held out his hand for me to help me get up. “One last one for good luck.” And he kissed me sweetly before leaving for a shower.
After breakfast the hall was transformed into the dreaded exam room. I took my seat and opened the paper. Crap… The man at the ministry must hate us, giving us questions like this.

I handed in my paper to the old invidulater and skipped out of the hall. I smiled widely. I felt happy. It was all I could think of. Sure enough leaning against the wall opposite of the hall was Harry. I ran to him as he held his arms open for me. I jumped onto him and kissed him. He steadied himself against the wall. I slipped down his body and decided that me standing was probably best for us both. He kissed me with a smile on his face too. That was us for another year. Exams were finished.




Sorry about the wait. I know this is a really fast paced post but I have lots of ideas for the story and I want to get them out. I understand if this was not on your priority story list either, cause deserting you all for this length of time is unacceptable, I'm really sorry. Forgive Me?

Awe poor Ginny. Exams are so stressful. But it's great relief when you get them all done. I can already imagine her having the time of her life in Rome afterwards. I'm glad she finally decided to start studying later.

That was harsh! Ginny really needs to put a lid on her temper. Poor Harry!

Hello Sophie. I think you posted a great chapter. I love how you are able to show us Ginny's feelings and emotions. I do feel badly for Harry for Ginny treating him that way. I had to laugh though because it struck me funny that he was doing to Ginny exactly what Hermione always did with him and Ron about studying. And he always put off studying as long as he could. On his defense though, he was usually trying to stay alive or something. Maybe she shouldn't have turned away before she frowned. Dean would see her displeasure and know not to call her Gin anymore. i feel relief for her also. I'm sure she feels like a big burden was lifted off of her shoulders.

This next line was probably my most favorite of the chapter. Just because it is all expression that tells the emotion. I could see it so vividly in my mind, and it made me smile. And it was so sweet of Harry to be there for her.

Great post Sophie. Just please don't do this. I think you set a wonderful pace and it was really well written. And as far as something not being a priority, I feel my only priority is reading and getting into the story however you present it to us. I think you're doing great. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to what you have in store for us.

Hey Sophie. Let me try to explain so you understand me. I think you are a very talented writer. I think you think things through and have a desire to write the best each time you post. So, you should write with the assumption that we your readers trust that you write everything the way you do, whether it's a lot of facts, just clues dropped here and there, at a fast pace, or slow, for a reason of your own. I think as long as you present your chapter with clarity, then it doesn't matter how you write it, or what you have in it. And you do write with clarity, so you're doing great, and you shouldn't feel like you have to say you're sorry for doing anything the way you're doing it. And our agenda or whatever you was worrying about doesn't matter, as long as you follow your storyline, we'll happily follow along. I hope I cleared things up for you. Keep up the great writing.

Hi everyone!
Yes, I know- Long time, no see...
I'm sorry I know I sound like a broken record but please believe me when I say I have been really very busy... especially at school.
On the bright side though, my absence from SS has paid off considering my maths. I passed my prelim which is great news since I do not have the easiest of times with the subject and seeing eye to eye with my teacher. So there's the positive.
More good news.... After this post, we're passed all the boring stuff and I actually know what I'm doing with the story so please bear with me.

As for the negative, I think it’s been about a month since I’ve posted! I wish I could say it won’t happen again but I don’t want to promise you something, and then I may not keep that promise. I feel really bad, cause I think I promised you last time it wouldn’t be much of a wait for this post not that it’s worth the wait In fact, I don’t think this post has a point to it or contributes anything relevant to the story but anyway…
Here we go…

Post 45
We walked hand and hand up to the Owlery after Quidditch practice. It was the finals next week and I was so excited.
I received a letter from mum. She ranted on, and on, and on about exams and school and exams studying, oh and did I mention exams.
She said that Dad was happier for me to go to Rome than she was and that they decided that as long as I did well in the OWL’s I’d be able to go. Here’s hoping I’ve passed Herbology!
She did however mention one good thing that I was delighted about. Charlie “the forever bachelor” got married! Mum and Dad had met his fiancée, Katie a few times before, but only ever as a friend. They got married one Saturday afternoon in Romania. I could tell from the way the letter was worded, that mum obviously a little upset about how they went about it and how she had a lack of input. But she’s said she is happy all the same! They are however, having a blessing. Its two days after we arrive home to the Burrow. This is going to be a busy summer!

At dinner that night, a few announcements were made about upcoming events, including the Quidditch finals. To be honest I was really looking forward to it! I turned around to Harry as people began to leave.
“I know we were out earlier, but, since exams are over, do you want to go out for an hour before bed, just to practice?” I batted my eyelids and laughed.
“Oh how could I say no to that face,” Harry laughed rolling his eyes.

I watched Harry as he glanced at his watch. “Shoot, Ginny it’s after 10!” He drew out his wand and the bluddger, quaffle and snitch returned to the box were they were kept, sitting at the side of the pitch.
We ran inside and dropped the box and brooms of in the equipment cupboard. Harry took my hand as we broke into a sprint and rounded the corner into the main corridor and up one flight of stairs. As we were about to turn there was a light at the end of the corridor. Filch turned around waving his little lamp. Harry pulled me back and pressed me up against the wall, covering me with his body. He put a finger to his lips and I nodded understanding I was to be quiet. “Who’s there?” Filch croaked. The old man broke into a slow run. His footsteps sounded heavy despite his light-self and his keys clinked together.
Without any warning, Harry grabbed my hand and decided that running was what we were going to do! I chased him up three flights of stairs. I stopped and panted heavily. “I’ll wait here all night for you to come down! You’re trapped now!” Filch shouted from the staircase below. I bit my lip and smiled cheekily at Harry who suppressed a laugh. “Come on.” Harry pulled me up from the step and wondered aimlessly along a corridor.
He took me to the room of requirement. Inside, the walls were a bright shade of red. It had a cosy looking fireplace in the middle and a thick woolly rug placed in front of it. In the corner was a set of bunk beds and a chest of drawers and in the opposite corner was a chocolate fountain and a fridge, which I’m pretty sure, would have been stalked with drinks.
“Wow!” I looked around the room in awe.
“Looks like were crashing here for the night. I bagsey the top bunk,” Harry said as he ran over and jumped on the top bed. I walked over to the rug in front of the fireplace to warm myself up.
Harry was busy looking through cupboards filled with unnecessary bumph. I wondered to a small kitchen area with a hot chocolate maker that I just had to try out!
Carefully, I levitated the two mugs and placed them on a small oak table. Harry joined me throwing a pair of pyjamas on my lap. “I found these under your pillow. I got bottoms.” He disappeared through a door witch I imagine was to the bathroom then appeared two minutes later, looking good shirtless and in his burgundy and gold striped Gryffindor bottoms. He lay down on the rug and pulled me down beside him. I rested my head on his bare chest as he wrapped his arms around my body. He softy patted out my hair with his hand. We lay in silence. Every so often he would kiss my head or hand and I would kiss his chest. I felt him lean down to look at me. My eyes were shut but I opened them and smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled his face to mine for a soft kiss. It was gentle to begin with but as I rolled over so he was beneath me, it became heated and passionate. I laughed as I stopped him. “I’m tired and I’ve made us hot chocolate and I need to get changed.” He smiled and helped me up and kissed me quickly before I left to get changed.
He was lying back with his head on one of two pillows on the cosy rug. He sat up when he noticed my presence and pulled me down to him. He hugged me tightly. And you know what, I felt loved by this simplest of actions. “Guess what?” I said to him, suddenly wide-eyed.
“What?” He asked.
“I feel really bad staying here for the night. I’m breaking all the rules!”
“Well, it wouldn’t be the first time.” He smiled his Harry smile.
“I know, I know but this is exciting. We could get into so so much trouble.”
He laughed at me and lay down, pulling me with him. He held me that night while I slept, crashed out on that woolly rug because of Quidditch exhaustion. I do remember one thing though. He told me he loved me. And it was the way he said it. He meant it more than ever.

Hello Sophie. I've been missing you and your story. This wasn't a useless post either Sophie. It was very, very dear. I don't condone breaking rules, but I know it is a story, and Filch is just a big bother! They didn't intend on breaking rules. So, I'm sticking with what I said, it was a very, very sweet chapter. I love the emotion you put in the simplest words. Super post sweetie. I hope you're able to post more now that your prelims are done. And by the way, I'm very proud of you for passing. Math was always a struggle for me also. I had to breath a sigh of relief just to get through daily work. Anyway, I'll be watching for your next post. And I don't think any of the past posts have been boring. I've loved and enjoyed each post.
