Default Moribund's Pub

Overlooking the small staircase on the upper level, not far from Splinter and Kreek's, you'll find Knockturn Alley's premiere establishment. Unless you have business here, you will find the door to this pub is almost always locked. If it does happen to open for you, you’ll walk inside the pub, which is dimly lit by lanterns that throw out an eerie orange light. You may feel a distinct creeping feeling up your spine and that isn’t unusual, maybe you should trust your instincts and go somewhere else? The floor in Moribund’s pub is made up of uneven slabs of stone, darkened by age and from the build up of all sorts of grime. The heavy door closes silently behind you as you enter.

In addition to the lanterns, a candlestick sits on each table. Only the candles on occupied tables are lit, though they barely provide enough illumination to see by. The bartender watches you closely, almost accusingly. Its obvious that not just anyone is welcome in Moribunds. They serve food here and it’s surprisingly good but hardly the reason most of the regulars frequent the pub. Children are not welcome in Moribunds; of age witches and wizards only.

You could always return to Knockturn Alley of course, and you might just end up flat on your bum in the street if you cross the wrong people.

Be respectful of others and understand that measures might just be taken IC if trouble erupts. Remember, just as it states in the site rules "...Butterbeer, firewhiskey, and wine (since they are in the books) are allowed in moderation in Fanfiction and RPGs (read section rules first!), but we do not allow drunkenness, alcoholism, alcohol related violence, etc..." Please be aware of this as action will be taken for any and all inappropriate behaviour.

Her eyes scanned the pub for any sign of recognition, eventually landing on the bartender before she approached him for a drink. Once she ordered two glasses of elderberry wine, she took them to an empty table and slid into a seat in a dark corner of the pub where she would wait. He wasn't here yet, but he soon would be. No one stood up Alphonsine Rosier, least of all the man she was waiting for.
Not turning up to a planned event was simply not in Sebastijan's nature. He'd given his word, it was in his daily plans. How could he not turn up? There was also the small matter of precisely who he intended to meet in this so-called premiere establishment. A woman whose beauty and intellectual capacity had the ability to brighten even the darkest, grimiest of pubs.

With his hood up and his cloak wrapped around him, Sebastijan entered the pub and came to an immediate stop. No thoughts about others entered his mind as he glanced around this meeting place. His eyes lingered on the smallest of details: the unevenness of the slabs of stone, the eeriness of the lighting that barely lit up his surroundings, the creepiness that slithered its way down his spine. It was perfect.

His cloak gently billowed out behind him as he made his distinct way towards a particular table. The lit candlestick certainly helped narrow down his choices, allowing the man to discern which of the tables were occupied and which weren't. And, particularly, which one was occupied by the woman he was looking for. Alphonsine Rosier. A woman who was hard to ignore and harder to please.

It didn't take long for Sebastijan to come to a pause beside a table in a dark corner of the pub that occupied a single hooded figure. "I hope this seat's not taken," he uttered quietly, allowing himself the opportunity to smirk as he slid into the seat directly opposite her.

She noticed him at once as he entered the pub, mere moments before he caught sight of her and approached the table. And as he sat, Alphonsine allowed the hood of her cloak to drop down to her shoulders, revealing her delicate features still partially obscured by the shadows enveloping the table. She affixed Sebastijan with a small smile, not addressing his inquiry as it was already a given. He always seemed willing to please when it came to her demands, whether it was because of her innate charms or other methods of persuasion. But she found the reason why to be of little consequence.

"I took the liberty of ordering you a drink," she said lightly, nodding to the glass of elderberry wine in front of him before she lifted her own glass to her lips. Somewhat suspicious of this shady establishment, Alphonsine had already taken measures to make sure nothing unsavory was added to either drink so she was certain it was safe for consumption. They didn't need any detours in their plans, no matter how minor.

"Everything seems to be moving quite smoothly." She kept her tone conversational and light as her eyes made a cursory sweep of the general vicinity before looking back at the man across from her. It was as much a statement on her part as it was confirmation that his part was still going according to plan. "I sent our new friend on an errand." She smiled as she took another sip of wine. She expected him here soon as well.

Sebastijan lifted the glass to survey the drink inside carefully, even giving it a small stir to further inspect the nature of the drink. He had a very stringent rule for drinks: he didn't drink anything that he didn't see poured directly from the bottle. It was a dangerous world and laying his trust in the unknown was merely out of question.

But Alphonsine wasn't unknown. In fact, Alphonsine was one of the very few people he trusted, possibly even wholeheartedly. And, as he glanced back at her, he noticed the way she was harmlessly sipping away at her own drink. So his response? "Cheers," he said, offering her a smile in return before taking a large sip of his own drink. Mmm. Was that - he paused to take another sip - elderflower?

Conversation continued, but not on the topic of the flavour of the wine. It was more interesting, and gave the kind of confirmation that caused Sebastijan to smile. "Oh good. Very good," he said, just as lightly, "I hope he's delivering enough of the right groceries." Simple words, simple conversation, but he had faith that Alphonsine would understand why this was of such great importance to him.

"Speaking of, when did he say he'd arrive?"

It pleased her to no end how much Sebastijan trusted her, as was apparent by how easily he sipped his drink. And it was not without good reason. He was one of Alphonsine's longest friends and one of the very few she trusted in return. And that happened to be crucial right now.

But she continued to keep conversation light as she sipped her wine, internally very happy with the way things were currently progressing. "I am certain that he's up for the task. He should be along shortly." He'd best know better not to disappoint them or leave them waiting, but she knew she had been nothing short of charming when sending him on his errand.

"I trust all the identification is in order?" That part was essential as well as all the other pieces falling into place. "I've heard about some of the... mm, malfunctions," she added oh so casually as she finished her glass of wine. "We should be able to find a way in."

Funny that no matter how dark Knockturn Alley was, the pub always seemed to be darker. Upon entering the pub, Jack paused a moment to let his eyes adjust. It was best not to enter this place when one couldn’t see who might be trying to jack roll the pickpocket. Especially because tucked into one of the numerous pockets of his oversized dark green coat was a small moleskin bag full of the potions ingredients he’d recently purchased from the apothecary (minus the unicorn hair). Just how did all those ingredients fit into the small moleskin bag? Well, a simple extension charm. A simple Undetectable Extension Charm that one of the few spells Jack was really good at preforming. Just a little something he’d done in hopes of impressing the pretty lady he was about to meet.

He nodded to the barkeep as he approached the bar, using obtaining a drink to acclimate himself to the place. It was best to look like you had no business because it drew less attention. ”Whiskey, neat.” he ordered, wishing, not for the first time, that the place sold ice-cold beer. Butterbeer was too sweet and he’d learned the hard way at a no-maj pub that the English liked warm beer. It almost made him wish he were back in New York.

He took a moment to dip a finger into whiskey and taste it before he bothered with a sip, figuring that unless the barkeep had done something to the bottle Jack had just seen the whiskey poured from, he should be alright drinking the alcohol. Finally, he picked up the cup and took a sip as he turned around, leaning his back against the bar. His pretty little contact lady should be here. He just need to – ah…there she was! Sitting in a back corner. But she wasn’t alone Perhaps he should wait for her business with the fella to conclude before he moseyed on over.

At Alphonsine’s words, Sebastijan wasted no time in drawing back his sleeve to survey the watch strapped to his right-hand wrist. Shortly. As ambiguous of a time frame as it was, he was going to have to accept it. "Excellent. I would hate to be kept waiting." Not when he was very much looking forward to the gift their friend had to deliver.

"Would I ever let you down?" he said, pausing only to give her a smirk over the rim of his wine glass, "They have been checked and are of working quality. I doubt there’ll be any complications." A fact that he hoped would make her feel more at ease, should she need it. Her happiness was, after all, indispensable. "Oh?" There was a look of intrigue on his face as he took a large sip of the wine. "I guess we’ll be facing fewer hassles than we thought." Excellent. Truly excellent.

While he was giving Alphonsine and her beauty every bit of attention that he could, Sebastijan couldn’t help but notice another creepy feeling slithering down his back. His highly intuitive nature was noticing a shift, the kind that made him feel as though he was being watched. He reluctantly tore his eyes away from the woman sitting opposite him and started scanning the surrounding area. The lack of appropriate lighting made this a difficult task but eventually, his eyes landed on a man. A man in a large coat who, despite being shrouded in the natural darkness of the pub, he could tell was facing them.

Hmm.

Alphonsine allowed her smile to brighten at Sebastijan's confirmation that he did indeed procure the necessary supplies and already had them checked. "I knew I could count on you," she said sweetly, her natural charm infused in every word. She nodded as he continued, pleased that so far every step had been so meticulously planned out and that it was coming together so well.

And she usually was attentive enough that she would have seen the other man when he came in, but it was Sebastijan's averted gaze that alerted her attention to the newcomer. "Right on time," she murmured quietly enough that only her companion would have heard. Alphonsine gave their mark an expectant look before subtly gesturing him to make his way over with a nod of her head. She needed him to deliver the goods so she could take her leave of this dingy dive.

It appeared, that the fella, whoever he was, wasn’t leaving anytime soon. So Jack busied himself with his whiskey. He was content to linger by the bar, with one eye on the pretty lady in the corner and the other on the rest of the bar. He was content, that was, until he noticed the motion for him to come over. He waited a moment to see if the fella would get up. But the man stayed put at the table. He frowned into his cup as he took a sip. Jack preferred to do business with his client and only his client. Audiences bred displays that didn’t bode well in his line of work.

He finished his whiskey and ordered another. Putting on his most charming (aka creepy) smile, Jack ambled on over to the table where he pulled out a chair and sat down without an invitation. ”Funny,” he said as he put his glass down on the table. ”I was going to wear that same outfit tonight!” He gave Alphosine a wink as he motioned to Sebastijan. It was a dumb joke at the man's expense that he hoped the lady found funny, but rankled the man. If he was lucky, the dude might leave. ”Only, I'm pretty sure that I fill it out better. And unlike you, I have the a handbag that compliments the shoes.”

Well well, the door to Moribund's OPENED this time! Logan had definitely tried this once or twice and it hadn't worked for him, but maybe someone had left it unlocked today. Or maybe he was about to get himself into some trouble. WHO CARED, he was thirsty for a drink and he had a few spare coins so he was buyin'.

"What're ya thinking?" he glanced toward his twin as he approached the bar. Drink first, catch up second.

He felt uneasy, but at least he was with Logan if anything sketchy were to happen. And they were Wes Ferguson's sons...surely...it was still a name of fear around here, right? He hoped so. "I dunno...probably just a butterbeer. Sweet sounds good right now..." he didn't much want anything else since it was MORIBUND'S. "Are you getting food, too? Or..?"

Some of the menu items looked good. But..........did he trust the food here. "Since when are you so comfortable just...going for drinks in Knockturn, Logan?" he asked, eyebrow raised. It made Scottie think his twin had been here, casually, before. He glanced around, making himself aware of everyone currently in the pub AND exits...and as he leaned casually against the bar, he shoved his hands in his pockets. His wand was located in his holster as it SHOULD be.

"One butterbeer and one single malt whiskey," Logan ordered, without a pause to consider his brother's wimpy choice of drink. Of course he would go with a butterbeer; it was tame and boring, like him. Logan's mouth twitched a bit at the question about food. So Scottie wanted to spend some quality time together, huh? Here he thought they'd be in and out, no time spent together. "I could eat." They had enough coins for that too, probably.

He almost punched his brother to keep his voice down. Could he BE any more obvious, with all the looking around and whatnot? "C'mon," he muttered, frowning at nudging his brother to knock off the narc behavior. "It's just drinks...." Geez, could he cool it or would they have to leave?

Look, Scottie wasn't accustomed to hanging out in SKETCHY PLACES so of course his motions and mannerisms weren't NATURAL, LOGAN. He didn't want to be incapacitated so he went with a butterbeer, and it was almost like he could FEEL his brother's judgment. "Me, too. Especially after you scared me with that wasp..." he shivered. Hunger after suffering trauma, yes? "You know how much I hate bugs, Logan. Why in the hell did you do that?" he furrowed his brows and felt even more irritated by Logan's nudge. Just drinks...cool. Whatever.

"AND in front of a stranger, too - you know how I get - I am not GOOD with strangers - " now that he was reflecting on it, he found his brother's behavior rude and uncalled for! And a little hurtful! "I would never have embarrassed you like that," he grumbled. Scottie ruffled his hair and waited for his drink to appear.

Annnnnnnd here we go. The whinging. Logan paid and accepted their drinks, passing Scottie's over to him without spilling even a drop of it. You're welcome, broseph.

"Thought you needed a greeting with a little edge to it," he replied calmly, quietly taking a slip of his whiskey. More whinging? Oh, so Scott wasn't done yet. He tried not to roll his eyes but failed. "The thing is, you can't embarrass me like that. I'm not afraid of anything, so." Another sip, this time with Logan's judgmental eyebrows being raised in Scott's direction. He set down his drink heavier than he'd intended, and bluntly asked, "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?" You know? See, he'd maybe been a little irritated at his brother when he'd sent a wasp his way, and then he'd just been amusing himself with the other bugs. But really, this was all on Scottie for failing to communicate with his other half. It was hurtful to be neglected by your own twin.

"A little edge? That was more than a little edge, Logan," he was frowning. "I don't think you understand just how traumatic that COULD have been for me. What a welcome back - "

Wait.

Was THAT why Logan did it? Because he hadn't called Logan to say he was BACK? It made Scottie SNORT. "You're peeved that I didn't make you aware that I was moving back? Logan - that had always been the plan - I didn't know that I needed to formally announce myself, like the Queen or something - " he rolled his eyes. Logan liked to pretend he wasn't as sensitive as Scott, but Scottie knew the reality. He was juuuuuust as sensitive; Logan just liked to pretend. "Plus.. I figured mum or dad told you." He shrugged.

But the guilt was starting to seep in. Maybe he should have told Logan, like, officially. There was more frowning. A lot of it, actually, as he sipped his butterbeer.

Okay, truuuuue, he did not understand 'trauma' and 'fear' and thought that most of the time, his brother was just overreacting. But please, it had been a harmless prank, AND he'd helped his brother ALMOST get a date with that Rose lady, whatever her name was. So he'd almost been helpful, really. Scottie should be thanking him. "My bad," was all he said instead, in a mild, almost bored tone that read are you done lecturing me yet?

He tilted his glass so the amber liquid swirled around like a soft vortex, snorting too at his brother's joke about the Queen. "Nobody ever tells me nuthin," he grunted, still making eye contact with the drink and not his sibling. "You think Dad would let me move in after uni?" Not a fat chance in the world. His father was still peeved that he hadn't graduated on time. Noooooo no, they'd just cater to the favorite son all the time. "They hardly contact me at all."

He looked up now, mostly at the bar, and took another sip of drink that finished it off. There. He set his glass down heavily and rapped his knuckles on the bar for another. "It was actually Emma who told me you were in town." Now his blue eyes drifted back toward his sibling. "Guess you still owl her, huh."

His bad? HIS BAD? Scottie had the overwhelming urge to hex him yet again. He had wanted to back there before with Rosemary....but he kept his hands on his butterbeer. Logan didn't sound sorry at all, and it very annoying.

Did he detect jealousy? "I think he would if you had a good reason to. Only reason I am is because I don't have a job yet. But I'm looking...." he shrugged. "I dunno....maybe if I got something good enough, you and I could get out own place," he glanced his Logan's direction. He didn't know why....he wanted to, but he had been thinking about it since he graduated, and even with all the turmoil and weird jealousy and competition between them....he still wanted to. And he had been PLANNING on talking to Logan about it as soon as he could. Which apparently was now. "I get it if you don't want to. Since I'm so lame or whatever." He shrugged.

Oh yeah, Logan was definitely feeling some kind of way. "I do when I have time. I ... I wasn't the best as keeping in touch. I know. I'm sorry," his voice was soft. "I was busy working hard and trying to stay afloat with classes AND my internship," he shrugged again and continued sipping his butterbeer. "Did you honestly WANT me to contact you? Because that's a two-way street, you know."

Logan wasn't sorry. He'd do anything for attention when he was craving it, and bugging his brother (literally) was just child's play for him. So no, he felt no remorse, but he was smart enough to not rub it in further. Scottie was pretty good with a hex, ya know?

He stared at his twin at this turn of the conversation it was like lookin' in a mirror. "Are you serious?" No one knew Logan better than his twin, and as much as they fought and argued and everything else, he also trusted no one more. "Seriously? No takesies-backsies?" He grinned and gave his brother a rough shove on his shoulder, followed by several congratulatory pats. "I'm proud of you for admitting that, bro, but of course I'd get a place with you. Once I, uh, get a job too." Or graduate, whichever happened first... At the moment, Logan was sharing a mattress on the floor of a London loft belonging to someone he didn't know very well, so even living with Scott would be a step up from that. "It'll be like our Hogwarts days!" he cheered, paying for his next round and then clinking his whisky against Scott's butterbeer.

Hear hear!

"It's fine," he waved Scott's explanation away, feeling buoyed by the premise they were planning together. Also, yeah. It was true that Logan preferred someone to reach out to him first rather than the other way around. "Yeah yeah, me too. I just, uh, lost owling privileges at the uni recently." It was a lame excuse, but it was half true, even though there were ways around that. "Long story." He busied his mouth with taking another sip of his new drink to avoid explaining.

He nodded. Seriously. "I am. I don't WANT to live with mum and dad. It's weird. It's like...being a teenager again, and I don't like it. It's not that mum and dad are weird or anything but..." he shrugged. "Also, Emma is very nosy. I love you, mind you - " he wiggled his eyebrows, "But she is NOSY." Not that he had anything to hide. But he liked his privacy. "I mean where do you live now? How do you pay for it?" he asked curiously. If Logan could afford to pay for somewhere NOW, once Scottie got a job, he was sure they'd be set. he had no idea about the mattress situation ahem

He grinned. "I swear - no takesies-backsies..." ugh. Had he just said that aloud? He rolllllled his eyes at the mention of Hogwarts. "Better not be. I would hope you've grown up since then. Please." Or he WOULD takesie...backsie. UGH

....wait what?

"Why? You can't OWL?" What kind of rule was THAT?! "What did you do? Does dad know?" Merlin's pants!

Yeah, he understood that, to an extent. Logan wouldn't have minded living with Mum for longer, but Dad? His old man was too strict. Too many rules, curfews, questions about where he was going, and with whom, and why he wasn't back yet... he just nodded at Scott to show that he understood.

"Oh, me?" He chuckled a little as though it was some big mystery as to how he was getting by at uni. "I moonlight as a barista at the school coffee joint." And he was not a very good one, to be honest. "But it helps make ends meet, and you know mum and dad pay for my classes...." That had been something they'd done for both of them. Logan had other ways of finding a place to crash at night, but he wouldn't get into that with his morally uptight brother.

So anyway. It was a nice change to see his brother smiling and getting along with him. "Of course I've grown up. Haven't you seen how tall I am?" Heh heh, Logan could never be serious for more than five minutes at a time, come on bro!

He almost coughed out his drink at the does Dad know question. "Course not. He'd probably have had a heart attack, you know he's getting up there in years." He eyed Scottie again. "It wasn't a big deal, alright? Just a big misunderstanding involving a duplication spell, some suggestive owl posts, and an albatross...." He thought about launching into the story and then thought better of it. "Never mind that, did you say you wanted food?" Logan shifted his attention to the bartender to see about getting some chips.

Moonlighting as a barista paid that much, then? Scottie was furrowing his eyebrows in a way that GREATLY resembled their father. "Right. I'm sure that's all you do." He sipped and finished up his butterbeer, deciding against asking about that right now. Maybe he didn't wanna' know, yeah? Some things were better left unanswered.

.... Scottie was going to be left with no snot at the rate he was snorting at his brother. "Um. Right. Sometimes I don't think your jokes are funny, sorry," he said as he shifted his position. "I don't want another butterbeer...I'll take a water this time, and food, sure," he sighed and gritted his teeth. "Do you think the food is...good?" he asked. If he got sick later, he'd know what it was from. "I'm feeling bangers and mash, honestly..." sounded nice.

Suggestive owl posts? AN ALBRATROSS? "I don't even want to know what you get yourself into, mate," he shook his head. "How are your grades so far this semester? You still aiming to graduate in the spring?" And entire year AFTER Scottie......he wanted his brother to hurry up and graduate so he could stop hearing their dad complain about it. AND so that Logan would learn some responsibility!

Was Scottie going to go full-on MLE interrogator on him or what? Logan waited for some snarky response from his sibling (he was giving him big Dad vibes, ugh) but that was it? "Sure thing, pal." He clapped his brother on the shoulder and turned back to his drink.

"Haaaaaaaa," he shook his head at him. "That's the problem: you're thinking about 'em. You're just supposed to laugh, let a little steam out, a chuckle. Don't think so much." Really, he'd be a lot happier if he loosened up that noggin of his once in a while. Did he think the food here was good..... "See, now THAT's a joke, Scott. GOOD ONE." Logan chortled but flagged down the bartender yet again so they could order. "I'm thinking fish and chips for me, but have whatever you want." And sure, again, he'd pay, even though he was the one not living at home off Mum and Dad's dime... huh.

Logan just smirked at that one and finished his second drink. "Nah, you really don't." Right again, Scottie boy! Er, about the grades and graduating... he shifted slightly on his stool, clearly unhappy with this topic. "I guess." He guessed he could finish a whole year late.... the grades though, they weren't the best. He made a face as though he were contemplating admitting this to his brother. "I....I probably need a tutor." To put it mildly.

Don't think so much.

Right.

That was much easier for Logan to say. Scottie just snorted. "I can't help thinking. My brain naturally does it," he shot his brother a look. "You should work on your brain's ability to do that, bro. Might help you out of sticky situations...OR...better yet, hinder you from getting INTO them," he smirked and was glad when he was handed a water and sipped from the glass. Unfortunately, the water was lukewarm, and Scottie, being quite used to being coddled, was annoyed by it, but he didn't say much. Whatever. Water was water, he supposed. "I'll have the bangers and mash," he told the barkeep simply. "Thanks."

And no, he did NOT offer to pay because after all the crap Logan had just pulled? He owed Scottie. Big time.

Scott just raised an eyebrow. "A tutor? How bad are they?" The grades, he meant. "I could always help....." unless he required a LOT of it. "I applied for a couple of jobs and...I'm waiting to hear back from them. Hopefully I can schedule some interviews." So...that meant he was busy, Logan, and only available to tutor a LITTLE BIT.

"Fish and chips and a water for me," Logan repeated for the bartender when it was his turn, doing his best to ignore his brother's comments about thinking. Thinking. Thinking. "Dunno, man," he shrugged exaggeratedly, "I feel like it's kinda overrated compared to just acting!" Seriously, bro. Thinking hurt took too long.

And yes, Logan did pay for their meals because aPpaReNtLy he had to in order to get his brother to keep hanging out with him. Hmph.

"Eh, you know, just nearing Acceptable staus." Actually he had one or two Trolls at the moment but he knew better than to be too specific with his sib. "It's just the... I can't remember all the magical theory stuff." It was a lot, okay?! He looked at his brother with just a slight pout. He knew Scott was trying to SOUND busy, but 'applying' and 'waiting to hear back' were like, not actual things that kept him busy. "So you'll help me? You'll quiz me?" His brother had basically studied the same thing. "You have notes I can borrow or something?" Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeas?

He was glad to see his Logan was switching to water as well. Good choices were made! "Just acting on every whim is..dangerous, bruv," he raised an eyebrow. "I feel like I could do with a bit of just acting...YOU could do with a bit more thinking...it's almost like we should have been one person, eh?" he actually laughed. Imagine that - twins, one person?! "Almost like we were split into TWO at some point!" Heh. He found it funny.

Nearing Acceptable? "It's not even AT acceptable yet?" Scottie was making a horrified face. "No - no - we're fixing that," he was getting excitable, tapping his fingers on the bar-top. "We're making a study schedule - I'll give you all my old notes because I have a LOT...and we're studying more. Do you understand, Logan?" his voice had gotten all stern. "What in the world have you been DOING the past three years without me? Floundering all this time? Doing any work at all?!" Suddenly Scottie was furious! "We can't let mum and dad know how poorly you're doing - come on! First things first - do your professors know your name or who you are? Or should we plan some sucking up to do? Professors are more willing to help you out if you visit them and pretend YOU LOVE them and whatnot!" Didn't Logan KNOW THIS?

SO no, Scottie wasn't going to just "quiz" him; get ready for a whooooooole new schedule, Logan Ferguson.

Yes, it was all Scott's influence that Logan was switching to water. He knew what his brother would say if he had a third drink in his presence and simply didn't care to hear it. "I didn't say every whim," he clarified, albeit with a big smirk. Oh Merlin, here was the joke. He staaaaaared at Scott and subtly shook his head, adding, "Um, sometimes I don't think your jokes are funny, sorry." Sound familiar? HA. Now THAT was called being funny, Scottie.

He winced and tried not to look directly at Scott. It was like looking into the sun sometimes; his brother was so bright (pun fully intended) and much more intense than him when it came to academics. "First off, it's been four years without you," he answered calmly, easily picking up on his brother's stern tone and trying not to bristle too much at it, though he did bristle SOME. "And second," NOW he was looking at Scott with a defensive glare, "of course my professors know my name. Do you think I'm an incompetent prat or what?" Now he didn't say HOW or WHY they knew his name, as they were often shouting it in exasperation or using it to kick him out of lecture, but still. It counted.

It was his turn to snort derisively as he crossed his arms and put both elbows on the bar in a full on pout. "I do work. I was doing a homework when I ran into you just a little while ago!" Granted, he'd just been practicing being invisible, and granted, he'd ruined it himself with his antics, but still. He felt like he deserved a LITTLE credit here.
