Girls and their mood swings. They gave him a headache. One minute Rea wouldn't even look at him or speak to him, the next she was crying in his arms. He blinked and she's talking about painting his nails bright colors for his tours. Merlin help him, what had he done by inviting her along? Somehow he knew he was doomed. With the sister there his nails would be done, his hair would be perfect and chances were he would end up with an entirely new wardrobe too. If it made Rea happy and helped fix their relationship, then it was going to happen. And so was this. Now that she was no longer crying and speaking to him again, he could finally get to the real reason why he was up here. "So.. I actually have something that I wanted to ask you before I don't get the chance to." Koen looked at his younger sister and grinned at her wondering if she would be able to guess what he wanted to ask her or if she wouldn't care and would just nag him until he did. |
Pfffft. Excuse him! Wasn’t Koen used to mood swings from girls already? Surely he had had enough experience with Stas? If not, then Rea would wear the title of being the moodiest female in his life like a diamond studded crown. But wouldn’t he rather she cry it out in front of him instead of continuing to hold all her feelings inside? Reagan had a feeling that he would prefer it the former way. The promise of touring with him and painting his nails did keep her going. Already the girl was anticipating the limitless amount of fun she would have. Why was her big brother grinning like that? Reagan sat up and scrubbed at her eyes and cheeks. It seemed as though he had something exciting and important to ask her but what could top her going on tour with him and being allowed to conduct proper manicures on him? “What’s that?’’ Rea asked, puzzled and not in the least suspecting what the question might be. |
What?! It's not like it wasn't true. Sure, he was but Stas wasn't nearly as moody and thank Merlin nowhere near as loud as Reagan is. The younger sister could have all the crowns in those areas of his life if that made her happy. As for her not speaking to him, he knew he would eventually get her to, he always did. It was all in the matter of what he promised her. Having her tour with him though, he was actually looking forward to that. The look on her face told him that she had no idea what he wanted to ask her and this knowledge only made him grin even more. Good, he wanted it to come as a huge surprise to her. "Well, I was wondering if you would like to be my Best Women at my wedding. Be the one to stand at my side." Yeah, nothing about him was really completely traditional and their wedding wasn't going to be either so no Best Man for him. He wanted his sister at his side. |
Whatever. He loved her a lot and they both knew it. He spoiled her at times by being generous - like with his tour offer - and Rea easily fell for it, but that was only because she loved and adored him as well. She supposed that her way of showing that is by constantly giving Koen a difficult time. Rea also knew she needed to tone it down; it wasn’t fair to her big brother to have to deal with her silliness that much. Oh gosh! Look at the smile! It was huge! “You look like the Joker from those Batman movies when you smile like that,’’ the Gryffindor said with a mighty sniff. She was halfway through a second one when she suddenly stopped so that she forgot to exhale. Rea stared up at Koen in surprise. What?! Surely she had heard wrong! |
Duh! Obviously he loved her. Did she realize how many years he had waited for a younger sibling? Lots. And then he was so wonderfully blessed with her. The delight that was Reagan Anders. He loved all of his siblings but if he were to be very honest, Rea would always have a special place in his heart as she was the one that made him a big brother first. So.. yeah she was always upset with him but maybe that was why he sometimes went out of his way a little more to make her happy. Hey! It wasn't his fault that she wasn't picking up on what he had been about to ask her and this was playing out all too perfectly. So perfectly in fact, that he didn't even comment on her 'Joker' comment. The look on her face only made him nod his once. "Is that a yes?" Her being completely speechless wasn't normal soooo... either he had completely stunned her into silence or he didn't know what had just happened here. Koen was going to hope for the first one. |
Snort. He could have fooled her. Okay, not really because looking back, Koen had been an attentive brother to her, Jude and Keighley. Their two younger siblings seemed to be comfortable with that and the way things were now but apparently Rea thought about things too much. She couldn’t help but be worried about how different things would be once Koen got married. She was his favourite then? Would she always be? Would he always go out of his way to cheer her up when she had a tantrum? What?! Oh RIGHT! She hadn’t answered his question as yet because her brain had gone all fuzzy with delight. “It’s a HUGE yes!” And Reagan threw her arms securely around Koen to squish the life out of him. “I’d love nothing more!!” |
Rude. This was fact. He always loved her and always would. Even when she had been a tiny little thing and cried her small lungs out when he had held her for the first time. Yeah, he remembered that and rather then get upset and pass her back to one of their parents he he had held her even closer and sang to her. She was the first sibling he used to play his guitar and drums for, the latter when she was old enough of course so it wouldn't hurt her delicate ears. Things were sure to change when he married but not in the sense that she was thinking. He would always be there for her. For all of them. Big brothers didn't have favorites, Rea. Ahem. But shhhh, don't go telling anyone. For her, he would weather any tantrum she threw. Right. They should get back on topic, yes? Koen hadn't exactly been expecting to be squished right then and there but it was all good. "Well that's good to hear otherwise I would have had to ask one of the younger ones..." He laughed a bit as he wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly to him. That had been a joke as he knew she wouldn't want one of them stepping in to take her spot for something so important. "Now for the most important question of the night.. are we good?" She wasn't mad at him anymore, was she? |
Perhaps Reagan needed to be reminded of those memories she did not have a clear recollection of. It would do her well and obviously show that Koen loved her very much despite whatever intrusive thoughts she would occasionally have. Truthfully, there were bits of memories of him playing the drums and guitar for her; she might even recall banging on the drums with a stick and a little chubby fist. Well, Rea didn’t doubt him. It was just that she might need a bit of reminding ever so often that he wasn’t going to drift away from them all - or rather, her mostly. She didn’t think she could stand it if that happened. “No, no! You don’t need to ask them!” Sorry, Keigh! Sorry, Jude! Reagan allowed herself to be hugged tightly because it made her feel safe and Koen had chased her bad thoughts away. For now. She was indeed grateful to him. “Uh huh,’’ she replied, feeling ashamed of her behaviour. “I’m sorry, Ko.” Why did she have to be like this? How often did her mouth get her in trouble with others because she couldn’t control it? She needed to figure out a better way to deal with this negative trait of hers. |
That honestly sounded like a really good idea. Maybe they could dig out some of their mum's photo albums too and he could really prove things to her, no doubt there was tons of photographic evidence in those. Indeed that did happen, as did her sitting upon his lap and him letting her bang at his brand new drum set with her hands just so he could hear her giggle up a storm. He had always done his best to give her all of his time when he was home but it did get more and more difficult as he got older. He might have a busy lifestyle but that wouldn't keep him from coming home whenever he could. Plus he was only a mirror call away whenever she needed him. Ko chuckled. "No? You sure, you're not too busy with all that other things you've got going on?" Now he was just teasing her because he could. Being the good big brother that he was.. LOL.. he let the hug linger for as long as she needed it to before letting her go, unless she wanted to lean against him, in which case she was more than welcome to. "It's okay, Rea. We're cool, always will be." Siblings always stuck together no matter what. |
Bringing out the old family albums certainly would help a lot. Their parents had taken a lot of pictures during each of their children’s childhood and well… it would come in handy now. Sometimes one needs to be reminded of certain aspects of life. Seeing all those times with Koen would make her realise how wrong she was for being insecure and what an idiot she was being. Reagan pouted but it was of the comical sort, even though Koen couldn’t currently see her face. “I’m sure. I can clear my schedule just for you!’’ When the hug was broken, Rea continued with her funny pout but then dropped it soon after. She was forgiven! Yay! Cue a happy Reagan Aurora Anders making an appearance once more! “Oh yes, do I get to choose a dress or do you and Stas already have a style in mind?” |
Sometimes life was just hard. Age gaps between siblings as large as theirs weren't easy. Those photo albums were going to be a fun blast into the past filled with some great memories for them. They were for sure going to come across at least a few silly things they had long since forgotten about. "Yeah? Well that's awfully nice of you since the wedding is all planned and in just a few days and such," he laughed quietly knowing she was only teasing. Well, yeah she was forgiven. They were family and he wasn't going to be upset with her over this. Koen looked at her when she asked about a dress and had to contain a smirk and laughter. "You do know who you're talking to, right? If it sticks to the color scheme I'm sure it will be perfect." He didn't have anything specific in mind and he didn't believe Stasya did either. |
Reagan made an unpleasant face at Koen for a second before laughing. “You.” She poked him in the center of his chest with an index finger. “Took too long to ask me so it’s your fault.” There was an angelic smile on her face to show that she was teasing right back. But what Koen had asked her to do was quite unconventional, quite untraditional. Rea LOVED it! Traditions were SO boring, anyway! If anyone didn’t like her being the bestwoman… well, she could think of a few colourful words. The girl laughed. “You’re the most hopeless of the four of us when it comes to fashion. But luckily, the dress I was planning on wearing will fit just nicely with the theme.” Now Rea was feeling one hundred percent better and her energy was returning with a vengeance. “Okay! It’s all settled! I can’t wait to tell Keigh and Jude!’’ |
Koen eyed the offending finger that had poked his chest, laughing heartily. "Annnnnd, do we know why I waited so long to do that?" Could it have been because she was constantly ignoring him? Or perhaps it was just because that's how he did a lot of things. Maybe it was neither of those and had to do with him not wanting to hear her going crazy about it for months. Whatever the reason.. did it really matter now that she had agreed? Plus who better to stand at his side and then her? "Hey! Now that's just rude! I like to think that Stas has done a good job in helping me with that," he smirked. Ko knew full well that his fashion sense was very simple unless he was on tour and needed to stand out for wrock band purposes. Otherwise he preferred to blend in with those around him when he could. "Well, you go ahead and tell whoever you like now. The news is all yours to spread around." There was no doubt in his mind everyone was going to know in no time flat. |
Did they know why he took so long to ask her? Of course! “Because you were afraid that I would say no, and you didn’t want your heart to be broken over that.” Duuuh, silly Koen! It really was as simple as that. In reality, though, Reagan would never refuse such an offer from anyone who meant the world to her; Koen happened to be one of such persons. Reagan threw up her hands in defeat. “Fine, fine! I’ll concede to that. She has helped a bit!” Rea’s fave look for Koen was his wrock outfits. If he hadn’t been her brother, she was sure she would have been a wild fangirl with a crush on him. The young woman’s grin could have rivaled the sun, so brilliant it was. “Excellent! I’ll start with mum and dad!” With that, she leapt off her bed. “Race you downstairs!’’ A split second later, Rea was out the door. |
Blink. Blink. Blink. Excuse him for not saying anything at all for a minute or so. He was trying not to laugh, therefore he settled on grinning at her and simply nodded. "Yeah, yeah sure. Let's go with that." Whatever you say, Rea. Anything to keep her happy right now and not wanting to freak out on him again. "I'll be sure to let her know that you allowed her to take some of the credit," he chuckled lightly. When it came to being up on stage he wasn't the one front and center constantly so he didn't always need to standout. "Start with whoever you want. I'll follow you." Koen waited a second so he wouldn't get balled over by her before getting to his feet and following Rea out of her room and downstairs to find their parents. |
Big brother was awfully nice to go along with her like that. It was just another gesture that proved that he indeed loved her. As for her sister-in-law, Rea loved her too and appreciated all she did for Koen’s fashion sense. Between the other Anders’ siblings and Stas, Ko was now such a fashionable wrock star! At the moment? Her feet were quickly taking her down the stairs; she could hardly wait to share this joyous news! It’s the summer of 2109. Charlie has officially moved to Britain and it’s moving day at his and his mother’s new house. Characters: Charlie Bergstrand (FearlessLeader19) Keighley Anders (Kolyander) “Detta är den sista lådan,’’ {“This is the last box.”} sixteen year old Charlie huffed out Keighley in Swedish, setting the white cardboard box containing his posters and assortment of trophies down carefully on the floor of his room. Not wanting to bother his mother, Char had traipsed his way up and down the stairs multiple times to retrieve his belongings from the living room where everything had all appeared when they had travelled by Portkey. And he was too much of a gentleman to let Keigh fetch any. At least he had his strong Beater arms working for him so things could have been worse than being slightly out of breath. Charlie pushed his hair from his face. “What do you want to start with?” he asked, gazing fondly at Keighley. True to his word last Christmas, he was letting her help him decorate his new room. |
When Charlie had told her that she could help him decorate him waaaay back during Christmas break, she believed him. And here Keighley was, standing in the middle of his brand new room in his new house while he brought up all the boxes. Not because she was lazy and didn't want to carry any but simply because HE wouldn't allow her to. Which in her opinion was quite silly as she was more than capable of carrying a couple of boxes up a flight of stairs. That wasn't important though, what was important here was the fact that Charlie was here now. He was here and no longer in Sweden. Hearing Charlie come into the room behind her, Keighley turned around to face him and smiled. Over the course of the year her Swedish had gotten much better, however she still understood it much better than she spoke it. "Do you need a break first? At least to catch your breath?" The blonde smiled warmly at him, crossing the room to a box filled with trophies. "It might be best to get these sorted first and then we can figure out where you want all your posters to go." |
In his defense, he preferred to lift the boxes anyway. His mother would strongly disapprove if he caught Keighley lifting any up the stairs. Charlie had figured that he’d give the girlfriend a little time to try to figure out where she wanted certain of his possessions to go. But yes. Him being much closer to Keighley now was so much more important. Thank the heavens his mother had taken the job here in the UK at that Observatory. Thank the heavens that she had wanted him to come along. Charlie would miss his father, his six siblings and life over in Sweden, however. He would miss his horse, Thunder. He would miss Durmstrang, the outdoor air of his home country and everything else. These were all grounds for him falling homesick if he wasn’t careful. Speaking to Keighley in Swedish had become second nature to him. She was such a quick learner that her knowledge of the language had only gotten stronger. Charlie was so proud of her. “I’m alright.” It was true; being a Beater, being on the rowing team and benign overall athletic had its perks. “Thank you for always caring.” Char moved close to Keigh and leaned in to kiss her cheek. Then he peered into the box of trophies. “Kolla på den här." {"Look at this one.”} He plucked a shiny silver cup about seven inches in height from the mix. “I got third place in an MMA competition. I think I was a first year at the time.” This would certainly interest Keigh. |
In his defense nothing. She was more than capable of carrying a few boxes up stairs to help him out and make the process go all that much quicker. If he had allowed her too. Surely his mum wouldn't have gotten too upset if Keigh told her that she really hadn't minded helping at all. Not that it mattered now anyhow, since all of the moving was already finished. She was going to get to partake in the fun part, unpacking. That sounded much easier to her anyhow. The more Charlie spoke to her in Swedish, the more she picked up on it. Especially if it was something that he said to her often. She liked getting to learn a new language and now that he was going to be around all of the time, hopefully she would learn even more. Alright, we can take a break after." It shouldn't take them too long to set up his room. The smile on her face was bright when he kissed her cheek but before she could do anything he was looking at his trophies and calling her over. "Whoa, look at you! Are you trying to show me up in competitions now?" There was a playful gleam in her blue eyes and a teasing tone in her voice. "Do you compete anymore?" Now he had her curious about this. Of course she wanted to know all the things when it came to him and sports. |
Of course his Little Sunflower was quite capable of carrying boxes up a flight of stairs. That doesn’t mean that she should be doing it. Char wouldn’t hear of it. Sorry, Keighley, if he agreed with his mother! Besides, he thought that she’d have more fun unpacking his belongings. It was just another way for her to get to know him better, by looking through his possessions. One of the best things about Keigh learning Swedish was that it meant they could converse in the language and he’d have someone else to talk to in his native tongue rather than just his mother. This way, he could share part of his heritage with the girl he loved. “Muggar varm choklad ropar mitt namn.” {“Cups of hot chocolate are calling my name.”} Rosemary Bergstrand had made sure to bring along toppings for that from Sweden. Keighley’s words made him laugh. “As if!’’ Char replied, his accent very evident. “You’re the real MMA champion.” That was something he meant rather seriously. Keigh and her MMA skills always impressed him. “No. I’m too focused on Quidditch. I do take part for recreation at Durmstrang. Did. take part..” Since he would now be transferring to Hogwarts for his sixth and seventh years. “Where do you think we should put this, and the others?” |
Did he know that he was ridiculous? Absolutely adorable but still.. ridiculous all the same. Keigh would let him have this win though. Mainly because she had been taking the time while he was bringing up all of the boxes to look around his room and familiarize herself with things. She was looking forward to a summer of speaking lots of Swedish. And having him correct her even more. "Did you just say something about hot chocolate to me?" There was a slight questioning look on her face but her smile never faded. If he was mentioning hot cocoa, she was all in. A faint blush spread across her cheeks at his words. "I'm not that good, Char. Not yet, anyways." What she wouldn't give to be an MMA champion but the time and dedication that would take was somewhat out of grasp for her right now. Her education came first. She nodded in understanding. "Well you can still take part in it if you want.. with me. For either recreation or my training." Or both. And in return she could help him with his Quidditch. Maybe. Okay, probably not but the offer was always there. As for the trophies they were meant to be putting around his room well.. the blonde took a second or two to look around once more. "Why don't we sort them all first? Group them together by sort and such so we can get a better idea of what you have and then we can see where they would look best?" That sounded like a good idea to her. |
He was just going to let that slide because yes, Charlie Bergstrand just might be a little ridiculous. But he was going to continue being this gentlemanly boy. It couldn’t be helped as he had been raised this way. Besides, the guy was more than happy to treat Keighley as she deserved - like a little princess. THe question made Charlie laugh heartily. But no, he wasn’t laughing at his girlfriend. “I did.’’ Sometimes he forgot she wasn’t that fluent in his mother tongue as yet. Oh, he did love her for trying so much though! “I said ‘cups of hot chocolate are calling my name.” That’s right. Multiple cups. When it came to that blush? It was the most adorable one he had ever seen. “Please don’t sell yourself short, Keigh,’’ Char said softly. “I’ve seen you at MMA; you’re amazing already. In my eyes, you’re the best.” He liked that offer and it was quickly accepted. “How about both? Bpth for training and for recreation? “That’s a good idea. Back in Sweden, I simply mixed Quidditch and MMA together but only sorted them out by colour: gold, bronze or silver.’’ Char gave his sunflower a sheepish glance then carefully took to unpacking the box. The Quidditch/Flying trophies outnumbered the MMA ones. Soon enough, there were a little more than a dozen trophies of different heights sitting in a neat line on his bed. “I also have a few plaques but those, of course, have to be hung on the wall.” And Charlie stood there trying to look modest about his accomplishments. |
Fine. Fine. Fiiiiiiiiiiiine. Keighley was going to let it all slide because he was Charlie. No reason other than that had to be given. If she was a princess than he was a prince. Done and done. His laughter whether it was directed at her or not made her smile. No, she wasn't fluent in Swedish yet but she was working hard towards it. "Cups, hm?" she giggled along with him now. "You sound just like Jude. He loved hot cocoa too.. but then again so do I." How could she not? It was the perfect drink during the winter! "Oh, Charlie, I'm not doing any such thing. I'm simply being honest with you and with myself. While I'm really good at my chosen sport I still have a really long way to go to become a champion at it." She wasn't selling herself short, only being honest. "Thank you for thinking so highly of me though and and I'd really love that." The more training she got to do, the better. "I can see how that would make things easier but.. I think it flows more neatly when it's separated?" Simply her opinion is all. Keigh watched him unpack each trophy and line them up on his bed her eyes wandered to each one, looking them all over in turn. A soft smile was sent his way as picked up the first one and moved it to where she thought it might look best in his room, followed by another and than another. "We can get all of those up on the wall as soon as we have these set out first?" This was his room so he could move anything that he wanted to if he didn't like where she was putting it. |
Someday they would upgrade from prince and princess to king and queen. This bit of information confirming Jude was something new to him. It was already known that Keighley loved hot chocolate; it was perhaps why his mind was so set on having a few cups. “I’ll keep that in mind about Jude,’’ Char remarked earnestly. Because he had already learnt that the Anders were rather close - something which he silently envied - and he wanted to know as much as possible about each of the family members. “I’ll make you how many cups you want, my little sunflower.’’ She'd always be his sunflower! Charlie was only telling it as he saw it: Keigh was amazing at MMA and he loved watching her. But he nodded, smiling softly. “I would like to think you have some activities planned for this summer then?” He’d like to attend all if possible! Keighley didn’t think he was showing off. This was good because this Bergstrand boy really and truly hated anyone doing such a thing so why would he? He simply watched as his girlfriend did her thing. He tilted his head, watching her every move. In actuality, his attention was more on her than where his possessions were being placed. “Mhm. I think so too.” What needed to be hung up? Right! The plaques. “We can do the posters afterwards.” Char grabbed two trophies and took them over to Keighley. “I have a huge one of Thunder. I really hope you can meet him someday.” |
If she had any clue that he was thinking anywhere along those lines she would be a squealing mess of blonde blushing Keighley. But OMG, yes please! Would love to be a Queen of her was her King. A soft smile formed on her lips. "He may very well like hot cocoa even more than I do." If that was possible. How often her and Jude sat together drinking cups of the warm beverage she did not know nor did she think there was anyone that wanted to count that high. "One cup would be perfect for now, Char." She didn't want to get in over her head and hype herself up on chocolate. Or maybe she did? "Yes, most of them I sign myself up for every year. When I'm home I try to get as much MMA training in as I can." The sport was very important to her but so was spending time with him and Liv. Not in the slightest. He worked hard for all of his trophies and plaques. Keigh thought he should be proud of them. She knew that she was extremely proud of what she won. Each trophy was placed in a spot and when she was finished, the blonde stepped back to take a look at it all. "That sounds fine to me then." Oh, he had more trophies? How had she missed those? With a little giggle she took them from him and found a nice spot for each one with the others. "What do you think?" She thought it looked good but this was his room after all. "I would love to meet him. Someday we'll travel to Sweden together." When she wasn't sure but she knew it would happen. |
Charlie was at least grateful that he could always discuss hot chocolate with Jude. The two got along just fine, anyway, but it was always an excellent thing to have mutual grounds, was it not? Hot chocolate for him wasn’t just something he could have in the winter; it was an all-year-round thing for him. “Okay, we can go grab one in a few. You’re going to love the toppings but you’ll fall in love even more with them during the Christmas holidays because it’s the Bergstrand family tradition to make hot chocolate with toppings that are red and green. My siblings and I always have a great time picking those out at the shops.” As they continued the talk of MMA, Charlie couldn’t help but ask, “What about when you’re at Hogwarts? Is there anyone you practice with?” Truthfully, Charlie wasn’t paying much attention to where exactly his girlfriend was putting the trophies. His gaze was mainly on her; he always loved admiring her features. Maybe it was just him but he thought she was even more beautiful when she was focusing on a task and she was unaware she was being observed. Char did snap out of it when she asked about her handiwork though. “I think… I knew there was a reason why I suggested you do my room’s decoration!” Oh yes. A Sweden trip was down in the books for them. “He’ll love you as much as I love you,’’ Charlie remarked. “You haven’t got a fear of horses?” He was thinking they could go horseback riding together. |
That was one thing that made Keighley really happy, Charlie got along with her siblings. Both Reagan and Jude didn't have anything bad to say about him. Really there was no reason for them not to, he was wonderful. Athletic, funny, sweet. A lot like herself but also different. The perfect pair is what they were! "Whenever you're ready, I'm in no rush. The toppings? Red and green?" This here was when she tipped her head to the side and looked at him questioningly but with the cutest smile still on her face. She was all about the yummy toppings. "I do.. but it's not constant. Lia, Tad and his brother Axel are the three people I practice with the most when they aren't too busy." Isn't one to nag others to practice with her all of the time so tends to practice alone unless she knows one of them is also practicing or they ask her first. Oh, precious Charlie. There was going to be plenty of moments for him to simply watch her without her knowledge because at times she could be completely oblivious to all things around her when she was focused on something. And then.. there was going to be times where she was going to be the one that wouldn't be able to take her eyes off of him. Like the day they had first met in person. Merlin he had been everything she had expected him to be and so much more. "So it's okay then? You don't want to change anything?" He could move around anything he wanted. And there is was, her cheeks flaming red and the biggest internal squealing a young teen girl could do without making a complete fool of herself. The smile on her face was bright at his words but she still hadn't been able to say them out loud herself yet. No, I'm not afraid of them." With all the creatures she had been around before, horses thankfully weren't ones that scared her. |
‘A perfect couple’ was how Charlie liked to think of him and Keighley together too. It really did go a long way that her family liked him {even if her father sometimes gave him suspicious looks} and that his own parents liked Keigh. Someday, he hoped she could meet all his siblings. What a huge family gathering it would be when both of their families got together! “It wasn’t my idea,’’ he told her with a laugh. “The older siblings started it when I was a toddler, I think. Still, I look forward to that tradition each year.” Char eyed Keigh thoughtfully. “I wouldn’t mind helping out when we’re at Hogwarts then.” Ah, that first meeting. Char could quite clearly remember that first meeting; it was a memory which he doubted would ever fade from his memory. He had been quite enamored with Keighley as he was now. “No, it’s all perfect!’’ Like she was. Char didn’t mind that she hadn’t said those words back to him as yet; the boy was more than happy to keep reminding her that he loved her, however. There was a fond smile when it became obvious she was blushing {even more than usual, in his opinion}. “That’s great! You’ll have a great time. Here.” He fished out a rolled up poster of Thunder. “This is him.” Quite the handsome horse Thunder was. |
Yessssssssss! Charlie understand. He got it. They were PERFECT together and that was that. She loved that her family liked him and yes, she saw the way her father looked at him at times but that's because he's protective.. like every other person in her family. And he still had a ton of people in her family left to meet. As she had a bunch of his she still hadn't had the chance to meet yet either. One day it would happen though.. and oh, what a day that would be! "That sounds like fun though! What type of toppings are your favorite?" Don't mind her being all curious-like already. A warm smile spread across her face at his offer. "I'd really like that a lot." A lot, a lot. More than he could know. How could either of them forget that day? It had been filled with smiles, laughter and the two of them staring at each other. By far it was one of her favorite memories. Keigh smiled brightly at Charlie when he said everything was perfect. As long as he liked it all, she was happy. "Of course I will. You'll be there too." Anytime they spent together she had a great time. There was a slightly tilt of her head and a curious look in her blue eyes as she took the poster and unrolled it. "Ohhh, now I really can't wait to meet him!" What a handsome horse! |
Char didn’t need to think about that answer. “Pepparkakor,’’ he said promptly, his Swedish accent more pronounced when the word left his lips. “It literally means ‘pepper cakes’ because the Swedish people from ages and ages ago used pepper in them. Now, we use ginger so I suppose you can say it's similar to gingerbread cookies.” Char paused thoughtfully. “I think we brought some of those along. I know for sure we brought the traditional Swedish cookies. That, possibly, is equal to sugar cookies.” He grinned, feeling the need to explain why there were so many cookies in his house. “Mum is quite fond of cookies. It has nothing to do with me liking to use them as toppings.” Okay, maybe it did, but just a hint. “We could work out something a few days of the week,’’ Charlie suggested, pleased that his offer had been taken up. “I mean, if you don’t get too busy.” He just really, really wanted her to practice as much as she was able to so that someday she’d be the very best. The boy was inclined to agree: any time they spent together was a great time. “I will be.” Did he ever want to go anywhere with his Little Sunflower? No, this smitten young man didn’t. The poster was unfurled and handed over. “He’s a very good reason for you to get your Apparation License,’’ came the light tease. |
Flail!!! That accent. It was the cutest thing ever and she could listen to it all day. Listen to him all day. Keigh always hung on his every word, especially when he went and spoke Swedish to her. It was a good thing her Char always explained things to her, since she had no clue what a Pepparkakor was. A cookie? Similar to gingerbread cookies. As a topping for hot cocoa? Okay, but like.. did he had any clue what he was doing right now? If it was even a quarter as good as he says it was, he might already be creating a monster. "Cookies as toppings? That's all I needed to hear." She was going to have to try this as soon as possible, please and thanks. I'll always make time for you, Char. And I know I'm not nearly as good as you but if you need any help with Quidditch or anything I'd be happy to do what I can." The more chances she had to spend time with him, she was going to take them. Keigh giggled at the teasing. "Mm' I'll be sure to get right on that as soon as I'm able to. Though you can get yours before I can." Yup, there she went pointing out that he was older than she was but a little bit. |
Then Keighley had better hope that he didn’t lose his accent over the course of years he resided in the United Kingdom. But if Charlie were to seriously think about it, he would say that there was no chance of him doing so; Sweden would always be his home, his accent would always be an integral part of him. Char laughed yet again {honestly, he did that so much with his girlfriend} when Keighley mentioned the toppings. “I’ll just have to spoil you with all the cookie toppings then!” Did she know how much he appreciated her for always being so interested in his life? Yes, indeed. This young man knew how much Keighley made time for him; it was something he admired about her. It could not be easy juggling him, Olivia, her family, friends and MMA practice. Yet Keighley was always so bouncy and sunshiney. How did she even do it? It was another one of those aspects of her that made her attractive. “I’ll take you up on that offer.” Charlie smiled softly. “Maybe you can help me practice by bewitching regular balls to hurtle at me? That way I can practice being a better Beater. Speaking of… Hogwarts has a proper Quidditch Pitch still, yes?” It was known that the Inter House Quidditch matches were no longer a thing. Grabbing some thumb tacks from a small container, Charlie climbed onto his bed to set about getting Thunder’s poster up onto the wall above the bed. “Help, please?” If Keigh could just hold the poster in place? “Now I have twice the reason for wanting to get that license!” |
If that accent of his even wavered slightly throughout the years, they may very well have to consider a move to Sweden. She was much too in love with it. That laughter, it was pure music to her ears. Her smile never faded when she was with him, for how could it, when he made her feeling nothing short of pure happiness all of the time. "Consider me more than happy to eat every single one." Not it was her turn to laugh. If he knew enough about her, and she was sure that he did, he would know she wasn't fibbing with that statement. She would willing participate in the consumption of all the cookie toppings! In her mind, she was the lucky one. In all honesty, the blonde would've chalked it down to genetics but as of the last year or so.. even she wasn't so sure. A ray of sunshine was what she was. Even on her worst days, she did everything she could to remain positive and make those around her smile along with her. "I can't wait." Really, she was looking forward to it. "What you feel is best, is what we'll do. Yes, we still have a pitch to practice in." Which she was more than thankful for now since both Liv and Charlie needed it for practicing. Keigh watched Char with a smile, slipping off her shoes before stepping up onto his bed beside him so that she could hold the poster in place. "That's what I'm here for," she laughed. "Oooooor you can wait and we can get it together." Cue the sweetest smile from her. No, she didn't expect him to wait for her. She was simply teasing him. |
Move to Sweden? Now there’s something that Char would not object to, providing that Keighley would be fully on board. He found it easy to make her smile and vice versa. He guessed they were just too happy in each other’s company to be bothered about anything else. Though… there wasn’t anything in their relationship or otherwise that would make them sad or anxious. What a cute laugh Keigh had! Why was everything about her one hundred percent perfection? “I’ll make a note and stick it on the fridge as a reminder that mom’ll have to restock on them the next time she Apparates home then.” See? That was an easy fix! Char was in love with the way he and Keigh made suggestions for each other to better themselves, the way they worked it all out to ensure they followed up with the suggestions as much as he was in love with her. “That’s what we can start with. Excellent! I reckon there are still Flying classes then?” Once the poster was held in place, Char easily stuck tacks in the four corners. There! Now he sort of had Thunder with him. “I could but…” The boy jumped down from the bed back to the floor then held out a hand to help Keighley down. “I want to be able to see my family whenever I want, as soon as I can…” She understood, ja? {yes?} |
Moving to Sweden was something Keigh would absolutely do. Several things would play into a move like that of course but none of it meant that she wouldn't at least very much consider it. They would be in total agreement on that thought, she had no reason to be sad or anxious or anything but happy where Charlie was concerned. "Now that would be amazing and I'll be thrilled to sample any and all cookies that come my way." Cue the brightest smile from her. Keighley would be lying if she said she wasn't in love with everything that had to do with this boy. There was a connection with him that couldn't be denied and she was positive that now that he was living here, it was only going to grow stronger. "That's okay with me." Nod nod. Whatever he wanted to do. "Yes but after first and second year we don't actually have to attend. I do though." She enjoyed flying and it was helping her get better as much as Charlie's lessons last summer had helped her. Now that Thunder was up on the wall (his poster that is!), Keigh turned to take Charlie's offered hand and hopped down off of the bed. "I know, Char. I was teasing. There's no way I would expect you to wait for me to be old enough." She wasn't that silly. |
This would definitely make for a good discussion topic in the future. Char already knew that there was a strong possibility that he would be bringing it up when the time was right. Though he hadn’t given much thought on what Keighey’s reaction might be, he knew her well enough to reason that she would at least give his idea a try. Char laughed for what seemed to be the millionth time {no, he was not getting tired of it}. “I think my mother would be thrilled that you want to. She already likes that you’re taking to the Swedish culture.” With practice for him now out of the way, Char focused on Flying lessons at Hogwarts. “Really? That’s interesting. I’ll be going to every one of them, of course.” It only occurred to him then that Keigh possibly attended the lessons partially because Olivia would be as well. But then he felt silly and he showed this by grinning sheepishly. “I’m sorry. I just miss them, that’s all.” That was why his six siblings and father were on his mind. “Want to go get hot chocolate now? I’ve had enough of decorating for now.” |
One day down the line, sometime in the future, they would have to sit down and discuss many things. Universities, career paths, traveling about for those careers, where they might live one day and so much more! However right now, Keigh was still young and she didn't want to overwhelm herself more than necessary. "Well I want to know all there is to know about you and that is a big part of it." Plus she had mentioned before her plans on traveling around and learning about other cultures. "Uh-huh. It's more of an elective after that. I think it's because so many aren't overly interested in it." She was however, even more so since both Char and Liv play Quidditch. The better of a flier she was, the more comfortable she felt about all the different tricks and things they did while out on the pitch. Keighley smiled, hugging him tightly right then. "You have no reason to be sorry. Of course you miss them all." She understood completely. Being away from the ones you love is very hard. The mention of hot cocoa made her smile and she nodded up at him. "Hot cocoa is always the best reason for a break." |
There would be so many topics to discuss indeed. These weren’t something that Char would be hesitant to bring up. If anything had been proven during the course of the time they knew each other, it was just how well they were able to talk things out rationally. “That makes me happy. You make me happy,’’ he told Keigh softly. Yet again, there was enormous gratitude in him that Reagan had introduced Keigh to him. An elective made sense. “Then that shall be my elective,’’ Charlie declared with certainty. Or one of his electives, since there were bound to be more for him to decide upon. There was another grin on his face now. “I’ll get to see how much you’ve improved on loops.” Charlie was also looking forward to showing her more tricks on a broomstick if Keigh was up to it. If there was one thing that this boy could count on, it was her understanding him. This was why they could talk about anything. “Okay, let’s go!” Char tugged on her hand, leading her out of the room. |
If any of their previous discussions stood proof of anything, it was that all of their future discussions should be a breeze. There had already been many conversations that made her smile, laugh and cry.. each one had taken it's tole on the two of them and strengthened their relationship. Keighley smiled up at him. "You make me happy," came her immediate reply. They were perfection. She giggled softly. "Of course it would be. I didn't expect you to choose anything else." If she had, some serious questioning would've happened right then. "Oh, I've gotten better at loops.. I don't try to strangle the broom anymore." Cue more gentle laughter. "Whoa! Someone really wants some hot cocoa!" Grinning at Char, Keigh gave his hand a squeeze as she let herself be tugged along. |
“I plan on continuing to keep you happy,’’ Char replied in Swedish. If Keigh wasn’t able to fully understand his words, she could always tell him; he’d be happy to translate and use the moment as a teaching opportunity to add some more of the Swedish language to her vocabulary. All this planning for Hogwarts was making him excited to actually commence his education at the School. “You know me too well.” There was now pure delight written upon Charlie’s features. “You have? I’m so proud of you! This means you have to show me your moves sometime soon.” Charlie tried not to laugh too much at the memory of Keighley trying to kill his broomstick. “I’m mainly excited for you to try all the toppings,’’ came Char’s correction to her words. In a few minutes, Keigh would be doing exactly that! December 2109 is upon them. Jude really wants to talk to Keighley about something very important, and is waiting anxiously for her to descend from the fifth year girls’ dorms. Characters: Jude Anders (FearlessLeader19) Keighley Anders (Kolyander) Jude was full out draped across an armchair by the fireplace in the Hufflepuff Common Room. It was Sunday, the day after he had spent practically the entire day in Hogsmeade, the day that a realisation had practically leapt out of him. It was a good realisation, one that warmed his heart. One that had made him have a restless night of sleep. So, here he was at six in the morning, fully showered already and trying to keep himself distracted with Ned. His feline companion was resting on Jude’s stomach in that ‘loaf’ form that cats seemed to love. “There’s a chance she’ll sleep in today, Ned,’’ the seventh year warily told Ned. As a matter of fact, every Hufflepuff might be doing just that. Every Puff but him. |
Not every word Charlie spoke right then was picked up on but Keighley got the jest of it and her cheeks flushed brightly to show that she most certainly understood him. Would be thrilled if he taught her even more Swedish! Maybe while they sat down and enjoyed their hot cocoa? "Uh-huh! It's taken me lots of practice but I can't wait to show you what I've learned!" She may have learned quite a bit from her flying lessons at Hogwarts but also from Olivia as well. Keighley smiled brightly at him. "Not as excited as I am!" Cue some very happy little bouncing along as she followed right beside him the entire way to the kitchen! Noooooooow it might be Sunday and it may very well be extremely early for most of Hogwarts population but just like her older brother, Keighley Anders was awake. Barely, but she was. So there she was clad in reindeer pajamas with matching slippers, making her way to the common room. No shame! Straight for one of the armchairs she went only to find that it was occupied. By Jude. "Scoot over," she whispered by way of greeting.. not that there was much room for him to scoot over to. |
Keighley never had to worry for she ALWAYS looked cute and adorable no matter what she wore. No, this was just big brother talk; it was one of the biggest facts EVER. Jude’s face lit up with a delighted smile when he saw her descend the stairs and made her way to him. “Am I supposed to shrink myself first?’’ he questioned in reply but still doing his best to flatten himself against the back of the armchair. In the process, Ned was jostled which caused the cat to meow loudly with indignation. “Sorry, Ned! Just… a little… more repositioning.” There! The boy had managed to keep his feet across the arms and there was some space for Keigh after some shifting. “Have at it.’’ Jude patted the chair. “Lean against me if you want.” Merlin knows Keigh did that often enough with him; it was something he liked, anyway. “Why are you up so early?” |
On most days, she would agree with this. This early in the morning, looking the way she was right now.. well.. it was, what it was. Despite how sleepy she still was right than and it was a fair bit, if she was being honest, a smile broke out onto her own face when she saw the one on Jude's. How could she not? Those smiles of his were contagious! Just like Olivia and Charlie's were! "Nah-uh.. all I need is a smidgen of space, it's not like I'm thaaaaaaat bit," came her soft whispered reply. Oops, sorry Ned. She would make it up to him. Without wasting any time at all, Keigh sat herself down in what little space had been made for her on the chair, shifting so she was somewhat on her side and bringing her legs up over the arm of the chair beside Jude's. After a brief moment of squirming around to make sure she wouldn't fall, she leaned her head lightly against her brothers shoulder like she did often. "I guess I just couldn't sleep anymore." That happened sometimes, now matter how tired she actually was. Reaching over she gently rubbed Ned behind messed up ear. |
True. The baby Anders’ wasn’t big at all. She was tiny though Jude was certain at one point Keighley would catch up with Reagan’s five foot three inches frame. Ned meowed quite mournfully at Keighley as though the cat were debating on whether to accept her apology or not. Jude patted the furbaby’s head while wondering if he and Keigh should just magically extend the armchair. That thought came to an abrupt end when the girl wedged herself beside him. Jude in turn extracted the arm between the two to place around her shoulders. Comfy. This was super comfy! “Well, I’m kind of glad to hear that. I need to talk to you about something.” Because Keighley was usually the first person Jude confided in. Not only did she always keep his secrets until he was ready to reveal them himself but she also offered great advice. Wise, his baby sister was. “Um… so yesterday I met up with Evan at the Three Broomsticks. It was so nice to catch up with him. I missed him more than I thought, honestly.” The Hufflepuff hadn’t yet gotten used to being at Hogwarts with the bestie. “Remember how I told you that I hoped us being a part of the year would help me get over him? It didn’t work. I still love him as much. But…” He shook his head, wondering why his love life had gotten complicated. Wasn’t it enough that he had unrequited feelings for Evan? “Seeing him made me realise that I feel the same way each time I see Davet. The anticipation of seeing him after being at Hogwarts for months, how I’m always eager for each of our dates, the warm, fuzzy way I feel watching him on stage… all of it tells me that I’ve fallen for him too.” Jude fell silent now, letting Keigh - and Ned - process. |
Hey, now! She was getting bigger each and every single day, thank you very much! Why everyone liked to think she was so tiny was beyond her. And yes, yes Ned should accept her apology because she always gave him lots of cuddle time and she let him lay with her whenever liked annnnnnnd she gave him the nicest ear scrunches too. All very good reasons if she did say so herself. Once Keigh had gotten herself all snuggled up on the arm chair beside Jude, she rested her arm over brother for several reasons. Cuddles. Those were always the best reason. To help keep her from slipping off of the chair. And to give Ned pets more easily. He was welcome. Now what was it they needed to talk about? "I'm all ears." Whatever he wanted to talk to her about had to be important if it had him up and wanting to talk so early this morning. Evan. Right. The Huffle wasn't going to comment until he was completely finished talking annnnnnd was she every thrilled that she hadn't interrupted him! "Juuuuuuuuuuuuude!!!...." she whispered flailed, wiggling about slightly in excitement and giving him a small nudge. The smile on her face was huge and she would've been squishing him had it not been for Ned laying where he was. She was soooooo happy for him! |
In Jude’s eyes, Keigh would remain tiny, okay? Probably it had to do with the fact that he associated her smolness to being the baby of the Anders’ family. With regard to Ned, the cat definitely forgave Keighley for he held a paw out on her arm then closed his eyes, as though he were about to drift away for another nap. Just watching made Jude feel so much at peace. Cuddles were always welcome. In fact, it was a thing between Jude and Keigh. His sister was a cuddle pro! Said sister really was all ears, and Jude really was glad that she listened without interruption; he wanted to get his entire situation out there. He was also quite willing to sit there in silence while she processed but he was wrong about that latter bit: clearly Keigh was super happy and excited for him. That much was gathered from her reaction. A slow grin creeped up on his face, her enthusiasm clearly rubbing off on him. But there was one burning thing he needed to know: “How do you cope with being in love with two persons at once? I mean, I get that my situation is not exactly the same as yours because Olivia and Charlie love you back.” So basically… HELP? |
Wellllllllllll, Keigh supposed she could look at it that way too. There would be no way around changing that fact. She would always be the baby of the family. Ned's little paw resting upon her arm told her all that she needed to know, she was forgiven. Such a sweet loving cat he was. Serious talks were no joke. There was no messing about being done. Everything Jude said to her, had to be heard. Processed. Understood. Otherwise she was of no real use to him other than simple emotional support. And while that was perfectly fine, what she really wanted was to be able to help him in some way. "First things first.. let it be known that as soon as I can manage it without being attacked by Ned, you are getting squished." This was said with the brightest of smiles and a small giggle. They could get back to a chat on that later. It seemed they had something else to talk about first. "Umm, very very careful?" she grinned at her brother in a playful manner hoping to ease the mode a little. "It's complicated, some days are much easier than easier. As you know basically everything when it comes to the two of them is kept separate. Yes, I love them both and they love me.. but.. they don't love one another. So that does complicate things for myself and for them." Her situation may not be the same as Jude's and she did consider herself very luck that Olivia and Charlie felt the same for her as she did for them but it still wasn't easy at all."No, really though Jude.. like mama and papa always say.. the heart wants who it wants. We don't get to pick and choose who we fall in love with but we can leave our hearts open to give others a chance." |
Squishes? Yes, please! Jude nodded. “Deal!” he told Keigh, automatically lowering his voice because he didn’t want to disturb his little furbaby. Admittedly, the squishes would also help him to feel immensely better, it could be a remedy to his clouded mind. He smiled at his sister because he suddenly wasn’t in the mood to grin. Now that his questions were out there, he was rather anxious about going forward. Perhaps this was why Jude latched onto each of Keigh’s words as though his life depended on them {then again, it probably was}. There were nods on his part at intervals as she explained. “I guess my situation does seem lighter compared to yours, huh? With regard to Evan not loving me back, I mean. Then again, if he had, then I wouldn’t have ended up dating Davet and… hang on.” A new thought hit him as though he had run into a brick wall. “Does being with Davet seem as though I only am with him because of that? I mean, does it seem like he’s my backup option?” There was a certain panic to his voice, one that Ned surely picked up on because the cat cracked his eyelids and peeked up at him. Never mind Keighley’s words reminding him about what their parents said. Jude hadn’t processed those fully as yet due to his new icky thoughts. “I don’t want him to think that I want to be with him because I can’t be with Evan.” Oh Merlin! How had this not occurred to him before?! :faint: |
Yes. Lots of squishes. Keighley squishes. Which were the best because everyone knew that Badgers gave the best squishes. "Like I was going to give you a choice anyhow." His sweet precious little sister smiled innocently at him, her eyes sparkly playfully. Squishes and cuddles were one of the ways she showed how much she cared about her people. Deep talks such as these could be tough at times but there was no one better than to have them with than Jude. And Reagan but sadly she graduated already. "No, that isn't what I mean. It's different is all. Evan not feeling the same is rough, Jude. I never ever want to see you go through anything like that again." Jude hadn't been the same for so long and he was finally getting back on his feet and doing alright again. ... What?! No. She hadn't said that at all. Where is he getting this from now? The smallish blonde shifted very careful but quickly and clapped a hand over her brothers mouth. "Hey. No. Shush. Jude Anders don't you dare. You and I both know better than that.. come on now. You would never ever do such a thing and Davet is the sweetest guy around, he knows you truly like him and wouldn't do that." UGH! Boys were complicated sometimes. |
Mmmm. This big brother could not deny that Keighley gave the best squishes. She had been squishing him since they were tiny and he had always adored them. And yes, he already had suspected that Keigh wasn’t going to give him any choice in the matter. This wasn’t something that he had an issue with. Not now, not ever. Oh yeah. No one needed to remind him about Evan and those feelings. Jude lived with the not-so-fully-healed scars everyday. He rarely spoke about it, and when he did, it was only to Keighley. His sister was so sweet for looking out for him; her words meant a lot. To show he appreciated them, the seventh year gently bopped his head against hers. "I love you." He never wanted to go through that sort of thing again either. Jude doubted he’d be able to recover a second time around. Keighley hadn’t said that, true but his brain… well, it just took off. And so did his mouth, as the thoughts tumbled out. Thankfully Keighley put an end to the latter. The words sounded awful to his ears. This overthinking that he had developed in the last year and a half really took a toll on him at times. "Breathe," he told himself, allowing his chest to expand. That breath was held for five seconds before he exhaled. The steps were repeated for a few more times, his eyes fixed on Ned. When he felt calmer, he nodded his head to indicate that he was okay and that Keigh could remove her hand. As a matter of fact, he half heartedly tried to bite her palm. |
Keigh wasn't going to be the one to do any reminding here. She knew what he had gone through, what he was still dealing with each and every single day. There wasn't any way she would willing bring forth any pain unto him. So Evan was generally not mentioned until it was by Jude himself. "I love you too." Came the soft whispered reply of one Keighley Anders as her own head gently leaned to the side to remain resting against his. Light blue eyes never left his face as she watched him take slow breaths and let them out again. She knew exactly what he was doing and during this time, nothing more was said. When he nodded his head and there was an attempt.. a pathetic one but she will count it, to bite her hand, she took her hand from his mouth. "Better?" she asked softly, giving him the tiniest of smiles. Whether he was or wasn't didn't matter, either way she would be right here at his side. |
Jude actually had noticed this: the fact that Keigh never brought up Evan unless he did. It was something Reagan did too, but it was okay since he knew they were only looking out for him. His sister’s words and closeness brought him comfort as it always did. Oh yes, yours too, Ned! Jude could never forget about his itty bitty furbaby! “Better.” While the confirmation was true, Jude knew it would take a little longer to be fully himself again. It was funny how easily one’s mood could be disrupted sometimes thanks to awful thoughts. The smile was returned, even if it wasn’t the usual wide one. “I think I want to tell him. Dav, I mean. That I love him.” Because this was important to Jude, and it was more important that the boyfriend know how he felt. The worst that could happen was that Davet would break his heart too, right? |
As his sister she wasn't going to do anything to upset him unnecessarily. Therefore she felt no need in bringing things up when there was no reason to do so. There when it came to certain topics her mouth remained closed unless it brought up by him first. And if it was, well then she was more then willing to talk about whatever it was he needed to talk about. "Good, keep it that way." Keighley lightly poked Jude in the chest. For as long as it took to get him back to his usual self, she would be right here to help him. "If you feel like you're ready to tell him.. then you should tell him. Being honest is super important and no matter what happens I'm always going to be right here for you." So Davet better not mess this up otherwise he will have a very angry Keighley to answer to. |
She was always so thoughtful, this younger and wise girl beside him. It was only a fraction of the reason why he loved her so much. Anyway, he followed her lead by not mentioning Evan and by focusing on that most important question he had just asked. The Hufflepuff could not help but chuckle when he was poked. He retaliated by playfully trying to grab the offending finger. Keigh’s words were considered. His other hand brushed over Ned’s furry head. In return, the cat closed his eyes; clearly Ned was happy and content now with the head rubs. Was he ready to take the risk? The memory of that day in the park some summers ago still haunted him vividly. Yet, Jude sensed that this time would be different. “I think I am. I’ve got this good feeling about telling him, the more I think about it. I mean… I know he really likes me. And he’s always so patient and understanding with my feelings…” Without realising it, Jude genuinely began to smile again. Yep, talking about Davet did that to him. As did a supportive sister. “I know you will be. Regardless of the outcome we’ll have sleepovers and movie dates this Christmas.” Much like they had done that time he’d gotten his heart ripped to shreds. |
The most thoughtful that there was. She got it from her big brother. Or perhaps their parents but still it was something Jude taught her as well. Among numerous other things. The list was truly very long. Gasp! With her finger now captured, the blonde stared at her brother with big puppy dog eyes. She had done nothing wrong! "Then do it. It'll be alright. He really likes you a whole lot." Keighley had been witness to the way the two young men looked at one another. If anything went young, not that she believed something would, she would be right there anyhow. Always. "We better. You won't be getting out of our sleepovers and movie dates." Jude Anders would always be having those with his wonderful little sister for as long as they could manage them. |
He might have unknowingly taught Keighley to be thoughtful but Jude had gotten the trait from their parents. Grinning slightly reluctantly, he squeezed his sister’s finger once before hooking his index finger around hers. The older Hufflepuff knew that Davet liked him but Keigh’s declaration only served to increase his confidence. Heck, Jude suddenly wished he could confess his feelings right now to Davet but sending a letter wasn’t the way he wanted to go about doing things. No, this confession would happen in a few days when they were out for the Christmas break. “Let’s not forget Rea too. I think she’d disown us if we left her out.” Jude already felt bad for pushing her away when things had been bad with him. He had learnt his mistake and promised himself never to do it again. But it sounded like the upcoming holidays were going to be the best yet. He snuggled Keigh again, and offered Ned another pet. All was right with the world again. |
If one truly thought about it it, it was easy to see that was a trait that was passed through their family. Luckily it didn't seem to skip over anyone at all, not that Keighley seemed to notice anyhow. With her index finger now hooked lightly around Jude's, she simply held onto it for what was likely going to be quite some time so she hoped that he was indeed comfortable. "She need not worry, she won't be left out." Reagan was going to be included in all of the things least they both end up suffering from her wrath and Keigh wasn't about to deal with with that during her holidays. Any and all snuggles from her big brother were more than happily accepted. This was very nice. Night of the End of Term Feast 2110. Keighley and Jude talk about how sad Keighley really is that Jude is graduating and moving out over the summer and going off to university. Characters: Jude Anders (FearlessLeader19) Keighley Anders (Kolyander) Keighley didn't really waste any time when the feast was over in returning to their common room. There was a whole lot of chatter from her peers about the upcoming summer break that began the following day but she really didn't want to hear anymore about it. She had tried her hardest to be as upbeat as she could while at the feast, smiling and laughing along with everyone else but it was over now and there wouldn't be anymore with Jude. Making a beeline for one of the armchairs near the fireplace, Keigh grabbed a blanket off one of the couches as well and sat down. Curling up beneath the blanket she sat there quietly, lost completely in her own thoughts. |
Sitting at the Hufflepuff table that evening during his final feast, it had finally dawned upon him that there was more bothering Keigh than just his graduation. He wasn’t sure what that was just yet because he had been too busy mentally chiding himself for not seeing it earlier. Given the fact that there was so much conversation happening, the Headmaster’s speech, eating and more conversation after, Jude hadn’t gotten the chance to prod Keighley about what was up. Even after the Feast, she had made such an escape that Jude had become alarmed. He hastily told Dafydd that he’d be up to their dorm shortly before seeking out the baby Anders. Jude found her curled up on an armchair, recognising her from her familiar mop of hair. The young man silently perched on the arm nearest to Keigh’s feet. Reaching under the blanket, he tickled her feet to get her attention. |
In her hopes that everyone would be so full from the feast that they would go straight up to their dorms, Keighley completely overlooked the fact that Jude would never do that which he knew something was up with her. Which knowing her big brother would give her maybe about a whole five or so minutes to herself before he came joining her. Not that she minded it, in fact she wanted him right here with her. The problem with this though was, he can't always be here, not anymore when he just graduated and they were returning home in the morning. As lost in her thoughts as she was, the blonde caught sight of someone sitting down on the arm of the chair. This much she expect. What she didn't expect however was.. for him to tickle her feet. There was an instant reaction of her flailing and trying to get her feet away followed by some light playful kicks at him.. nothing at all that would hurt him before she dropped her legs down on his lap since he wanted to be there. Sad blue eyes looked over at him. Was he planning on staying there or was he gonna sit with her and give cuddles? |
Girls, right? They wanted you there but at the same time they wanted time for themselves to stew. Apparently this applied to sisters too, and not only to girlfriends {not that he’d had any experiences there or ever would} or friends who were girls. Jude’s who focus right now was on his younger sister. For sure he had quite an enjoyable time watching her flail and even kick at him. So much so that he was actually chuckling. It was only when Keigh looked up at him with those sad eyes did his smile fade. Jude slid down the arm of the chair and onto the seat, leaving her feet in his lap. For now, he’d just sit there rubbing at Keigh’s little feet silently. He’d let her speak when she was ready. |
Excuse him. Big brothers had their moments too. If Keigh recalled correctly there had been many times when he had wanted to be alone and she had left him be until he was ready for all the many many cuddles and squishes she had been able to give afterwards. Along with soft chats and tears. At any other time the blonde wouldn't have been bothered by Jude's laughter. In fact she would've joined in and flailed all the more, maybe even trying to tickle him back at some point. This evening was NOT one of those times. She was very much not at all in the mood for this. Keigh didn't stop Jude from moving to join her on the seat but she hadn't expect him to rub her feet. The teen allowed it for a few short brief moments before she sat up, shifting herself around so she could collapse into her brothers side, wrapping both of her arms around him and tucking her face into his shoulder. Don't mind her while she sat here like this for a bit. Maybe if she held onto him tightly enough he couldn't leave her. |
Okay, okay. Keighley had a point. There were definitely those times when Jude needed to process his emotions and preferred to do so alone. He would forever be grateful that she would always respect his wishes. Leigh was the most understanding sibling; no hard feelings to Ko and Rea. Jude knew that things were even more worrisome when the baby sister did not join in with her own laughter. His insides went cold and the beginnings of anxiety touched him. He kept his gaze focused on her when she moved, all through when she shifted against his side and hugged him. Jude did some fidgeting of his own until an arm of his was around her. Peering down at her head {since her face was hidden against his shoulder}, he asked, “What’s wrong, Keigh?” |
Sometimes she managed to get her point across. Now happened to be one of those times. Not that it really mattered. Everyone needed space every once in awhile. Just like everyone needed someone to hold onto each now and again. Right now happened to be one of those times where this here blonde needed someone to hold onto. That someone being Jude. And she wasn't only going to hold onto him, she was clinging, her fingers slowly tangling themselves into the fabric of his robes as she attempted to wiggle herself even closer now that his arm was wrapped around her. How could he not know what was wrong? "That was your last feast.." she mumbled sadly. His last feast ever here at Hogwarts. His last feast here with her. |
It was quite clear, to Jude and it would be to anyone looking in from the outside, that indeed Keighley needed to hold onto, someone to keep her afloat from all that was bothering her. Jude was rather concerned given all the clinging and wiggling but he clamped down on allowing his worrying to zoom off at an incredible speed. He patiently allowed his sister to adjust herself to her likeness. It was as he suspected, this was about his graduation. “It was,’’ Jude replied calmly, but more sad about Keigh being upset that the Feast actually being his last. “I wish it wasn’t for your sake. It’s going to be a huge change not being around you so often from September.” Jude knew they both would need time to adjust to this. “But that’s not the only thing bothering you, is it?” he continued as he stroked Keigh’s arm. |
If anyone happened to see the two of them right then, the youngest Anders might not have even noticed. That's how in her own head she was right now. This moment with her brother was much needed, probably a lot more than anyone else could know. So should anyone have said anything, it may have even made her cry. Thankfully it was only the two of them and Jude never minded her clinging to him. She had five years of being Jude's little shadow while he was at Hogwarts. Five years that he never once complained about. There had been time to prepare herself for this, all year in fact but now the time was here and it was crushing. "I don't like it." Next year was going to be really strange when he was sitting there beside her at the Hufflepuff table. "What am I meant to do without you here next year?" She had Livvy and Char but it wasn't the same. Sorry but it wasn't. "You're leaving home too.." Now she would be all alone. |
Jude was quite certain by now that the entire Hogwarts population knew that he and Keighley were super close as siblings. Since it was clear that the youngest Anders’ sibling was having a moment, he was unsurprised that they were left to themselves. Jude hadn’t even noticed when his dormmates had headed up to the seventh year dorm; he’d catch up to them later. All that mattered was that he helped Keighley feel better. The young man rubbed his sister’s arm. “I don’t like it either,’’ he admitted, thinking that maybe it would have been nice if they had been twins. That way they didn’t have to be apart. “Honestly… I can’t answer that but you know that I’ll be there during Hogsmeade weekends bright and early both days. I’ll be there at King’s Cross each time you’re coming home for the holidays.” These were definitely promises he was going to keep. And then, that big revelation. Jude couldn’t say that he was surprised about the other aspect of what was eating away at Keigh. He was silent for a moment, trying to figure out what to say. It wasn’t as though Jude could deny he was over the moon about moving in with Davet. “I am,’’ Jude said calmly and holding Keighley closer. “But I’m not leaving you. I’ll always be a message away. I'll even stay over when you're home and you can stay with Dav and I whenever you want to.” |
If everyone didn't already know by now, well, that wasn't her problem. Sorry but not really. They had six full years to realize it. This Anders girl was Jude's shadow. And being without him next year was going to be earth shattering. "It just isn't fair." Oh, Merlin that many many times she had thought that over the years. The two of them looks nothing alike but every other way they were the same. Jude was her sibling match always. "You promise? Both days? If he was saying it she knew he meant it and he knew she would be holding him to it too. This was how things worked between them. Did she feel like the worst little sister in the entire universe right than? Yes. But she couldn't help it. Keigh shifted to lean against him even more. "I know.. but it's going to feel so strange without both Reagan and you in the house.. " She had known all along that Jude would move out but she hadn't expected it to be at the very start of the summer. Normally they had the whole break together and she had gotten used to that. There were a lot of changes happening all at once and it was finally getting to her. Even a sunshiny girl like her can hold it all in for so long. |
Indeed Keighley was Jude’s shadow. They might also be close to Rea and Ko but the two younger Anders’ siblings had an inseparable bond. “It’s not,’’ he agreed. “But I think we made the best of that unfortunate bit of happening, don’t you think? We get along really well, we’re supportive of each other, we’re always doing cool things together…’’ That was just to list a few things. “Both days, I promise. Of course I’ll use some time to catch up with my friends but the majority of the rest, I’ll be with you.” How did that sound to Keigh? As if Keighley could ever be the worst sister in the world at any time! Jude would NOT hear of such a thing! The young man was silent for a bit, his brain working in overdrive. He was beginning to see why all of this was overwhelming on Keigh. It was all the changes. He felt ashamed for not thinking about how his moving out would affect her. “Keigh, I’m sorry. I really didn’t stop to think about how you’d feel, about how much you’d miss me.” Truly, he had been focused on starting his life with Davet. Jude wrapped his other arms around his sister as though hoping that she’d feel how much he regretted not thinking about her interests. |
At this point in her life, Keighley was pretty sure that being a close knit family was Anders thing. One that she absolutely loved too. Spending endless amounts of time in her family's company was one of her favorite things but she knew that those times were going to be getting few and fewer since they were all getting older. "It's still silly how the universe couldn't realize sooner what amazing twins we would've made.." Seriously, how could life mess them up this way. Keigh pretended to give this some thought. "Are you sure? I-.. I don't want to take up all of your time." As much as she loved spending time with him she knew it wasn't fair to keep him all to herself like she wanted to. Jude might not think so but at the moment this young blonde believed that she was. Feeling Jude's arms around her, Keigh did what she always did, she snuggled into his embrace like the little sister that she was and soaked up his comfort. Buuuuuuut at the very same time she now wrapped her own arms tightly around him and squeezed. "Juuuuuuuude, nooooooooo. It's not you're fault, you deserve all the happiness with Davet." He shouldn't be having to think about how his little sister is going to feel constantly. That wasn't at all what she wanted. Yet, this is how they were. It was a Jude and Keighley thing. A sibling thing even. They disliked upsetting one another. |
Jude had figured that exact thing too. The thing about their time together as an entire family being lesser, that is. But he had already decided that he’d always do his best to see his siblings and parents, and even his cousins, regularly. It helped that Davet was loved by everyone in the family so it wasn’t as though Jude had to worry about him and his boyfriend being around them less. Even Keighley approved a billion percent of Dav. “Very silly, especially since twins seem to be a thing in our extended family.” The seventh year chuckled and booped his finger twice on his sister’s nose. “Quite sure. You’re always one of my top priorities.” Sisterly hugs were always the best. Jude was immediately comforted by them and by the words. “Thanks, Keigh. Just maybe this one time I wanted to put myself first, you know?” It would explain why he had been so focused on making plans about seeing apartments over the upcoming summer. If anyone could understand what he meant about putting himself first, it was Keighley. After all, she had seen him at his lowest, had put up with him at his lowest and had helped significantly in him finding himself again. |
Keigh had come to accept this over the years because it had been gradual. With Koen she had been so very little and still had Reagan and Jude and all their cousins around. When Reagan had moved on, she still had Jude. The same with their older cousins, there had still always been others around. Now it was Jude's turn and she wasn't at all ready because he was her closest person. "Right? Didn't the universe know how close we were going to be?" The double boops on her nose had the Hufflepuff playfully attempting to bite at his finger.. even though it was very halfheartedly she couldn't pass that moment up. GAH!!! Her heart! Way to get her right in the feels Jude! If Keighley wasn't already squishing him, she sure was now! Sorry not sorry. This she understood. She would take Jude hugs any day! "If anyone should be putting themselves first, it's you." He knew that he deserved all the best things in life, right? Anytime he ever needed her, she would be there. He had been there for her too, many times. They were the perfect sibling pair. |
By all analysis, it seemed that Jude remained a constant in Keighley’s life and vice versa. The soon-to-be-graduate could only hope that this would continue to remain so as all four of the Anders’ siblings streamed off into lives of their own. Then again, each knew what family meant to the other. After all, Addison and Connor had instilled this trait into them. Jude always suspected that it had something to do with that time their dad went missing, leaving their mum and Koen alone. “I think it did and does know but it just wants to mess with us. But we won’t let it, right? No matter how many times you bite me.” Because Keigh had successfully snagged his finger like a pouncing Kanga and Ned. Being squished by the baby sister was always welcomed! “I mean every word. “Trying to remember this,’’ Jude remarked honestly. There’s always going to be someone who he put first though because that’s who he was. “Are you feeling better now?” Tomorrow, he would ensure he sat with her so that they enjoyed one last meal at Hogwarts together. He’d also make sure he spend most of his time on the Express as they journeyed home as well. |
Clearly. Please someone tell her that he hadn't only taken notice to this now? No, really, she knew that Jude knew just as well as she did that there was noway they would ever grow apart. They connect they had as siblings was insane and Jude was stuck with her no matter what. "Nope, I'm not going anywhere. Even if I have to keep biting you to prove that point." Every time she did bite him it was only a very quick tiny gentle nip at his finger when he would tap her nose or poke at her cheek. Nothing at all to harm him in any way. Good! Because this sister right here was going to squish him as much as she could whenever she could! "You're the best, Jude." She meant it. "Don't worry, I'll help drill it into your head." She understood what he meant though because she had a thing for putting other people before herself too. "I guess so.. but that doesn't mean I'm moving anytime soon so you better make yourself comfortable." Keigh gave him the smallest hint of a smile now, still remaining how she was, all cuddled up into his side. |
Rest assured, little sister: Jude had not only now noticed this reality. A laugh sounded from him. “Oh no! Not Keighley bites!’’ he jested, relieved and pleased that he had been able to raise her spirits. “Nope! That’s you; you’re the best!’’ The siblings probably could argue for the remainder of the evening about this but it would get them nowhere. “You know I’ll do the same for you.” Because you, Keighley Morgan Anders, happened to be the nicest of all Anders and also put yourself behind everyone else. Jude snuggled in close. “That’s fine by me. I might even sleep right here.” There is something nagging at Connor concerning his older daughter and he was rather angsty to discuss it today. Characters: Christopher Carter (Kolyander) Connor Anders (FearlessLeader19) Connor remained stubborn about two things this fine April morning in 2111. It was a few days after Reagan’s twentieth birthday, a few days since she revealed to him and Addison that she had taken a R-O-M-A-N-T-I-C liking to Christopher Carter. Now, the fifty-four year old had nothing against Christopher up until that revelation. After all, he had known the younger man for a rather long time since he and Koen had been friends since their Hogwarts days. What Connor had an issue with was that Christopher was far older than Reagan and… well, a father was allowed to be protective {this was stubborn thing no. 1}. Miffed at the entire situation, he was not yet prepared to invite Reagan’s love interest back to the Anders’ household now or E-V-E-R {this was stubborn thing no. 2}. Instead, Con had asked Christopher to meet with him at a cozy little coffee shop. He had already gotten his own cup {he purposely didn’t order one for his ‘guest’} - fresh, black and strong - because he needed his complete focus to convince Christopher to break it off with Reagan. |
There was a few things in life that Christopher had expected and a few he hadn't. Working hard to make something of himself in his chosen career once he had figured out what that was had been very high up on his list. Remaining close to his family so that he could help them out, namely Cassie, whenever she needed it. It was no secret how much he adored his nieces and nephews. Something he hadn't expected, developing feelings for one Reagan Aurora Anders. One of his closest friends younger sisters. Not that age mattered at all to him, it didn't. But he knew it did to some. This was why they were taking their time in telling certain people about their relationship. It was also why he was sure he was asked to meet her father at this coffee shop today. The invitation was accepted without question and his arrival was several minutes early (nearly ten minutes) because that's just how he was. Entering the shop, he spotted Connor fairly quickly making his way over to the table. "Good morning, Mister Anders." Yes, even now he still had his manners and knew what respecting his elders meant. Ah, he wasn't entirely worried about coffee, if a waitress came over he might order a cup then. Until then he needed to remain levelheaded and calm. |
Connor, looking at customers entering the shop over the rim of his cup, was ridiculously disappointed to find that Christopher had arrived early. He had secretly been hoping that a late arrival would have added an unfavourable point in the other man’s favour. Alas! Connor lowered his cup to the table, hardly daring to believe how much in a different light he now saw Christopher. The younger man was no longer just a very close friend of Koen’s but also the man who wanted to date his older daughter. Con appreciated the honesty on both his and Reagan’s end but… “Christopher,’’ Connor replied somewhat stiffly, purposely not using ‘Chris’ as he usually did. He was starting to wonder if he ought to have told Addison about this little excursion; she always had the ability to keep his calmness in check. He’d just have to make do with ensuring he channelled her presence as best as he could. Not here to beat around the bush, continued. “Reagan told us about the… development… between you two. You do understand that she’s about a dozen years younger than you are?” Heavy emphasis on the word 'younger'. |
Sorry, not sorry, Sir. This was something Connor would come to learn about Chris, he was always early. It was something that had been instilled upon him from a very very young age. One should be early but not overly so. And if for some reason they couldn't be, they needed to let those waiting for them know. It was a rule. Anyhow, that wasn't important today. Reagan and his relationship was. Being called Christopher and not Chris didn't bother him in the least. He was expecting things to be somewhat uncomfortable. They were cutting straight to the chase, were they? Alright then. "I'm aware that she has," he replied, slipping down onto one of the chairs across from Connor. There weren't any secrets between them and they had decided it would be best to tell certain members of the family first. Like her parents. "I do. It will be eleven years in August. She's very much aware of it as well." Just in case he may have thought that she didn't know. "Neither of us see the big deal in this. Age is only but a number, Sir." It wasn't like Reagan was still at Hogwarts. Then he could understand Connor being upset. However they were both very much adults. |
You know what would have scored another point for Christopher? Keeping your eyes on the goal and referring to your and Rea’s relationship as important. Connor would have grudgingly admitted that Christopher had his priorities in the right order. But as none of this was actually said out loud, Christopher did not score that second point. Uncomfortable? Not from the older man’s point. He was quite at peace. Well, at as much peace as he could be without his anger boiling over. So far, Con was managing to keep a lid on that. He sternly eyed Christopher over the rim of his mug again. Of course they were getting down to business; he was anxious to discuss this matter and rather felt that if he didn’t, then he would go berserk in a bad way. Okay, Connor expected Christopher to know that. After all, he and Koen were the same age and Christopher had been around at the Anders’ house many times; he’d have to be quite blind to not notice Reagan was rather younger. Connor couldn’t stop the scowl from spreading across his face. “It matters to me,’’ he replied sharply. “One would think that an older man such as yourself would have ill intentions with my daughter.” So no. Age was not just a number to Connor. |
Yes well, he was tossed into the deep end from the second he reached the table. Right away the fact that he was older was being used against him, like it was his fault that he was older than Reagan was. And while eleven years was a lot, it felt like nothing at the same time. He had been at their home enough times over the years to be more than aware of the age gap that her father was clearly very upset over. Connor's sharp tone didn't upset Chris at all, he understood that perhaps his words hadn't come how he had meant them too but this is what he had expected. Sort of. An eyebrow was raised now and he had to keep himself from frowning at Connor's words. "And just what ill intentions might those be? Because I haven't done anything to her but grow to like and care for her more than a friend." Their feelings for one another hadn't happened overnight, it had taken years and in that time he had gotten to know her really well. |
It wasn’t being used against him; it was more like the fact was being stated. And Connor was very blinded by the other facts because he was worried about Reagan: that he had known Chris most of the younger man’s life and liked him; Chris was mature and caring; he was a good friend, and the list of good traits went on. Aside from wanting to protect his daughter, watching Jude suffer a few years back because of a broken heart was still fresh in his mind. Even if Jude was happy with Davet now, Connor was not keen on having to watch another of his children suffer. Connor did regret almost immediately taking that sharp tone though he had not meant to. He took the moment that followed to channel his inner Addison. After so many years of marriage, her calm demeanour had somewhat rubbed off on him. “I worry that Rea might be taken advantage of because she’s so young and inexperienced when it comes to romantic love,’’ he replied pointedly but calmly. “She may think she wants whatever it is between you two. You, knowing this, could easily be using her to pass your time.” That was harsh, Connor knew it, but this was his only concern. He sat back, hands wrapped around his coffee cup. “Tell me, Chris. Why do you think you and Rea would work? Do you see a future with her?” This was your chance to convince a worried father, Christopher. |
Stated, used against him, it was one in the same right now in his head. It shouldn't have been, but it was. Christopher knew how his being so much older than Reagan likely looked, especially at her young adult age. Yet, he didn't care and he felt that now one else should either. Which is why for that brief moment he hadn't been thinking fully about what he was saying when he said 'Age was only a number'. He had meant it differently than how Connor surely had taken it, that much was clear. It was fine. He could handle this. From now on he simply had to be more careful with his wording. And there it was. Connor thought that he was going to take advantage of Reagan. "And why exactly would I take advantage of her? Of one of my good mates, sister of all people and risk a friendship I've had for more than half of my life?" Did this not sound crazy to Connor because it sounded crazy to him. Now this right here was where Chris wanted to roll his eyes but he didn't knowing how bad that would look. "While that could be true, I really don't believe that it is. I have no reason to do such a thing to her, I'm a busy man and she's the first relationship I've been in in quite some time." Had grown up a great deal from his teenage days and mind games weren't his thing. "She's headstrong, that's why. Ambitious and wickly smart and so funny. Rea keeps me on my toes like no one else ever has and she's always ten steps ahead of me no matter what I say or do but at the same time it pushes us both to be better people, to be better at what we do. We're family people and you know what.. the fact that she even gives me the time of day at all means something. She's in university, she has her performing arts and meets new people constantly, she disliked me only a few short years ago and now she wants to be with me so you know what, Sir.. until she decides otherwise.. I'm going to give her whatever she wants and treat her like the queen that she is." What all of that rambling was about he did not know but maybe something in all of that made a shred of sense. |
Christopher had nieces, yes? Perhaps he could think of himself in Connor’s position, but Reagan was one of those nieces. Or Christopher was more than welcome to picture himself as a father presented with this identical situation and check to see if he wouldn’t be worried. Perhaps then he would fully understand the reasons behind Connor’s trepidation. Still, the older man was willing to listen to Christopher’s case, as shown with how carefully he listened to Chris’ words and paid attention to his body language to gauge how truthful he was being. Then again, he had always known his older son’s friend to be truthful and trustworthy. Just like that, as Connor thought about Christopher’s traits, he could feel the anxiousness he had been feeling beginning to ebb away. “I don’t know, Chris. You’d have to be rather daft to throw your friendship with Koen away. Not to mention your good standing with me and the rest of my family.” Connor had practically watched the man before him grow up. Despite himself, Connor’s lips twitched as Rea was described. It was very clear that Christopher had figured her personality out. There was a brief moment when he frowned; he hadn’t known that Rea had disliked Christopher for a bit. It was funny how life worked out; it reminded him of him being rude to Addi for a period when they had started out at Hogwarts but eventually he had given into her charms. “That’s true. Rea is a busy young woman but there must be something about you that she likes strongly. As far as I’ve known, Rea has never had the desire to be in a relationship with anyone.” Connor drummed his fingers on the table thoughtfully. “Addison and I have raised her with a lot of love and attention. You can understand that as I know family means a lot to you as well… you can promise that you will not hurt her?” |
It was a fact that yes, he did indeed have several nieces. He was sure most everyone was aware of this by now, he was a proud uncle. Should that have been pointed out to him... then yes, maybe Christopher would have been able to see where Connor was coming from. However he would also be able to point out many points that could be good as well. Or at least he hoped. There was a slight incline of his head, a small nod of agreement. This is my point exactly. I've known your family for years now, since I was a young boy. Why would I throw all of that away now?" He wouldn't. If things should not work out between Reagan and himself (not that he foresaw any troubles because he didn't) then it would all be on mutual grounds. Was that a brief hint of a smile he had seen? It was nice. If only he could continue with that now and keep it there. Oi! How could he not figure out that personality of hers?! It was what he adored most about her. That and her drive to succeed. So was so focused and passionate about her future, there was no doubt in his eyes that she was going to be a star! "She is and I'm happy to stand at her side through it all or step back and give her room while she practices and be there for all the performances." Whatever Rea needed. "Perhaps she was much too focused on her studies or.. the right one never caught her eye.. He couldn't be sure of this but he liked the idea of the latter one if he had to pick. As for this.. now Chris had to smile. "You have my word," he responded without any hesitation at all, holding Connor's gaze with his own. |
Connor had to hand it to Christopher: the younger man certainly had an answer for everything. Con didn’t mean this in a bad way. In fact, it was impressive that Chris had a right head on his shoulders. This was a good thing because since he wanted to continue being with Reagan, he’d need all the level headedness to keep up with that energetic eldest Anders’ girl. The older man nodded then drained the last of his coffee. Nothing was said for a while on his part because reassessing his thoughts and feelings about Chris and Reagan’s relationship was happening mentally. It certainly had been a ghost of a smile that Chris had seen; perhaps it was a good sign? What Connor knew was that the other fellow was certainly signing himself up for literally being by Rea’s side all his life; meaning, he'd have to juggle her, his own family and his job. Yet, something told Con Chris would do this without any issues. “Perhaps. I would like to think it’s a combination of both, however. She’s very determined to be a successful actress, as you know. Should this relationship last, you’ll be prepared for all the attention that comes with that? Your lives would hardly be private.” As for that promise, Connor held Chris’ gaze for some seconds before nodding. “I know I do.” So yes. This was Connor giving his blessing for the relationship. |
It may seem that way at the moment but Christopher was positive that if the right question came along, he was sure to not have an answer to at least one. So far all that had been brought up was things that he had thought about already. Things, he knew. Could he continue to play it safe though and not let Connor know there could be things he didn't know? The future was a very uncertain place but he would do his best to make Reagan as happy as he could for as long as he was able. That was more than okay with him. He knew what he was taking on when it came to Rea and their relationship and he was proud. Whatever she wanted to toss at him, she was welcome to. She already tested him a little bit over the last couple of years and he was sure the following years were only going to strengthen their bond. "That very well could have been it as well." Not that it matters much anymore since she was no longer at Hogwarts and she was now with him. Chris smiled a bit, nodding his head. Yes, he knew this. Anyone that knew Rea knew how determined she was to be a successful actress. Hang on a second. Back up there. Now that was something this man hasn't exactly thought about in full.. but you know what.. He shifted in his seat a little, straightening up. "If she decides that she wants to bring me out into the spotlight with her, then yeah. I'll adjust to that as best as I can." It might take some time but he would do it. Connor had no need to worry. Once his word was given, it wasn't broken. |
Connor continued to survey Christopher, his ill feelings melting away bit by bit. And then just like that, he knew that Christopher would keep Reagan happy. He also knew that Christopher would be able to keep up with her. Don’t ask Connor how he finally knew; it was one of those situations when one had a sudden understanding. Much like how he had had a moment in understanding that Addison was the one for him. See how well that little premonition had worked out? Judging from the younger man’s reaction, he had not thought of a future involving a famous partner. Connor had first thought about it after Jude had made it known he planned to become a professional dancer. He doubted Evan would have been able to go through a life like that but Davet certainly would, not just because the Miggle boy planned on being an actor himself. “I have no doubt that she will want to do that. If there’s one thing that I’ve learnt is that my kids love to show off their partner.” Partners, in Keighley’s case. Con was quite sure they got this trait from him since showing off Addison was something he still did. “Well, I suppose that’s that. What’s important to me is that Rea’s happy. If the opposite ever happens on your watch…” The threat was left hanging as he got to his feet. “I suppose I’ll be seeing you round my house soon? Then I’ll see you later.” No doubt Christopher would be there at some point to take Rea out. Hmm… maybe Connor would even suggest they have Christopher over to dinner some time. |
Did Connor know that his stare felt somewhat like he was being observed beneath the lens of a microscope? Some might be unnerved by this, but not him. If need be, Christopher would've sat there and answered all the questions, anything to put Reagan's father more at ease. Knowing the family as long as he did, it would be a shame to have the man start disliking him now. Whatever he had to do to keep his lovely Rea happy, he was prepared to do. Being in the spotlight didn't come with his profession. He could happily live in his bubble and not the center of attention and that would forever be fine with him. He wouldn't be upset if his lady wanted to show him off to everyone. "Then she's welcome to. She can parade me around whenever she wants." And he'll smile about it too. He knew he was the lucky one in his relationship with her. "We're on the same page with that. Her happiness is everything." All was right in the world when there was a smile on that girls face. Chris nodded. "I'll see you soon." He would be taking her out as often as he could. Any chance to spoil her and spend time together, he would be taking full advantage of it. |
Summer of 2111: Keighley has only recently returned home after completing her sixth year at Hogwarts. Jude and Davet have a surprise for her, on her first evening at their apartment. Characters: Davet Durand (Chelliephone) Jude Anders (FearlessLeader19) Keighley Anders (Kolyander) His baby sister was home!!!!! Well, her SECOND home, since the Anders’ home was her first. Jude had spent most of the day prepping for her first evening with him and Davet. That’s right: the apartment was doubly filled with snacks {mostly Keighley’s faves} and new bottles of nail polish. Just what had he planned on doing with these? Well, there was the main attraction: the pillow and blanket fort; this would serve as the trio’s main hang out. Jude was just in the living room adding the finishing touches to this rather COLOURFUL fort with the boyfriend. Every blanket, every fluffy pillow was an extremely bright colour! There was a table full of snacks and three huge mugs of hot chocolate {topped with giant amounts of marshmallows. The array of nail polish was on full display on another smaller table, each bottle as colourful as the pillows and blankets. And the TV was there if they wanted to watch something or just use it for background noise. Jude now stood back and admired the handiwork. He was quite ready for the evening celebrations to get started {he was even clad in his pajamas - one with planets on them}, also because he and Davet had something they wanted to ask Keigh. “She’s going to love all of this!’’ Jude said to the man beside him, and bouncing on his feet. “Thank you for helping, babe.” Was Davet a keeper or what?! In gratitude, Jude leaned in and planted a kiss on the other’s lips. All they were missing now was one Keighley Morgan Anders! Jude supposed she was still in the guest room getting ready. |
Davet had done his best to keep up with his boyfriend while they prepped for the arrival of the youngest Anders. He was perhaps at a disadvantage that he did things the muggle way, out of no choice, but that was fine because with Jude's use of magic and the attentions to detail Davet was able to go around and provide, the whole place had come together in what felt like no time at all. Stepping back to admire their handiwork, the brunette took a look around the room, eyeing the hot chocolates excitedly, before his attention turned fully on Jude beside him. Giving a smile, he waved off the thanks. In his mind, there was nothing to thank him for. Davet was hoping to be around for a long, long time and Jude's family was his now as far as he was concerned. He was happy to be able to do something like this for any of them. And he was quite looking forward to getting to spend time with Keighley and Jude as well and hear about her term had been. The magic world was very new to him, and he was fascinated to hear more about all of it. Regardless, the boy still returned the kiss and slipped an arm around Jude's waist. "We did good. Any last minute something I should grab from the kitchen before she comes out? Or pull a few movies from the shelf or something?" Movies seemed pointless since he was sure the siblings would prefer to spend time talking and catching up, but it had been worth the offer. |
It felt so GOOD to be back where she truly belonged. Back home with her family and those she cared about most. Like right this very instant she was in the guest room at Jude and Davet's place, which no doubt was bound to be a home to her for the better part of the summer. It had been much too long since she had seen either of them and she was very much looking forward to this sleepover! Shortly after she had arrived at the apartment and all the cuddles had been given, Keighley had slipped away into the guest room to put away the things she had brought along with her. During this time, the seventeen year old also decided to change into her pajamas. Tonight's being a matching pair of shorts with a shirt that had flowers and rainbows on them. Her blonde hair was left down now and here feet were clad in light purple plush slippers. Now that she was all ready, she could join the guys back in the living room. "I'm back!" she announced with a smile that only brightened a thousand times over when she took in everything they had set up. "What is all of this?! This is awesome!" Keigh giggled, opening her arms for hugs because the two of them were going to get squished now for all of this! "This was your idea, wasn't it Jude?" |
Davet had done his best? Puh-lease! The boyfriend had gone beyond and above to help Jude out. Davet was always so supportive, and it was something that he was grateful for. More than that, Davet had already adopted the Anders’ family as his own. Not to say that Jude didn’t think of Davet’s parents as his own plus by extension, Davet’s entire extended family. Especially Mouse. The young man beside him really need not worry; Jude definitely wanted him in his life for forever. He bumped his head gently against Dav’s fluffy one. “We did. You’re truly the best.” Everyone deserved a partner like this wonderful person beside him! “Perhaps some movies. Princess-y ones, maybe, with the cute love stories.” Because the baby sister always appreciated the lovey dovey things. Speaking of Keighley… There she was! It really was no surprise to see her all decked out so exuberantly. She looked adorable. “Surprise! Dav and I fixed this up for you. We figured we’d start your time here with us with a bang!” Jude flung his arms around Keighley, always ready and willing to accept her squishes. “It was. It’s been a while since we did each other’s nails. And now you also get to do Dav’s too!’’ |
At the compliment of him being the best, Davet just chuckled softly and raised an eyebrow, a small shake of his head while letting his curls bounce a bit to the sides. "You sir, are the one who had to do majority of the work. Which I think makes you the best between the pair of us." Which he would argue until he was blue in the face. AND he would have back up considering Jude's younger sister was home now as well. This was one debate in which he was certain he could actually win. "Princess and love stories. You got it!" Giving Jude another kiss to the cheek, Dav retreated for just a moment to peruse their shelves. He happened to be a fan of watching things on DVD, probably because he preferred to just know what was his favorites and have them easily acceptable. With directions in mind, he pulled out Ever After - the Cinderella retelling, Beauty and the Beast - the original animated version, and the Princess Bride in case they wanted comedy and romance. As a last choice too, he also pulled out Tuck Everlasting. Not Princess-y, but decent actors and the scenery was beautiful. Heading back to the pair of siblings, Davet set down his finds on the coffee table pushed off to the side, before approaching them both and giving Keighley a quick squeeze and Jude another kiss to the temple. "It's good to have you back, Keighley." He said softly, smiling at her before moving away to let the siblings continue their embrace. "I'll get started on hot chocolates for everyone while you guys settle in. Keigh, what do you usually like on yours?" |
Was she really that dressed up? Keighley didn't think so. All she was wearing was her pajamas and fuzzy slippers. Simplicity and comfort was very important. Hers just happened to be adorable looking. It was all a win win in her book. The blonde flung her arms around her brother giving him a tight squish. T"This is perfect guys! Thank you!" Davet got a squish from her as well when he got close enough. At the mention of doing each other's nails, Keighley smiled brightly at the two of them. "Now, that's going to be so much fun! And you both can do my hair and nails too. Are we watching movies?" She gestured towards the stack of DVDs that were sitting close by. From the looks of it, this was going to be a fun night. Hot chocolate?! Now Davet was really speaking her name. "I take mine exactly like Jude.. unless he's change how he likes his recently?" Keigh cast a quick glance from Davet to Jude as she spoke. She also really like her hot cocoa the way Charlie makes it for them but that was for when they were together. |
Such perfect hair. Jude quite enjoyed the glorious hair that Davet was burdened with. Excuse you, boyfriend! Jude could argue too about who was the best. He just might have if it had not been for the fact that Keighley would be down soon. “Let’s just settle with we make the best team.” Not just at fort building but also at life in general. As Davet left to gather the movies, Jude basking in the warm aftermath of the kiss, inspected the fort once more with a critical eye. Everything needed to be absolutely perfect for the most perfect girl in the world. Yeah, right! His sister looked lovely and radiant as always. He was only happy to return the squishy hug. All the affection in this room was making him super happy! Snugs between his boyfriend and sister? HEARTWARMING! More kisses from Davet? PURE PERFECTION! Do Keigh's hair? Why, yes! “I’d love that! Any particular style you have in mind?” Jude wasn’t bad with styling his sisters’ hair since they had given him opportunities to practice. “Yes, we are! Dav’s chosen some great ones, look.” He directed her attention to the other guy’s excellent choices. Personally he was in a Beauty and the Beast mood but this evening was not about him. “Pick one and I’ll set it up, Keigh. “Thanks, Dav,’’ Jude remarked, shooting his boyfriend a grateful and loving look. “The way I take my hot chocolate has not changed,’’ he continued in reassurance to Keighley. Which meant that Davet knew perfectly well that there needed to be lots of marshmallows in there! |
It was no secret to Davet how much his boyfriend liked his hair, which was exactly why he never changed a thing about it. Even going so far as to tell costume designers he would not be changing a thing, so they could expel the thought of asking him to do so immediately. "The best team I will accept." Dav acquiesced, after taking a minute to pretend he had to think about it before agreeing to no longer argue. He smiled again at Jude once his task was finished. Keighley's squish was enthusiastically returned, as he was just glad to see the younger Anders liked the surprise as much as they hoped for. At the compliment of his movie selections as well, he just grinned at the boyfriend again, glad the choices were approved. He let the siblings talk more detailed plans, figuring he would do whatever they wanted him to when he was back and settled (he was rubbish at hair but had gotten rather good at nails). Similar to Jude's for the hot chocolate? That certainly made things easier on Dav. "Two cups of marshmallows with a side of hot cocoa coming right up!" he teased them both good naturedly, setting to work prepping the cups. |
Was she this way when she was with Livvy and Charlie? Keigh was sure that she was, possibly even worse. And did these two lovebirds know something? This blonde didn't mind it one bit! As a matter of fact, she loved seeing her big brother so happy. Getting to see such a smile on Jude's face melted her heart. If anyone deserved such happiness, it was him. Davet was indeed the perfect guy for him. Anyone that looked their way could see it. Keighley smiled brightly at the two of them. "Nope, you can do whatever you like. Any hairstyle and anything you want on my nails. You two can have fun with it." She was giving them free rein! Of her hair and nails anyway. At Jude's direction, she shifted her attention towards the stack of movies that had been set out already. "Ooooh, someone knows me well!" she laughed, reaching for one of the movies right away without too much thought about it and holding it out towards Jude. Would they be singing along to all the songs as they watched the movie because if they didn't she would be one very said Keighley. "Davet, do you like Beauty and the Beast as much as we do?" He had to otherwise it wouldn't be in the pile, right? Opening her mouth to comment on how she was glad that Jude's hot cocoa preference hadn't changed, all she managed to do was laugh instead. Good one, Davet! They did like quite a lot of marshmallows in their cocoa. |
Jude appreciated the lengths Davet went to keep that headful of hair of his. If that wasn’t a clear sign of love, then he didn’t know what was. They indeed made the best team because look at them compromising! Hadn’t Jude hit the jackpot when he found this guy?! Thankfully, Keigh seemed to be able to handle their mushiness, though he suspected she was just as bad with Olivia and Charlie. It didn’t matter though for everyone knew that the Anders’ were all big on openly showing affection to their respective partners. And looking at the boyfriend and sister interacting, he couldn’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy; those were two of his FAVOURITE persons right there and look at how swimmingly they got along! This evening could not get any better! Look at that! Keigh had selected Beauty and the Beast! Jude intended to sing along to every song since he had memorised every lyric. While setting up the movie, he asked, “So, Dav. You tackle nails, I tackle hair?” It had been a while since he had done either Keigh’s, Rea’s or any of his cousin’s hair so Jude was sort of itching to get back into that game. Once everything was ready, he grabbed Keigh’s hand to lead her into the fort. With him he also had a comb, a brush and an assortment of colourful hair accessories. Hot chocolate, a movie, a cozy fort and pampering for the sister? Uh huh. Time for the festivities to commence! "Get ready for a sing along, guys!" After Dav settled in, Jude would hit 'play' using the remote. |
Being around those who were affectionate with one another was never something that perturbed Davet, so it wasn't something he usually considered either in regards to his own interactions with Jude when they were anywhere other than at home together. He was just the same towards his partner in every circumstance, but he certainly would have been glad that that wasn't something that bothered present company. He also would have been quite complimented to hear how Keighley viewed the pair of them. He knew Reagan approved, considering how big of a hand she had in their initial meeting, but despite never letting himself wallow insecurities that he could have had regarding Jude's best friend - there were moments when he wondered if the Anders family wished he were someone else. But those moments were far and fleeting, considering what a warm and opening family they were and how he'd yet to have anything close to a bad interaction with any. At Keighley's permission for them to do whatever to her hair and nails, Dav grinned slightly as he looked over at his boyfriend while he divvied out the task - assuming he already had plenty of ideas. "Sounds like the perfect plan to me." He figured he would wait a moment to see what Jude's direction was before selecting a nail color and deciding if he was going to brave art or anything of the sort. He'd had some practice, as Mouse often used his ability to be rather decent with nail painting now to have requests. "Well, I did get direction from the best person to have insight into your tastes." He replied regarding the movies, grinning at Jude once again. "I don't think anyone can love Beauty and the Beast as much as you too, but I do think it's my favorite of all the Disney films. It was one of my first plays I was involved in, so it's always held a special place." Had he merely been the dog/footstool? Yes, but it was one he hoped to reprise later perhaps in the role of Adam. Or truthfully? Lumiere was really who he'd like to play. Once the Anders had crawled their way into the fort, Dav handed in the hot chocolates he'd prepared for them before carefully doing the same - making sure not to jostle anyone who now held a hot drink. "Who is everyone's favorite character from the film?" |
Oh, dearest her! There had never once been a time, not even the smallest of moments that she had felt uncomfortable around Jude and Davet. Nor had she ever once wished that Davet was anybody but himself. He was quite a talented young man and the perfect match for her brother. The happiness that he had brought forth into Jude's life was undeniable. Keighley had seen it even before the two were officially dating, they were very sweet together. And honestly, if he was happy, than so was she. "Great! This is going to be so much fun!" She had been looking forward to spending time with them for weeks. Keighley gladly followed Jude into the fort, holding his hand until she had settled herself down within a pile of pillows and placing one on her lap. "How can anyone now love it? It's a wonderful movie. " She could see where it might be a little scary to some younger children but not to her. Even as a tiny little blonde tot, she has always loved the movie. "Really? Why am I only hearing about this now?" Davet was going to have to tell her all about being in that play! Keigh took the mug of hot cocoa she was offered with a grateful smile, cradling it in her hands. "Thank you, it looks perfect." So many marshmallows! Just how she liked it. "I'm always ready for a sing-along, Jude!" Had be forgotten who he was sitting with? She just hoped that Davet was ready too! "Well the obvious choices would be Belle and the Beast, I love them both but honestly I absolutely adore Chip! He's simply the cutest little thing ever!" That tiny chipped teacup was precious. |
